Our 3rd visit and didn't disappoint. Already booked for another visit next year. Beautiful surroundings and a lovely swimming pool for a relaxing stay.

The second time we have been and it was just as comfortable . The cottage has everything you need for a self catering holiday and is well placed for visiting the surrounding area just a lovely place

Our first visit to Old Oak Cottages, for hubby’s 70th birthday. What a little gem of a find. Easy to book, queries answered promptly, lovely location and facilities. Loved the swimming pool, pity the sauna was out of action though. Will hopefully return again, and will pass details onto family and friends

This was our third visit to Old Oak, we booked Mouse for a change.
Arrived to a lovely welcome basket of goodies and treats for our dog.
A fabulous short break, visited Masham, Richmond, Hanby and our go to pub visit at Kilburn.
We didn’t use all our swimming slots due to timings in the middle of the day when we were out but I enjoyed the one time I used the pool.
Hopefully we can return next summer.

As always loved this beautiful cottage (2nd visit in 3months) just have to keep coming back as it lovely and peaceful. Set in the heart of Yorkshire so much to do on the doorstep love it.

Returning guest having stayed several times in the last 8 years. The hosts in Amanda and John just make you feel as if was our 1st visit with the standard of accommodation to a very high standard and set in a beautiful setting. Looking forward in next break again this year.

We love the location and the facilities. There are so many places to visit and lots of good pubs and cafes for food. It was ideal for our daughter’s dog and he was quite at home. The swimming pool is an added bonus too. We shall book again for next year. We have already recommend the cottages to friends and two of them have visited and will return again. Thank you John and Amanda.

Our second time staying at Mouse Cottage and thoroughly enjoyed our stay once again. The pool was lovely and the welcome pack a nice touch. The owner, John was always on hand if needed. It's a shame that the weather wasn't better but that's the way it goes.
Visited Thirsk a few times and also Knaresborough, Ripon, Harrogate and Northallerton.

Fourth time and love coming here. Only thing is pool slots, could do with communal ones being first and last slot so people going out for the day don’t miss out. Could not swim on Saturday as slot 11.30 then communal mid afternoon and we were walking to go out for lunch and the pool is one of the main reasons choosing this cottage. Other than that welcome pack on arrival fabulous and lovely peaceful surroundings.

Thank you so much for reviewing your recent stay in Mouse cottage and good to hear you enjoy your stays with us. We introduced individual timed swim slots during covid, which proved incredibly popular. We have also introduced daily communal time slots,giving guests the opportunity to swim twice daily, again proving very popular. We do realise there is no perfect solution for everyone - if we are not fully booked we try to accommodate guests requests to change their swim times and we try to be as flexible as possible. Its such a shame you didn't ask us if you could change your time as we had four other cottages vacant at the time you stayed with us, which would probably have solved the problem Thanks again for your review Amanda

This was our third stay at the cottages, everything was perfect
The hosts think of everything even a welcome pack for our dog
I would not hesitate to reccomend to anyone

We return to this venue at least once per year and so obviously we really like it. The cottages are self catering and exactly what we want because if we want to eat out there are various restaurants in the area. There is so much to do in the area that we never find ourselves stuck for something to do. The hosts are very friendly and helpful and we would recommend these cottages unreservedly.

Located just south of Thirsk,this wonderful country accommodation is perfect for exploring the Yorkshire Moors and Dale's.
We were made very welcome in Mouse cottage, extremely comfortable cottage.
A welcome pack of bread, butter, coffee, tea, jam and marmalade.
Plus Bonios and dog blanket for our Yorkshire terrier.

Swimming pool was lovely and warm and individually timed for each cottage.

Would not hesitate to stay here again...EXCELLENT

We stayed at the Old Oak Cottages for 2 nights we wished we had booked longer.
Full comforts of home,excellent clean and warm place to stay.
Hoists wsrm and friendly nothing too much trouble.
We will definitely be returning hopefully soon for a longer period lots of places to see in the area .

This is the second time we have stayed at Oak Cottages and it was as fabulous as the first time. Excellent parking, lovely cottage, lovely welcoming food basket. Everything was perfect....the family are very friendly and welcoming and the swimming pool was fantastic.....it was warm enough even during the snowy weather we encountered. We will definitely be back

We had a lovely stay at mouse cottage our hosts were very friendly and helpful, the welcome pack was one of the best we have ever had also complimentary tea coffee and sugar were on hand on our arrival also milk and butter.
The facilities were all excellent the swimming pool we all loved! Such a lovely complex we hope to return again!

Lovely week away in Yorkshire. Cottage was lovely and has everything you need. Surrounding area beautiful, lovely walks from the cottage and local towns within easy travelling distance. Friendly and helpful owners on site.
