Excellent week and couldnt fault anything.
Pool was fantastic for the kids.
So much to do in that area and were blessed with the weather for October!

First impressions, the location was quiet and wonderful views
The cottage was welcoming, comfortable and clean
The kitchen is well equipped including a dishwasher and washer dryer
The bedding was comfortable as were the beds
A wonderful place for a week away from everything and certainly worthy of a return visit

Owl cottage was the perfect accommodation for our family holiday in Yorkshire. The pool, tennis court and play areas were used daily alongside visits to the wildlife pond, pony and goat. Lots of places to visit locally to suit all ages and abilities. The on sight e-car charger was a bonus. We will certainly return in years to come.

We spent a week in OWL at the Old Oak Cottage and we loved it. Quiet, clean and lots of fun things to do. We definitely will come back again.

Lovely holiday with our grandson, who loved to see the chickens, the goat and the pony! We really enjoyed having an individual slot for the pool so we could focus on his swimming. Great location for lots of activities around the area. Owl cottage met all our needs too, being well equipped for our stay - and dog friendly with an enclosed seating area.

The cottage was delightful. All our requests for information etc from the owners were dealt with quickly and positively.
A lovely welcome pack provided with local goodies !
Lovely surroundings and beautifully kept grounds and gardens and the hens became firm friends as regular visitors to the cottage.
We were very fortunate with the weather which allowed us to spend most days enjoying outdoor lunches.
The coastal resorts were accessible and the market towns of the Dales were perfect for browsing.
We have never holidayed in this part of the world before but we will be back.

We have stayed at Old Oak Cottages on many occasions and love the beautiful farmland surrounding the cottages, the wildlife and birds, and the wonderful view of the White Horse. John is always friendly and welcoming and the cottages are spotlessly clean, well equipped and with the most comfortable beds we’ve ever slept in. There are many beautiful places to visit within easy reach and lovely places to walk locally or up in the hills. We love staying there! Many thanks to John, Amanda and Amy for another happy week and for the generous welcome hamper, which was much appreciated.

Problem with Owl meant that we actually stayed in Squirrel, a cottage we have stayed in previously. The view probably makes it our favourite out of all the cottages we have stayed in.

We have stayed at Old Oak cottages many times before. Owl cottage is lovely with all the amenities you need for a self catering holiday. It could possibly use a mattress replacement as it dips on one side which is my only criticism. The complex itself is great for children, with a play area, tennis courts & an indoor pool, although that is a bit chilly. Thoroughly recommend this place for a holiday and the owners are lovely & very accommodating.

Sorry if you found the pool a little cool - we run the pool water temperature at a constant 29c, which is the higher end of the recommended swimming pool temperature, and is checked daily. We have lost count how many times we have returned to Old Oak Cottages. We have also stayed in many of the 8 cottages depending on the number in our group. Great for family gatherings and celebrations.

Always a great stay in a beautiful area providing easy access to many attractions suitable for all ages and members of the family.

Great too, just to relax, in this very quiet country setting looking onto the White Horse of Kilburn, and to have daily private access to the on site indoor poor. Just refurbished.

What sets Owl, and other cottages apart from other similar holiday cottages is the excellent attention to detail, and constant improvements.. provided by the hard working, conscious, and friendly on site owners, John, Amanda, and Amy.

We love Old Oak Cottages, and are also
sad to leave. A week is never long enough….

We look forward to our next visit.

I've stayed in many cottages in both the UK and abroad and this was the best experience by far. Not only was the location great for all North Yorkshire has to offer, the cottage was absolutely lovely. Clean, well decorated and thought out with everything you might need. The overall quality was extremely high - the owners clearly haven't cut corners and it shows. What I particularly liked was the fact there were weren't signs throughout the cottage telling you what not to do!! Felt very relaxed and welcoming - including the welcome pack which included many useful things, not least of which were the Nespresso coffee pods!

We'll be booking here again and hopefully bringing friends to share the wonderful experience.

We’ve stayed in Owl many times and love the view across the farm and up to the White Horse. The cottage is warm, well equipped and always spotless. The beds are super comfortable with snowy white bed linen. It’s very quiet so we always sleep well and there are lots of lovely places to visit nearby. Thank you to John and Amanda for another happy week and a much appreciated welcome hamper.

A wonderful weeks stay in an amazing location. Everything provided for a relaxing stay. Welcome basket was well received after a long journey. Would highly recommend.
