This is not the first time we have stayed at this cottage, with good reason. It has a great location with marvelous views, and all the amentities required. A friendly and effifient management team ensure a great stay.

Fifth time at Old Oak Cottages. Fourth time back to squirrel. Fantastic place to stay. Thank you to Amanda, John and Amy for the welcome pack, very much appreciated. Lovely place to stay, very relaxing holiday, lovely views over the countryside. Added bonus of lovely swimming pool. We will be back as soon as.

Stayed 2 years previously. perfect for our family with 2 young children. Such a great area to explore, but also you could just stay on site swim and walk locally. We'll be back!

Old Oak Cottages are in a beautiful peaceful location. Our cottage had the most amazing view. It’s also a very good base for walking, visiting local attractions and getting into York. The cottage was comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. The pool was an added bonus.
We will definitely be booking again.

Our second time at Old Oak Cottages (Squirrel). Lovely clean and well equipped cottages. Daily use of the swimming pool was a brilliant addition, along with access to the tennis court and play equipment for the children.
We have loved the location too- convenient to get to lots of lovely places. We plan on returning!

This was our 4th visit to Old Oak Cottages staying in Squirrel. We always enjoy coming back and the cottage is always very clean and well equipped. John, Amanda and Amy always make us feel very welcome and the generous hamper they provide is a lovely addition. The location is very peaceful with stunning views over the countryside.

We really enjoyed our stay at Old Oak Cottages. Not too remote - near the main A19 - but wonderfully peaceful. Lots of fabulous things to do and see in the area - but Squirrel Cottage itself has the most lovely view of the White Horse set against the hills to return to in the evening. We would stay again and recommend to friends and family.

We’ve just returned from the most fabulous, relaxing short break at Old Oak Cottages. We stayed in Squirrel. Can not fault anything! It was our first time staying here, but I’m hoping it won’t be the last! Already planning our return. Cleanliness & attention to detail was perfect. The information file provided in the cottage was SO insightful from very easy instructions on how to use amenities to places to visit and eat - a huge list of options! Beds were super comfy - towels super soft & honestly, we didn’t want to leave. The play area, football space, tennis court & trampoline was the icing on the cake for our 5 year old…& of course the well kept swimming pool. The individual allocated time slots work so well & my little boy spent most of his time asking when it was our time to swim - despite being on a day out! I think he would have quite happily not gone anywhere and stayed at the cottages for the duration! I’m already missing the wonderful views. Thanks for a beautiful time.

An excellent cottage which was well equipped. We were staying with extended family so the proximity of separate cottages was ideal. Pool was great with the timetable really helpful.

Squirrel Cottage was very comfortable, clean and well equipped with everything, dishwasher, washing machine etc. Good facilities on the site, tennis and pool etc and very quick to get back on the main roads to explore the area. Highly recommend.

We stayed in Squirrel cottage which being on the first floor has the most fantastic views over the surrounding countryside towards the Kilburn White Horse. The cottage was really well furnished, warm, comfy, spotlessly clean and simply a great place as a base for a holiday.
On arrival there was a welcome pack to get us going with tea, biscuits, marmalade and bread and the kitchen we exceptionally well equipped.
The pool was excellent and it was great to have private allocated time just for our cottage. There was a quiet seating area outside as well as a tennis court.
There are great walks from the cottage, especially over to Kilburn where teas and coffees were available at the Mouseman Centre.
Had a brilliant week and we will certainly go back again.
