We have visited old oak cottages several times over the years and as always have been really pleased with our time spent there. Excellent in every way. Highly recommended

We enjoyed our second stay in Wren Cottage very much. The cottage is well equipped with everything needed for a relaxing stay in peaceful surroundings. Everywhere was spotless and we found the chairs in the sitting area and the bed very comfortable. A generous welcome hamper had been left for us in the kitchen. There is a beautiful swimming pool on site and each cottage had the exclusive use of the pool for one hour each day the timing of which varied during the week, as well as a communal slot. There are other facilities on site for families- tennis court and a play area with equipment. Wren cottage is well located to explore the attractive countryside and market towns of North Yorkshire. We highly recommend a stay at any of Oak Tree Cottages.

We had an enjoyable stay in this very pleasant spot; there is plenty to do and see in the local area. We particularly enjoyed the pool, which was a real bonus, and we thought the individual time slots, plus the communal times, worked really well. The cottage was well-equipped and comfortable, and the hosts very pleasant and welcoming.

After a 7hr journey from Kent to the cottage (due to heavy traffic) we were pleasantly surprised by the welcoming basket of goodies left us. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. The added bonus of a swimming pool was welcoming and the surrounding area was beautiful.
We had a very restful and relaxing week and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful break. Thank you to our host's.

The cottage is conveniently located close to Thirsk and North York Moors and not too far from much of the Yorkshire Dales. The facilities on site were excellent including a patio area to sit out in in the sunshine (which has been in short supply this summer).

Perfectly equipped cottage in a fabulous peaceful country location, but with lots of great places to visit all half an hour away or less.

Great welcome basket on arrival and a lovely area to sit outside if you are lucky with the weather. Really enjoyable break and accommodation I wouldn’t hesitate in booking again.

Perfect in all respects. Very peaceful area away from any noise, on a farm in the countryside, but just a few minutes drive to a main road so very convenient. These cottages have been very well converted and very well equipped, clean and comfortable. The hosts are friendly and helpful, available but not intrusive. The whole farm and cottage area is very well maintained. The swimming pool was excellent, and the system of allocated and communal times worked very well. We cannot think of anything that wasn't provided, much better than the average rental.
We would thoroughly recommend Old Oak Cottages and look forward to staying again.

This is our second stay at old oak cottages and absolutely love the place
Beautiful location and the cottages are so comfortable and relaxing
The hosts make you feel so welcome and we will definitely be returning for our third visit next summer
It’s a beautiful peaceful haven and can’t wait to go back

This is our 6th time at Old Oak.

Great hosts, friendly ready to help with any questions. Very cosy and comfortable cottage for a couple. Quiet location, but lots to do on the farm itself but also just 10 mins from Thirsk, 20 mins from Sutton Bank.

We had a lovely time at Old Oak Cottages despite the poor weather. The cottages are excellent ( we have stayed in them all except Badger ) as are the swimming pool , tennis court and children’s play area. The cottages are well placed for visiting gardens , houses and the coast. There are walks from the doorstep , long and short. Amanda and John are always on hand to offer help and advice and the welcome basket never fails to impress. We will continue to visit at least twice a year (record is five visits)

We are regulars at old oak cottages, however due to a death in the family days before our holiday we had to cancel the holiday. We emailed Amanda and Amy that we would not make it. They emailed back straightaway saying they would move the holiday to another date of our choosing without any charge. This is typical of this family run business where you feel like a valued customer whether it is your first time or like us regulars. The cottages vary in size to suit any family with an excellent swimming pool. A quiet location which is great for exploring Yorkshire moors, vale and dales.

Our weekend at Wren was just what we needed The cottage was lovely and dog friendly which pleased our old dog Lloyd
Old Oak Cottages have been converted to a high standard John and Amanda were very friendly and helpful if needed
It is situated out in the country with lots of walks but also just a short drive to lovely towns
