The River Waveney marks the border between Norfolk and Suffolk and Mendham Mill sits astride the river, surrounded by hundreds of acres of beautiful water meadows. The owners are on hand assisting visitors who wish to fish or make use of the canoes or rowing boat in the sparkling private waters of the river. With places like Southwold, Aldeburgh and Norwich all within easy reach Mendham Mill is ideally located.
Lovely holiday for our 3 generation party. Excellent bathroom for our disabled family member and generally very comfortable. Lovely views of the countryside, quiet and peaceful, and yet it's only 5 minutes walk from the pub! We'd definitely consider booking again.
We were in the Nest for the second time. It will not be the last time. The cottage, the gardens around the Mill, Suffolk and Norfolk are the reasons we will come back again and again. James and Nick are amazing hosts!
This was our 3rd stay in the Lodge in the same number of years, we love it that much. We love relaxing in the Lodge and garden and also around the Mill's gardens and river. James and Nick are really lovely people whose love and maintenance of the Mill is wonderful. Such joy to be able to stay once again. A big thank you both and to Lewis and Branni for being so welcoming and for the great chats. Already booked for next year.
We needed a venue that would accommodate all the family - three generations, including three teenagers around 16 years old. and the Miller's House was just right. We especially enjoyed using the boats on the river and the teenagers went off several times on their own after very good safely instructions and gave us a chance to relax in the courtyard and chat. We all had walks around the estate and appreciated the hard work that went into its restoration and maintenance.
