We had a great stay, well equipped cottage, great views, plenty of space, would definitely recommend
We had a lovely long weekend at Watson Cottage. The cottage had everything you could possibly need and it was warm and very comfortable. The hot tub was an added extra! It's a beautiful location with lots of things to do whatever the weather.
We had a wonderful holiday, the apartment is beautiful, with exceptional views. We really enjoyed ourselves and hope to return in the future.
Lovely location in the family estate, the accommodation over looks fields and woodland and was very well presented Access to many walks, not to far from all the well known Lakes and tourist attractions. For those who want to explore many roads off the beaten track with beautiful views . Recommended.
Lovely cottage in a great location with everything you could need provided. Easy to find and has the best of both worlds as it is in a rural location but also near town and attractions. Motorway very handy if you wanted to go further. Hosts helpful. Carlisle is an interesting town and lakes can be reached as well as Hadrians Wall so plenty to do and see.
I called and spoke to Tracey the day before we were due to arrive and was struck by how happy she sounded that we were coming despite never having met us which served to raise the excitement we already felt. We were greeted on arrival and given lots of information on the lie of the land and places to eat and shop then entered the cosiest homely, cottage on a dreary day to find everything ready for a hot cuppa with a sweet treat. There were logs and kindling ready by the fire and fresh flowers on the table, we immediately felt so welcome! We chose our rooms, unpacked everything finding homes...more
Wonderful stay in Cosy Cottage. It certainly lives up to its name with everything we could need! Fabulous central location so we could walk to all the bars and restaurants in Ambleside. Great to have a permit for car park nearby which although busy we had no problem finding a space when needed
We stayed here for 4 nights and received a warm welcome from Gemma. There were 2 bottles of wine and biscuits waiting for us in the cottage which was a nice touch. The cottage was lovely and the grounds were beautiful and great for our 2 wee dogs who loved running about. We used the games room every day. We are thinking of going back next year. The only downside to the cottage was not having a walk in shower for my elderly mum.
Beautiful, quiet n relaxing cottage. Very private and secluded . Never slept so well. Hot tub was a great advantage in the early evenings. Staff very friendly and helpfull. Will definitely go back as wished ive of had a few fly fishing lessons. 5⭐️
We had a great stay - we needed somewhere peaceful to stay because our dog is terrified of fireworks & Sparrows Nest was just perfect. It was also great for us too & had everything we needed to enjoy our visit. We have stayed in many lodges over the years & can honestly say that this was the nicest one we have ever stayed in & can highly recommend it.
Three generations of our family stayed here for a wonderful week in this super property. Super comfy beds for a great night's sleep after days out in the outdoors. Absolutely fabulous
Very responsive owner , lovely accomodation of high quality and great location. Everything worked properly, warm and comfortable.
The only thing the place is missing is decent wifi. The pictures you see are old pictures, the little decked patio is no longer there but that didn’t really matter because when we were outside we were making good use of the hot tub which ofcourse is now sheltered by a pergola! This place is good for if you want to get away from the world and focus on you and your partner, there is a 6 foot privacy fence surrounding with woods and a burn to the rear. Highly recommend!
The cottage was luxurious, well equipped and views were stunning. It was lovely being so close to the farm animals and being greeted each morning by the chickens roaming around the grounds and horses in the field next to the cottage. Tottergill farm has amazing wildlife too and we spotted deer several times during our stay. The hot tub and wood burning stove was perfect addition to the holiday experience. After spending our days out on walks or travelling to local attractions it was lovely to warm up in the hot tub. We were so relaxed by the end of our stay and would definitely book...more
We were blessed with amazing weather and waking up to the peaceful setting A joy. We had a full agenda and the location was so so covenant
Absolutely fantastic place great views in a morning lovey warm and toasty house absolutely needed nothing great location deffo booking again from booking with Cumbrian cottages to my stay the place is luxurious and great location for walks love the underfloor heating thanks
Superb accommodation of a very high standard in a great location with lovely views. A perfect place to stay. Thank you.
Checking in at 3pm 1st December to be met with a tastefully decorated Christmas tree in the lounge window, similarly decorated mantelpiece and alcoves immediately set the tone. Whoever was instrumental in this should be applauded! So really from there everything was going to be good and we weren’t disappointed. The cottage is very tastefully appointed, notably window blinds and wall art. The bedding is fantastic, enabling wonderful rest. We expected a little early morning traffic noise due to the super convenient location and main road position but Upvc double glazing and general comfort deal...more
This cottage has been beautifully converted from a stable block. Bedrooms comfortable and spotless. Large kitchen/dining room, and comfortable lounge with two big sofas. No problems, though the lounge stove can be a little bit smoky. Great location for Mungrisedale and the Caldbeck fells, easy enough access to Ullswater and Keswick. Very friendly welcome from the owners who live next door, who provided a nice Xmas tree, and a welcoming selection of basic provisions, wine, treats...
We had a wonderful Xmas week here. The furnishings and fittings are of the highest quality. The view of the tarn through the huge picture windows was a delight to wake up to each morning. We didn't venture far but did make it to Brampton and Carlisle, both very close by. Really good accommodation which I would recommend most highly.
We chose this house for our annual family Christmas celebration - three generations and a small dog. We had the most fantastic time from beginning to end. We felt that this house really had the wow factor that we were after, more than meeting our expectations. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas. All rooms are stylish, well presented and comfortable, making us feel at home straight away. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with quality appliances and plenty of space. Bedrooms are spacious and relaxing and bathrooms well appointed. The house is perfect for gathering around the fire ...more
We shared three wonderful days with family in this excellent bungalow which was exactly as advertised….stunning view and easy access to Pooley Bridge. Slight hiccup on the final morning when the electricity cut out but on contacting the office it was soon rectified. We would certainly return again.
If you’re looking for a quiet relaxing lovely chocolate box picturesque place to stay in winter, this is the place for you. Stunning views from the front door and comfortable home from home accommodation. Well appointed wonderful cottage and wouldn’t hesitate in booking again. I imagine in the other seasons that Grasmere is not so quiet but this suited us 100%. Although the delightful world renowned Sarah Nelson’s gingerbread shop is always well attended but definitely worth a visit. As is Wordsworth home & museum (we enjoyed a serendipitous one to one tour which probably is unlikely in the ...more
We had a fantastic stay at the cabin! It is easily accessible from the M6 and a great base for exploring the Lake District. The cabin itself was modern and clean - we had all the amenities we needed for our stay and they were all top of the range (especially the bed and kitchen)! We loved the privacy of the cabin/hot tub and the view across the estate was incredible! We will 100% stay here again - so glad we found this gem!
Great relaxing location with peaceful surroundings and comfortable accommodation. Plenty of room for two couples to catch up and explore the area. Close access to the motorway and train station.
A week spent at Hill Cottage is a week well spent. It feels like home from home, really well kitted out with everything you could want. The quality of the cookware was really good, the speck of the oven/microwave etc was top notch. And the shower was fabulous. So a hot day climbing mountains gets washed off with ease and comfort. I would thoroughly recommend a stay here to anyone visiting the Lakes.
Lovely accommodation with everything needed for a short stay. Clean and cosy with some nice little touch’s ie bottle of fizz, basket of jacuzzi, throw, marshmallows etc. Jacuzzi in private garden, nestled near a stream, saw an owl and squirrel on our visit. My husband had a lovely 60th weekend. Thank you. We will visit again for sure.
The Shepherds Hut is very cosy and great for getting away from it all. Maes Tearoom next door is fabulous and serves amazing food. I tried the bacon roll which was fully loaded plus the Sunday lunch which was truly wonderful. The welcome victoria sponge and rocky road were also to die for. The hut is compact so I was glad fo stay there alone as I personally feel it would have been cramped for 2 but then again I know some people would love it and find it very romantic. I absolutely love the area hence choosing to stay here and it did not disappoint. The only glitch was Storm Lilian but you can ...more
I would highly recommend Monkhouse Hill to anyone looking for accommodation in the North West lakes. The accommodation was spotless and very comfortable and the hot tub added an extra element of luxury that was perfect after a long day of exploring. The site is very well maintained and has stunning views over the Eden Valley. I'd also highly recommend a visit to the local village Caldbeck.
This is our second stay in the cottage this year and hoping to visit again soon. Great location about one mile outside Grasmere. The views from the cottage are amazing. Cottage itself is clean and comfortable with it's own parking.Gardens are kept tidy.
We love Grasmere and are so pleased we found this cottage. It's extremely spacious and central in Grasmere, everywhere is within walking distance and the parking permit means you don't have to worry about finding somewhere to park. Would definitely stay again.
Great service arranging our holiday and a few queries from Gail The accommodation was ideal with two bedroom on each floor , both en suite Located in the centre of the village but off the main thoroughfare suites us ideally Looking forward to returning in the Autumn
We stayed 3 nights at Church End and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The cottage is more spacious than it looks allowing plenty of room for privacy if wanted. The village has a wonderful market, pubs and is perfectly located for day trips to surrounding sites.
Little Parrock is located in a breathtaking location a short walk from Grasmere village. We were able to go on stunning walks directly from the house - Helm Crag, Easedale Tarn and beyond. The house itself has a fantastic kitchen/dining room - ideal for our families cooking and eating together. Very comfortable beds, excellent showers and a lovely relaxing atmosphere. Grasmere itself has wonderful independent shops, bakeries and restaurants. Highly recommend.
I was extremely lucky to have won a one night stay in a facebook competition! We arrived on a cold and sunny day with the snow still on the ground and the views were breathtaking! It is a gorgeous boathouse outside, and the inside doesn't disappoint either! It was very clean, beautifully decorated and had everything we needed for our break! I loved the copper bath and we enjoyed getting cosy by the wood burning fire! We slept with the shutters open so we were able to wake up with views across the lake....stunning!! I cant remember the last time we both felt so relaxed. I can imagine the boatho...more
Lovely, cosy lodge with great mod cons. We really enjoyed the peaceful outside space too. Perfectly located for exploring the areas around Ullswater, Penrith and the northern lakes. We would definitely stay here again.
Just returned from a fabulous week in Lake View. The property was ideally located for our intended walks, the views from the property were as scenic as we wanted. This really was a lovely break. The property is well laid out and had everything required for our self catering break. Some fixtures are becoming a little tired and some attention to these would go a long way to improving the condition of a lovely property, as would a thorough clean. All in all a wonderful stay.
Fantastic location, set in front of rolling hills on a working farm. Accommodation was more than sufficient for 4 people + a dog. Clean, tidy, well presented and great views. Friendly owners too.
Lovely little well looked after cottage . The owners had thought of everything from logs ,firelighters and matches to treats and a pint of milk . Aurora on three nights a bonus
It was a very relaxing place to stay and we would definitely go back. A few maintenance and cleaning bits to sort/improve with the towel radiator not heating, some lights not working, crumbs on the sofa, black mould around the edge of the shower floor but nothing that couldn’t be quickly resolved to improve the standard of this accommodation.
Great stay at Bluebell (name needs updating on Cumbrian Cottages), cabin absolutely perfect and we had a fantastic time! Only small issues were the hot tub took about 2.5 hours to get hot and then stuff floated out of the pipe into the water. This is first time using a wood fired tub so not sure if that's normal. Also a lot of flies around in summer months so very difficult to have doors/windows open.
we very much enjoyed our stay. we found it difficult to find Sians Retreat. This is only the name of the hut. So we were unsure if we where Sians Retreat is. the garden could be nicer.
The cottage itself is welcoming and unique, as was the owner who we spoke to the next morning. We didn’t get there until late because of a storm and it was really helpful that the key was left in the door. The cottage had most things we needed for a couple of nights but a larger chopping board, sharper knives and a kitchen sponge would have been extremely useful for cooking and wiping down the kitchen. The bedrooms are very big and guests have lots of space. My daughter loved the large bed! The view from the veranda is amazing and I imagine that it’s lovely to sit out there in the summer. My wife and I stayed in mid July 2024 and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The furniture is a bit dated but comfortable. The upside down layout makes for a warm stay and we were treated to bats outside the living room window at dusk each evening. There was a welcome pack of tea coffee cakes and milk in the fridge which is always a lovely touch when it happens. There is everything in the lodge, including a dishwasher, washing machine, iron and ironing board. The double bed is very big and comfortable and a hair dryer is also available. The lodge is a bit difficult to find at first, make sure you u...more
The property was easily located, parking is tight but some options close by. On first sight the property was very clean and welcoming with an excellent view down over the town and surrounding hills. The space was very good for two people, kitchen facilities were good, except for the fridge which had seen better days but still worked. However, the seating around the table was uncomfortable, don't think that garden/conservatory chairs were appropriate. A place to lounge after a day out walking was appreciated. The bathroom is small, and the shower floor was a little spongy and bouncy. The...more
Accommodation was comfortable. Disappointed to turn up and find no clean towels or linen. This was quickly fixed, though there was subsequent confusion when the cleaner turned up a day early. Attention to detail could be better ( some sinks blocked, instructions for rubbish could have been clearer). However, overall, this is a nice place in a lovely location, and good value for money.
