This was my first time in Fitzwilliam Lodge, having stayed in one of the other lodges previously. The lodge is really cosy, but spacious, and well equipped with everything you could need. Beds (and pillows) were comfortable and bedding was high quality and clean. There were a few cobwebs around the hanging light fittings, but otherwise very clean. The hot tub was amazing, always hot! The decked area is enclosed so the dog could run around without escaping. There is plenty of grassland around for the dog to run about on a long lead. Our third time back at Cambridgeshire Lakes did not disappoint and was a great way to spend my birthday. The lodges are superbly appointed, clean, warm and cosy and have everything you could possibly wish for, including a wonderful view across the Lake. Oh...and a hot tub too! The lodges are in the middle of farmland providing a peaceful environment to 'get away from it all'. However, Madingly park and ride into Cambridge is only 20 minutes away should you wish for an injection of city hussle and bustle. Also recommend the Eltisley pub in Eltisley on the A1040. 7th time coming to the lodges and my 2nd birthday spent here. Can’t recommend this place enough (excited to make an 8th trip!)
A lovely place to stay in the winter. We enjoyed the Christmas markets in Cambridge then returned to relax in the hot tub watching the wildlife. Highly recommended.
