We absolutely loved our stay here for a birthday get away. Everything you needed was all there and the bed was extremely comfortable as well as it being nice and dark with the overhead cover. Communication and instructions were super clear, we cant wait to go back!
The silos were perfect for our needs. Spacious and stylish accommodation, with lovely modern furniture, local art work on display and a cosy log burner. Everything was to a very high standard. The location was quiet and secluded, being away from the main house. This was our first visit to Suffolk and the location was perfect for exploring. We enjoyed lovely local walks to Framlingham and drives to Southwold and Aldeburgh were within 30 minutes. We highly recommend and would definitely visit again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Constable Cottage. It was very clean, well equipped and comfortable. It had everything we needed for a very pleasant stay. My partner loved it and was very happy with my choice for a long weekend break. The weather wasn't great when we was there but that didn't stop us from enjoying our time there.
The approach and the parking area was slightly disappointing but it is a farmyard. The cottage , garden and the grounds are beautiful. Having the lake and a boat was a bonus
We had 4 great days in this little gem of a house. Fabulous, eccentric decor with excellent attention to detail in the provision of all you need for your stay Very comfortable beds with lovely linen, great showers with lots of hot water, well appointed and equipped kitchen for those inclined to cook rather than visit local pubs or restaurants. Beware of steep stairs if you are not very agile! An excellent place to stay I will be recommending to all and sundry!
A beautiful relaxing space set in a very pretty location. Hosts are wonderful people who do their best to make you feel welcome. Can't wait to visit again in better weather!
What a dream come true, we stayed in Suffolk in the summer and as we are big Lovejoy fans we did a walk down to Belchamp Walter and passed Belchamp Hall. We knew the stables(Lovejoys old workshop) was available as holiday accommodation, so decided to come for a week at New Year. From start to finish we couldn’t have wished for a better stay, we have high expectations of the self catering accommodation we stay at, they have to be spotlessly clean, they have to be in good condition and most importantly everything has to work, this accommodation delivered on all fronts, it took a little while f...more
we had a lovely few days at stoke by nayland. box valley cottage was perfect for us, the cottage had been well thought out with nice touches, for example the speaker in the kitchen, nice to have the radio on with a cuppa in the mornings. our very timid dog even settled in quickly and enjoyed running in and out the enclosed rear garden. Welcoming pack was nice, really couldnt fault anything, we particularly liked the seating looking out on to the garden and luckily the weather was nice so we even got to sit on the garden bench before we headed out each day. there are nice walks around stoke b...more
A beautiful coach house with access to an enclosed courtyard and an enclosed orchard area so excellent for dogs too. The stairs are quite steep so need care . Would be good to have a bedroom mirror or dressing table. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The Dove House is easily found a few hundred yards off the A1071 and there is parking right outside the apartment. On arrival our host Jonathan had kindly put lights on to welcome us and there was a basket of milk, eggs, wine, biscuits etc. The Dove House is spacious, well designed, well equipped, warm and tastefully decorated. It would be hard to image a more pleasant place to stay.
Duke’s Lodge is just as described on the website. It’s a very old building so expect beams galore, rough plaster and creaking sloping floors! However almost all mod cons are here (apart from a dishwasher). The kitchen is well stocked, the sofas are comfy as are the beds. Quality bedding and towels are a bit of a bonus. The central heating is efficient and the log burner was a welcome treat in early March. The local shop and the nearby farm shop provided all the food and wine we wanted and the Bildeston Crown serves delicious food! ( not cheap but worth every penny!!)
Had a cracking time staying at the old mill. We cycled out from Sudbury station along tiny lanes - no car needed! The mill was an atmospheric and beautiful place to stay. All the fittings etc were high quality and comfortable. A few small comments- - the "welcome hamper" is quite minimal - which is fine! Just useful to understand - in particular there was only instant coffee - we assumed there would be fresh coffee so didn't order any in our food delivery...!! - it would be useful to have some washing up sponges, cleaning spray, and loo cleaner
Extremely clean cottage, great location. Someone was on hand to help us if any issues. Very beautiful cottage. 5/5 stars
We (couple in our sixties) stayed here for a week in May 2023. We have stayed in many self catering accommodation properties and this [along with the stables downstairs] rates as one of the very best. The Hayloft manages to be both cosy and spacious at the same time. The sofa is properly comfortable. The bed is properly big and comfortable. Kitchen well appointed. Quality of fittings high. Shower does tend to fling water all over the place and the Wifi is poor in the bedroom, but these things small fry compared to the pleasure of being there. Parking very easy. Hosts very hospitable ...more
We very much enjoyed our stay. The place is done up very nicely with great attention to detail. The welcome pack we found was very generous and very much appreciated and enjoyed. The bed is comfortable and bathroom and kitchen in very good condition. Garden area is also very pretty. Surrounding area is beautiful. Highly recommended.
Belchamp Hall coach house is a charming, quirky place to stay and it was a privilege to be able to stay there. Don’t miss the beautiful walks straight from the house!
Enjoyable stay, excellent facilities and good location. Would stay again. Parking is difficult if you have a large car.
Lovely location - quiet and comfortable. Hosts were most welcoming and helpful. Super experience. Recommend to all.
We had a great stay over New Year. It was a privilege to stay in such a historic place which was full of character. There were a couple of small things that let it down though. The downstairs shower room was not very clean and in particular the extractor fan which was totally clogged. We were left a small welcome pack which included 3 individual jams which were all partly used and had to be thrown away. We felt that for a weeks stay perhaps more logs, fire lighters and toilet rolls would have been provided. We were of course told to phone with any issues but felt we wouldn’t as it was over new...more
Lovely cottage in quiet area close to many places to visit. Very dog friendly. Well equipped and great outdoor space
12 members of our family stayed here and at stable cottage for a week and we all thoroughly enjoyed our holiday! We found the properties to be well equipped and spacious. The pool was a massive hit with everyone- both in the sunshine and the rain! The location was great, quiet and peaceful although within easy reach of many places of interest. We would definitely return and would highly recommend.
You have everything you need, beds are comfy. Minor comments, a hand towel in the kitchen would be good, the TV is a bit small as it's a fair distance from the sofa. Lastly this is disabled specific, the rugs in the room aare all a trip hazard. Personally I think the barn would be better with no rugs.
We stayed as a couple for a short weekend getaway. The property is really well designed and quite unique - great to read the history of how it was converted. The main positive is the setting - in such beautiful countryside with wonderful views from the windows. We enjoyed just sitting and looking out for hours. It was really quiet and peaceful - just what we were looking for - but also close to local pubs and a short drive to lovely villages. The hosts were also very responsive and we had a great welcome pack of goodies. Would loved to have stayed longer if we could so that’s a rec...more
This would be our second cottage booked through Idyllic. Our first cottage was perfect. Sadly, this wasn’t. Firstly, the kitchen appeared to have been overlooked during the cleaning ahead of our stay. Many surfaces were covered in dirty stains and finger marks and the small Nespresso machine was filthy, with used pods still left in situ. We felt we needed to clean all the utensils before we could use them. We checked before booking that this cottage accepts a dog. It does, but there is an access path from a neighbouring property. We often found the neighbour actually walking up an...more
