This is an excellent cottage in beautiful peaceful surroundings which has been furnished to a high standard with everything you could need. Richard was a very friendly sociable host with lots of local knowledge and was very happy to help at all times. The welcome pack was full of lovely local produce and much appreciated. There is a very good cafe (great breakfasts) and a friendly pub in the village. There is lots of walking in the surrounding area with and the Cheviots are within easy reach - the coast is very accessible too. This was our first visit and we will hopefully be back again.
This is our third stay in these beautiful cottages and another absolute joy. We keep coming back because they are set in the most peaceful and gorgeous part of the Northumberland countryside, but only a short drive away from all that the county has to offer. It’s a perfect base for exploring either on foot, bike or car. The friendly, efficient and stress-free welcome from Fiona, Richard and Jonny is amazing from booking to the time you leave - nothing is too much trouble and they are committed to you having a wonderful time. Stayed here for a family get together. Beautiful location with outstanding views. Accommodation was spotlessly clean upon arrival. Had everything we needed in the kitchen area. Beds really comfortable with really top quality bedding. Lovely pub and cafe a short walk away. Richard went out of his way beforehand hand to ensure that everything was set up for our arrival. Will be returning in the summer and I would not stay anywhere else in the area now.
Wow! Gardener’s cottage surpassed our expectations - honestly the photos do not do it justice. The cottage is extremely well equipped with lovely, comfortable furniture and a beautiful, spacious shower room. There are countryside views from every window and 2 private seating areas, a patio overlooking the shared garden and a decked area overlooking fields - stunning. We travelled with our mountain bikes and the alarmed storage facilities are superb - we had 2 excellent off road rides from the door, one followed the near by Sandstone Way.
