We were recommended by a friend, and the property did not disappoint ! A wonderful location with breathtaking views from the cottage making it a delight to sit in the lovely garden, that is practical and secure for any dog guests! Perfect peace!!The well designed interior is light and spacious and beautifully furnished, comfy sofas and well equipped kitchen, a thoughtful welcoming pack was left for us and a supermarket shop received and unpacked for our arrival! Had an absolutely lovely week staying in The Gardener's Cottage. The property was a perfect base from which to explore the local countryside. It was very clean, well equipped and spacious. The views were amazing and it was lovely to look across to the Cheviots after a day out walking amongst them. We would highly recommend the short walk to Ingram where there is a lovely cafe as well as a trip to Ad Gerfin distillery in Wooler. We stayed in the Coach House with our three little kids and it was absolutely lovely. The cottages are in a really beautiful setting, with a gorgeous view, and are in a great location. There was plenty for the kids to do at the cottage nearby, with Alnwick being a very short drive away. The cottage itself was really well fitted out, with everything you could need and very comfy beds!
Spent a very enjoyable autumn break at The Kennelman in Powburn - three couples plus 2 dogs. Location is pretty good for exploring Cheviots and the coast - around 20 min drive to Alnwick, 35 mins to Bamburgh and 40 mins to Holy Island. Richard and Fiona were very friendly and attentive and sorted out everything we asked for. The property is adaptable with 2 bedrooms on the ground floor with separate bathrooms and an optional third with ensuite up a flight of stairs. The ground floor bedrooms are not huge and storage space is very limited but beds are comfy and heating / ventilation all good....more
