My wife and I had a lovely long weekend break with our dog. The cabin we stayed in was clean and warm on arrival, and we were lucky to have good weather which meant we could take full advantage of the garden and lake. It was great to have access to the paddle boards and canoe. It was lovely to have access to the cafe for breakfast and evening food with a small but well chosen selection of items on the menu featuring a lot of local (home grown) produce.
Beautiful garden and surroundings. Cabin very comfortable and clean. Cafeteria and seating area outside great. Washing up area could be slightly better equipped. Can definitely recommend.
Just what I needed for a brief rest and recuperation. Couldn’t have asked for more. Remote enough to feel disconnected but near enough to some beautiful spots on the north Norfolk coast. Would definitely visit again.
We loved our stay so magic warm and cosy ,The only comment , ie How would you get into the bathroom if a issue arose with the hook system , apart from that excellent fire lit easy everything was provided no hassle ,The cafe was so nice and staff was excellent in every way , l can truly say a wonderful experience for us all ❤ we had a four year old and it was magical for her she did not want to leave ,That l think say it all.
We stayed in a cabin at West Lexham while we did a yoga retreat- it was beautiful! The cabin was small but perfectly furnished, and the little bathroom was stunning! The place is absolutely gorgeous and so peaceful. We would definitely come back with our families.
This is the second retreat I've held at West Lexham and it really is an ideal venue in beautiful surroundings. The Barn yoga space is great with its heated floor and lots of light coming in and there's plenty of room around the dining table and seating space for everyone to gather. I did ask my retreaters for feedback and quite a few commented on the cleanliness of their rooms - lots of dust and cobwebs! Whilst the rooms are lovely a few of them are looking a bit tired which is disappointing given the hire cost. We also found that the lighting in the seating area made it difficult to ...more
I really enjoyed the stay - the treehouses are cosy and thoughtfully organised. The food was also very good. Local area has some nice walks and good pubs. Thanks
We needed somewhere close to Kings Lynn Hospital as father in law was taken there . Arrived late on the Friday evening by lovely member of staff the took us down to our cabin . So lovely and snug and daughter loved the cosy mattress on floor. Everything was so clean and tea/coffee in room. We had no en suite but no problem as washroom was so close and exceptionally clean. While my husband went to the hospital me and my daughter were able to make full use of all the facilities and had a fun filled day playing badminton, paddle boarding, swimming and sitting in the sunshine reading! (This defin...more
Lovely grounds, peaceful and very relaxing. Great location to use for exploring the Norfolk north coast, should you want to leave site. It was just what we wanted. The only thing I would add in order to improve Tinker tree house is some form of running water in the house along with some food cooling facility. The cool box was not quite good enough for the job.
We had a wonderful stay at sunrise treehouse which was equipped with everything we needed including a small kitchen with all utensils, pots & pans and a kettle. Check in, check out was seamless. The treehouse had a magical feel with lots of fairy lights, my daughter felt like she was in a fairytale. It had a large wood burning fire which kept us warm and cosy. There was a generous supply of wood to last us all weekend. There was a lovely garden cafe serving up delicious wood fired pizzas. Food choice was limited but it’s in a great location with some lovely pubs nearby that were recommende...more
We stayed at the Quercus Tree House for 2 nights with our 2 boys. They were very excited to stay in a treehouse, as were their parents. The grounds were lovely, with plenty to see and do, but also very quiet. The staff were great and were always on hand. Bonfire in the evening with marshmallows whilst star gazing was also nice with the family.
Overall a great stay, treehouse was super cute, and the boys enjoyed toasted marshmallows for breakfast and dinner! The grounds were lovely, and we made use of the badminton, boat, cafe and Chinese gardens.
I went on a retreat day which was absolutely fabulous. The grounds and facilities were outstanding. We booked to stay in a bell tent as it was quite a distance to go for just the day. I know its glamping but for the price i was expecting a little more. Firstly there were 4 tents situated very close to each other. I thought having 22 acres they would have been spaced out more giving everyone a little more privacy and space to themselves. The tents were ok inside, nothing special. Even though the weather was warm the bedding provided was very thin and we got very cold in the night. Don'...more
I needed the break as I an currently going through a traumatic period in my life. It was a restful experience as the surroundings were wonderful. The whole area is well looked after and highly maintained. The maintenance man worked very hard. I specifically came to rest and swim and I was not disappointed. Although on my last day the swimming pool was out of action. The only negative, but to some it could be a positive, is the lack of wifi and phone signal. I had every intention of doing online yoga classes but this was not possible due to the lack of services. I want to visit again.
I wanted a relaxing holiday where the kids could find entertainment on site and West Lexham delivered with the swimming pool, ball games and boats. The Bell tent was comfortable and the communal kitchen useful. The grounds are beautiful too and the ability to choose between a wild swim and the pool on a hot day was brilliant.
We had such a lovely relaxing time. The bell tent was so cosy in a beautiful setting. The grounds are so lovely with beautiful gardens and fruit trees. We had fun swimming in the lake, trying out the paddle boards and rowing along the lake in the boats. It was great to see life jackets supplied. The outdoor kitchen was very useful and the restaurant building was a great place to unwind, with nooks to read and games to play. The food in the restaurant was amazing, with lovely continental breakfasts we had the mist delicious Roast pork meal that was even better than a pork dish we had at the ...more
My group had a lovely time at the retreat and the feedback was great when it came to the yoga, grounds and food. However, the feedback was consistent when it came to the accommodation. The main points were - Rooms were just a bit tired - Cobwebs and dust were very visible - Shower heads had bad pressure like there was too much limescale buildup - Yoga bolsters were very dirty and stained All things that can be easily fixed, so thought I'd share. Also, it was my first time running a retreat at the venue and I was left on my own. I had no idea where the hall and accommodation we...more
This was our third visit - 4 of us Absolutely love the place / washing facilities excellent and the new cook this year was great. Also the clearing of the land to allow appreciation of the old gardens was a joy to discover. The only issue is that we all felt the bell tents have got old and dirty. Also the linen was clean but stained and the lovely fairy lights that had been there in previous years had disappeared. In summary the tents need an uplift
Location beautiful. Expect things from the trees falling on the tent. Sheep and running water are v close but also very lovely. Getting in and out of tent door was difficult for me and only single bed could be accessed by me - but I should have guessed that would be the case. Plenty to do during the day, rowing on the lake - YOU NEED SOME NEW BOATS - AND OARS - swimming in the large and warm pool, walking to the kitchen garden and the church, eating and chatting at the cafe. And in the evening BBQ’s and fire pits to sit by. Toilet and shower block v good. Staff lovely and central underco...more
A great find in a beautiful spot. We really enjoyed everything West Lexham offered. Very relaxing and calm place.
We had a lovely long weekend at West Lexham Glamping. We booked 5 Bell tents for 5 separate families. The tents are great, the grounds are beautiful and the children loved the pool. The bathrooms are really lovely and the kitchen facilities were fine for what we needed. One evening we had a bbq and one evening we ate in the garden kitchen resturant which was delicious and a great service. The only suggestions for improvements would be having somewhere communal we could sit when it rained and having more facilities to dry out wet things from the beach and the pool.
