What a fantastic stay in an amazing place. We were really pleased with our cabin, and even more impressed with what the grounds and overall venue had to offer. I booked this a retreat for me and the wife but will definitely rebook to bring the kids along. The staff were very helpful and friendly along with the other guests and we didn’t want for anything. Everything was immaculately clean and loved walking the grounds in the evening, everywhere you turned there was something to look at. The only downside was the cafe not being open but the access to communal BBQ and hob etc was brilliant.
My mum got us a 2 night mini break for a Christmas present we stayed in the Bask Cabin, it was very clean and comfortable lovely and warm we didn’t need the extras provided ie water bottles and blankets we loved there was no TV as we wanted this as a recharge just to relax and do some walking which the walks were so peaceful and beautiful we loved the lake and bridges and the little Japanese garden, we now want to get this as a gift for my parents and we would definitely be doing this again *****
A wonderful space for a yoga retreat. The Barn and the bedrooms were perfect. The grounds beautiful. The staff were very helpful and friendly. All of my guests really enjoyed their stay at West Lexham, as did I.
Wonderful cosy treehouse in beautiful location, so lovely to be able to canoe on the river as a guest on the property!
A beautiful spot with a great choice of places to stay - from bell tents and cabins to tree houses and barns. We love the rowing boats on the lake and the relaxed & quirky nature of the place.
I hosted a 2-night yoga retreat in the Village Hall and couldn't recommend it more strongly. The space was cosy and warm with the glow of the log burner adding to the relaxation. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The accommodation was warm, comfortable and felt very homely, and the staff on site were excellent, always on hand when we needed assistance. I will absolutely be back in future to retreat at West Lexham again.
West Lexham is heaven on earth. You relax as soon as you park your car. It’s just the best place. Quirky, comfy and laidback, Norfolk personified. We love coming here and will always return. Cannot recommend it highly enough.
Rodent issues in property. Quite rundown in places. The large group that arrived made visiting outside kitchen and cafe area uncomfortable, felt like we were not supposed to be there. Large group loud and took over facilities! Lucky I brought my own camping cooker and was able to make food on picnics bench on balcony. Was lovely and quiet the first night. Swimming pool was wonderful. Gardens are stunning and well kept. Shower block very clean but most showers were not working. The holiday was an expensive treat for us and I would probably not do glamping again in an overpriced shed...more
it was such an amazing time, beautiful lake gardens with a very friendly Robin who came and help us cook and wash up. Such a place of peace and enjoying the wonder of creation. A real garden of Eden type experience Beautifully kept gardens and the lake was stunning with huge friendly carp seen every morning. Happily feeding whilst I played my guitar. Also paddle boarding badminton and rowing on and around the lake (may want to change the rollicks on the rowing boats) Such fun in the swimming pool and seem to hold a good temperature even though outside. We also toasted marshmallow at ...more
This was our second time visiting and we had a great time. Sunrise treehouse perfect for our family of 5 and the garden washrooms are immaculate and never too busy. Very comfortable beds with the comfiest duvets! We love the wood burner and whole decor of the treehouse. My son braved a quick swim in the pool which was great. Shame the restaurant isn't currently open but good facilities for our own BBQ so wasn't an issue in practice. The rowing boats need some TLC as they weren't really usable in the way they were when we last visited in 2020. Great location for visiting North Norfolk. We would...more
We had a lovely stay in Roost Cabin over May half term. Despite the rainy weather, the cabin was dry and cosy and we were able to dry wet clothes on the radiator. The cabin was very comfortable and we felt we had enough space even with the extra mattress on the floor. We love staying at West Lexham and we are sure to be back!
Heavenly. Even despite rainy weather, we had the most amazing time and will certainly be back. The location is SO beautiful. Such a lot of thought and effort has clearly been put in. The treehouses are rustic, but charming. We loved it. The only thing I missed was a cafetière, or other method of making a ‘proper’ coffee, particularly in the absence of the cafe. Also the rowing boat could use a little tlc.
I went on a retreat day which was absolutely fabulous. The grounds and facilities were outstanding. We booked to stay in a bell tent as it was quite a distance to go for just the day. I know its glamping but for the price i was expecting a little more. Firstly there were 4 tents situated very close to each other. I thought having 22 acres they would have been spaced out more giving everyone a little more privacy and space to themselves. The tents were ok inside, nothing special. Even though the weather was warm the bedding provided was very thin and we got very cold in the night. Don'...more
Stayed with young children in the treehouse. We had a very warm welcome and immediate help from the site staff when we had questions or needs. Lovely to have heating and an ensuite in a tree…!. “Kitchen” fairly limited but nice to have your own little fridge freezer but there’s not enough space and light to prepare a meal or do the washing up so we just used the much more spacious and bright garden kitchen, where the kids could run around and we could enjoy the beautiful gardens even more. So much bird life to watch and listen to, especially at dawn and dusk. The kids were fascinated The tree...more
Overall we really enjoyed our stay. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained and the staff we did encounter were polite and friendly. Unfortunately there was a large group staying onsite that were very loud during the day and throughout the night which did impact the overall atmosphere. The staff did address this on the Saturday however and the second night was improved! The communal bathrooms were clean however we did not get any hot water throughout our stay in the showers other than our first night. The kitchen we well equipped but we did need to wash everything we wished to use w...more
We had an amazing stay at west Lexham. Our children really wanted a camping experience and this was the perfect compromise. Comfortable beds and amazing shower facilities. Even managed a relaxing hot bubble Bath one evening. The tents were well equipped with with blankets and hot water bottles. The only downside would be in the mornings the tent felt quite damp probably a combination of sleeping bodies and the cold morning air so not a major issue. Perfect place to go off grid from technology. Really enjoyed the pool, the boating lake and the fire pit. Our family dog had some great long ...more
Excellent all round one suggestion would be to buy a bigger toaster in the restaurant 4 of us had toast for breakfast but it took ages for the waitress to cook the toast.
2nd time back and not dissapointed, a perfect place to unwind, reconnect, deeply relax and recharge, a small group who had sadly picked the wrong place for their holiday plans where quickly delt with and peace was restored, can't wait to come back
This is the second time I’ve been here, first time in a cabin and now in a bell tent and neither have disappointed, the location is just beautiful, with lots of on site entertainment and local places to visit. The rooms are extremely comfortable and perfect for a remote getaway.
great place to stay with lake, swimming pool, paddle boards and boat to use. A wonderful sunny 5 days spent here
We had a lovely long weekend at West Lexham Glamping. We booked 5 Bell tents for 5 separate families. The tents are great, the grounds are beautiful and the children loved the pool. The bathrooms are really lovely and the kitchen facilities were fine for what we needed. One evening we had a bbq and one evening we ate in the garden kitchen resturant which was delicious and a great service. The only suggestions for improvements would be having somewhere communal we could sit when it rained and having more facilities to dry out wet things from the beach and the pool.
