Stylishly well-appointed, characterful and intimate; three converted holiday cottages on a friendly, family-run private farming estate in the heart of the Shropshire countryside, just 20-minutes from the beautiful medieval county town of Shrewsbury. The onsite Spa and swimming pool are wonderful for that perfect relaxing break.
From the moment your first welcomed with complimentary home-made cake by Rachel and Gerry, the on-site owners, Burlton Cottages offer idyllic, unspoilt escapism - a perfect rural retreat. Open all year (arrive and leave on dates of your choice), bring the kids (cots, high chair and games available) and bring the dog (enjoy stunning country walks right from your door, with abundant wildlife every step of the way).
We’d stayed at the cottages many times before and weren’t disappointed this time round! Burlton Cottages provide for everyone of all ages, plus the dog. The enclosed gardens are ideal and the lovely warm, clean pool is a particular highlight. We had a fabulous dinner at the local pub, which is within easy walking distance. Thanks Rachel and family for making our stay so comfortable, we’re already planning our return!
I stayed Easter 2025 with 13 family members having booked all four cottages. The accommodations were very clean, tidy, and well equipped. We cooked and ate as a group on numerous evenings in the Studio. The kitchen was a little small to cook for fourteen people, but it had everything required. The studio building was just about large enough to house a table for fourteen, a table tennis table, and storage space fo...more
Such an easy property for a wheelchair user and family. Accessible accommodation, beautiful views but private use of swimming facilities with the provision of a hoist topped off the stay for us. We could just relax and enjoy time together with plenty of choice of places to visit and eat. Rachel and her family are so welcoming and attention to detail both generally and in terms of access provision made our holiday. Would recommend to anyone, but particular people needing the extra facilities of accessible accommodation.
We had a nice stay at the Courtyard after booking a last minute holiday. The spa was wonderful, being able to book sessions made it very easy to use and it was impeccably clean. The beds in the cottage were super comfortable and it was very handy using the drying room to get our swimming stuff dry.
The dog field was really handy, clean and secure. It was fun to use the table football. The WiFi was very temperamental but didn’t improve. We walked to the pub for a meal and people were very nice there and food was good. Great location to visit lots of interesting places. It’s definitely suited ...more
Hi Burlton was the birthplace of my family five generations ago, they worked hard and fought hard, they run the Burlton inn.
God brought me to the Burlton Spa if by chance as i was constantly receiving messages from God to repair myself and that i suffered enough but as usual i always care and love everything and everyone around me focusing on them and not me.
I went in the pool, gym and literally did nothing except spend time with my partner no phones but one exception her laptop as she loves her job i made that sacrifice although i wish she didn’t have to work and we can then enjoy the wor...more
