Stylishly well-appointed, characterful and intimate; three converted holiday cottages on a friendly, family-run private farming estate in the heart of the Shropshire countryside, just 20-minutes from the beautiful medieval county town of Shrewsbury. The onsite Spa and swimming pool are wonderful for that perfect relaxing break.
From the moment your first welcomed with complimentary home-made cake by Rachel and Gerry, the on-site owners, Burlton Cottages offer idyllic, unspoilt escapism - a perfect rural retreat. Open all year (arrive and leave on dates of your choice), bring the kids (cots, high chair and games available) and bring the dog (enjoy stunning country walks right from your door, with abundant wildlife every step of the way).
We booked all 3 cottages for 3 couples, it was really good as we could all eat at the larger cottage which had room - but we all still had our own accommodation, the additional benefit was we had access to the indoor swimming pool complex all day.
The location was central so you could drive to visit a number of tourist destinations.

I booked a last minute break with my daughter and her dog. Rachel’s communication was brilliant and very informative. We stayed in the Courtyard which was perfect for the two of us. This was our second time staying at Burlton cottages, and it was another great visit. The cottages are nice and clean, decorated very well, and with the right amount of amenities such as pots and pans, glasses et cetera
A real benefit is the spa complex on site, which has a lovely warm pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room.
At the moment, the gym is not available. There is however a lady who comes on site to give massages and other treatments, which is a real bonus.
This is unlikely to be our last visit, it is a very enjoyable place to stay.
A very comfortable stay, good quality beding and towels & well stocked kitchen.
Excellent pool facilities with a good pool booking system.
Good location for walking & very good
Local pub food
Always a friendly welcome from Rachel.
