Airhouses is the perfect place to unwind. It is one of Scotland's undiscovered gems with a quiet beauty which changes with the Seasons.
The Capercaillie is in a great location with beautiful views. The town of Lauder had everything needed with independent shops and the Coop, pubs, golf course. The house is spacious and well laid out with plenty of equipment. The pre arrival information was detailed and clear. We ordered from Carol fruit and vegetable boxes and wine beforehand which were all there on our arrival. The fruit and veg boxes were high quality. During our stay we also ordered beer via the Airhouse website which Damian brought round to the house. Carol was very helpful over our unusual plan to roast a suckling pig du...more
The Lamont was a beautiful “home from home”. The views were spectacular and the hot tub was in the perfect spot to enjoy the view with a morning coffee and a book. Damian and the team have thought of everything you might need - there is an app so you can plan your activities for the week, board games and books in the apartment, a toy room for kids, lots of animals on sight, a lovely well-maintained walk around the perimeter of the farm, and so on. We asked damian for assistance whilst we were there and he went above and beyond to help out. There is so much to do in the local area that we only ...more
This was a return visit to the Buchanan and we certainly were not disappointed !
As usual everything was perfect, even the weather. The bedding and towels are spotless, lovely toiletries too. The accommodation is very comfortable. We were kept entertained by the baby goats!
We will be returning as soon as we can.
Thank you to all the team at Airhouses !
You have something very special there !
If you value peace, relaxation and bbq, this is the place for you. The setting is lovely, with lots of animals to make friends with. Not far from Edinburgh if the mood takes you, but there is plenty to do locally without going into the city. The owners are great. We love the bbq hut and it offered fabulous shelter from the gusting wind! It is such a novelty to be able to cook really good food on charcoal without worrying about what the weather is doing. We also ordered meat boxes which were in the fridge on arrival, all of which was of a good quality. The hot tub was also amazing. If you need ...more
We have been lots of times to Airhouses and we never tire of the place. It’s well placed for access to the attractions of Edinburgh and the Borders. Beautiful setting with terrific views across the valley and hills down towards Lauder. All four lodges and the Capercaillie house are well appointed to take advantage of this. This time we were in The Lodge for two people and Damien popped down to welcome us when we arrived which was nice. He was friendly and helpful so were the staff. It had everything you need and more from the best shower I have ever come across to a comfortable queen bed, ...more
We thoroughly enjoyed living in the Hawthorn Pod. Very ‘high tech’ but easy to understand.
However I did think some of the correspondence/ emails were designed to be understood by the lowest common denominator. I did not mind paying £500 (quite expensive) for three nights self catering in a Glam Pod but would expect to be treated more like a responsible individual.
