We were working nearby, 4 of us, and this accommodation suited us perfectly ... peace, quiet, comfort, freedom, and everything provided for a self catering relaxed stay .. The stunning location and proximity to our work was an added bonus ... Highly Recommended ..
Peaceful and located in the beautiful Scottish countryside. Perfect getaway and only 15 minutes from the coast. Snooker, table tennis and various games to play, plenty of dog walking areas. Fox Cottage itself is perfect for two couples or a family with great views. Looking forward to going again.
This was our 3rd visit to Hare Cottage and Kirkwood. We went with friends this time as we always find it relaxing, peaceful and a good place to unwind and recharge. One friend enjoyed long cycle rides from the farm to the coast and the rest of us had long walks to the river and around the farm in general, also playing snooker, darts and table tennis in the games room. As previously the cottage was clean, comfortable and fully equipped for a week's stay. Anthony was on hand to answer any questions if we had any questions or concerns but generally guests are left to enjoy the surroundings. ...more
As fishermen we did not spend a lot of time in the cottage but it had all we required for a comfortable stay. It was clean and rooms were a very good size. Would definitely stay again.
There’s nothing to match Kirkwood for the personal touch, constant improvements, cosy home from home comforts, dog friendly holidays, mushroom picking and locality. Returning yet again and this time we noticed the games room has been updated and new furnishings in the cottage which is described as a 2 star but feels more like a 3. Wifi was very good, very well equipped kitchen, main bed very comfortable- the mattress on one of the twins could do with replacing. The nearby Thai and Thales/gin bar are still there and there’s a Tesco and Aldi at Lockerbie and Annan but don’t expect to get any jus...more
Lovely places to visit, excellent walks through the woods and estate. Lucky enough for cloudless night skies, amazing star watching. All staff we met were helpful and fun. Very peaceful early morning coffee in garden was a lovely start to our busy days exploring.
Set off the beaten track in lovely woodland, the cottage was perfect for our need to get away from it all. Lovely walks along the river each evening and a real fire to come back to. Slightly more than we usually pay but it wouldn't put me off returning.
