We stayed at Dalton Green for a week with family and friends. The farmhouse is fitted to an exceptional standard. The bedrooms were all beautifully presented as was the living areas. The owners provide everything you would need for your stay even down to coffee pods for the coffee machine. There are 2 lounge areas (1 formal), a large dining room. The kitchen is a great social area and has an abundance of crockery, utensils, pans etc with a stunning Aga. The owners make the stay extra special and can’t do enough for you while also allowing you space and leave to enjoy your stay. Quad bikin...more
We had a great week here, with teenagers through to octogenarians. Anthony and Sue were great, very helpful and accommodating. COVID precautions were sensible but not intrusive. We walked, cycled, mountain-biked, went to the beach, fed lambs, played cricket, snooker, darts and ping pong, quad-biked and barbequed. Bliss.
Really lovely place, on a courtyard with 4 other houses. We were 2 families in a house each and there were 3 other families in the other houses. Kids all played together outside and in the sports room which is fab for poor weather. Quad biking was great fun and the hosts were really friendly and happy to help with anything we needed. Definitely recommend
The two weeks we've been here went so quickly, it felt as if it was only two days! The staff is so friendly and helpful, the area is so peaceful, and yet, there's so much to do.
Just managed to stay at the cottage for a last minute mushroom picking weekend and we were so pleased. We arrive after work on Friday and left Sunday but it was worth it. We found the cottage spotless, well equipped, comfy. The WiFi worked well. The games room and park were in operation. We went to Lockerbie chippy and the Gin distillery and the Thai Orchid but also had lovely meals using the chanterelles, ceps and other mushrooms we found around the site. See you next year!
I have stayed here before, a few years ago, and it was exactly as I remembered it. I returned because I enjoyed previous visits, and I was not disappointed thus time.
Set off the beaten track in lovely woodland, the cottage was perfect for our need to get away from it all. Lovely walks along the river each evening and a real fire to come back to. Slightly more than we usually pay but it wouldn't put me off returning.
Super sized cottage and garden in a quiet setting. Walking distance from the Thai and Gin distillery and a short drive to civilisation. Could do with a spring clean but everything works well and the kitchen is great.
