We had a wonderful stay in Bramley Cottage at Mazzard farm. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful and the cottage very well set up for young families with all baby and toddler equipment provided (high chair, stair gate etc). Our 2 year old loved the trampoline, paddling pool, play equipment and toys, and had so much fun feeding the goats and pigs. There were fresh scones, clotted cream and home made jam waiting for us on arrival which was lovely after a long journey. We opted for the breakfast hamper to save us having to go out shopping immediately and everything was delicious. Ruud a...more
We stayed at Pippin cottage during half term week, the cottage was very comfortable and cosy but bright and airy in the day. Opening the doors from the kitchen into the courtyard for breakfast was a treat. Every facility has been well thought out and if its not in the cottage, then the laundry room has absolutely everything to borrow that you can think of. Its a charming friendly place, ideal for families and couples alike.
Three friends and I came here for a quiet writing weekend , having been here two years ago for the same purpose,. We belong to a small poetry group. Mazzard Farm is the perfect place for a creative retreat out of season. It’s peaceful, comfortable (warm even when it’s freezing outside), beautifully appointed and we loved the flexibility of the two-cottage accommodation, which gave us plenty of space. Also, the cream tea was delicious. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in this area (and it’s a great base for Devon, Somerset and Dorset.) It would also suit familie...more
Comfortable, clean and very well presented holiday cottage in a very pleasant countryside location. Excellent for exploring the local area. I would like to compliment Mazzard Farm on the extensive garden with looked like a children's paradise and it is a place we will be recommending to our grandchildren. The only downside is that upstairs would have been a bit tight for someone over 6 foot in height. I mentioned this to Rudd and he said some of the other, larger cottages had higher ceiling. and would more suitable for tall people.
We have just returned from a 7 night stay at Mazzard Farm. We had a great time! We had two cottages, Medlar and Pippin. The cottages were lovely, nothing massive but perfect for a week away. Both had doors out onto the court yard which was ideal for the kids to play in the toy shed without us having to worry. The setting is very real, not just a holiday park.. Lovely little trek through the woods, including a tipi and fire pit. There is a pen with chickens, ducks, goats and a couple of pigs which were a highlight for the 2 boys. There is also a big climbing frame, a kids football pitc...more
Our fifth visit to Mazzard Farm. My grandchildren adore this peaceful place and look forward to going all year. It is an ideal environment for young children and an excellent base for exploring the Jurassic coast. Ruud and Jack always make us very welcome.
We were only one week in one of the apartments of Mazzard Farm (old stables, very nicely rebuilt in apartments) Only, because there was so much to do. The list of things to do they sent us was endless! also the less famous beaches were very nice. We enjoyed being there very much. For the children (5 and 6 years old) was it like paradise!
