One of the nicest cottages we’ve ever stayed in! Beautifully designed, decorated and equipped with a huge and incredibly comfortable bed. Set in its own grounds alongside West End Farm (which we were lucky enough to get a look at and which I’m currently saving up for!) There were koi carp and sheep and a beautiful ex racehorse plus the dogs were delighted with the secure dog paddock. Highly recommend!
Wow! Where to start with West End Farm. We booked this venue not only due to how impressive and beautiful it looked but also due to its proximity to some family members who are unable to travel far. And it absolutely exceeded our expectations. Everything from the hot tub, to the various reception rooms (including the fantastic bar) meant it was the perfect hosting venue for a Hen Do! Molly and Duncan went above and beyond to ensure we had the best weekend possible and it truly was! Massive thank you to the Unique Retreats team for making it so special. We had vendors and suppliers coming in th...more
The stay was incredible, 15 of us came to celebrate our grandads 80th birthday. The property and grounds was amazing to say the least. The new addition of the indoor pool and hot tub really was such a special surprise as this had only just been completed. All the amenities were brilliant. Throughout the say the hosts were always very quick to respond and nothing was too much trouble. We would 100% stay here again in a heart beat. A couple of recommendations/additions to the property would be based on accessibility for anyone with any mobility issues. In the lodge there is a slight slope/ra...more
Perfect. Great views and well located for the town. Very dog friendly house and garden, Rufus loved the dog park. The quality of the cottage was outstanding with everything you could want provided. Very clean and spacious but cosy too.. Fabulous welcome pack. Lots of walks from the cottage and nearby: the North Yorlk Moors were a revelation - expansive moors and a lovely coastline. Everywhere we went dogs were welcome even Eden Camp. Plenty to do and see. Highly recommended.
It is a loverly house, in a amazing location. And close to Whitby. We also found some great restaraunts. And had a great week. Thank-you Moll and Lewis.
We had a 7 night stay, lovely location, far enough outside Whitby very comfortable, lovely views and a little gem, all you need and clean. Hosts very friendly. Maizie our Cockapoo really did enjoy her stay especially her own little welcome hamper as we did ours. We have stayed at quite a few self catering cottages and never have we had a more relaxing stay. We will be booking again for next year.
Great cottage with everything you need. Well placed for a pub, shops and fish and chips restaurant/take away all in walking distance. Comfy beds and sofas. Well equipped kitchen. Lovely walks from the cottage and plenty to see and do close by.
Just back from a few days away staying at Ewelands retreat - i have only given 3 stars due to it not actually being a cottage at the rear of Ewelands house (which makes it sound like it is a separate building) when in fact it is a studio apartment underneath Ewelands house. This may not be an issue but it means that the noise from the upstairs doesn't really make this a peaceful retreat, a large investment in soundproofing between floors is needed - scraping of chairs, people walking around and then water running (not sure if it was a shower or the kitchen that is directly above the bed in the...more
The Piggery is lovely, everything on the website honestly reflects this lovely accommodation. It was clean, comfy and the location was fantastic. The location was really handy for getting out and about, if you can tear yourself away from the views when sitting out on the balcony. We had a couple of questions whilst we were there and the owners responded really quickly, very helpful. It’s true that the upstairs bedrooms are a little snug, but the beds are great, it’s only the en-suites that are a little ‘cosy’. Tipping your head forward to get rid of toothpaste, bending forward to wash your fa...more
