Another excellent 5* property from Mill House Cottages created by charming hosts Suzanne and Kevin who were on hand to offer a warm welcome and advice. Area a bit thin on good local eateries.
Great location, great accommodation, great amenities… hard to beat this if you’re looking for an easily-reached middle-of-the-country option for a large group. We had 16 adults and 5 small children and we were fully accommodated by the wonderful hosts. When you’re this close to a pub, farm play park, walks literally out of your door, Oxenholme station and the M6 there’s little more you could ask for.
Beautiful accommodation in a lovely setting. So much attention to detail with everything. Lovely hosts and good communication pre and during our stay. Would definitely love to go back.
This really is an outstanding standard of accommodation which was ideal for our purpose of week's pure relaxation with a bit of moderate walking and plenty of excellent food and wine. The barn is light, airy and spacious, and even in March with the heating turned down low the exceptional insulation ensured it remained very warm throughout. we had a lovely stay at New Thornber. The property is finished to a very high standard, the kitchen was well supplied for a party of 8 to self cater for the weekend. The owners had thought of everything - from supplying a lovely welcome pack to providing plenty of games and quiz books!
A beautifully appointed cottage - it was immaculate on arrival, tastefully decorated, cosy and warm. Your every need is catered for in this exceptionally well equipped cottage. The lovely enclosed garden was a delight to sit in, the gem was the small decking area by the stream, so peaceful. There is a real charm to this cottage and the hosts Peter and Jan are on hand if needed. We hope to return as we feel we have found a new favourite place to stay in such a lovely area of the country.

Quiet , peaceful and restful with fabulous views. Stayed here before so knew it was a very comfortable, luxurious property.
We had a lovely relaxing week at The Barn, first class accommodation and very tastefully converted. Idyllic location with stunning views, lots of walks in the area, and the weather was kind - only one half day of rain. We will most definitely use Mill House Cottages in the future.
The cottage was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed for a lovely cozy family break. We are looking forward to returning.
The facilities are amazing! And the location is picturesque - beautiful stream right on the doorstep. Bed was so comfortable, and the eye mask/bath robe and slippers were perfect touches for a relaxing break away. Also lots of things to do nearby.
we booked this dog friendly cottage to escape bonfire night in Liverpool. It was chosen for its remoteness and it did'nt disappoint in that regard, situated about 6 mile from Kirby Lonsdale at the end of a single track lane. The cottage is very modern and spotlessly clean with new bathrooms and a modern kitchen. All so important is the very fast wi-fi , a must in todays world. We have no hesitation in recommending Mill House Cottage's, so much so that we have already booked for next years bonfire night in another Mill House cottage nearby.
The dog house is amazing and I would recommend it to everyone. To get there you drive up some idillic country lanes lined with hedges, as the road comes to an end you get to a beautiful farm set on a hill side in what appears to be the middle of nowhere. The property is set up a driveway tucked away from the rest of the world. The bedroom is warm, comfy and has a very well finished bathroom. The upstairs has a well equipped kitchen and everything you would need to live like you’re at home. Had a fabulous time at Villa Le Bastidou. The villa is incredible, has everything you could possibly need and very luxurious, the outdoor space and pool was amazing. Great location, lovely and peaceful but a very short drive to the village which is really nice, and St Tropez and other great locations very easy to get to. We'll be back I'm sure!
The Old School Hall has been beautifully renovated, and really is a testament to the craftsmen whom have produced a modern build in an old building. We had just the school hall, with the 3 bedrooms, all of which are gorgeous and cozy, warm with their own bathrooms, creating a gorgeous environment for a nights sleep. Downstairs is large, with a living room, large enough to seat all guests comfortably. The kitchen and dining room again are large, with every possible kitchen utensil you could need to cook up those big party meals. We've booked with Mill House cottages a number of times over the last few years and have thoroughly enjoyed each cottage we've stayed in. This latest one was up to the same standard and we'll definitely be back for another visit.
Really enjoyed our stay at The Stables. Kirkby Lonsdale is two minutes away and has everything you need, good butcher, bakery and green grocer. Ideally located for outdoors exploring with an endless supply of walking and biking routes either from the door step or by car. Very well looked after by the hosts Anneka & Patrick, would really recommend without doubt.
Spent 3 nights in this beautiful, luxurious accommodation. Fantastic location for other places to visit and great pub just a minutes walk away. Would definitely recommend.

We enjoyed a cosy long weekend in this lovely cottage. It is situated in the centre of the village minutes from the inn and is beautifully presented with excellent finishing touches. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge with log fire and two lovely bedrooms. The addition of a pantry cupboard for tins etc would add to excellent kitchen Care needs to be taken with the staircase, especially if you are elderly. Kirby Lonsdale has lots to offer and the area has many pleasant walks-gorgeous Autumn colours.
The setting for the cottage is beautiful and so peaceful. We were a group of 3 couples, so I'd picked this property as it could accommodate 6 with each couple having access to their own bathroom. The cottage itself is very nicely decorated but we were a little disappointed with some aspects. The main bathroom didn't have a functioning lock. One of the windows in the twin room had blown and there were items I would have expected the kitchen to have that were missing. Great accommodation in an ideal spot……property was nice, clean and comfortable…. We all loved it….Grandkids especially, with loads of books, toy's and games to keep them amused.
Stayed four nights. Weather was appalling so didn’t explore much and appreciated the comfort and facilities in the cottage. Although furnishings were generally of a high quality, the foam pillows were a disappointment. Lighting in the sitting room was a bit dull if you wanted to read … it would benefit from an uplighter or two. Limited space in the kitchen if you’re bringing your own food.
Had an excellent stay with 6 adults sharing comfortably. Location is brilliant, a short drive to fort William and driving distance to Skye. Comfortable, spacious, clean and jetty is a huge bonus. Would recommend and would happily stay again.
Bronte house was extremely comfortable and clean. It’s in a perfect location to enable you to visit either the lakes or the north Yorkshire dales Excellent in every way We will definitely be back
We had a fab few days at the barn. Modern new, clean holiday let. The bedrooms are very small with very little storage / hangers and a lack of coat/ towel hooks! The Owner could not have been nicer and more willing to make our stay more enjoyable - overall a very pleasant stay.
