We spent 6 nights at the castle and loved every minute of it. The accommodation is of a very high standard and in a truly unique location. Yes, it’s necessary to plan carefully for the tides and availability of ferries, but that is such a small price to pay for having the relaxation of being removed from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The teams at the castle and in charge of the ferries are all so friendly and helpful- they really add to the whole experience!
Great to have such a comfortable and well appointed and furnished place in a lovely setting for when we come over. You'll need a car but after that little else. It's right in the middle of the island and a great base to wake up in and come back to. There are some stairs but if you can cope with that (and the temptation of the huge barrels of cider downstairs...) you'll have a great stay.
The Tower is stunning. BUT on the marketing website the photo of the bedroom shows a double bed. The site does say there are two singles as well as the double but we were surprised that all the beds are jammed into the same small space. The Tower is not suitable for four people who are not in the same family! A barbecue would be nice too.
We had a fabulous time at Kempt Tower, has everything you could possibly need, will definitely be back again in the future!
We had a fabulous stay here with friends over the weekend. Everything is so well catered for, it’s spacious, clean and very well equipped. I would highly recommend Fort Leicester.
The perfect location for a quiet cozy staycation. We loved the fire, although we didn’t realise there would only be given enough wood for one fire and had to pick up some more. Very clean and everything we needed for cooking was in the cupboards. Definitely recommend.
Such a magical place for a staycation - felt like we really had the chance to switch off and recharge in our own little remote castle on the coast. Unfortunately the drilling on the cliffside nearby did spoil the peace and tranquility of sitting out on the terrace (not Jersey Heritage's fault I know - but was a negative on our stay). But otherwise it was superb - the view out of every window was like a masterpiece painting; and the sunset sublime. A well stocked kitchen. A lovely place to spend a special weekend with family and friends. Note, access through the single bedroom is needed to get...more
We loved our long weekend in the radio tower, slightly awkward carrying food up and down from kitchen to table, but the view is sooooo worth it. My 6ft3 son managed in the bed, and he would’ve curled up like a ball to enjoy the views.
old farm building refurbished to high standard. If you are tall you need to duck a lot and a car is pretty essential but it's lovely staying on an old farm with such great history. Flat is comfortable, nicely finished and well equipped.
Another great stay at La Rocco tower. We were lucky with the weather. Sunset views from the top of the tower were stunning and clear skies for start gazing in the evening. Seeing quite a few shooting stars. Kayaking there and back was kept interesting with a little swell and a few waves on the beach. A top mini adventure.
Our second stay and have already booked to return later this year . Quaint , quiet & just perfect for relaxing Staycation with our 4 legged friends . Would definitely benefit having an outside tap for sandy Paws & Feet and such a shame that H&S prevents use of roof area .
Fantastic support from Jersey Heritage. Gorgeous location. Only issue is the main room leaks terribly when it rains and is uninhabitable.
Trudie our guide was brilliant and I would recommend her we had a brilliant time. When we arrived I noticed the crockery and cutlery were icky (they had not been cleaned properly). Brick dust had been falling down and covered the top shelf in the kitchen (If another group had been in recently then they hadn't left the tower in a good state if however a group hadn't been in then I can see the wind had pushed this in). Cutlery and large items scapulars etc were in a mess. Trudie together with another member of my party and myself spent time cleaning and arranging them where they should go so...more
This was a perfect base for laid back beach life at St Ouens. Basic camping style accommodation, but kept you dry and out of the wind at night. Public toilets just a couple of mins walk away. Great storage space for surf boards and ideal for BBQs outside watching the sunset. If you cant take your own BBQ there is a decent one on site. Huge dining table on the ground floor, very atmospheric, but you will need lots of light, so take candles and lamps. Our UK /USA guests were very impressed they had access to an 18th century martello tower, so it was a big success.
