When the last ferry leaves, you have your own private 24 acre castle, complete with nazi bunker, hermitage, deep sea harbour and a series of private beaches. The flat is great and has everything you need, but it isn’t the flat you came for. The staff are great and ferry crew are great fun. Breakfast on the battery, picnic on the parade ground and make like Walter Raleigh for the weekend. We did.
The cider barn was really well fitted with the right amount of rural charm! We had a lovely time in the grounds on the evening and enjoyed a walk around the orchard. It was peaceful so we slept well, the rooms are comfortable. The site guardien in the morning was cheerful and allowed us to help him feed the chickens, which was a definite highlight. Would definitely stay again and recommend it for all. Booking was easy and the staff were very helpful.
This was a return trip to Archirondel Tower and I hope it won’t be the last! The setting is stunning. A wonderful escape!
Kempt Tower is situated in a beautiful environment. The beach is unbeatable. It was great for the children and relaxing for the adults. The interior of the tower was well equipped, it was clean and everything was in place. Since it was built as a military building the windows are very small. It, therefore, would have been nice to have more lighting in the living room (floorlamp). Some additional hooks in the bathroom would be helpful.
Every we needed for a weekend stay with friends was available. The property is thoughtfully equipped and comfortable.
We come from the beautiful Emmental region in Switzerland and are used to cleanliness and beautiful scenery. We were all the more surprised by the island of Jersey. The landscape is so diverse, the houses are so unique, and the people seem so incredibly friendly and content. We found the Fisherman's Cottage right away by car. We received excellent support from RÓISIN Jersey Heritage. Since it was our first time, we had many questions, and every one, no matter how specific, was answered patiently and very kindly. Such helpful and competent advice is rare, so many thanks to RÓISIN! We can on...more
The perfect retreat to relax and enjoy the peace and spectacular views. Everything exceeded our expectations. From a well stocked kitchen, comfy beds and even a heated towel rail in the shower room! My family and friends loved it and none of us wanted to leave.
The stay in the Radio Tower was amazing. Every day a wonderful sunset. We enjoyed this special location a lot.
The family had a wonderful and unique stay at The Stables which is within the Hamptonne Country Life museum. The staff were really friendly and the flat was a great home from home. We helped feed the chickens, sheep and pigs every morning. Ideal for anybody with a love of animals and don’t mind a rooster as an alarm clock. We would definitely stay here again.
Another great stay at La Rocco tower. We were lucky with the weather. Sunset views from the top of the tower were stunning and clear skies for start gazing in the evening. Seeing quite a few shooting stars. Kayaking there and back was kept interesting with a little swell and a few waves on the beach. A top mini adventure.
We had the most wonderful week at Barge Aground. It was the most perfect location for our stay with our dog. We walked every morning and evening along the long beach with our dog and explored in the day, the perfect local. So great to return each evening to the Beautiful Barge Aground, it was wet a few days and we found we needed to put some gentle heating on to take away the damp air in the building but within a short period it was sorted. Couldn't recommend enough !
We were very fortunate to have blue skies for our one night stay to the tower. Our guide Peter was wonderful and very knowledgeable about the area. There is nothing to fault about a stay Seymour. Being in nature and enjoying great company.
Great otherworldly experience, you really feel like you have 'stepped through'. However, the path down is extremly challenging and if your aim is to avoid groups of 'youths' having rowdy parties down there (which I take to be the point of the awkward questionaire at the outset) then necessarily you are hoping it will appeal to families possibly with young children leaving parents with a lot of work to do, in particular water. Also the tables were in ridiculously bad shape and a good table is important if said parents are going to manage their stay successfully.
Basic accommodation but good fun. Beautiful sunsets and lovely beaches around the Tower. Lovely walks. Enjoyed our stay.
