Second stay at Seascape (Gatehouse Luxury Lodges). Found it just as we'd left last year - extremely well appointed, scrupulously clean and (particularly) warm & toasty for a very cold week's holiday. Loved staying there. Lots of interest & walks in the area, good food in Gatehouse of Fleet. Would definitely recommend to friends & family.
We enjoyed the comfort of the sofas and the beds and the bathrooms were good, with excellent showers. The space is light and the situation is peaceful. There are walks from the door, which we enjoyed. On a clear night there were so many stars and the bird feeder attracted a great spotted woodpecker, nuthatch, tree creeper, great tits and chaffinches - the binoculars were a nice touch. This is a get-away-from-it-all sort of place. The heating was okay but didn't seem to be set up in the best way for an air source heat pump. We had a lovely, relaxing stay at Silver Birch. From the time we booked we were given relevant information and helpful guides about the property and what to do in the area and any questions were answered quickly. The lodge is stunning and has views over the countryside to the water. It had everything we needed for our stay and was a good base for exploring the area. We could even bring our EV as it has a charging point which was a bonus.
This is a lovely modern cabin in a stunning location with views over to the sea, you can make out Mossyard beach in the distance. Nice an comfy with plenty of room. Some nice walks right out of the front door and some great little shops in nearby Gatehouse of Fleet. Further afield, I would recommend a visit to Castle Douglas and definitely Grierson Bros butchers, one of the best!
