We all had a terrific time at Muckrach house as it is such a wonderful place. Decoration is fantastic, facilities outstanding and the beds were super comfortable. There were 6 children with us and they didn’t want to leave. All in all, we thoroughly the house.
We had a special week at Drum Cottage. It is located remotely in a truly magical setting. The cottage was spotlessly clean on our arrival, beds are super comfy with crisp fresh linens, and fluffy towels. We saw red squirrels, buzzards, a red kite, and lots of birds in the garden. When we had a small issue, the housekeeper was very prompt to respond and it was resolved quickly which was excellent. I’d highly recommend a stay here, beautiful cottage, glorious setting with incredible views.
Sweet cottage in an idyllic rural spot overlooking mountains. Very clean and enjoyed the hot tub. Great place to base selves for Sking. Plenty of wood to make a fire for a cosy night in.
Beautiful house and gardens. Great stay with friends. Well equipped, everyone welcoming and peaceful location. Easy communication with the host. Any queries we had were kindly accommodated. Nice to be able to bring our dog to stay. The weather was wet when we were there so the boot room/porch was appreciated. That said we did find many feet make a mess in the kitchen easily. Comfortable beds and cosy property. Sorry - we set the fire alarm off when cooking but great to see people cared and came to look out for us!
We absolutely loved it here. It’s a very special place. The lodge is very spacious, spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. I don’t sleep well normally in strange beds but the beds here are like clouds. Views over the golf course were stunning. We’re a family of five and it’s the best accommodation we’ve stayed at. We ended up coming a day late as my daughter was unwell and the staff we spoke to on the phone were so understanding, helpful and accommodating. We’ve already booked again for the summer. Thank you so much to Great North Lodges x
Writing to say thank you. We had 15 adults and 16 kids (ages 3 to 10) and found Gulabin Lodge an excellent experience to have such a gathering. The house and grounds provide ample space for games for the children. The kitchen was well stocked. The firepit was a hit and captivated everyone. We were in easy reach of local walks. Nothing was a problem for Helen and Tim and they created a relaxed atmosphere for us to have a wonderful weekend.
Great location and perfect place to stay in the Highlands. Spotlessly clean and perfectly decorated. We loved it and can’t wait to come back.
We stayed for a week in February at Laggandhu. What a fantastic location; waking up to snow capped Mountain views and occasionally deer in the field behind the cottage. The cottage was ideal for our family of five and the Wood Fired Hot Tub was wonderful. Plenty of stargazing, no light pollution, listening to nothing but the occasional sounds of wildlife. The appearance of deer, on most days, and watching the birds of prey enhanced our stay. Thank you to the team at Great North Lodges.
The house was beautiful and very well equipped. We especially loved the hot tub and the 2 dishwashers!
Enjoyed long weekend in the Stables Cottage, Nethy Bridge The cottage was very clean, with extremely comfortable bedding, linen and towels. The kitchen was very well stocked with all essentials. The only slight hiccup was omission providing a cot which had been asked for, eventually delivered the following day but unsuitable because had not been brought up to room temperature.
We have stayed here many times and absolutely love the house, its location and the peaceful atmosphere. It’s a real escape from the hustle and bustle of normal life ! The house is very comfortable and well maintained. The beds are very comfortable as is the lounge with its wonderful log burner. The kitchen has plenty of glassware, crockery and utensils. The only downside is the oven struggles to cope with cooking for a large group. The whole kitchen could do with a revamp, double oven, new hob and worktops etc but please accept this comment as an observation, not a complaint ! Already b...more
This is the 2nd time staying here and we loved it as we did before. Location and views are excellent. We will definitely stay again.
The lodge is in a perfect location with so much nearby! The pub, loch insh, walks, but the house itself makes you want to stay home. The hot tub is great, the house is really well set up, and we just had such a fun weekend. My friends loved it and a few want to come back with family. Would highly recommend xx
great cottage with hot tub, fire makes a big difference, very clean and well kitted out for long weekend stay, great communication from Great North
We spent a wonderful and peaceful four nights at Balvattan Farmhouse. We enjoyed the fabulous views, the large private garden and the excellent outdoor facilities. The farmhouse is spacious and well equipped. Staff at GNL most helpful.
Accommodation fulfilled all our expectations. Would happily recommend this venue. Ideal for our family of 12.
A lovely house, brilliant location, everuthing we needed was catered for. Will definately go back for another stay.
The house was very comfortable, clean and warm. Fire and hot tub were excellent after a day out walking. Garden was dog friendly and there were good walks from the house. Would definitely book again.
Location is amazing! Beautiful walks, fantastic garden, the house is well equipped feels like home. Don’t want to make it sound too good or it will get booked up! Been coming to nethy bridge go over 25 years and this is perfection for our family.
We attended Drum Lodge to celebrate our Dad's 80th birthday. The lodge was excellent. With a mixed age range from 80 to 3yrs, the property was perfect. All the facilities, bedrooms, kids play area, fireplaces, kitchen, seating areas were great. Our only comment would be to provide some plastic (child friendly) plates etc as the stone floors could cause breakages for the little ones The indoor BBQ was not available to use which was a disappointment but the other kitchen facilities enabled us to adjust our plans. Overall, could not fault the whole place. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and w...more
A stunning rural location a short distance from Aviemore with a small shop and pub within walking distance. The house was very comfortable and equipped to a high standard. Family that visited all commented on how comfortable the beds were. We had a group of 6 adults and a toddler and found the house was ideal. Great storage for outdoor kit and excellent hot tub and sauna. Ideally located for walking, cycling and most other outdoor activities. Communication from GNL was excellent. We would definitely return.
Fabulous house with everything you would need. Owners were very helpful and lovely to deal with! Would stay again!
This was our second stay at Station Cottage and we are already looking to book our next stay. We are a party of two adults and this is perfect for us. The front porch is an an excellent place to leave wet boots and coats to dry - the inside is perfect for relaxing after a day's walking in the forests, around lochs, riverside and up the mountains. There are plenty of walks to do without jumping in the car. We highly recommend Nethy House cafe for breakfast, lunch, coffee and/or cake. We were made to feel so welcome and even joined in one of their yoga classes. There is also a butchers/grocery s...more
Had an absolutely amazing stay at The Neuk. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Was great fun having the hot tub and ping pong table and amazing having the hot tub on and ready for our arrival! The beds were extremely comfortable and we had everything we needed, was a great spacious house. The dealings with the company and owners was also very helpful, providing a speedy response to any queries had and being very accommodating. Overall a fantastic stay had at this wonderful property!
Our second time at Bennachie, great location, dog friendly garden and the weather was very kind to us, it snowed but the days were dry. Blue skies on most of the days, cold but we were prepared for that. Shame it doesn’t have a log burner/fire, that would have rounded the day off after some fabulous winter walks in the snow. The house itself is modern, with lovely rooms and bathrooms, as well as a well equipped kitchen. Highly recommend this wonderful house.
Location good everything in walking distance. Hot tub was lovely and big bonus. Nice and clean place, quiet area. But a bit disappointed, no welcome fire wood/starting kindling. No slippers and only 4 robes. No dishwasher tablets. Outside bins full. Both toilet seats need tightening up. I would expect for £1200 it to be spot on, so think it’s a bit over priced. We still had a good holiday.
Fabulous clean and cosy accomodation Perfect location a few minutes walk from all amenities including shops bus and train. Station
We had a great stay and found the hot tub to be one of the best we have experienced. Loved the birds and squirrels and the walks directly from the door. Couple of minor things that need addressed as part of any upgrade plan, 1. A sign from the main road would be helpful 2. Some of the pans don’t work on the induction hob 3. The sofa needs replaced
The family spent a highly enjoyable week during early November at stunning Baddengorm Lodge. The property is very spacious, with many distinctive touches, comfortable and well equipped. The setting in particular was just beautiful and has very private grounds with woodland, stream and even its own Lochan. One week was simply not long enough to enjoy all that the property and surrounding area has to offer.
We stayed at Rivercroft in the Cairngorms and had a genuinely outstanding christmas. The setting is simply stunning—situated right by the river, it feels peaceful and secluded while still being the perfect base for exploring the area. Waking up to the surrounding scenery was simply amazing, and the nights skys were extraordinary. The wildlife was a real highlight. We saw wild deer nearby, and at one point we watched two kites circling and flying around overhead, which was unforgettable and made the whole stay feel even more special. The cottage itself was ideal for family life: comfort...more
This is the third time we have stayed here for the week over the New Year, and will be coming back next year to stay again this Christmas in 2026. The Lodge has everything you need and is in a great location in the centre of Carrbridge. Plenty of seating for a large family (there was 7 of us) and very comfortable. We're always there in the winter and despite the cold outside it's warm inside! Very festive with the Christmas/New Year period and there's a shop and petrol station in the village with a great pub and restaurant (The Cairn Hotel). Our party had a great stay and very happy to ret...more
Beautiful log cabin with great living space and log burner, and location down a track in it's own woodland over looking the River Spey. Loved it, will look forward to staying again.
Great location, kitchen was well equipped. Would be nice if there was a few store cupboard basics like sugar and a bit of tea and coffee would have been nice.
We booked our stay as a treat for our honeymoon with our two young kids. Unfortunately due to a storm we were left with no electricity. While we understand that this is out with the control of the owners the running water is pumped by an electric pump and it meant that for the first nearly 24 hours we had no running water as well as electricity and as had to vacate the property for an entire day. When we reached out regarding this we feel we have been let down with no adequate resolution and ourselves out of pocket. As a result we would not recommend this property
Excellent house with perfect layout for an extended family providing both privacy and fantastic communal spaces, New Year at Nethybridge is unbeatable.
Loved our stay here, fabulous property, only issue was several old cobwebs and dust in areas that were obviously being overlooked when cleaning and the vacuum cleaner wasn’t leaving the carpets clean. The lounge carpet wasn’t clean when we arrived and after several attempts to clean it ourselves there was still dog hair from previous occupants left on the carpet. Deep clean and new vacuum capable of picking up dog hair recommend.
We have stayed at Braken House twice now. We love it and look forward to returning. Aviemore as a Holiday location together with GNL make the perfect holiday combination. I think sometimes we miss rewarding quality service. GNL make booking, planning effortless and enjoyable and the properties are always first class. Keep up the great work, we will be back and totally recommend to anyone.
We were lucky enough to arrive to snow falling and a lovely toasty house with some very nice gifts ( thank you GNL). We lit the fire and watched the snow fall and then after dinner had a lovely dip in the hot tub. The house is situated in a lovely quiet area with an amazing pub down the road but even better than that has a walk directly from the bottom of the garden to the River Spey and on the speyside way, with views of the Cairngorms. We loved it as did our dog Murphy, the enclosed garden was brilliant. So many beautiful places to walk nearby including Loch Garten, Loch Morl...more
From start to finish we had a wonderful time. The lodge was homely and comfy with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Great location.
When we arrived where we parked our car had poo from an animal everywhere it was difficult to not stand in and we cleaned this up ourselves. The lodge overall is lovely and cosy, perfect for our getaway and great north lodges were so accommodating when we needed to change our dates due to medical reasons. Apart from the outside it was clean and welcoming. During our stay someone did come over to check the hot tub levels and these facilities were easy to use with instructions provided. Other appliances such as the hob and Cooker were unnecessarily complex to operate and the instructions w...more
This property is in poor condition - including dog mess on the rug upon arrival - and has multiple serious maintenance failures such as blown double glazed windows, some of which could not be secured, faulty heating, missing and non functional lighting, a blocked chimney and an unsecured garage to name a few - this makes it completely unfit for rental. To make things worse, many issues were known to the property manager, as well as the home owner, yet the home was still marketed at full price. When I raised these problems, various solutions were offered but all impacted our stay, we shouldn't ...more
Located in a quiet part of the village. Ideal for access to Ellan Forest trails. House well equipped for what we needed. Sauna and hot tub great after a days exercise. Instructions on how to work the tv and log fire settings were our only issue - but worked them out. Beds were comfortable, good power in shower. Lots of logs for the fire.
