We did a Friday to Monday stay in Mecklin Caravan, myself, hubby, 2 sons (11,9) & our dog. I found Parkgate on a search of places to stay in the local area & thought it looked like a beautiful place to stay & I was not wrong!!! The site is clean, quiet, well equipped & offers beautiful scenery. It is a small family run site & has a very warm & welcoming feeling. The owners Sandy & Bruce are so friendly, approachable & are on hand if you need anything. They provide coal for their BBQs, wood for their fire pits & smore packs for a delicious treat, all at great value we think. We sat by our...more
Had a fantastic solo stay on Pitch 2 at Parkgate Farm with my two dogs. The pitch was spacious, peaceful, and well-situated, making it an easy, relaxing base for managing the dogs on my own. The facilities were immaculate and well looked after throughout the visit, and the location couldn't be better—quiet, scenic surroundings with brilliant walking routes right on the doorstep. Highly recommended for a tranquil getaway, especially if you're travelling with dogs!
The conditions are excellent, clean, quiet and peaceful. You can barbecue and the view is very beautiful. We will definitely come back.
The second time staying at Parkgate, it was just right, lovely views, warm, facilities brilliant, especially as I’ve got dogs to, just right couldn’t be any better, hopefully be back again soon, Thankyou.
This is the second year we have stayed at Parkgate Farm, and again very happy with everything. As per last year Bruce and Sandy ensured we were welcomed and had a good stay.
Wonderful location, quiet site with superb facilities and the hosts were a delight. They are truly passionate about their business which made our stay a very happy one.
Perfect location for exploring/hiking the area. Scenic views, especially the sunrise if you’re up early enough.
Lovely location for a well-needed recharge. We particularly enjoyed the living space which is much more spacious than previous pods we’ve stayed in. Oh, and the donkeys!
Fantastic view from the pod Very peaceful campsite Perfect for walking holidays Campsite staff are friendly& helpful We Will be going back Really enjoyed our stay
Another week at Miterdale. Stunning location, comfortable beds and amazing shower! Hopefully we'll be back next year.
We had a great holiday. Great location Caravan was clean and catered for all are needs. Overall a positive holiday
The hosts were really friendly and helpful, the site is a lovely little campsite with fantastic views, the facilities were clean and tidy and they have some things available to buy but you need cash so I recommend bringing cash for that and if you want to do laundry. Would definitely recommend staying here.
Perfect location for exploring the Cumbrian coast and the Western Lake District. The irt was comfortable the views in the morning were great really enjoyed out stay
Excellent site with good facilities. The kitchen n area had useful tourist information. Shower and toilets well maintained. Pleasant and helpful staff. Quite a steep drive to the site with a Motorhome! Lovely views.
We had a really enjoyable stay and were extremely impressed with the campsite. It genuinely could not have been any cleaner, tidier or better organised than we found it. In fact, it was probably one of the cleanest and most well-maintained campsites we have ever stayed on, and it is clear that a great deal of care and effort goes into keeping the site looking so good. The only downside to our stay was the level of noise. Unfortunately, despite the clear guidance and reminders regarding quiet times, a small number of fellow campers continued to make quite a lot of noise when others were tryi...more
Our second stay in Gap cottage was equally as good as the first. It is so quiet & private & provides the perfect escape. The fact that it fills all our needs makes it perfect.
The day of travel we had a LOVELY text from Sandy and Bruce ( Site Wardens ) letting us know we can reach out to either one of them during our stay for any assistance. They even advised not to follow sat navs, if you aren't familiar with the Lake district or it's your first time ( like it was ours ) this comes in handy as you drive on the main roads and see PLENTY of signs advising not to follow the sat nav!! We could also contact Sandy and Bruce to pre-order Wood, Charcoal and S'mores packs! Life savers when it's another 30/40 minute drive to a town with shops to buy such! The site also has a...more
Well maintained campsite. In a fantastic location with lovely views of the surrounding hills. I will definitely be back!
As said on the tin! Our pitch was easy, nothing went wrong, Sandi and Bruce were so helpful from start to finish, pleasant to deal with and the location just right. Definitely our first choice when next in the area. Donkeys, sheep, birds and dogs, all welcome during our visit. Thank you!
Very well equipped caravan in a beautiful site with amazing views and excellent access to local woodland and the southern fells.
Very peaceful and quiet location, exactly what we needed. Many tourists attractions, beaches and hiking routes within driving distance, allowing for a good day out without excessive amount of time consumed in the car. Very friendly hosts visible around the site throughout the day.
