excellent location practically on the beach, the lookout is v nicely decorated throughout with plenty of decorative touches spotless and comfortable for both people and puppers after days out I can't recommend Sally enough for all the support and communication she provided Bacton itself is a little gem of a place, if like us you have a reactive dog you will love the quiet wide beaches with plenty of space for everyone even during Aug BH weekend plenty of excellent walks to be had but also perfect to simply chill in the sun room overlooking the beach with a chilled glass of wine After...more
Absolutely beautiful cottage, Paul couldn’t do enough for us. Was beautifully decorated for Christmas and the space was amazing. Everything you needed was there and Paul was only a text away if we needed anything. The hot tub was a lovely way to end a day of dog walking at different locations and it’s only a couple of minutes walk into Wroxham. We had a fantastic time and would love to return.
The Bumblebee was probably the best holiday cottage we’ve ever stayed in! From the communication prior to arrival, the warm welcome, generous and personalised hamper of goodies, the information available on the local area, the comfy bed, the dog friendliness and enclosed paddock area, the cosy wood burner, the excellent decor and finish to the cottage, I could go on! We had a brilliant week exploring the empty beaches with our GSP who loves to run, as well as walks from the doorstep, and National Trust properties nearby. We would absolutely return to this property without question, our...more
We booked Malthouse Farm Barn for a family Christmas and we couldn't be happier with our stay. Every aspect was perfect from the welcome pack for both dogs and humans to the comfort and facilities at the barn. Perfect for reactive dogs with a fully walled garden too. Dod friendly beach a few minutes away was perfect for morning walks. Rick and Ally were on hand if we needed anything at all. Would definitely recommend a stay here, it was perfect.
A wonderful, relaxing week at The Lobster. We loved absolutely everything about it - a great welcome pack, private path to the stunning beach, luxurious bedrooms and bathrooms & beautifully furnished. It is so well designed inside and out. Our dog really enjoyed the garden and the Charley Chau dog beds provided. We could happily have stayed put all week but did a few trips out to East Ruston Old Vicarage Gardens, Bacton Woods, Eden in Stalham, Smallsticks, Watsons and the Gunton Arms. Another gem, thank you to the owners and team ERC. Really hope to return if we can get booked!
We had a very relaxing break at Peanut cottage, which was spotlessly clean.Everything you need is provided here, from the exceptional welcome basket filled with local produce + tea ,coffee &milk and a basket of goodie’s for the dogs, there’s a quiet courtyard at the peanut with hot tub and an enclosed grass paddock for the dogs.Paul and Stella certainly go the extra mile to make your stay a memorable one.We will certainly return to one of their cottages.
What a fabulous place to stay, from the location, to the facilities to everything thought of for the dogs, we really cannot fault Jack's Shack. The kitchen was so well equipped, the bed super comfy with quality bed linen and pillows and everywhere was spotless and furnished to a lovely standard which felt very homely. The log burner was easy to light with logs provided. We loved to be able to walk out the back directly onto the dunes but still so close to the fish shop, pub and tea room all literally a 2/3 mins walk. Everything has been thought of and we are very much looking forward to ano...more
This is a brilliant cottage, particularly if you have dogs. The facilities are excellent, and we were all made very welcome. Everything had been thought of, and the welcome packs for the dogs and humans were lovely, far more than you would expect. We would thoroughly recommend, and hope to go back.
Manor Farm Barn was the latest in many stays with East Ruston Cottages and didn’t disappoint. It’s furnished to 5* hotel standard with comfortable beds and attention to detail for the humans and dogs, but spotlessly clean. The garden is secure for most dogs, we don’t spend too much time there due to the weather but could see it was a much cared for space with roses and apple trees, I’m sure it’ll be gorgeous in spring. We briefly met the lovely owners who live next door but they were not at all intrusive and we were left to ourselves and made very welcome. It isn’t the cheapest property but wi...more
Nice owners. Good space available for exercising dogs. Overall comfortable. Easy access to many places.
It was our first time booking a stay via east Ruston and also our first time staying away for christmas. On arrival to the property you could see how much time and care the hosts put into the property including so many personal touches for christmas, we were blown away. We had the most relaxing christmas week, the property is perfect and the hot tub is a bonus feature! Its refreshing to see somewhere decorated so lovely and be completely dog friendly, we will 100% be back.
The location is great. Short walk over the dunes onto the beach. Lovely comfort in the house. Lots of throws so the dogs can sit cuddling after long beach walks. Plenty of sofas for adults and dogs. Great log burner which we brought wood for and kept the living room really warm. Good entrance lobby with a fridge freezer to keep dog food in. Loved the fenced gardens to let dogs go toilets safely especially at night. Would love to return but see the prices have gone up dramatically for 2025.
We arrived to the most fabulous festive welcome…. A lovely wreath on the door, an overflowing hamper with oodles of treats for us and the dogs. We couldn’t help but smile as the tree was dog-friendly too! The tree was elevated and lots of dog toys at base of tree. All high enough to avoid any ‘it’s a tree - let’s cock a leg!’ . How’s about that for ‘dog-obsessed?!’ We were in awe - even the table was set up for Christmas with a lovely festive tablecloth and table decorated. Dormy was immaculate, very warm and comfy- the dogs loved soaking up the winter sunshine by the front patio doors when t...more
This is our second visit to this lovely cottage beautifully presented from the moment you arrive the field for the dogs to run in is ideal. Everything has been thought of it’s definitely luxury to a high standard. The welcome hamper for us & our 5 dogs was a lovely touch even included a birthday cake & card. The owners are onsite & are friendly & helpful. The cottage is ideally situated for the beach, wooded walks. Stalham is a couple of miles away which has a supermarket, fish & chip shop & other takeaways also a vet which we have had to use. This accommodation is 1st class!
Perfect little cottage with the dunes on the doorstep we walked for hours most days the dogs were home from home they settled straight away. The owners of the cottage were amazing and lovely with it too. Any question was no problem. I have even booked to go again in September. Can’t wait.
Soon as we arrived we knew we were going to love white cottage lovely new year decorations lovely warm rooms great welcome pack torches provided also dog tags dog collar lights totally secure garden no near neighbours lovely comfortable beds everything you could possibly need in the kitchen although we ate out as there are lots of places to eat nearby the beach is a short walk from the door our dogs loved the cottage we never heard a peep from them all night. This was the second time we have stayed at Bristows Barn, and it didn’t disappoint. The barn was so clean and we felt at home straight away. The owner was so welcoming, and has thought of everything to make this a truly dog friendly place to stay. The location is wonderful, so close to weavers way, and a short drive to the lovely beaches. Can’t wait to book again.
All the little touches is what made this cottage one of the best for stays with dogs. Fresh produce for humans, including some gluten free mince pies for me. Milk, tea, coffee and bread all provided. Christmas decorations up made a welcoming touch when we arrived! A basket with treats and toys for the dogs! Cannot recommend highly enough! This is our 6th stay in one of East Ruston properties and we will be returning again and again! Fabulous!
A fantastic property definitely 5* luxury, high standard of furnishings, superb comfy beds, everything you could possibly need and above for a comfortable stay, the humans loved the dog beds as much as the dog,the hot tub a great addition at the end of the day.Very spacious and loved the underfloor heating. Great restaurants and takeaways with in easy reach, an ideal base for the beach 10 minutes walk and visiting the seals.Great communication throughout, loved the welcome basket. No negative points whatsoever and would highly recommend. Can’t wait to return.
My husband, dog and I stayed at Edelweiss for three nights. Tracie is a great host and made is feel very welcome. The place was perfect for the three of us. Great location for visiting the local beaches and lovely surrounding areas. We felt at home as did our dog. We highly recommend staying here.
The welcome pack was amazing. Fab chocolate cake and all the other unexpected bit. Top marks. A couple of issues with the boiler and hot water soon fixed by Anne. We had a lovely stay and the cottage is truly dog friendly. Minstrel had a fab time. We did find it was a bit full of dog hairs under the sofa and chairs in living room but that’s down to the cleaners. Toilet wasn’t sparkly clean either. At the end of the day we really enjoyed our stay at a difficult time with the bad weather. Log burner was super cosy. Once we understood how to get hot water working all was good. Would ...more
This is our second stay at The Grove and we’ve already booked for next year and 2026. A beautifully clean property with a large well kept, secure garden. Quiet walks from the door and a short drive to the coast but I actually walked the distance on two occasions. There’s everything we needed at the property along with plenty of supplies of doggy toys, leads, all manner of essentials incase you forget anything. EV charging in the immediate area is poor for rapid charging but we used a local one which is a 50kw charger but there’s only one, listed in the information from East Rushton Cottag...more
Perfect in every way for humans and dogs. Warm and comfortable with a lovely log fire. Spotlessly clean. Excellent position for a 5 minute walk to miles of dog friendly beach. Great garden. We parked up and walked to cafes (all open in January which was a bonus), pubs, and a good shop in Walcott. A very good welcome pack provided. Everything supplied for the dogs which made travelling easier. Best cottage we’ve ever stayed in for a dog friendly holiday. We can’t wait to return.
We stayed in The Farmhouse over new years. The games rooms are fantastic and were made good use of. Each of the bedrooms are great sizes and having 2 en suites was great. Lots of space for people to chill out in different areas if needed. Great garden space which I assume would be fabulous in the summer. Hosts were so lovely and helpful but not intrusive at all. The most generous welcome package ever!!! So good for the dogs from the beds and bowls to the toys and agility equipment.
We have stayed at Rooster Barn several times so knew what to expect. The barn was beautifully decorated for Xmas and a lovely welcome pack for humans and dog was provided. We loved having the wood burner again and made good use of the kitchen. Everything we needed to cook our Xmas meal was available. Just a lovely comfortable, clean and welcoming place to stay.
This was our first time away with our resuce GSD Reggie. He's anxious and reactive to animals and people he doesn't know .But he's not noise reactive he can quite happily hear dogs barking or people talking as long as he's in a safe haven . Boundary Lodge was absolutely perfect for him he was perfectly relaxed , loved the large garden he felt safe. Places to go were within easy reach short car drive his favourite place was Winterton on Sea with the miles of sand dunes he had a wail of a time there , it was wonderful to see him so chilled and relaxed to the point of him not reacting to anyt...more
We had a great stay at Wagtail Cottage- it’s clean, warm and well equipped for people and dogs! Quiet and secure garden, driveway next to the house for easy loading/unloading. Great location, owners were friendly and responsive to any queries, and provided OS maps and guides for the local area. The ERC team were also responsibe and the app was useful to find places to go.
After working flat out over Christmas & New Year in our pub, it was lovely to escape to Norfolk for a few days and Swallowdale was definitely a home from home. Clean, warm, comfortable and very dog friendly with everything thought about for dogs including beds, towels, throws and bowls (and much more we didn't use). Loved the dog friendly non slip flooring throughout plus the enclosed garden, ideal for reactive dogs. Well equipped kitchen for the humans with the generous welcome pack much appreciated. Beaches, local towns and villages all within easy driving distances made Trunch the ideal loc...more

What a lovely cottage and everything was perfect for dogs Buster 1yr old springer spaniel,Barney 9 month old Labrador and us two humans, a short walk and you are on the beach, coffee and bacon rolls from Scratby Bakery are just the best and so are their cakes, lots of great places locally to visit and very dog friendly.
Great dog friendly cottage with a cosy living room and large kitchen / diner. Lovely comfortable beds and great touch of welcome hamper for both humans and dogs! Parking ok for one medium size car and other parking available around the village. Good location for shop and pub as only a couple of minutes walk away. A 10 - 15 minute walk to beach.
Seaview cottage has everything you need to enjoy a relaxing stay, just a couple of minutes to the steps leading to a fabulous beach. The views from upstairs are just breathtaking, Leonie the owner of Seaview cottage left a lovely home made cake and auntie Sue left Welly a lovely stocking full of treats. The kitchen had everything I needed to prepare & cook Christmas dinner for friends. Christmas 2024 was just the best. We went to sea the seals at winterton, watched the crazy people have a dip in the sea at Cromer on Boxing Day and lovely food at the lighthouse inn & hurst farm. Finally a b...more
Basic accommodation. Very clean. Lovely touch of apple juice and cookies left for us. Lots provided like washing up liquid, loo roll etc. Extremely dog friendly, throws and bowls provided. Would best suit just a couple with two dogs. The site is very well maintained and perfect for dog walks across the sand dunes to the beach straight from the front door with no roads to cross. This makes up for no private garden. Our third stay, because it works for us and our dogs. Shower isn't brilliant, and only plug in heaters. Can get cold and feel damp in colder months.
Our 4th stay here 6 adults 5 dogs. Everything we needed right there the dogs love the large garden and the house is perfect for walks and beach days. We will definitely be back next year. Everything you could need in the kitchen for family meals and lounge large enough to all sit on an evening.
Our third stay & only 283 days to our next stay, that says so much. Whilst it’s not a chocolate box thatched cottage, it is a warm, cosy bolt home from the endless necessity of self employment .. everything you need is here, short drive to amazing beaches, or a walk almost from the doorstep. The dogs & myself love our stay at the lodge
Lovely cottage in the heart of the village of Trunch, very dog and human friendly. Easy walks from the cottage, pub just up the road and 10min drive to the beach.
Had a fantastic holiday beautiful location. Very peaceful not far from the beaches. This was my second visit and will stay again. All my six dogs had a wonderful time as well
Great cosy cottage, just the right size for two. Very comfortable and compact, well equipped and a lovely secure garden for our dogs. Within easy reach of the beaches and woods and Weavers Way almost on the doorstep so plenty of choice for walks. Best of all no fireworks nearby to upset our older dog so we all had relaxed evenings throughout the week. Hosts Terri and Richard were most welcoming and the thoughtful welcome pack was much appreciated.
We have stayed at Red Roofs a number of times & it is the most relaxing cottage that we have booked for both ourselves & our dog. We stayed over the Xmas period & it was a delight to see the Christmas tree lights twinkling as we arrived. The welcome pack was excellent & we had the surprize bonus of the owner dropping off a tin of home made mince pies mid stay.
House and gardens were wonderful, we had a great stay! Just watch out for potholes in the run up to the property!
