The Fosters, John, Angela & James have over 30 years of experience providing luxury holidays and short breaks at their 12 cottages at the family farm, on the spectacular coast of East Yorkshire and at their 3 superior York city centre apartments, located within the city walls, only a stone's throw from York Minster. in the historic Old Brewery building.
Both locations are central for all attractions, the farm is only 3 miles from RSPB Bempton Cliffs and the magnificent chalk cliffs of Flamborough Head. The city apartments are central to the historic city of York. All locations offer everything needed for a fabulous stay and all offer peace, tranquility and superb luxury.
Both farm and city locations have allocated car-parking spaces, with a secure bike store available on the farm and this can be arranged by request, at York. Electric vehicle charging points are available at both High Barn and Field House sites and are provided at no additional cost.
The prices charged are all inclusive - there are no surplus charges to surprise you!
Fantastic property, really comfortable and well equipped. The owners couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. A great location to go and see the Puffins at Bempton Cliffs, plus places like Filey, Scarborough and Whitby.
We stayed for 3 nights for my daughter's 9th birthday. The accommodation was well thought out and very comfortable, and the welcome hamper was a lovely and thoughtful touch, with a well stocked kitchen of various utensils and cooking implements. There were books, games and the Owl cam was a rare treat. The cottage is very well placed for visiting Bempton Cliffs, Sewerby Hall and Danes Dyke (I hadn't appreciated quite how well placed we were!) and it was beautifully quiet. We saw a barn owl, pheasants, rabbits and deer from the patio. The wild flower meadow at the back was very pretty. We're al...more
Fantastic cottage, well equipped, very clean, Lovely countryside location and very peaceful. First time staying at High Barn and we will definitely be back. Have also stayed at Fieldhouse Farm cottages on several occasions and always had a great stay.
This is our third stay with Heritage Escapes at High Barn over a period of 6 years. As always the accommodation is immaculate.
The upkeep of the facilities is carefully monitored and managed so that the standards by the owners are kept to their highest - which is 5 star from us.
The location is peaceful and attractions around this area are easy to get to.
We enjoyed our stay enormously and will definitely return in the future.
The apartment was lovely. We struggled on the 2 low settees in the lounge. Everything provided.great location in city walls and close to tour bus stop.
The owners were very responsive and helpful. The cottage was beautifully furnished and well equipped; the extras were much appreciated especially the cake and flowers. It was particularly delightful having breakfast in the sunny conservatory.
Our grown-up children enjoyed the swings, and it was a lovely stroll to the pond where you could sit and watch the ducks. We saw rabbits, a hare and also roe deer in the top field. The seed feeders attracted many birds including pied wagtails, and it was a joy to watch the swallows swooping over the field.
Highlights were watching the sea birds at...more
We enjoyed our holiday again at the Hop Store. Perfect secure parking. The lift to the second floor is a great help. Don’t need to use the stairs. Bed quilt was a bit thin on cooler nights.
Always such a warm, friendly welcome from John, Angela and James. We really enjoyed our stay, thank you. As with previous stays at the cottages, Ostlers Corner was clean and comfortable and perfect for the 3 of us.
Our granddaughter loved the play area and particularly the trampoline. She didn’t want to leave.
The location was perfect for us for the beach and Sewerby Hall which was a lovely day out with their Easter activities.
We will definitely be returning.
Field house farm is an excellent location. Nice and quiet, very well presented and clean. An ideal location for walking. Some great pub/Eateries within easy walking distance theShip at Sewerby, theMartonian just down the road. 2 miles from Bempton cliffs RSPB we saw puffins, gannets, razerbills, and lots more along the coast down to Flamborough, Dolphins and Seals. Bridlington is much quieter than Scarborough also we found it was cheaper as well. Sowerby house and garden's is a good day out.
Our second stay at the brewery and that says it all. This is a brilliant place to stay. Spotlessly clean, comfortable and extremely well equipped, the apartments are in a perfect spot for exploring York. We really can't fault them and will stay again next time we fancy a mini break in York.
Many thanks once again for the generous welcome basket!
The owners were very responsive and helpful. The cottage was beautifully furnished and well equipped; the extras were much appreciated especially the cake and flowers. We were delighted to find the downstairs bedroom had a King-size bed and the room was spacious and not narrow as in the photos.
