From the minute you step through the door you can see all the effort that has gone into this cottage. Well appointed kitchen and bathrooms, comfy beds and seating areas, especially the Garden Room boasting fantastic views over the garden. Lovely warm welcome from James too on arrival. Nice welcome pack with crisps, juice, cereal, bread, marmalade, tea, coffee, milk, biscuits and chocolate… lovely. Just a beautiful place and fantastic stay. Will definitely visit again!
My sister and I stayed here to celebrate my birthday and what a gem it is! Beautiful accommodation with very high standards throughout and very well located for exploration. We did find the mattresses quite hard to sleep on and we fashioned a ‘topper’ for my sister with a spare duvet however this was completely overshadowed by the wonderful property. Thanks so much for our stay and the exceptional welcome basket you provided - next time we will make sure we pick up some of the delicious apple juice you produce on the farm. Would love to visit again with other family members. Thanks ☺️
Lovely, cosy cottage with everything you could need. Watching the barn owls was a wonderful experience.
Heritage Escapes is in the perfect position for a trip to the Yorkshire Coast. Go towards the model village at Sewerby and you will find a large car park , not the model village one! It is a pay and display car park but you can stay all day. You are then on Sewerby Head a delightful grassed Headland with a tarmac path where you can catch the small land train, when in season! Or you can stroll down to Bridlinton. It is approx. 1 and a half miles away! check for yourself! Once in Bridlington there is a path along the promenade. The view from The Headland is beautiful! Go to the Spa which is f...more
Wholeheartedly recommend this wonderful property on a farm with several other holiday cottages. Great space for a family of four plus dog, we loved the open fire and the overall standard was excellent with plenty to do in local area. Coast is amazing with trips to Flamborough beaches and Scarborough - best fish & chips we’ve had in ages (Lifeboat Fish Bar)! Bondsville model village in Sewerby takes you back to holidays of old and lovely hot chocolate in tea room. Owners friendly and very helpful when had a problem with EV charging, thanks for a super relaxing holiday.
Enjoyed the stay - everything was in vg order, well presented and clean & tidy. The Old Brewery is a gem and very close to the City Centre - ideal - would hope to visit again.
One of the nicest places we have stayed . High quality cottage in a beautiful area , with the added bonus of resident barn owls .we watched them every day . The area was also brilliant with scarborough filey and bridlington near by .Bempton rspb nature reserve is amazing with volunteers there to tell you all about the wild life .This is the second time we have stayed in the last couple of months and we will definitely be back it's amazing .
We had another excellent holiday in York ,which was made all the more enjoyable because we were staying at The Old Brewery Hop Store. It is very convenient for the centre of York ,and a secure parking space is quite rare in the City.Although the apartment is centrally located it is relatively quiet at night.
Lovely stay again with the grandchildren. Grandchildren asked to come back to the same cottage as we came to last year. lovely welcome from John when we arrived. lovely and warm. grandson saw with his grandad a white owl one morning. Lovely welcome pack. Throughly enjoyed are stay as always. Grand children want to come back next year. We travelled to different places over the week granddaughter loves Whitby, grandson loves the beach and the amusements didn’t want to come back.
My first visit and highly impressed. I requested additional equipment for my mobility and they were in place on arrival. We were greeted by one of the owners which was lovely. Parking space was just by front door which was helpful as I have limited mobility. The only quibble was the directions we were given sent us to the wrong accommodation but as it was just down the road we worked it out. Wonderful stay and will be back
As a returner to Heritage Escapes FHF we can only reiterate what we’ve said previously. We stayed in The Byre for the first time this time and had a thoroughly enjoyable break. We slept better than we do at home in the incredibly comfortable bed, with great pillows. I never seem to get it right at home regardless of how much I spend on pillows. All the cottages we’ve stayed in, across the two sites, have been beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean, a real home from home and if there is ever an issue the HE team are quick to sort it. Highly Recommended accommodations in beautiful surround...more
The Turnip House was perfect for us. Nicely furnished and had everything we needed. Really enjoyed our stay and will return
As always our default go to when visiting York. Not disappointed this time either.Parking can be challenging for some but this is made clear when booking, to have the onside parking is a real bonus. The only reason for the score of 4 on condition was shaving light on bathroom mirror not working and dishwasher left a film on glasses and cutlery. This did not impact on our stay as we ate out mostly and there is plenty of other light to shave by.I only mention these points as I know how important everything being right is to the owners. If only all holiday accomodation was to this standard.Definat...more
The Granary was lovely. Peaceful, comfortable, very clean - everything you needed for a relaxing stay. close to the main coastal towns with plenty of places to eat nearby. Highly recommended - we would definitely revisit.
This was our 3rd stay at The Old Dairy and was just as lovely as before. The cottage is perfect for 2 people and as the weather was a bit cooler we took full advantage of the log burner. The kitchen is well equipped, everything beautifully clean and the location is lovely and quiet. A really great base to explore the local area and on the way home my partner asked when we would be going back...
