The Fosters, John, Angela & James have over 30 years of experience providing luxury holidays and short breaks at their 12 cottages at the family farm, on the spectacular coast of East Yorkshire and at their 3 superior York city centre apartments, located within the city walls, only a stone's throw from York Minster. in the historic Old Brewery building.
Both locations are central for all attractions, the farm is only 3 miles from RSPB Bempton Cliffs and the magnificent chalk cliffs of Flamborough Head. The city apartments are central to the historic city of York. All locations offer everything needed for a fabulous stay and all offer peace, tranquility and superb luxury.
Both farm and city locations have allocated car-parking spaces, with a secure bike store available on the farm and this can be arranged by request, at York. Electric vehicle charging points are available at both High Barn and Field House sites and are provided at no additional cost.
The prices charged are all inclusive - there are no surplus charges to surprise you!
We stayed as a family of three over a week in April, whilst relatives stayed in The Roost at the same farm. A beautiful holiday cottage with all amenities one could wish for. The best part is the conservatory. There is no better place for the morning coffee or to read in the evening. The location is great, too. Only minutes to drive to Bempton Cliffs or Flamborough Head (both paradises for bird watchers!) and also very close to Bridlington. We can highly reocmmend this cottage!
We have just returned from another excellent stay at The Hayloft High Barn. The cottage is very comfortable and in beautiful peaceful surroundings yet only a short drive away to places of interest. Sewerby and Bridlington are only a few minutes away. On this visit we have been lucky enough to see a deer, a hare and plenty of birds from the cottage windows. We always look forward to seeing what the owls are doing on the webcam and we were so pleased to a pair of owls with eggs in the nesting box this time. The welcome basket was very much appreciated. We love staying here and look forward to ret...more
A short last minute break but what a beautiful location Owl House was. So much wildlife to be seen from the window and the Owl box with the camera was an added bonus watching the owls come and go. Great location near Bempton cliffs and Flamborough to do some stunning coastal walks. Wildlife in abundance !
The house was beautiful- very clean, kitchen well equipped - warm and very comfortable. A very relaxing stay thank you

Our second stay at the Spinney. Even better in the spring weather. Everything you could need, very comfy, stylish, clean. Can't inagine there is anywhere better to stay in the area.
Perfect in so many ways - ideal peaceful location very close to the Minster, secure off street parking, beautifully appointed apartment. Would highly recommend.
We have been visiting Field House Farm once or twice a year for the last 16 years. It is like a second home for our family.
The charming cottages, in an idyllic setting, are always spotless, cozy and well maintained, with the Foster family on site to help should there be any minor issues.
Enjoyed another lovely break at the old brewery; our first in this apartment; all 3 apartments are equally lovely and have their own individual character.
Such a great location for exploring York and yet a quiet little oasis to come back to and relax.
Very comfortable cottage, lovely and warm and well equipped, additional benefit of separate lounge, quite farm location with good amenities for shopping in nearby Bridlington. Could benefit from a non- slip bath mat for shower tray. Perfect location for East coast towns of Filey and Hornsea and primarily Bempton Cliffs for RSPB.
Turnip House is a good quality, well equipped holiday let set right on the edge of Bridlington, near Sewerby. It was warm, comfortable and spotlessly clean. It's suitable for two and a dog. Unlike a lot of two person lets it has plenty of space. There was a lovely sun room, which was handy, as although sunny during our stay in May, there was a bitter North wind. The dog love this room as she could sit and watch dog telly, which consisted of 6 heifers, all also spotlessly clean. Great for seeing the birds at Bempton Cliffs or longer excursions into the Yorkshire Wolds or East Coast.
The Malt House is an amazing apartment, situated so close to the centre of beautiful York with the added bonus of parking. It’s very light, comfortable & has been beautiful converted to a high standard with high standard contents.
The Malt House has everything you could possibly want in a holiday let & the owners supply an amazing welcome hamper full of local produce.
I had the double room & found the bed very comfortable, the guests sharing the twin found them a little to firm, that definitely isn’t a complaint it’s just a personal preference.
I would definitely recommend The Malt House ...more
This was our 2nd stay at The Byre (previously Aug 2023 when recommended by a friend) and we were just as delighted as last time. High standards, thoughtful touches (milk, fresh apple juice, Yorkshire parkin - yum) and a great location for us as we like coastal walking, woods ( we recommend Danes Dyke) and sea birds at Bempton Cliffs (I'd never realised gannets were so majestic). Was it Arnie who said "I'll be back"?
This is our 5th visit and was just as good as ever. Accomodation excellent as expected and we were blessed with sunshine. We had previously visited in autumn so it was lovely to see the farm and the local area this time of year. We will definitely be back soon!
