Our stay at Durham was most enjoyable, Homelands are one of the few fully adapted accommodations that we have visited, having space and all devices in place to deal with severe mobility issues. Minor issues we were with the inner porch door, this would slowly swing shut when opened for wheelchair entry. Difficult for a carer on their own while operating a wheelchair. Also lowered kerbs in surrounding area almost non existent I.e when walking the down to the Crusoe Inn. Liaison with Fife Council is needed to sort these issues. That apart it is a superb friendly holiday accommodation to go an...more
We stayed in Emsdorf at Homelands Friday to Friday so we could go to the Edinburgh fringe, it was our second time staying and we had a brilliant time The lodge is beautiful and has everything you could possibly need if you are disabled It’s well thought out and to a very high standard Lovely village with good bus links into Leven and train to Edinburgh Would definitely recommend and we hope to be back again
Great accommodation for wheelchair users, loads of space to maneuver. Biggest wet room I've ever seen! Very quiet to say you're attached both sides, had everything we needed and we definitely hope to return. Only 2 downsides were there were no windows to open in the downstairs bedrooms just patio doors so was very warm at night and upstairs the windows only open a crack. Also could do with another comfy chair in the sitting room, it was fine for us as 5 adults (3 seater, 2 seater and a riser recliner) but it sleeps 8.
Another great weekend with the family. Londge is great and suits our needs. All the equipment is there for my husband. Thank you once again for a very enjoyable stay.
I booked this accommodation after reading the good reports from previous guests and I can say that I, my husband and family thoroughly enjoyed our week.the accommodation was centered round my disability, and all my needs were looked after the staff in Paxton Centre were very helpful, the ladies in the coffee shop provide lovely food and cakes. It is a pity the coffee shop is only open Monday and Tuesday. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed the views over the Firth of Forth. All in all I would definitely recommend the Homeland Trust for a special holiday
This was our second visit to Homelands It’s a Godsend for us as a family My husband has Parkinsons and his mobility is extremely poor The lodges are spacious and so well designed that he can move around freely inside using his power chair There is all the equipment he needs for a comfortable stay and everything we needed to enjoy our stay too The location is perfect the view from our lodge was breathtaking We were able to drive to the East Neuk easily and enjoy all that is on offer Staff were welcoming and so helpful We will be back next year!
Although the lodge has everything we need for our family the cleanliness has declined each year. homelands is classed as luxury accommodation so we expect the lodge to be spotless in our arrival however that was not the case. A later check out would be beneficial.
Staying in Drummochy is the highlight of our yearly family holiday together where there is ample room for us all to stay comfortably and have a fun week. The house has all the facilities required to make my husband , a stroke survivor, as independent and safe as possible. There are wide corridors and doorways, low counters in the kitchen area, reclining armchairs to assist sitting and standing, a wet room and a closomat toilet. For the rest of the family, the facilities make a week long stay comfortable and easy to manage. The location of Homelands in Lundin Links makes access to the villages ...more
This is the second time we have stayed at Cardy, this time for longer. The accommodation is excellent and every effort has been made to cover all guests needs. We were lucky to have a few days of sunny warm weather which enabled us to enjoy sitting outside. It was so peaceful and good to relax in such well kept gardens and surroundings. I would certainly recommend Homelands to anyone looking for first rate accessible accommodation.
