Set in 22 acres in South East Cornwall, Kernock Cottages has five luxury 5* Gold cottages sleeping 2, 4, 6 and 8. Peaceful and tranquil, but only 6 miles from Plymouth, 9 miles from the beach and 15 miles from both Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor. Dogs and children very welcome.
We stayed in the Roost at Kernock Cottages for my mum’s 70th birthday. The facilities were excellent - giving everyone the space they needed to spend quality time together or apart. The bedrooms were large and comfortable, and having an en suite each made a real difference. The secluded location meant that our private gardens had stunning views over the valley, and we felt safe letting the dog and my toddler run around. The outside space gave multiple options for relaxing and enjoying a drink or a chat.
What really made the stay exceptional, though, were the hosts. Damian made us feel insta...more
This was our second visit to Kernock cottages and our memories were rekindled in spades! These cottages are truly dog friendly with secure gardens and 6 acres of fenced fields and woodlands for inquisitive dogs like ours to explore. Damian and Louise are fantastic hosts with many helpful tips and recommendations for walks, beaches, pubs etc. They are always on hand to answer a query but never intrusive. The cottages ( we’ve stayed in 2 different ones) are cosy, clean and well equipped with welcome gifts for your canine companions and a well stocked welcome pack for you.The views from the hot t...more
We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Kernock Cottages for a long weekend. The cottage was lovely, very well equipped, super-comfortable beds and an amazing huge hot tub with an incredible view across the valley!
This is probably the most dog-friendly place we have stayed in. Our dog received his very own ‘pup cake’ (soo cute), a new toy (which he loved!) and towels & blankets just for him!
There was also a warm water hose for his feet on the front decking, so practical.
Icing on the ‘pup cake’ was the massive ‘Central Bark’ field, with balls, throwers, frisbees & bins, safely fenced...more
We booked a stay at the Coach House because we wanted a relaxing holiday with our dog. When we saw how dog friendly the accomodation was we couldn't say no, and I'm so glad we didn't! It's quite often you'll book somewhere 'dog friendly' only to arrive and find out there are a long list of rules to follow. Kernock cottages are the definition of dog friendly, even providing a secure walking location on site. It's the perfect getaway for pooches and people!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Heather Barn with our dog. We had the place to ourselves on the days we were there, with nothing but the sound of birdsong, a tawny owl, and sheep in the nearby field. I enjoyed Central Bark as much as our dog as it was just heaven to sit and look at the Bodmin Moors, while rabbit chasing was taking place in the secured area.
Heather Barn is fully wheelchair accessible complete with a wetroom. The cottage/barn conversion is very spacious and kitted out luxuriously and we didn't want for anything. Louise and Damian are fabulous hosts, and supplied us with ...more
We had a lovely stay in Owl Barn. The accommodation was faultless and the cottage was equiped with absolutely everything you could need. The welcome hamper of food items was amazing with lots of local products including coffee, milk, sausages, bacon and bread.
The hosts were extremely welcoming and gave us plenty of information of places to visit and activities to fill our days. The membership at China Fleet was a fantastic added bonus and we spent a whole day there using the facilities including the driving range, adventure golf, squash courts, swimming pool and spa area. We also visited t...more
