This is put 3rd stay and certainly won’t be our last either! Booked this for my wife’s birthday with all our friends and family and couldn’t fault it, we had the best time. The lodge was perfect as there was 14 of us staying we had full use of the cottage and lodge facilities as well as the games room which is definitely an added bonus, the owners are lovely and helpful with any questions you might need answered, thank you
After passing this place numerous times we decided to book. We took our 2 grandson who absolutely loved it. They played football , scratch, we played uno round the outdoor table after a bbq. We all loved the hot tub. The boys loved looking at the stars and red moon through the binoculars that were provided. A great 15min walk to village and beach. We visited Seahouses and beadnell beach. Fantastic place so quaint .
This was our 2ndvisit and we really enjoyed it. Big improvement at the rear with decking area and "grass". In a good location for beach and village
Shepherds Retreat was a quirky Shepherds Hut in a good location. Although starting to get alittle tired to the pictures shown on website. We had great weather however this came with alot of flies therefore it was flie gazing rather than star gazing. Fly spray was provided but spraying alot came with a smell. We had a lovely BBQ on the Saturday night. A pair of scissors would have been handy within utensils, but managed to cut meat using the knife. Third time in this property and hope to come again next year. It has everything we need to enjoy a get together with family. A short walk to a great beach, places to eat and have a drink. Interesting location to visit in the area.
Second stay at the Bothy, love the peace and quiet. Have booked again for 2025. Polly the Pointer loved the garden.
overall the location ,the size and amenities are good. however the cleanliness was below our expectations.and some areas needed attention. The kitchen sink and washing up bowl were dirty. the front bathroom definitely needs upgrading and cleaning, The thermostat on the large oven isn't working, The tin opener is needs replacing. the oven trays also. The tv in the lounge was old with muffled sound and has to be retuned every time you turn it on if you want to watch BBC. The conservatory was lovely and we spent most of our time in there.
