We (two adults and a dog) had an absolutely wonderful three night stay. We were already familiar with the area so we're looking forward to it and boy did it deliver. The accommodation is superb. Very cosy (thank you for turning down the heating!) and comfortable for us all. Brilliant location and so well equipped. The welcome pack was amazing. Mistletoe loved the cheesy bones! Having a truly secure garden is brilliant. Missy settled in very quickly. I would, and already have recommended it to family and friends.
We stay at Shepherds Lodge at least once a year for our holidays but decided to have a long weekend in the lodge to get our dogs away from the noise of the fireworks, which upsets them. It worked a treat, the dogs were relaxed so in turn we were also relaxed. We’re hoping to book to stay at the lodge again for bonfire weekend next year. Already booked for visit in June 2023. We’ve tried other cottages that are “dog friendly “ but none compare to Mains cottages. So peaceful for all the family, two legs and four. And as Sam says, for us Mains Cottages really are “home from home”. I wouldn’t h...more
Can’t fault the hut - everything you need for a toasty weekend away in November ! Lovely little touches - chocolate and Prosecco, long fire heats up quickly making you feel happy and warm. Hot tub took a while to heat up but no complaints as it was mid November when we visited and it decided to rain and winds were strong ! Excellent location - just up the road from beadnell village where there are dog friendly pubs , beach is beautiful. My first time glamping - wasn’t sure what to expect but it was wonderful-shower hot and runs well. Cooking facilities spot on , overall it was great! Will d...more
It was lovely, nice place, lovely village, great walks , and the owner was very lovely. XXXXXXXXXXXX
Loved staying here fab views cosy place to go back to after a long day exploring and the hot tub was just what we needed too Thankyou x
Cottage is excellent for a few days break, however we did find it a bit too far out from the village for our elderly dog to manage several times a day also when it gets dark it is pitch black and there is only a very narrow footpath to negotiate along a very fast road so we wouldn’t recommend in this instance
We were a party of 6 adults, 3 teens and 5 dogs - the cottage was just perfect! (Plus 4 adults and 4 dogs in The Bothy) staying at October half term. The welcome pack of cake, fizz, chocolate and tea & coffee plus treats for the dogs was a lovely touch. Big Rooms to socialise together (conservatory and games room) and a sitting room for some piece and quiet. Large kitchen where we could all breakfast together and a great sized garden for the dogs to mooch around before we hit the beach. The games room was a big hit! Location was excellent, walking distance to the village and local beach. We...more
