A family funeral required a short stay on the island. 15 Duke Street provided the perfect, restful place to stay. Spotlessly clean, all facilities, perfectly located for the beach, castle, pub/eating places and shops.
A warm welcome awaited us from the owners John and Shirley, they were fantastic as we were later in arriving - the cottage was nice, warm, cosy and welcome surprises. We were over for a specific event, however there was lots of information on things to do in the welcome pack. I would of loved to wander around the garden but it was too dark by the time we got back in the evening. We would definitely recommend this cottage. Loved the location as it was out of town and remote, perfect, We will definitely be back.
The cottage is lovely and well-equipped, in a beautiful location with plenty of space, and the hostess is very friendly, welcoming and helpful. We couldn't recommend it more and definitely hope to be back
I stayed here alone for two weeks at the start of November. Nice location at the end of a lane/track up a hillside, overlooking a valley.....fairly easy to find in my opinion. Coming from an area that suffers from 24 hour noise and light pollution I especially appreciated the peace and darkness. I expect on a clear night with a new moon the night sky would be quite a sight. Although on a farm it's not a busy noisy working farm. Just a few sheep, ponies and a few chickens pecking away here and there. .....plus a few wild ducks using the pond. Ideally located for easy access to all parts of...more
Wonderful four night stay in The Pines in Port Erin, the cottage was beautiful with everything you could possibly need, clean and so comfortable, the owners Gaye and John were so welcoming and were there if you needed them, they even went over and above for our comfort and stay. If you want a comfortable, clean and well equipped place to stay in the IOM then The Pines is a must. The cottage is beautifully situated among pines trees with wonderful views beyond. There is quite a walk up hill to the cottage, but we had a car so no problem and it is so worth it when you arrive there! Just as the t...more
The house is situated on Peel promenade with great access to a sandy beach. The bedrooms were large and plenty of hanging space. The views from the front windows in the living room have to be seen to be appreciated. Close to all amenities including the pub 20 steps door to door. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Really enjoyed the stay and would definitely return.
Welcoming "home from home" experience. Every detail thought through from beach towels and parasols to brolleys. Working wi-fi, fabulous dining and conservatory area, breakfast kitchen and dedicated games room. Few minutes walk to the local Glen followed by lunch at the pub and steam train journey to Castletown for afternoon tea. Perfect.
Het was een hele mooie locatie, mooie grote tuin, waar je gebruik van mocht maken. Alles wat je nodig had was aanwezig. Bij aankomst stonden en al een paar leuke verrassingen klaar. Kortom heerlijk verblijf gehad.
Lovely little cottage in a great location .. awful weather for our stay but very warm and cosy A pint of milk on arrival would have been a great help .. we have found this at all other island escape properties that we have stayed in and was a great touch - a minor point for lovely stay
The cottage is very well equipped and everything of a high quality. It has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Margo provided a welcome pack of essentials (and some treats) which was very useful having arrived on a Sunday. It is a relaxing location and has extensive grounds. It is a perfect location for exploring the middle and north of the island and it is not difficult to reach the southern points of interest. I have no hesitation in recommending this property for anyone with transport. I didn't use the public transport so am unable to comment on whether it would work for those without a car.
Well set up ,very helpful guy sorry can't remember name explained about gym and spa very clean , swallows warm beds commy, plenty logs and kindling, enjoyed our staycation, never managed to find salt and pepper
We stayed for a week but wish we had booked for longer. Glen Chass farmhouse is a wonderfully comfortable house with excellent facilities and a splendid view across the Bay. There are lovely, scenic walks on your doorstep and shops are two minutes' drive away. The owners, Jackie and Graham, are extremely helpful and friendly. We loved leafing through the many books, never tired of the view and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Many thanks, Rowena and Malcolm from Worcester
We had a wonderful stay at The Fushias and The Hawthorns. We were there with family (9 of us) and having two cottages worked really well. The cottages are well equipped and spacious.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bradda Place in Port Erin. The property had everything we needed and more besides. It was modern, warm, clean and comfortable and we were a party of 8. We loved the deck off the kitchen with the bifold doors and were able to make the most of the sunshine, even in October. It’s a 5 minute walk down to the beach from the house and into the town. We would highly recommend Bradda Place and can’t wait to go back again.
Beautiful cottage with beautiful views, the garden was lovely with a patio area where we enjoyed a bbq. The house was very clean and facilities were perfect. Beds were comfortable with extra cushions and blankets available. The welcome pack was a lovely touch especially the bread, cheese and wine. Amazing stay thankyou very much.
We absolutely love this place and like to re-charge our batteries here a few times a year. The views are amazing, it’s very roomy and close to all amenities. Looking forward to our next stay
This is a lovely cottage and would definitely go again. Views of the sea, walk off road to the sea in 5 minutes which is a great early morning dog walk. Lots of nice walks from the door. Fantastic play room. Only thing to note is the garden is not dog secure and there may be sheep in the surrounding fields. There is a small paved area that is more secure. Highly recommend…
Had a great time at Elgin Retreat, what a beautiful house with everything you need, down to fruits, snacks, teas, coffees and even homemade scones. The hosts were very nice and attentive too. The hot tub was an excellent feature. Would definitely go back again and highly recommend it. :)
This was our first vist to the IOM and wont be our last. We arrived on friday for a short 3 day break in mid october, arriving late to the property on thuraday night we where glad to find the entry was guarded by a key pad and not a traditional key, this made everything hassle free and we didnt need to contact anyone to arrange key transfer. We entered the property to find a modern furnished appartment with all modern applicances. (Dishwasher, washing machine, smart TV) The next few days where spend visiting the isle and doing lota it had to offer. A lost of the attractions where either...more
Excellent in all aspects! Highly recommend, very clean and well presented, a welcome pack of goodies. Close to basic amenities. Good and plenty of walking, bus at door step, no need for car.
Brookville House is a great place to relax, inside and out, it has spacious rooms and can accommadate a large family. It is close to all amenities and an ideal base from which to explore the Island.
The property is an extension to the owner's house and is modern, clean and comfortable. Amy made us very welcome and gave us some useful tips on local amenities and places of interest. Location a minor issue as there was a construction site opposite but it didn't really disturb us as we were out most of the days. As the work opposite is completed this aspect will improve and the property will be more secluded. A very pleasant stay and thank you to Amy for her kindness and help in enjoying a wonderful island.
All fantastic Maximum attention Without a doubt, on future trips we will repeat with Island Escapes. All the best
An excellent three week stay. The farmhouse is warm and comfortable and the addition of the log burner makes for cosy evenings. The host Elaine was welcoming and extremely helpful with advice on where to take the grandchildren on Hop Tu Na. The grandchildren enjoyed the extra touch of a little table and chairs just for them. A visiting ‘Jack’ and ‘Lizzie’ gave my granddaughter someone to fuss over. The view from the top field was worth the walk. By putting out a few feeders she got to see a variety of bird life every morning from her bedroom window. We daily saw rabbits in the approach field a...more
A fantastic bungalow in a great location just 5 mins from all the village shops bars bus and train, with superb beaches again 5 mins away. This is our second visit here in 12 months but with a 67% price rise for next year our last.
We spent wonderful days here on the island! In this beautiful cosy and comfortable house. The kitchen facilities were good! A great place to stay!
This is a very nice two bedroomed house right on the TT route by Mile 13. The outdoor spaces are lovely and provide plenty of room and sniffage for a dog. The kitchen is fully equipped, like a home from home. The living room is large, snug and comfortable. You are only a short walk through a lovely wood to the beach. A pub and Café that does lovely food is 20 minutes by foot. There is car charging in the car park opposite the pub but I used the outside sockets at the house to charge mine. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. If there was one tiny thing wrong (and why we gave it a 4 rather than 5 ...more
Comfort out of this world, top quality equipment, Showers fantastic, Parking with reserved space wonderful, the lighting effects are lovely We had a wonderful holiday, and would certainly stay at Keys Cottage again
For myself and my partner, this is our second time staying at The Coach House. For us, it’s perfect. It’s isolated so you get the benefit of the peace and quite but only 10-15 minutes from Peel as and when you need food or want to go out for a meal. We love the layout and the open plan kitchen and lounge and the wood burner is the best bit. The wood basket and kindling is always full to the brim so you can have many cosy nights in.
Lovely house in a lovely location. We arrived to some essentials in the fridge, tea/coffee and cleaning products. Kitchen is well equipped for a self catering stay. Some really nice things left for the dog too.
Clean, comfortable and we'll equipped property. Great base for exploring the island. Shore Hotel down the road is a great pub and place to eat
Lovely recent two night stay here, wish it had been longer. It really is a beautiful cottage in peaceful surroundings.
We had a wonderful stay at The Fushias and The Hawthorns. We were there with family (9 of us) and having two cottages worked really well. The cottages are well equipped and spacious.
Traie Twoaie is by far the best holiday rental we’ve ever stayed in. The location is perfect with sea and river views, there’s always something to look at. It’s also quiet and very easy to park right outside. Everything is well catered for, of high quality and it’s also very comfortable. We are used to superking beds at home so struggled with double beds, but all the same the mattresses were good quality, along with the bedding and soft furnishings. We did find the duvets very hot though! It was incredibly clean too, not a speck of dust anywhere. It’s clear that Island Escapes do an excel...more
We loved staying at Close Vark. From the quiet, the peaceful surroundings to the magnificent view. There are all the basics you need to cook, eat and relax. There was also a kind touch of some milk, butter and bread. The owners were so friendly and kind when we needed somewhere to store our bicycles and the access is superb. We would definitely stay again
A delightful little place for a relaxing break. This property has been very tastefully renovated to the highest order and we highly recommend it .
It is a well equipped modern apartment which was immaculate. The location is good but note that the street parking closest to the property is limited to 2 hours during the day. There is very little natural light in the apartment so had to have the bright lights on whenever we were in there. Initially we thought we would be likely to return to Tides Reach but our view on that did change. The downside for us, apart from the lack of natural light, was the early morning noise from upstairs. Not ideal when you are on holiday. I might still recommend the property to others because of its location ...more
Brill holiday , amazing place to stay , lots of parking , Derek and Jane really nice . Easy access to the village of Port Erin and Port St Mary which are both beautiful places .
We had a lovely week in the stables. We were very impressed with the owner's commitment to eco products and their effort to be as green as possible, whilst still providing a top rate cottage. I would definitely recommend them to friends.
Very enjoyable stay, dogs loved the walks and views amazing. Smelt musty downstairs and toilet upstairs was right outside a bedroom door. It didn’t spoil the staycation and had a lovely time.
The most stunning location on the island. Well equipped and comfy. Gas made us feel unwell initially, so kept window wide open. Shower room didn’t drain very well and caused minor flood. But the view and isolation made it perfect.
Nice cottage in quiet location, everything you need to unwind, house keeping could have been bit better( cobwebs and dust and knife in cutlery draw covered in spread)
The property is exactly as it is described in the advert. Big rooms (the bedroom on the top floor is huge!) and very clean. We had to have our kettle replaced and Island Escapes did so very efficiently and speedily. My only very minor comments is that the TV is difficult to work. The parking space is a real bonus. I would rebook and recommend anyone to stay.
Loverly peaceful place to stay. Convenient for exploring the Island and in walking distance of Douglas with all its shops, eateries, pubs and ferry terminal.
Heather Cottage has been renovated to a high standard. Port St Mary is lovely and we enjoyed some great walks in the south of the island. All in all we had a good week despite the stormy weather. The open plan living space works really well and great for entertaining friends and family on the island. Not sure about the effectiveness of the heating system but house seemed very well insulated. Island Escapes very helpful. Beds in the second bedroom rather uncomfortable.
Great location fab weekend stay. Loved everything about Peel. Food drink harbour castle walks beach. Look forward to staying again next year
Thank you for a fantastic base to explore the island. We found the house exceeded our expectations in comfort, style and space. It was lovely to have a few extras left for us and beds and sofas were very comfortable. Attention to detail was second to none and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We are planning to return and will certainly hope to be able to book here again.
Beautiful apartment with incredible views of Douglas Bay. Everything we needed and excellent service
The cottage is absolutely stunning, as is the location. There was some lovely Manx cheese and a fresh brown loaf for us upon arrival. However, there are mice in the cottage, or at least they come in night. We foolishly left our food on the side, and they had a feast on our butter and the biscuits. There is no disinfectant spray so be mindful to take some with you to spray the kitchen sides before cooking. There is also damp in the bedroom which has a very strong smell that is unpleasant. Apart from the mice and the damp, the remainder of the stay was lovely.
Everything you could possibly need was in this accommodation. We only stayed three nights , could have stayed there forever. Downstairs bedroom allowed my husband, who has mobility issues, to enjoy his break even more. Only down side was there was no sea view but we knew that when booking. Door in downstairs en suite does not close properly……..otherwise superb.
We found North Haven in Ramsey an excellent place to stay on our Staycation and our arrangements to stay there through Island Escapes were simple and efficient The property was ideally located across the road from the delightful Mooragh Park and only a short walk from the wonderful Ramsey Swimming Pool Cafe and the local shops. The property is modern and in good condition and was very clean. While this was an excellent home to stay in for a break, I would suggest that the double bed is just too low for an old guy like me and that a few hat and coat hooks in either the utility room or one of th...more
We have stayed in self catering cottages all over the UK over the past 20 years and this is one of the best. Quiet rural location close (walking distance) to Ballasalla village, shop, pharmacy, steam railway, Abbey restaurant, pub and more… The cottage is well equipped the only thing it lacked was a towel rail or hooks and some toiletries (shower gel and shampoo) in the bathroom. The gated courtyard is beautiful. We would happily stay there again. I loved hearing the distant sound of the steam train whistle this morning.
Perfect. A surprise welcome pack of high quality local produce starts the holiday well. The immaculate cottage is fitted to a very high standard with all appliances required and even a king size bed. Highly recommended.
Spacious, comfortable, warm and well equipped with lots of nice touches. We would highly recommend this property.
We had a wonderful time staying at The White House. Everything was clean and comfortable. All our needs were taken care of, so we felt as though we could happily live there indefinitely! Beach 200m away, and the Shore pub/hotel 5 mins walk.
We chose this location since it is ideal for Laxey Beach which is just a few minutes walk away down the hill. The bungalow has three decent sized bedrooms and was clean and comfortable, and there is ample off road parking for two medium sized cars. An Italian restaurant and a pub is within a five minute walk, and there are a couple of beach cafés also within easy walking distance. From the bungalow, the famous Laxey wheel can be reached on foot in about 30 minutes, and a little closer is the electric railway interchange where trams to Douglas, Ramsey and the Snaefell Mountain can be caught. ...more
Really enjoyed my week in this warm and comfortable cottage. Well located for exploring the island and a couple of good decent-sized walks available from the door (and a shorter one very conveniently into Peel).
My wife and I recently had a 5-night stay at 2 Sunnyside Cottage and were absolutely delighted with it. Our expectations were completely exceeded, from the amazingly well-equipped kitchen / diner to the cosy comfortable lounge complete with log burner. As there were just the two of us, we only used the double bedroom which had copious storage and a superbly comfortable bed. The other (twin) room looked equally good. The bathroom was also most acceptable. We are old hands at holiday rentals, and we can safely say this is the best yet in fact it felt more like a home than a rental. Park...more
Baljean is a lovely property to stay in and is in a beautiful location. It is very well equipped and was exceptionally clean. The condition was excellent. We had an issue with the washing machine while we were there and island escapes responded promptly even offering to pay for any laundry we needed doing while it was fixed. The only thing that could improve the property is more comfortable lounge furniture. The chairs and sofa really aren’t nice to spend a whole evening sat on.
Woodcroft is in a great location if you want to be near the track in Douglas yet it is in such a peaceful setting it feels like it is in the countryside. Watch the facilities - the shower is a very tight fit, not suitable if you're larger than average!
Excellent property would stay there again good location only down side very tight to get in & out with van & trailer
We had a great stay in a well appointed house. Lots of room and great location. Thank you for the stay.
It was lovely staying at this cottage. The views were lovely. It was a brilliant idea to have the bedrooms downstairs. Our dogs loved watching out of the window at the many cats and we were thrilled to see several Manx cats. I think the only hiccup we had was reversing into the yard but we got the hang of it after a couple of days. The Island itself is well worth a visit, so beautiful and the Fushia Hedges were a joy to see.
Highly recommend this property, our only criticism is that the beds were not as comfortable as the rest of the property.
Golf View has been modernised well and is very comfortable. Handy for golf course, Bradda Glen, and a pleasant walk down the upper promenade to the village. However an issue is the lack of ventilation in the bedrooms. There are no opening windows. While it is possible to leavevthe sliding door open in one room, the other has a hinged glass door and can't be left open. Island Escapes' servicevwasvfriendly and excellent. Even very promptly replaced the one-legged corkscrew!
We would highly recommend this beautiful home for a holiday, we will definitely be returning. We are frequent visitors to the Isle of Man and I am so pleased we found this holiday let. The house is cozy, has everything you need for a comfortable stay and is ideal for a couple or a family of 4. The furnishings and finishing touches are of high quality. A short walk from the sea front and Peel centre it’s ideal if you don’t want to travel far, as there’s plenty to do in Peel. Thankyou for having us
The Milking Palour cottage is in a very quite area with great views. The fields at the front of the cottage had cows and calves in with Scotland in the background. The cottage was very well equiped and comfortable to stay in. We had our disabled daughter with us and the access into and around the cottage was great for her. This is our second time staying in the cottage and it will not be our last. Thank you very much from the Gray family.
A welcome pack on arrival was great. Clean tidy and great location. Would definitely recommend......
Fantastic location - amazing view across the Bay and to the Castle. The property smelt very damp when we first arrived and took a couple of days with the heating on and airing the place out before this dissipated. Perhaps someone needs to go in the day before the booking and air the place out thoroughly and put the heating on. The outside light didn't work which meant it was very dark approaching the door. The second (much smaller) bedroom had a very hard and uncomfortable mattress. The smoke alarm was directly above the bed and had a very annoying flashing red light that kept me awake. You...more
Our stay was longer than the average, so it was so nice to be somewhere that clearly was a family home, not pure holiday let. Quite a quirky layout, with a light and bright - and well equipped - kitchen and dining room. The lounge was a bit of a dreary and gloomy room, however. I do hope the decision has been made to send the sofa back to Hospice! The carpets throughout were showing the effects of a busy summer, and desperately needed a clean, as did the grouting in the shower and the fins on the extractor fans. I'm sure the efficient staff have that in hand. The bathroom was great - and ...more
Had a lovely stay in the cottage, it was comfortable and had everything we needed. We took our dog and there was an unforgettable walk down the beach just a 15 minute walk away. Absolutely loved the idyllic setting of the cottage waking up to just the sound of birds and seeing all the stars at night. Loved it and would definitely stay again. Nicola - Bolton
The apartment was in a good location near to the beach and good for walking my very small Yorkie. Also near to local supermarket. Facilities in the apartment were very good - kitchen, bathroom etc. and everything was in reasonable condition. I have stayed in a number of properties before booked through Island Escapes and all were very good but this is my first time trying an apartment.
Aptly named, tucked away but easy access to trams, buses & Douglas centre and beyond. So comfortable, the beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept in away from home. Also very clean & convenient for us. Highly recommend!
A lovely, cozy cottage providing a great getaway for the three of us (me,wife and dog) Well kept, clean and perfect for a week away relaxing. Good location for seeing all the north has to offer and definitely recommend popping into Bride tea rooms! Massive thank you to the owners who made it so homely and comfortable.
Very comfortable property - and a lot of space for two people!! Crockery and cutlery are minimal but that maybe reflects the fact that there is no dishwasher. The property is out of the way and up a farm track which might be tricky for some, but it is a very peaceful location.
Lovely place to stay. Everything we needed was there. Bed was a little uncomfortable for me but that is a personal thing. Was a decent walk to the beach but quite steep on way back. These were both minor issues and did not spoil our stay.
Great location and a lovely little house. Well presented on the inside. Fantastic little touches like Manx butter, bread and biscuits upon arrival. There are some areas for improvement, such as a drains smell in ensuite (masked a bit by some air fresheners), cobwebs around ceiling and external cobwebs all around windows (and subsequently quite a few spiders we had to remove) and little things like the absence of oven gloves. But all easily fixable. Overall, our family loved it there and it served us really well for our 10 day stay. Recommended.
Fabulous clean, spacious property. Ideal open-plan family living space. Large, well-equipped kitchen. Great base for exploring the island. Walking distance to shop, pub, bus and steam train! Small outdoor area,(enclosed but not secure enough for our dog!) but there are fields at the back of the property which are ideal for dogs. Also 2 min walk to Colby glen which is beautiful.
Stansfieid House is in a lovely part of the island. The view from the living room is stunning regardless of the weather. The house was warm and comfortable and the owner very helpful when needed. The sofa could do with a clean/re-cover. Great walks from the door.
Lovely stay but fairy lights outside not working or freezer compartment- mentioned on previous reviews too!
A lovely traditional cottage in a convenient location. It had everything we needed during our week in the Isle of Man. Staff in the office were friendly and helpful. Two small shops locally, and places to eat in the town.
Don't rely on your sat nav to find the cottage, or indeed more or less anywhere on the island. The cottage was well-equipped and the welcome pack was a nice added touch. Very quiet and peaceful location. Main negative point was the sofa was very heavily stained everywhere, so much so we didn't like to sit on it without a cover! Also, the TV was too small for the size of the room.
Great place to stay in peel. The house gets damp at this time of year and the layout is different but you get use to it. The back door key can be a bit dodgy.
We had a lovely stay at Thie-Ma-Chree. Beautiful views and comfortable and convenient cottage. Do think position of shower needs to be changed though.
Stayed here with our grown up children, plenty of space for all and everything we needed in the house. Very comfortable in a peaceful location and a short walk to Perwick Beach, which is stunning. Would definitely recommend to others.
Enjoyed our stay at Thie Loutey a lovely little cottage although I would say the spiral staircase would make it difficult for anyone with any mobility problems as it's very narrow. Bedroom was lovely with plenty of room. Kitchen living room are small but well equipped, breakfast essentials had been left for us which was very much appreciated and a lovely gesture (bread milk butter cheese)there was also coffee tea etc in the cupboard. Bathroom was nice although I did find the shower a bit difficult to turn on/off but maybe just needs more use. Towels linen and hand soap supplied only thing ...more
What a gorgeous little cottage! Although the weather was against us, the cottage was so cosy to come back to after a day of adventures, the log burner had us toasty warm and comfortable in minutes! Wyllin Cott provided everything we could possibly need, the kitchen was well equipped, from potato peeler to coffee pod machine and the use of space was ingenious. We found the bedroom to be very comfortable, we took our 6 year old too who slept like a log in his little bed and particularly loved playing the board games provided in front of the fire while the wind was howling outside. We popped over...more
