Stunning location and great accommodation. John and Fiona were perfect hosts. We enjoyed feeding the animals with Brandon who was very informative. The Byre was very comfortable and had a lovely little garden. We also made use of the sauna and bbq hut and had a very relaxing afternoon. We would highly recommend and will definitely be back.
We were a group of 12, split between The Swallows and The Fuchsias for a staycation long weekend. The properties have been finished to a high standard, very modern but the exposed beams and wood fire keep the cosy/rustic feel. The kitchens had everything you could possibly need, the fresh bread and Manx cheese selection was another nice touch. Jacuzzi and sauna were a welcome addition (unfortunately the steam room was out of action but not an issue). Overall very impressed and would highly recommend.
We needed a break away from everything and this was perfect. Beautiful place to stay with plenty of walks nearby. We could chill and do nothing but listen to the birds and enjoy the “special spaces” Loved the little welcome pieces that John and Shirley scattered around. Close Taggart is a special place and we will be back.
I was in quarantine for 2 weeks and it was made a lot easier by having a fantastic neighbour. She came out to talk to me and offered to do shopping for me. The bungalow was really lovely and spacious. The bed was really comfortable. There were essentials and treats there when I arrived. I was given really easy directions to follow and found the property easily. I would describe it as fantastic. It was just a shame that I wasnt allowed out to enjoy being in port Erin. The avenue and the people living there were so friendly. It's in a lovely location
Lovely bungalow in a great location. The owners live close by and are very helpful and friendly. Lovely stay and would return.
We had a wonderful holiday and rest recharged our batteries we are coming back in October and can’t wait
My husband and I have just spent a great three nights in the north of the island at Close Vark Farmhouse. Booking with Island Escapes was quick and easy and we were given clear instructions how to reach the property. First impressions on arrival was Wow. The apartment was light, airy and spotlessly clean. We loved the south facing balcony where we sat each morning to have our breakfast and any time we were in the property, helped along by the lovely sunny weather we had our entire stay. The view over the garden out to the northern hills was very special and we just liked to sit enjoying the pe...more
Fabulous cottage, high quality accommodation and incredibly high spec premises. Highly recommended! All bed linen, towels, toiletries are the white company . All appliances and equipment is John Lewis and it has all the mod cons. Netflix, automatic Blinds, auto closing roof windows if it rains! A dyson hoover and hand held version. Quality throughout and very spacious.
The property is fantastic, high end finishes and all home comforts. Conservatory and outside decking made the stay as weather was fabulous and we were able to eat breakfast and have drinks outside whilst people watching. We could have stayed longer and will definitely return.
I booked this property for my sisters hen weekend staycation and it was perfect and the owner was so helpful would definitely recommend a stay
What a wonderful place to stay hopefully will be back everything was so well run and friendly with no exception.
Very lovely an comfortable. Everything within walking distance. Had a wonderful stay. Thank you so very much.
Well off the beaten track ,so we ate in in the evenings.wonderful grounds to stroll around and relax in. The only problem was “ flakey WiFi” We would go again if we have the chance.
The property and location are charming. Secluded away from the hustle and bustle of the road and town. Fabulous views of the countryside. The Tower is very small although quaint and has everything you need..cozy lounge, equipped kitchenette, great walk-in shower and a very comfortable bed with pretty fairy lights giving it the charm and magical feel. The hot tub is a great facility.. easy to fill and heat.. plenty of wood to burn which is an added bonus.. would definitely recommend.
Only disadvantage with this property - there is very little outside space. Inside is very well equipped with plenty of space in all rooms and excellent bathrooms.
Over the years have done a lot of Staycations, even before they become fashionable, so know what to expect. The stay here was one of the best, but would strongly recommend that you do your research as to where it is. I did this after reading another review but still got confused.
After such a long period of restrictions here in the north of England and being prohibited from visiting our daughter, her husband and our grandchildren for 16 months we needed this holiday to be fabulous and it was. The property and the location are beautiful. Our party comprised 4 adults and 2 under 5's and our only slight negative was that as the kitchen and living room were upstairs, we could have done with a safety gate at the top of the wooden staircase. That aside we could hardly fault the place.
Amazing property in a perfect location, couldn’t fault any aspect of Packet House and would recommend to anyone, child friendly too
The cottage was perfect for our self-isolation week (2 adults). It is in a beautiful location with a big front lawn and attractive views down the hill and out to sea. The owner was very friendly, attentive to our needs and respectful at all times of isolation requirements. The beds were incredibly comfortable, exceeding all expectations. The cottage was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. It did get a little cool in the lounge in evenings but there is a heater in the bedroom wardrobe which we used so this was not a problem. All in all a fantastic stay and would love to stay the...more
So chilled and relaxing Sea Bank . Stayed for 2 nights . The beach is on your doorstep and the view is amazing. The cottage has everything you need even a dishwasher and washing machine. Outside seating with a view. I think I want to live there did not want to leave will definitely be back again .
Would have been 10/10 if garden had been completely secure for the dogs and downstairs toilet would have been handy! Lovely location, in a beautiful cottage - ideal for a family get together! Definitely recommend
My family (myself, my 2 young children, my husband, and my mother? had a fantastic long weekend stay in The Stables at Knowckaloe Beg. Accommodation was perfect and the children enjoyed seeing the animals and 'being farmers'. My mum enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the countryside setting and spacious accommodation also.
What a fabulous place to stay, location incredible, the whole family really enjoyed the stay, great place to recharge the battery’s, will be going there again soon. Would highly recommend this place , thanks for your help in making this a great family break
This is a lovely modern property done to a high standard. Has everything that you need. My only issue was the overly bright lighting especially in the lounge area
The Rowans is a nice comfortable cottage that is full of character, with everything you could possibly need for your get-away. We would happily stay there again. There was only 2 of us but the cottage has 2 downstairs bed rooms and 2 upstairs 'loft' bedrooms all very nicely decorated. The cottage is ideally situated across the road from the Mitre Pub and on the TT course.
Beautiful cottage in a lovely location. Very clean accommodation and a cosy atmosphere. The only thing that let it down slightly was the extremely poor WiFi speed. We were unable to watch Netflix as the films would keep buffering and we got a notification that we'd reached the cap of the Internet for the month which wasn't great. Overall our experience was a lovely one.
Very functional, pretty, clean, well catered for and homely. Everything worked well. Maybe just one minor point- there is no parking space outside.
A lovely little cottage in a great location - so near the beach. The sunsets were beautiful (we were blessed with good weather). Very relaxing. Will recommend it to all our friends.
Our expectations were surpassed the minute we walked in. The ambience is relaxing and you really do feel like you are on a beach holiday. The property is so beautifully decorated and spacious, ideal for a family break and entertaining. The location is just perfect, right by the beach and close to all Laxey has to offer including the ice cream parlour - warning to the dieters! The little additional touches made us feel right at home and so welcomed. Even our furry friend had a special basket filled with treats and handy bits. The house has everything you could possibly need and want for an enjo...more
We enjoyed our stay at The Corner House for 2 weeks, first weekend we had problems with internet and tv and no hot water for shower. Thank you to John and Nick who sorted this out. Really close to shops and the beach. Would definitely consider staying there again as we have family in Peel.
We have been very lucky to stay at Kilravock for a 2 week stay as we have renovations at home. The property is beautiful & has everything you need with a fabulous location & beautiful view. Only downside when the weather is warm you can’t open the windows as the road is very noisy so we bought a fan for night. Again only a small issue but the blinds in the bedrooms don’t block out the light so curtains would help this & with the noise especially if your a light sleeper. Island escapes team once again thank you, you have a fabulous team.
Very usable apartment with easy parking. Plenty of towels and mainly well equipped. Just got the impression kitchen utensils had been well used and not always replaced with anything of a similar style or quality. Looks nice on the for sale pics though. Island escapes were very helpful and quick to respond when I asked for items. Golf course is opposite, shops down the hill.
Lovely house in a great location The rear garden is a sun trap, and we ate alfresco every day Superb location right in the middle of the old town. Friendly area Book restaurants in advance as we couldn’t get in the Tuscany or the Kizuna, both of which looked lovely. Mind your head on the upper floors as I hit mine most days :)
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Palm Villa. It had everything we needed and the location was amazing. The outdoor area to the front of the property made it convenient for our doggo too. Lots of space for a larger group and all rooms spacious and beautifully decorated. Highly recommend for a lovely break
perfect location, very accommodating and no troubles with the house as a whole. occasionally the dishwasher would leak and the hot tap in the kitchen didn’t seem to work. apart from this the house was perfect for a staycation, the garden was by far the best part!
We had an amazing time. The only thing to make it better would have been if the outside area was self contained from the farmhouse courtyard, so our dog could have been outside and we could have had the doors open in the heat. The views were beautiful and the peace was lovely, very relaxing.
A good few days in one of our favourite places. A comfortable property with excellent views across the bay. The cottage is well equipped but in need of some tlc. E.g. two dining room chairs needing repair, back door extremely difficult to open, floor boards in hall and on decking at rear of property.
My husband and I have just had a 4 day staycation at Surfside. The house was very well equipped with everything ( and more) that anyone would need. There was also lots of interesting books, DVDs and games - useful for rainy days. Great location for the beach and amenities. Would recommend this accommodation!
Excellent location. Some maintenance issues ( toaster broken, shower tray taped up, staircase handrail ).
If you want peace and quiet fantastic place to go cleanliness and utensils in kitchen Highly recommended
This is the first time we had stayed in Port St Mary on the Island so it was quite a change for us. The House has been extensively modernised. It has a large rear garden, and a drive that you can park a vehicle on, but it is quite a squeeze for a SUV. We found the kitchen rather small to entertain from and it lacks basic cooking equipment. For instance no food tongs, difficult to cook on the grill without! Sadly the cutlery and crockery do not match and is a disappointment for a cottage that is a 4 star. The bathroom and e-suite are fabulous and really well presented. We had a very nice time a...more
We really enjoyed our stay. The farmhouse is lovely. Loved the added extras of bread, milk and eggs being left for us. All local produce as well! Plenty of room for a family of 5 and our dog loved exploring the large garden. The only negatives we have are that the mattresses and master bed could do with an update. Also, the single bedroom was so unbearably hot. The radiator can not be turned off as it’s required for the AGA. We had to move the mattress from the bed into the master bedroom as my daughter just couldn’t sleep in the heat. Wasn’t ideal but it didn’t ruin our staycation, we still l...more
Everything was managed smoothly and we really enjoyed our stay. We could have done with sharper knives in the kitchen and my friends found the single beds rather uncomfortable. Otherwise very pleasant.
This property is all about the views! Absolutely lovely. Well equipped & clean, only downside was no outdoor chairs to enjoy the great weather & amazing views.
Great little cottage for two, has everything you need. In a quiet street in Castletown. Friendly, helpful locals has a good choice of restaurants and pubs. Local shops for self-catering. Efficient bus service will take you throughout the Island. No need to use your car. Suggest you get a Travel Card especially if you plan to use the steam and electric Trains, great value. We would recommend this property and would return.
We needed a place to stay whilst self-isolating after being permitted to enter the Isle of Man on compassionate grounds. We booked this place on a Sunday for the Monday boat arrival. The directions and key arrangements were excellent and we soon got everything in and unpacked. There is a parking space at the rear of the property making this easy. Everything had been prepared for us perfectly. The apartment is very comfortable and the view from the front room is simply stunning. It's a five minute walk to the supermarket, and a similar walk down the hill into town or down to the prom. Islan...more
My son and I stayed at West View following a hospital appointment in the UK and had to self-isolate on return to IOM. It was a beautiful, peaceful place to stay. It was comfortable and well equipped. We arrived in the evening and it took me a while to locate the instruction folder, which contained the wifi password. The wifi did cut out a couple of times, but was mostly reliable. I found instructions for the washer-drier, but none for the oven , the dishwasher, or the heating. I did find that it was cold in the middle of the day and would have liked to boost the heating at times. Overall we ...more
Really nice spacious apartment and location. Apartment had a good kitchen and lounge area. A nice walk into the town, good choice takeaways and found a very reasonable restaurant. Good pubs and access to public transport was excellent.
Excellent location and on the whole clean and comfortable. However some negative issues. Biggest issue was fridge freezer stopped working. Smaller issues was that it is in need on maintenance. Tap in washbasin in bathroom was loose. The shower glass curtain didn’t work very well so leakage onto floor, the trim on the blinds was missing, the appearance of the front door was very unappealing, the kitchen was not well provisioned (no scissors, no teapot, no jug of any sort etc), also the instructions in booklet for WiFi were out of date. All this despite being advertised by Island Escapes as h...more
We really enjoyed our stay at The Lodge and couldnt fault the customer service. Only comment is that for the price we paid we would expect better quality.bedding and towels.
