Having enjoyed 4 staycations with Island Escapes, this is by far the top of the return list. Great!!
Wonderful cosy stay in the beautifully renovated Eva's Cottage. Very well equipped and sparkling clean with those extra touches of quality linens, towels and bathroom products. Location is in the historic Keys area of the easy going town of Castletown with a magnificent Castle to walk by everyday. Local restaurants and pubs are a most. If you prefer not to drive there's a regular bus service from the town connecting to the rest of the island. Beautiful sea and harbour views a 5 second walk from the door. To add to that this local agency really cares about their guest experience. Genuinely atte...more
A warm welcome awaited us from the owners John and Shirley, they were fantastic as we were later in arriving - the cottage was nice, warm, cosy and welcome surprises. We were over for a specific event, however there was lots of information on things to do in the welcome pack. I would of loved to wander around the garden but it was too dark by the time we got back in the evening. We would definitely recommend this cottage. Loved the location as it was out of town and remote, perfect, We will definitely be back.
We loved Maggie Cottage. From the view to the cottage itself, it’s a peaceful setting. The owners are so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be back!
Wonderful four night stay in The Pines in Port Erin, the cottage was beautiful with everything you could possibly need, clean and so comfortable, the owners Gaye and John were so welcoming and were there if you needed them, they even went over and above for our comfort and stay. If you want a comfortable, clean and well equipped place to stay in the IOM then The Pines is a must. The cottage is beautifully situated among pines trees with wonderful views beyond. There is quite a walk up hill to the cottage, but we had a car so no problem and it is so worth it when you arrive there! Just as the t...more
The cottage was beautiful and supplied with everything we needed - lots of good kitchen equipment and perfectly clean. Parking in that whole part of Peel is a bit tricky, but that can't be helped.
As this is our third stay it is hard to know what else we can say that has not already been said. We have known this property for many years so knew the area and the quality already. Shirley and John are excellent hosts, 'invisible' as expected but, THERE if and when required for a chat or to admire their gardens. A truly lovely break of a week, unaffected by the less than clement weather this year, in a warm and comfortable cottage for two. Thank you both for letting us share a small part of your wonderful property once again.
The house is situated on Peel promenade with great access to a sandy beach. The bedrooms were large and plenty of hanging space. The views from the front windows in the living room have to be seen to be appreciated. Close to all amenities including the pub 20 steps door to door. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Really enjoyed the stay and would definitely return.
Welcoming "home from home" experience. Every detail thought through from beach towels and parasols to brolleys. Working wi-fi, fabulous dining and conservatory area, breakfast kitchen and dedicated games room. Few minutes walk to the local Glen followed by lunch at the pub and steam train journey to Castletown for afternoon tea. Perfect.
Well set up ,very helpful guy sorry can't remember name explained about gym and spa very clean , swallows warm beds commy, plenty logs and kindling, enjoyed our staycation, never managed to find salt and pepper
What a wonderful little compact cottage with everything you could possibly need and such fantastic sea views. It was so nice to just chill and spend ‘time to stand and stare’. We will be back Thank you
We stayed for a week but wish we had booked for longer. Glen Chass farmhouse is a wonderfully comfortable house with excellent facilities and a splendid view across the Bay. There are lovely, scenic walks on your doorstep and shops are two minutes' drive away. The owners, Jackie and Graham, are extremely helpful and friendly. We loved leafing through the many books, never tired of the view and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Many thanks, Rowena and Malcolm from Worcester
We had a wonderful stay at The Fushias and The Hawthorns. We were there with family (9 of us) and having two cottages worked really well. The cottages are well equipped and spacious.
Beautiful cottage with beautiful views, the garden was lovely with a patio area where we enjoyed a bbq. The house was very clean and facilities were perfect. Beds were comfortable with extra cushions and blankets available. The welcome pack was a lovely touch especially the bread, cheese and wine. Amazing stay thankyou very much.
Excellent opportunity to get a break away from home. With amazing facilities and friendly and attentive hosts, my stay experience with my mum was the peace we needed
the house was very well stocked with games, books ad kitchen equipment. The overall feel of the house was comfortable and everything was good quality. The one thing I found to be poor was that once parked in the parking space you were directed too by the instructions given you had to walk around the front of the house to access the house. this was very inconvenient as it was a quite a walk and it was raining and dark. other than this we were all thrilled with the quality of everything inside the house. Superb location!
We had a lovely, short staycation at Packet House. The property is very well furnished, comfortable and homely, very much ‘home from home’. The views from the bay window are beautiful. It’s ideally located in Castletown, a short walk from the shops, pubs and restaurants in town etc. There are some stunning walks in the area which is a great bonus.
This is a lovely cottage and would definitely go again. Views of the sea, walk off road to the sea in 5 minutes which is a great early morning dog walk. Lots of nice walks from the door. Fantastic play room. Only thing to note is the garden is not dog secure and there may be sheep in the surrounding fields. There is a small paved area that is more secure. Highly recommend…
The property is an extension to the owner's house and is modern, clean and comfortable. Amy made us very welcome and gave us some useful tips on local amenities and places of interest. Location a minor issue as there was a construction site opposite but it didn't really disturb us as we were out most of the days. As the work opposite is completed this aspect will improve and the property will be more secluded. A very pleasant stay and thank you to Amy for her kindness and help in enjoying a wonderful island.
Brookville House is a great place to relax, inside and out, it has spacious rooms and can accommadate a large family. It is close to all amenities and an ideal base from which to explore the Island.
Excellent in all aspects! Highly recommend, very clean and well presented, a welcome pack of goodies. Close to basic amenities. Good and plenty of walking, bus at door step, no need for car.
Stayed in Ellen Vannin for a winter weekend trip with family of five. The accommodation is very tastefully decorated and very well equipped. It is located right by the harbour with fantastic views and within easy walking distance of facilities in Castletown. Parking was straightforward and the accommodation is an easy short drive from the airport.
Thankyou for a lovely Christmas break. Was such a lovely place to have a little Christmas stay with out family and apend time with relatives. Host Elaine was lovely and very helpful. Thanks again Claire
All fantastic Maximum attention Without a doubt, on future trips we will repeat with Island Escapes. All the best
Good size bedrooms and living area. Well designed bathroom. Laundry facilities excellent. Kitchen works well. Warm. Underfloor heating downstairs. Wi-Fi reliable. Would come again. Thank you.
A fantastic bungalow in a great location just 5 mins from all the village shops bars bus and train, with superb beaches again 5 mins away. This is our second visit here in 12 months but with a 67% price rise for next year our last.
Gorgeous home with amazing views! Lovely stay with friends and would recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay or a staycation here on Island!
The Coach House is the perfect place to stay if you want a quiet, relaxing place to stay on the Isle of Man. It is a very comfortable self catering property, that is well furnished with everything you could need for your stay. It is well placed, a mile or so from Peel, which makes it a good base to explore from, and only 20 minutes from the Airport. There are a few good, local restaurants within easy driving distance and a reasonable size Co-op for shopping about 10 minutes drive away.
Loved every minute of the stay here. My dad lives just round the corner so this was a beautiful spot to have some precious family time. Roll on for the next visit
As soon as we stepped inside the front door it confirmed we had made the right choice in selecting Traie Twoaie for our mid-winter IoM break with the family. Everything in the house oozes quality and seems to be relatively new. Ideally positioned in Ramsey where supermarkets, lots of independent speciality shops, restaurants and take-aways were within walking distance and, the Mooragh Park just a step across the road. The Promenade/ beach were also a short distance away and, perfect for our dog walking activities. The swimming pool was within walking distance where there is a superb cafet...more
This is a very nice two bedroomed house right on the TT route by Mile 13. The outdoor spaces are lovely and provide plenty of room and sniffage for a dog. The kitchen is fully equipped, like a home from home. The living room is large, snug and comfortable. You are only a short walk through a lovely wood to the beach. A pub and Café that does lovely food is 20 minutes by foot. There is car charging in the car park opposite the pub but I used the outside sockets at the house to charge mine. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. If there was one tiny thing wrong (and why we gave it a 4 rather than 5 ...more
Great location, Very clean. We'll stocked kitchen for cooking. Just a few minor points as the actual dining area is upstairs some simple trays added would help carry food upstairs. There is also a glass door blocked to the back of the property. It would be more private to either put a blind on the door or a curtain for privacy. Front door needs some draft exclusion again maybe a heavy duty curtain. This was our second time in the property. The shower in the main bathroom despite various instructions still did not emit hot water only cold.
We had a wonderful stay at The Fushias and The Hawthorns. We were there with family (9 of us) and having two cottages worked really well. The cottages are well equipped and spacious.
A fantastic few nights in a luxurious house. A huge, comfortable bed. The deep bath which we enjoyed soaking in bubbles. Close to amenities, Everything in the house was to the highest standard.
We loved staying at Close Vark. From the quiet, the peaceful surroundings to the magnificent view. There are all the basics you need to cook, eat and relax. There was also a kind touch of some milk, butter and bread. The owners were so friendly and kind when we needed somewhere to store our bicycles and the access is superb. We would definitely stay again
Very comfortable cottage - once heating sorted out. Good quality furnishings and although modern it retains its historic charm. Excellent location, close to local amenities and coastline paths. Highly recommended
A delightful little place for a relaxing break. This property has been very tastefully renovated to the highest order and we highly recommend it .
It is a well equipped modern apartment which was immaculate. The location is good but note that the street parking closest to the property is limited to 2 hours during the day. There is very little natural light in the apartment so had to have the bright lights on whenever we were in there. Initially we thought we would be likely to return to Tides Reach but our view on that did change. The downside for us, apart from the lack of natural light, was the early morning noise from upstairs. Not ideal when you are on holiday. I might still recommend the property to others because of its location ...more
Brill holiday , amazing place to stay , lots of parking , Derek and Jane really nice . Easy access to the village of Port Erin and Port St Mary which are both beautiful places .
We had a lovely week in the stables. We were very impressed with the owner's commitment to eco products and their effort to be as green as possible, whilst still providing a top rate cottage. I would definitely recommend them to friends.
Well equipped, recently rennovated cottage in a lovely location. Easy parking. Would happily return.
Very enjoyable stay, dogs loved the walks and views amazing. Smelt musty downstairs and toilet upstairs was right outside a bedroom door. It didn’t spoil the staycation and had a lovely time.
The most stunning location on the island. Well equipped and comfy. Gas made us feel unwell initially, so kept window wide open. Shower room didn’t drain very well and caused minor flood. But the view and isolation made it perfect.
Our Island Escapes property was one of the best places we have ever stayed! It was located within a 2-minute walking distance of the town centre, shops, pubs, castle and beach, and positioned on a quiet road. The house was extremely well maintained, cosy, and decorated to a high standard. The beds were comfy, linen fresh and clean, and the facilities were all excellent. The little touches of complimentary coffee, tea, bread, milk and cheese were lovely touches, and it was a bonus having our own car parking spot located behind the house. The staff were phenomenal communicating with us quic...more
Nice cottage in quiet location, everything you need to unwind, house keeping could have been bit better( cobwebs and dust and knife in cutlery draw covered in spread)
Loverly peaceful place to stay. Convenient for exploring the Island and in walking distance of Douglas with all its shops, eateries, pubs and ferry terminal.
Great location fab weekend stay. Loved everything about Peel. Food drink harbour castle walks beach. Look forward to staying again next year
We have stayed in this property now a couple of times and no doubt we will be staying here again soon. Extremely happy with the property and its cleanliness and also fantastic customer service. Bernadette
Fabulous stay - the house was spotlessly clean. Really comfortable beds and bed linen. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need. A real home from home. The only things we would have liked is a shelf or caddy in the shower for shampoo etc as other than on the floor there is nowhere to put this. It would also have been nice to have a to in the main bedroom. Overall our stay was excellent. We will definitely be back.
This was meant to be a mini break for two, but with one broken leg it sadly ended up being a solo stay. The Little Thatch cottage is very sweet, the daffodils and snowdrops were all springing up and the garden was a joy to look out on. Proximity to the beach is welcome and the walks windy!! The cottage is really well provisioned, great wifi, lots of boxed set games, underfloor heating, powerful shower and well provisioned kitchen were all highlights.
Everything you could possibly need was in this accommodation. We only stayed three nights , could have stayed there forever. Downstairs bedroom allowed my husband, who has mobility issues, to enjoy his break even more. Only down side was there was no sea view but we knew that when booking. Door in downstairs en suite does not close properly……..otherwise superb.
We love to stay at his cottage this is our 2nd stay and it is always lovely. We noted a couple of things that could improve the facilities. It would be helpful if a welly/dirty boot racking could be supplied in the car port with some hooks for wet outdoor wear. Also, there are no hooks in bathrooms for towels and no hand towel provided in the downstairs toilet. We thought the sitting room heating was a bit on the cool side.
Perfect. A surprise welcome pack of high quality local produce starts the holiday well. The immaculate cottage is fitted to a very high standard with all appliances required and even a king size bed. Highly recommended.
We had a wonderful time staying at The White House. Everything was clean and comfortable. All our needs were taken care of, so we felt as though we could happily live there indefinitely! Beach 200m away, and the Shore pub/hotel 5 mins walk.
Would return to Baljean and use Island Escapes again, great customer services, they really want you to enjoy the stay. Home itself was perfect, with really nice features and quality fixtures and fittings, not to mention the stunning views.
Really enjoyed my week in this warm and comfortable cottage. Well located for exploring the island and a couple of good decent-sized walks available from the door (and a shorter one very conveniently into Peel).
We had a lovely half-term break in Waverley Cottage - would definitely recommend to other families! Good location, (though the drive could be better designed to easily accommodate more than one car!) Lovely spacious interior, with all the home comforts you would need. We didn't use the garden as we stayed during the winter and it was still pretty cold out, but that is a lovely addition for the warmer months; especially for children!
My wife and I recently had a 5-night stay at 2 Sunnyside Cottage and were absolutely delighted with it. Our expectations were completely exceeded, from the amazingly well-equipped kitchen / diner to the cosy comfortable lounge complete with log burner. As there were just the two of us, we only used the double bedroom which had copious storage and a superbly comfortable bed. The other (twin) room looked equally good. The bathroom was also most acceptable. We are old hands at holiday rentals, and we can safely say this is the best yet in fact it felt more like a home than a rental. Park...more
Great location, fab views, lovely walks nearby Really nice and comfortable apartment - highly recommended
Woodcroft is in a great location if you want to be near the track in Douglas yet it is in such a peaceful setting it feels like it is in the countryside. Watch the facilities - the shower is a very tight fit, not suitable if you're larger than average!
Excellent property would stay there again good location only down side very tight to get in & out with van & trailer
We had a great stay in a well appointed house. Lots of room and great location. Thank you for the stay.
Spacious house, ideally located close to Douglas. Made a great home from home for the week and had everything we needed.
Great experience Beautiful views Clean Warm & good value Stairs are tricky if you have mobility issues but manageable Love our stay
A very comfortable and well equipped apartment. The location is great for Laxey village, trams and Laxey Wheel.
Amazing stay - location brilliant, comfortable stay and everything you would need. Defiantly will stay again. The view was amazing!! Thank you island escapes. Liz
A great location and really comfortable accommodation. It helped that the weather was kind to us as well.
Golf View has been modernised well and is very comfortable. Handy for golf course, Bradda Glen, and a pleasant walk down the upper promenade to the village. However an issue is the lack of ventilation in the bedrooms. There are no opening windows. While it is possible to leavevthe sliding door open in one room, the other has a hinged glass door and can't be left open. Island Escapes' servicevwasvfriendly and excellent. Even very promptly replaced the one-legged corkscrew!
Clean, comfortable, warm. Perfect location and well equipped. I really can’t fault it. Right near the beach, as it’s an upside down house, it’s very quiet in the bedrooms even when windy. It’s my second stay here and won’t be my last.
We stayed over the New Year and this is a fab find.. I would highly recommended for people who love a sea view and great accommodation it was beautifully quiet too.
The house was very clean and tidy, cosy and comfortable, and with a very well stocked kitchen and an excellent oven and hob. The views across the bay are stunning and the set-up and layout of the place works well for relaxing, working, eating and watching the world go by. The only negatives were the pillows were foam and therefore slightly uncomfortable for a side sleeper, the hot water from the shower went from hot to luke warm after 1-2 minutes, and there is no bath tub. The upstairs area is also a bit pointless and we never used it after the initial exploration, but it does suck up all the ...more
Had a lovely stay in the cottage, it was comfortable and had everything we needed. We took our dog and there was an unforgettable walk down the beach just a 15 minute walk away. Absolutely loved the idyllic setting of the cottage waking up to just the sound of birds and seeing all the stars at night. Loved it and would definitely stay again. Nicola - Bolton
Pleasant retreat for the evenings after exploring the island. Good base, good access to shops, bus and walking facilities.
Aptly named, tucked away but easy access to trams, buses & Douglas centre and beyond. So comfortable, the beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept in away from home. Also very clean & convenient for us. Highly recommend!
What a loverly property, plenty of space in and outside, our stay was in February and the house was always lovely and warm, will definitely be back.
As before what a lovely house We have stayed here twice and we will be coming back to Beaches Reach.
Very comfortable property - and a lot of space for two people!! Crockery and cutlery are minimal but that maybe reflects the fact that there is no dishwasher. The property is out of the way and up a farm track which might be tricky for some, but it is a very peaceful location.
What a beautiful house! We stayed at the Studio on staycation, and truly could not fault this property. Great location and beautifully renovated.
Scenic View lives up to its name with wonderful views across Port Erin. It is a spacious and comfortable apartment with everything we needed and I would highly recommend for a stay on the Isle of Man.
Great location and a lovely little house. Well presented on the inside. Fantastic little touches like Manx butter, bread and biscuits upon arrival. There are some areas for improvement, such as a drains smell in ensuite (masked a bit by some air fresheners), cobwebs around ceiling and external cobwebs all around windows (and subsequently quite a few spiders we had to remove) and little things like the absence of oven gloves. But all easily fixable. Overall, our family loved it there and it served us really well for our 10 day stay. Recommended.
Stansfieid House is in a lovely part of the island. The view from the living room is stunning regardless of the weather. The house was warm and comfortable and the owner very helpful when needed. The sofa could do with a clean/re-cover. Great walks from the door.
Lovely stay but fairy lights outside not working or freezer compartment- mentioned on previous reviews too!
A lovely traditional cottage in a convenient location. It had everything we needed during our week in the Isle of Man. Staff in the office were friendly and helpful. Two small shops locally, and places to eat in the town.
Don't rely on your sat nav to find the cottage, or indeed more or less anywhere on the island. The cottage was well-equipped and the welcome pack was a nice added touch. Very quiet and peaceful location. Main negative point was the sofa was very heavily stained everywhere, so much so we didn't like to sit on it without a cover! Also, the TV was too small for the size of the room.
Quirky and quaint but very charming and cozy cottage with a really nice 'feel' to it. Fantastic views of the sea, morning coffee with a sunrise view, just lovely. Handy off road parking. Great for train lovers as the electric trams pass just behind the cottage
I was visiting family, who live close by, so perfect! Lovely walks and house has everything you need for a short stay. This is the second visit and I wouldn’t hesitate to book again.
We had a very enjoyable winter stay at this cottage, which made a good base for exploring the Island on the bus network (there is a stop on the main road, quite nearby). The cottage itself is small but cosy and we enjoyed the log burner and comfortable bathtub. There was a problem with the boiler while we were staying which was resolved with excellent service from Island Escapes.
Enjoyed our stay at Thie Loutey a lovely little cottage although I would say the spiral staircase would make it difficult for anyone with any mobility problems as it's very narrow. Bedroom was lovely with plenty of room. Kitchen living room are small but well equipped, breakfast essentials had been left for us which was very much appreciated and a lovely gesture (bread milk butter cheese)there was also coffee tea etc in the cupboard. Bathroom was nice although I did find the shower a bit difficult to turn on/off but maybe just needs more use. Towels linen and hand soap supplied only thing ...more
