Townhead is a beautiful rural retreat perfect for a few days relaxing and visiting the local border towns. They have thought of everything for your stay, including a few essential items on arrival ie. Bread, milk etc and are happy to help if you need anything. On approach there’s a long farm track which is clearly stated on the website, and having stayed at Townhead twice it is a very minor thing. Not only one of the most wonderful stays in Scotland but one of the most wonderful experiences of our lives! How often do you get to stay AT a castle? One that is so authentic, with so much history and run by staff that is absolutely second to none. We can’t say enough good things about this place, the comfort, the location. just returned from a short break at Barns Library on the Neithpath/Bans estate. The cottage had everything we needed and more, a lovely touch of food items to get us started. The cottage was cozy, comfortable and very clean. the booking procedure and subsequent correspondence from the Neidpath Estate office was excellent. Just 10 mins drive out of Peebles was Ideal and Had the weather been different it would have been a nice but somewhat longer walk(50 mins). We will definitely be returning in the future to either the Library or try out one of the other properties on the estate.
Was an experience. Great I must say with one exception the stairs but as we are over 70 expected. The whole experience was brilliant everything was there to enjoy full kitchen to good shower and excellent wifi a must these days overall a brilliant place
