Stayed here for a few nights with my family of 5, we booked it for a surprise 60th for my dad and had a pleasant stay. I chose this place again having stayed in one of the little huts for 2 with my partner. The space was spacious, clean and comfortable. I would recommend for any families to stay, even in the colder months the rooms are warm and cosy with lovely walks and pubs nearby.
We have stayed at Hermanus a few times now and have never been disappointed. We have two disabled children and the accommodation was clean and well laid out and site is perfect for their needs. The pool although very cold is fantastic and the small park next to it is perfect. The only suggestion I have is perhaps you could offer WiFi in the accommodation as an added extra option. We would definitely stay again in the future.
The roundhouse, or "Hobbit Hole" as my wife affectionately called them, was spotlessly clean. It had a fantastic aspect allowing us to have the bedroom window open and hear the sound of the waves. The view is simply to die for, so the aspect of these roundhouses is very well thought out. The kitchen is small, but perfectly adequate for two people. There was sufficient storage space in the bedroom. I booked x2 deluxe single roundhouses, at very short notice (the week before). Myself and two of my dogs in one, and my dad and my other two Dachshunds in another. With it being Easter we were both left an Easter egg upon arrival, a lovely touch I thought. We had travelled down from Cheshire, to walk, and take the dogs on the beach. Been visiting Hermanus for a few years - always an enjoyable and comfortable stay. Winterton is delightful. Great short break.
This is our third stay at Hermanus and we absolutely love it! Cedars is really quirky bring a roundhouse, spotlessly clean and well equipped. The location couldn’t be better, easy access to the dunes and beautiful walks on the beach, pub, shop and cafe a 5 minute walk away. Can’t wait until our next stay!
Back for 3rd time at October half term. Chalet good and comfortable. Love the out look with green space for kids to play.
Ours is a special family weekend usually the second weekend in October! Our family is now 42 members plus those who have dogs are welcome too - all split in Hermanus ‘homes’! We play games on the green enjoy a meal in the restaurant on Saturday night for prize giving! On Sunday morning games on the beach and there is always Sunday lunch at the restaurant!
We recently stayed in one of the pet friendly round houses for a week's break. Can't recommend this place enough and have been here a number of times. The accommodation is perfectly placed for beach and dune walking. If you have your dogs with you, the beach is open to them all year round and every pub we went into for food welcomed the dogs too. If in doubt take the plunge, it's a beautiful place with lovely accommodation.
We had an excellent stay as always great location friendly staff and locals to have a chat we don't use the car as we prefer walking to places and had two lovely walks one to Caister and a coastal walk the weather was nice we saw a herd of red deer and a short eared owl whilst walking along the dunes.
Wow!! What a perfect site!! Our roundhouse was stunning! Throughly clean and even left an Easter egg for us! It was the sweetest!! We could not believe the amazing view we had!! Just the perfect weekend! Staff were amazing!
The renovation has been done really well, the bathroom and kitchen are great! The central heating is also fab. I love the beds here, very comfortable and firm. A freezer is also available for all your frozen foods. Great service as always, very helpful and let us stay on an extra hour because they weren’t busy…. Love this site!
Charming little roundhouse, extremely well equipped, fantastic location and sits just above the sand dunes. Really could nt have hoped for anything nicer!
My only negative is having to climb over each other to get in and out of the double bed as one side is against the wall and there is no room at the bottom. My mobility is very poor so it was very awkward. It was a lovely touch to get an Easter egg.
First time for us to stay in October, just as enjoyable as our August visits. The weather was good to us not as cold or wet as we were expecting. Easy access across the dunes to the beach. Short walk along the beach to see the Seals. Stayed in "Breezes" bungalow, kitchen well equipped. All staff friendly and helpful as always, we will return it's such a relaxing place,
We had an excellent stay here over the 3 days, it was amazing value for money considering it was a bank holiday. The roundhouse is in a great location with lots to do just a short drive away or the beach and dunes a short walk away too.
The accommodation at Hermanus has been upgraded to a great standard. As ever the location is spot on and perfect for dogs! Always warm and cosy and well equipped. The only disappointment is no WiFi so the smart tv can not be used to it fullest and you are using your 5G on phones. Also no bar or clubhouse open when we stayed, so would expect a much cheaper rate to reflect this. A great place to stay for peace & quiiet though.
Me and partner have a fantastic weekend the place was excellent very clean with everything you need. I would recommend to anyone.
I have visited Hermanus for the last 10 years or more The houses are a delight, clean and always warm I bring the dog and we are straight on to the dune valley and 3 minutes from the beach Winterton is a small picturesque village but only 8 miles from Great Yarmouth and near Norwich
Thanks for another lovely stay. We normally stay in a Round house but wanted to try a bungalow this time, and we wasn't disappointed, Hopefully the bar will be open on our next visit and we can sample the food again. Thanks Mark , Claire, & Rocky dog.
We first came to Hermanus Holidays in 1978 and visited many times as a family over the years. In the earlier years there was evening entertainment The past 7 years it has been my daughter and my dog, first 4 years in a roundhouse but changed to chalet 51 as it has 2 bedrooms. It is nice and relaxing and the Highwayman serves great food too. If you want a variation there is Fishermans Returna pub in the village and a good fish and chip shop. Great walks on the dunes with the dog and there is a outdoor heated pool which was still open on the second week in September
A very pleasant stay in a very nice place,the only problem we had was there was no television reception all week, apparently due to atmospheric conditions,
We had a fantastic time staying here . Lovely inside clean and welcoming, and a nice touch with Easter Eggs. We will be booking again thank you . Will be telling friends about it too .
Was looking for a peaceful getaway over Christmas and that’s exactly what I found perfectly located just step out of door onto the dunes with beautiful winter skylines and the added bonus of very cute seal pup
Everything was good from checking in from checking out. Location was excellent for the village and beach. Bed was comfortable, it was nice and warm in the property and plenty of room. Would definitely book again.
We booked to go to Hermanus in June but unfortunately my wife broke her hip. Hermanus kindly let us take the booking later in the year, when she recovered. It was a lovely relaxing holiday and we could take our dog. Staff are always ready to help.
As always a very enjoyable stay. We normally book the round houses but this was a very last minute booking, the inside of the bungalow was lovely, very spacious and comfortable, how ever it smelt very fusty and damp, but it is in a very shady position, the outside needs a good clean.
We are regulars. We love bringing our GSD + to stay. The beach is very close. Properties are clean.....................................................
40 years and still relatively unspoilt, family friendly feel. Accommodation is clean and well maintained. Staff are friendly and food was great value … see you next year!!
My two daughters, two friends and two dogs wanted to have an autumn break having enjoyed a summer break earlier at Hermanus. They had chosen the actual chalet and dates, I booked it, and my wife and I were the taxis, both there and back. They all report a great time, with the actual chalet being spacious, very clean, and having all that was needed to make their stay comfortable. Despite the mixed weather which went from warm clear days to exceptionally heavy rain and wind, they made the most of all seven days. A very comfortable stay at Hermanus. Lovely chalet with every we needed for the long weekend. Very friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic location in the beautiful coastal village of Winterton on Sea. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again.
Been here around ten times in the last 8 years and once again enjoyed every minute. Will definitely be booking up again next year.
The tap.on the shower was very difficult to move on any direction , think it needs some upgrading or maintenance at least

Since we couldn't come in july we where very happy to come round in october. We where happy with the house and the accommodation. So we will be back.
What a wonderful relaxing location for a half term break. Comfortable accommodation, friendly staff and incredible food at The Highwayman.
Dirty, damp, cracks in ceiling, cobwebs, spider nests, paper peeling off walls, cutlery filthy. Had to clean and hoover before staying as office had closed before we found just how bad the property was. First time we have ever stayed in this property in all these years, usually stay in a round house, but with the state of this property and the prices now charged we will not be back.
