Stayed with friends for our annual girls trip. Good size accommodation, nice garden area at the back to sit out and relax.Great location for beach walks.Lovely coffee shop on the cliff
Been visiting Hermanus for decades now, and it always delivers a great time. The location is, in my opinion, the best spot on the east coast. The roundhouses are incredible with sea views from the bedroom window. Seriously can't wait to get back there later this year.
Fully equipped property excellent but we did find the settee and armchairs slightly uncomfortable. The location is excellent situated above the sand dunes with sea view. The dunes are across the car park and fantastic for dog walking.
The house is very comfortable with good amenities. The location is perfect. In the freezer compartment we found an old packet of peas, starting to defrost, which does need to be cleaned but apart from that everything else was very good. We had a lovely few days. Also the Sunday carvery was excellent.
We stayed as a family of 5 and there was amble space! Rooms were all very clean and had been nicely updated. The garden was also lovely just didn’t use it at this time of year. Great location right next to the beach! We also had dinner at the restaurant which was great, a big selection and reasonably priced.
Perfect base for beach and village, comfy, clean and well appointed cottage Friendly helpful staff.
Been here many times , we decided to celebrate our 40 th wedding anniversary here as we did for our 25 th , and managed to stay in the same roundhouse as our 25 th so made more special, food and accommodation is superb, would recommend to anyone as the scenery is beautiful, one of our favourite places , definitely return .
Have enjoyed every stay at Hermanus. Location is perfect and the restaurant is good. It’s perfect for a short break but would have loved to stay longer!
We've stayed in Hermanus single roundhouses several times and love the location. A short stroll over the dunes to the beach. Also enjoy a glass of wine on the picnic tables outside and enjoy the views and peace and quiet before dinner. Restaurant on site serves good food and its also a 2 minute walk to the Fisherman's Return pub if you want a change of scenery. To be honest I think the food at Hermanus is better. The cottages are well equipped (I think!) I have a golden rule never to cook on holiday! The decor is a little dated, but that doesn't matter in the whole scheme of things...more
A great place to stay right next to the beach & 15min drive from the amazing seal colony. Bungalows are comfortable & well appointed.
We have just returned from our holiday at the roundhouse, we stayed I'm single roundhouse. It was lovely well placed. Clean, well equipped. We will definitely be returning again. The staff where friendly and welcoming. Our only gripe was the bedroom curtains needs a lining they was to light. The room was to bright at 4am. The sight could do with a some updating and a bit of evening entertainment. And bit more for kiddies to play on, re open the amusements. Maybe a canopy over the swimming pool so it's bit warmer in the winter.
We love Hermanus, location is beautiful, feel totally recharged after a weekend break there.very peaceful, been going there for the last 22 years, never get tired of going there
The roundhouse was well equipped with everything we needed. Fantastic views from the roundhouse bedroom across the dunes to the sea. The pool area was lovely. We ate in the restaurant both nights as the food was really good. All the staff were polite and friendly. Car parking was really convenient. Overall the place was very clean-the only negatives were a stain down the front of the sofa and onto the carpet (possibly sun cream) and when the shower was on number 3 it kept randomly turning the temperature up high even when the temperature dial was set to cool. However neither of these ...more
Really enjoyed our 2 night stay in this double Roundhouse. Lovely quiet location, slept really well! Nice to be able to park off road right next to the accommodation. Boys lovely the pool for an early morning dip!
It was Monty the beagle’s first time in Winterton having been before with other dog . As always very clean and tidy , fantastic location and luckily fantastic weather and surprisingly quiet, excellent time , thanks
Good location and the swimming pool was excellent and warm. The main problem was getting down to the beach, which following the erosion of the sand dunes has become increasingly difficult. They have made a walk through but it’s over a sandy walk way and is very difficult
We have just returned from a 12 night stay at the Hermanus Holiday Park in the beautiful village of Winterton on Sea. This is our 13th visit and certainly won’t be our last. This peaceful park is set in the most wonderful location, minutes away from the dunes and beach. It’s the perfect location for dog owners, though you don’t have to have a dog to appreciate the lovely walks on your doorstep. The accommodation was spotless (I am very fussy) and perfect for our stay. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great location to explore the Norfolk coastline or for those who are happy jus...more
Lovely place to stay for a few days with amazing views, so easy to get to the beach. Roundhouses have all you need in them. We found the bedroom and bed rather small but was fine for a short stay.
We’ve stayed with Hermanus several times, we love the location and the Round Houses. Lots of lovely walks, the bar staff are great with a good selection of food and drink. Will be defiantly going back. Just a note for maintenance the TV in the bedroom turns on and off by its self, and the shower head holder won’t hold still. Picky but loved our stay thanks
Everything was top drawer! Great roundhouse, clean, very friendly team, amazing location, great bar and restaurant on site. Couldn’t be happier. Thank you
Cleanliness:- Inside was lovely certainly no problems there but outside steps and table were covered with birds excrement. Access:- The lower steps from the road could do with a handrail as they are quite steep and if you have mobility problems they can be a problem. Power:- We did have a power cut on Wednesday night for a short time and also lost hot water to the shower that evening. But we did enjoy our stay and would do it again.
We do love Hermanus and have stayed in a variety of their properties but feel the lighthouse chalets really need updating & upgrading for the cost. I have spoke with management before re the damp and mould issues but this time it was quite overwhelming. The odour of damp was very strong and very visible in the bathroom and hallway. I don’t think we would use the chalets again, bungalows yes but not the chalets. The cost is quite high for such a basic accommodation and you can usually get a cottage in the village for a similar price. We love the views and the swimming pool but the whole ...more
Close to the beach, plenty of nice walks lovely pub in the village all very friendly at a lovely Sunday carvery on site
The chalet had everything you needed for a weeks stay but I was disappointed that the standard Wi Fi was weak. There was an option to upgrade for a fee but these days companies do provide a proper wW-Fi included in the price.
We have had an another great week at Hermanus after a few years of not visiting. A lovely quiet place to holiday with a great bar, restaurant and outdoor pool. The bungalows have been revamped since our last visit and are modern and comfortable. Would not hesitate to visit again and the weather really did make it a memorable stay. The site is close to the beach and the village amenities with a short car journey to the surrounding resorts and attractions. A great place to stay for all 2 and 4 legged guests.
We have stayed at Hermanus for many years and have always been very pleased with our holiday experience. The accommodation, staff and location were, as always, excellent and even the weather held it'sown this week. Already reserved for next year..
Great location in Winterton on Sea, small coastal village with pub, coffee shop and Hermanus bar and restaurant on site. Hermanus site is set backing onto the dunes, where there were plenty of walking opportunities which our dog loved, plus a beach that the dog could go on. Lovely beach side facilities- food, coffee and cake cabin. The accommodation was excellent and we will definitely visit again, we had the dog friendly double roundhouse. It had everything you needed and was modern and clean. The only negative was that the bathroom sink and shower was slow to drain, and there was a ...more
Love the place, great chalet with loads of room, had my 60th party, buffet was amazing and great friendly team.
Due to having to change our original holiday dates, the only 6 berth bungalow available was a pet friendly one, which we had not stayed in before. On arrival it was evident that pets had stayed there. There was a certain aroma and we noticed stains on the bottom of the curtains in the lounge. Fortunately I had some Febreeze spray with me, which we applied to the curtains, which did improve the situation. There was also a stain on one of the sofa cushions, but we were able to turn it over. The bungalow was at the very bottom of the hill/grass area, so we had further to walk to the pool and...more
The chalet was very clean & comfortable and perfectly situated for walking the dog. The food in the family restaurant was excellent, the best we had during our holiday. Very dog friendly site, nice to be able to take them in to the restaurant as well. The staff were very friendly & helpful. Parking was right outside the chalet. Really enjoyed our stay.
Absolutely wonderful stay. The accommodation was first class. Bright, clean and very comfortable. Would highly recommend. The only addition we would have liked was a soft broom to sweep the sand rather than having to get the heavy hoover out and some hooks for our towels/bath robes on the back of the doors. Excellent location. Very well cared for site. We will definitely be back.
We had a brilliant break in number 72, a chalet I've not stayed in before, it was clean, comfortable and has a lovely big lawn to the front and great views. I've been coming to Hermanus for a long time and seen how they have updated chalets and kept everything feeling nice. The pool is an added bonus, its a great asset to the holiday park.
Thank you for hosting a fab 60th Birthday for my sister in a lovely resort. Amazing views and beautifully kept accommodation.
From the moment we arrived at reception, we knew we had picked a great place to stay. The reception staff were friendly and welcoming, making sure we had all the information we needed and checking whether we had stayed before. When we arrived at the bungalow, we were delighted to find it was in a lovely sunny spot with parking for both of our cars. We were given both a front and back door key, which was really convenient as it meant we could come and go independently. The large front doors let in plenty of fresh air, and the lounge was comfortable, with two sofas, a wall-mounted TV, and add...more
Charming place, well kept, pleasant views. I return to this place because l always receive the usual friendly service and it's a nice, dog friendly, location.
Arrived during the heatwave. Upstairs was very hot as blinds and curtains had been left open and we arrived late afternoon. There were no fans. Both toilets were downstairs and all 3 bedrooms upstairs, an issue for me in particular. No hairdryer or bedside lamps. Otherwise agreeably impressed with very high standard of cleanliness and furnishings. Pool heated?? I don’t think so
We enjoyed our stay there although it was very short. Very nice location. Calm. We met the neighbours and spent a lovely afternoon with them. I think the house was not habited for a while because there were a lot of spiders. We stayed with you for a ceremony, not for a holiday. Thanks.
