We had the most relaxing stay at Coorie Braw, so many Lovey touches, Rae and Justin have thought about everything, beds very super comfortable and the place was spotless!! Would highly recommend this place, we will definitely be returning.
A clean and welcoming cottage in a handy location for either the ferry or for exploring the area. A charming and welcoming hostess made our stay even better. And yes, there really are frequent visitors to the garden in the form of red squirrels and deer!
A luxurious accommodation where all your needs were provided, a home from home, even our dog was catered for with provision of a towel, mat, bowls and treats! Thank you for welcome pack of milk, bottled water and shortbread which was delicious. Beds comfortable, accommodation was presented to a high standard A beautiful area to explore the west coast., you will not be disappointed.
My stay at Fyne Rooms was perfect, comfortable, clean, stylish rooms in a great location in the centre of Tighnabruaich village. Could not ask for more, we will be back!
Stayed the week here with family and friends, couldn't have enjoyed our stay any more. The location and stunning views were just beautiful. All the facilities in the house were faultless. We will deffo recommend in the future :)
The best things about the room was the very large shower, large bed and the biscuits! It was quiet and peaceful.
Lovely lodge in a great location. Clean, comfortable, peaceful with great views, would definitely recommend
What a beautiful wee cottage to stay, very welcoming and homely, very modern kitchen and bathroom with a fantastic shower. A thoughtful welcoming pack on arrival which helped us feel at home. Location is ideal for sight seeing, wildlife spotting and an array of walks close by. A wee stroll to the Creggans for dining and drinks. There a friendly well stocked wee shop 2 mins walk at the Bay Cottage Tea Room. We will certainly be back again.
Peter and Louisa are amazing. I cannot praise this place enough. So pet friendly. Walks from the door, so much wildlife and your completely left alone and in peace. Did I mention your own totally private beach? And so close to all the places we love. I’ve been coming to this area since I was very little and I’m now 40! It’s just a pure joy at any time of year. If you want to be surrounded by nature and regain your senses and strength away from the world this is the place for you.
Kenmore is a spacious , well equipped house with spectacular views of Loch Fyne. The seating on the decking area at the front of the house is perfect for an early morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening to watch the spectacular sunsets. A short walk to the Creggans hotel and restaurant. The owners live next door and are welcoming and helpful. Highly recommended ..
Our week at Heronlea was cold for early September and we were very pleased to have easy to operate heating. The owners are next door if you need them. The added bonus for this property was the deer visiting the large garden.
Once again a great stay. Thankyou so much for enabling this. It is such an elderly friendly property and I know my parents both loved it. Despite biblical levels of rain on one day, we got out and about. Even in winter there is lots of places to go and NO midges! We also enjoyed watching the RNLI jetty wobbling madly in the waves. Hoping to return in the early summer (someone has to feed those midges) though, sadly, this will be without mum and dad.
We absolutely loved our stay here from the warm welcome, the comfortable room, lovely meal in the restaurant downstairs and ease of check in/check out. The room had everything we needed and more - the complimentary mini bar/fridge was a real bonus and everything was fresh, spotlessly clean and well maintained.
Excellent house, which was used as a base to explore the area. We had very good weather more or less when we were there (mid-May 23 for a week), which helps. Not many midges about! The house was clean and comfortable with large kitchen area and dining area with two of all major white goods (two ovens, fridges, microwaves etc.). Red squirrel watched us each breakfast most mornings. Three (very) large bedrooms upstairs with en-suites, which we used (we were a party of three couples). One bedroom downstairs with separate bathroom and I believe the house can accommodate up to ten. The v...more
The accommodation was well equipped and situated in an excellent location. Below the apartment is a small supermarket that sells all the essentials plus local produce. Next door is The Osborne Hotel, beautiful food would highly recommend especially Sunday Roast (must book in advance if you want to get a space). 2 minute walk to the Royal Bar which also sells food and food to take away! Not far to Dunoon town centre or Toward LightHouse in the other direction, and beautiful walks and beaches on your doorstep. I’d just advise taking Smidge or buying some in the wee shop below the apartment i...more
Gorgeous house with everything you could possibly need. Great for kids/grandparents due to the downstairs bedroom and bathroom. Lovely views and fantastic outdoor space.
Wayside Cottage is a lovely, well-equipped cottage that is also ideally situated near Dunoon centre and local pubs/ restaurants. The views from the bedrooms are just stunning, especially at dawn with the beautiful sunrise. The lounge has two large comfy sofas and is a great space to enjoy in the evenings. The owners added some local produce which was a nice surprise on arrival. The property was perfectly clean which we also really appreciated. Thank you
This property is fantastic. We are regular users and always find it clean and welcoming. The host is so friendly we almost feel like we know him but we have never met. The location is second to none if you're visiting family or looking for a base while you go exploring the west coast of Scotland.
We had a great stay at Sedna. The house was warm, comfortable and had everything we needed. The location was beautiful and was handy for shops, leisure facilities and stunning landscapes and beaches.
A stunning cottage with an amazing view, (apart from the very fast road outside). Great base to explore the peninsula, very comfortable house and beds. Host was brilliant and really friendly, very attentive but not at all in your face. Only thing that we could think of to improve would be to double the amount of cutlery as if you are a group of 5 and eating all meals at the cottage, it means washing the cutlery up after every meal. Not difficult, just a second set would make it easier! Would highly recommend though.
We spent the most peaceful 5 days here. Best equipped kitchen we have ever experienced in a number of years of self catering accommodation. Loved the setting. We would love to return. Thank you ☺️
Great stay, thankyou for fab accommodation! We really enjoyed our visit. We will be back soon!!!!!!!!
My sister and I stayed at Seal Point Cabin las week. We had chosen to stay around Loch Fyne to revisit places we had stayed on holiday as children 40 years ago. The location was just PERFECTION! Idyllic and peaceful and beyond our expectations. Louisa's hospitality when we arrived was incredibly warm and friendly. She gave us a rundown of things inside the cabin/how everything worked etc and had provided recommendations on places to eat nearby. The cabin itself was so cute and cosy. We really looked forward to coming back to it each night after a day of exploring. All the home comforts...more
The photos don’t do justice to the property. The views are simply stunning and the property so much bigger than we thought. Very well equipped and very clean. We loved our stay here
We had a wonderful few nights here. The view and location are magnificent! The owners have done a brilliant job. The apartment just felt like home from home and so comfortable. I must congratulate them on buying such a comfortable mattress in the front bedroom. So many rental properties are let down by poor quality mattresses and I think it’s such an important part of a holiday break. It made a real difference and I came away feeling totally rested. Thank you. One thing you could do with is a separate chopping board for onions and garlic as I don’t like to use the wooden boards as it leaves ...more
When we arrived our whole family was impressed by the cleanliness and spec of the flat. From the lounge furniture, to the beds, towels, shower, bathroom, crockery, plates and everything in between we couldn’t have found better or fault anything in the flat. Everything in the flat felt brand new so we could see and apple the owners had done everything in their power to make this flat so comfortable, clean, accessible and enjoyable for us their guests. The only downside to the property - which we feel may just be out of the flat owners control - was the close entrance hallway. The front door ...more
Our stay at Blairlagan Lodge this year again was very enjoyable, the lodge was clean and comfortable and all our needs catered for. Liz left lots of little extras which was so kind and much appreciated. I would return and have no hesitation on recommending too others.
Very smart accommodation with an excellent view over Loch Fyne. Strachur is a good location to explore the Cowal Peninsula, and there are lots of places to visit in easy driving distance. We especially enjoyed Benmore Botanical Garden, Puck's Glen, Bute, and Crarea Garden.
Had a lovely time here. Enjoyed doing a few paintings and exploring the gorgeous area. Apartment is comfortable, clean and welcoming. Peaceful and rejuvenating. Would definitely book again.
A delightful cottage in the ideal location for exploring the area. We were very comfortable and had a lovely week.
A house with stunning views, well equipped kitchen, cozy towels, good linen and fun games. EV charger was an advantage. We didn’t have the sun but it would be even more special in the summer. Well located and you can walk to Kames Hotel in a few minutes. We will would recommend
Harris Lodge is in a great location with views over the lock. Spacious, clean and very comfy. We had a fantastic holiday
A beautiful house excellently equipped. It is filled with warmth and an attention to detail and need.
We had a lovely stay at Gate cottage. Well equipped with everything you need. We just loved it. What a beautiful part of Scotland to stay. We managed to see seals on the water not far from the cottage a and loved watching the small boats sailing near by. Would love to go back
My family have stayed here quite a few times over the years. We love this house and its beautiful and peaceful location. It has everything we needed for a comfortable holiday - no matter what the weather is like.
In a great location, very convenient for all that the area has to offer.and on a quiet street. The flat is very well equipped with comfortable seating, good storage in the bedrooms and very comfortable beds. The owner was very responsive to our queries.
We had a lovely stay at Janeville, which is in a perfect location in Ardrishaig with beautiful views of the sea. The accommodation is really comfortable and cosy, and well equipped. There is lots to see in the surrounding area, and we look forward to visiting again.
My family and I stayed within the cottage and I can confirm that we had a lovely stay. The accomodation was clean and well equipped. Ii is within walking distance to town centre and shops. I would recommend this cottage to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Dunoon.
The house was perfect for us. Spacious and comfortable and fabulous views and location. The whole area is beautiful. There are good local shops and cafes/restaurants within walking distance. Lovely local walks. Pebbly beach nearby. The Portavadie Spa was also great hit - indoor and outdoor pools, gym, hot tubs and lovely restaurant. The hob was malfunctioning on first night - but the owner organised an emergency replacement until an electrician could repair it. Great response on a Saturday night.
A very well equipped, roomy and comfortable cottage in a good location. We would definitely stay here again.
Lovely place to stay. Well-equipped and comfortable. Great location and perfect for walking. Many thanks
This is a lovely flat and with some small changes could be perfect. The living room, kitchen, master bedrooms were beautiful. There were a few issues though in contrast: 1. Smaller double bedroom I was not convinced the sheets were freshly laundered. I washed all bedding the next day relieved it was a dry day. 2. No crisp 100% cotton bedding instead bobbled, cheap. Give your guests hotel standard. Believe me it’s noticed. 3. We had to rush out to buy loo roll. 1 roll for a family of 4 was not sufficient. 4. The sofas definitely need more cushions for comfort. 5. Would have been n...more
Lovely well appointed apartment. Great walking from the front door - minutes from the Crinan Canal. Lovely shops nearby. Amazing views from the flat.
Ard Darach is a fantastic holiday lodge, the owners are great to deal with and our stay was perfect. The huge living room window gave us hours of fun watching the birds and Red Squirrels feed and play all day. The lodge is well laid out, comfortable and spotless. It feels more like a home than a holiday let. The site is quiet, feels secluded, but is a quick drive to the shops. We will go back, for sure. Our dog loved the stay as well.
Beautiful lodge,,everything you need is there', layout of lodge great, views stunning ,had great time again,.Will be back .
We gathered as a family of 6 adults and a dog for a week in August. The house was lovely. Fitted us all in comfortably, was very clean and generally had everything we needed. Location was good - lochgilphead 10 minutes drive for any food shopping - good size co op and very good fish at the Smokehouse, nice cheese at Marmalade Deli, a butcher....( having a bike would have been very useful!) and plenty of interesting places to walk / see within a short distance. Kilmartin Glen was great. Walking from the door was easy and varied from strolling along the towpath to the more strenuous round walk t...more
We loved our stay, the accommodation was perfect and it was great to have so much space! The games room and log fires were well used, as was the beach which was great for swimming, snorkelling, paddle boarding and kayaking. The kitchen had everything we needed and the seating area off it was a stunning place to take in the views. Also great to have board games and books to dip into. The local shop was good for extra supplies, and would highly recommend Kames Hotel for a meal out.
Arthur’s Seat gave us everything we wanted! Yes, the steps up are steep but adds to the charm of the cottage and rewarded with the most spectacular view when you reach the cottage. Perfect for 2 and great location. Cottage has everything you need for a comfortable home from home stay. Communication with the owners was easy and friendly. We fell in love with the area and the added bonus of how friendly the people are. Looking to return later in the year and eventually move permanently! We’re looking to move to Kintyre but South Cowal has completely won us over. Turns out my mother went to schoo...more
Nursery cottage was a beautiful house, in a beautiful location. When myself, my step daughter and our two dogs arrived, I had texts from the owner welcoming us and offering assistance if needed, which was lovely. there were lots of instructions and reminders around the place to help familiarise you. Not feeling the cold that much we tried to control the heating as instructed by the thermostatas it was like a sauna! But it continued to go up to 32° which was way too hot for us! No matter what we did it was way too hot. Every time we turned it right down, it crept back up again. We had to open...more
Spent 4 nights at Pier Cottage, Kames. Although small, it had everything that we required and was ideal for our needs. The location is second to none. The owner Eileen was on hand for any advice and quickly sorted any minor issues. Thoroughly recommend a visit.
Superb, well equipped and comfortable cottage in the most magical setting. We were blessed with wonderful weather, but with the Crinan Canal at your front door any weather front would have been a delight. With Tayvallich, Crinan, Skipness and Kilberry Sands within striking distance there’s no shortage of places to visit and great places to eat.
Brilliant flat in Kames, walking distance to a shop and a pub. Right next to the sea, overlooking the island of Bute. Quiet peaceful place to watch the world go by. Lovely walks from the accommodation.
Hi dish washer broken No keys for gun safe No toiletries in bath rooms Very little loo roll and told to buy our own No dishwasher tablets or washing machine powder Logs poor quality and not many Just little things let it down
During our recent stay at Birch Cottage in Stronchullin Holiday Cottages, we had a truly remarkable experience. The location of the cottage in Blairmore near Dunoon was perfect for our 6-night getaway with my wife, mother-in-law, father-in-law, and better still we could bring the dog! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the exceptional presentation and cleanliness of the cottage. It had a modern and stylish design with all the modern conveniences we could ask for. The fully fitted kitchen made cooking a breeze, however with the local seafood restaurants on offer, we didn't use ...more
Cosy, comfy little cottage on edge of Inverary, with great views across Loch Fyne. It was clean, well-equipped and had nice welcoming touches of shortbread, wine and some coffee pods too. Would have to recommend ear plugs if sleeping in the front bedroom as the main road passes infront of the cottage, but the lovely views in the morning more than make up for it! Our only criticism would be that the parking area at the back is not very well described on the arrival instructions (and it differs from the information in the folder in the house), so we may have unwittingly parked in a neighbour's ...more
Beautiful cottage, would stay again in a heartbeat. Lovely forest setting and dog friendly. Clean and comfy
This was our second stay at Hunter’s Quay but first stay at Amber Lodge. We weren’t disappointed and the lodge was in an even better location than the previous year. So quiet and peaceful with modern interior which was spotlessly clean upon arrival. The views are stunning too as you can look out across the loch. The communication prior to our stay was detailed and informative. There are steps leading up to the lodge so this needs to be considered when booking as whilst access for us wasn’t a problem, this could be a challenge for some. An excellent stay and you won’t be disappointe...more
This flat is the perfect location for us, all my family is within walking distance and so is town and the beach for walks. Also dog friendly which we need. This is the second time we have stayed here and hope to stay again next October. It has everything you need to enjoy a lovely break in Dunoon.
Cottage in fabulous location at edge of forest with access to many walks Lovely garden with various seating areas and barbecue Perfect for our dog Cottage very cosy with wood burning stove. Maybe cramped for 4 adults but as a couple was fine
However, we went for work there, we enjoyed every moment during our stay. The property is a home when we are away from home. The house is well equipped with everything you might need during your stay.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Sebright Holiday Apartment despite some very inclement weather for August! The ground floor apartment was very spacious with lovely sea views and an excellent location for touring. I enjoyed the outdoor seating area at the front of the property & I was really pleased that we got to check in slightly earlier than 4pm as we'd arrived in Dunoon ahead of schedule. The kitchen has everything you'd need as I did a lot of cooking. I'm looking forward to going back next June all being well. Thanks & all the best to Sebright Apartment & Argyll Self Catering Holidays...more
We spent six nights in the Dunbheag Cottage. It was so cosy inside, with everything you could possibly need for a home from home stay. The outdoor seating area on the decking was perfect for relaxing and al fresco dining which we did a lot of! It was super to have access to a section of private beach with a beach hut where we had several picnics! Our dog was made to feel very welcome and had a great time too. Our hosts were fantastic and gave us a lovely warm welcome of chocolates and prosecco. They were on hand for any queries. It was a truly lovely stay and we hope to be back one day. The St...more
Just returned from a relaxing break at this beautiful lodge. Decorated to a high standard and immaculately clean. Would definitely recommend and hopefully we will be back.
Excellent accommodation, the photos don’t do it justice. It’s very comfortable and spacious. The bed was very comfortable and good quality linen. With a beautiful view of the loch from the main bedroom. Kitchen is well equipped. The area is so peaceful and location is amazing! I would book again and again!!
The flat is very spacious, nicely decorated and clean. Kitchen is well-equipped, plus has amazing sea views over the Firth of Clyde and the ferry terminal, fascinating to watch. The milk, shortbread, fudge and coffee pods are a nice touch which made us feel welcome. The owner did his utmost to ensure we had everything we needed, and was very responsive. Car parking is fine, despite a notice in the nearby car park saying ‘no overnight parking’, it is possible to park overnight. It is in a very convenient location, with lots of attractions in nearby Dunoon and around. Overall, a wonderful base f...more
A lovely log cabin in a lovely setting . My thoughts are that it would suit two adults comfortably. We were 3 adults and for example the settee easily seated 2 . With 3 it was too close together , for us anyway . We found all the notices of ‘don’t do this or that ‘ a bit unwelcoming and we have stayed in log cabins many times before . And in fact left Iona cabin to go to one on the Ardnamurchan! It was fine for 3 days and we enjoyed our stay as we are nature lovers and photographers!
The cottage is attached to the main house is the most stunning grounds with beautiful views of loch Fyne. It is very well equipped with a fabulous kitchen. The website did say there was a tumble dryer and fridge with ice. There is no longer a tumble dryer anda big freezer and new fridge is in place. The 3 bedrooms are pretty and a good size and the beds are so comfy it’s hard to get out of them. Plenty drawer space but lack of wardrobe and hangers. The living room is a mixture of furniture and quite dark - could do with a bit of a makeover. Lovey big bath and good shower with Plenty boiling h...more
Visited Dunoon and bay cottage with my dog and this was the perfect base for the week and exactly as described. Easy walk to front or into town.
The cottage was fine. Comfy, clean and well located. Track a bit bumpy but we were warned about this. We had beautiful weather which made all the difference to our experience.
We had a lovely 5 nights at Teal Cottage. Very well appointed and the bed and bedding was excellent. It was lovely to sit on the bench in the front garden in the sun (yes we had a few very sunny days), enjoying our coffee and the views. The kitchen had everything that we needed. The sitting/dining area was much larger than the photographs show and filled with natural light. I particularly loved the large seat/small sofa for reading in. The only reason that I gave a 4 for location is that it was a drive to off lead walking (for the dog) apart from the loch when the tide was out. That was great ...more
A lovely cottage set in a stunning location. Very clean and had everything we needed. It’s situated in a stunning setting and was just what we were looking for for a weeks break .
Comfortable 3 bedroom flat, on the coast above an Indian Restaurant. The pub next door serves good meals although not every night. No off street parking but the pub don’t seem to mind you using there car park if you eat or drink there. All in all well equipped.
Staying at the lodge was really good. Lots of space and lots of opportunities to enjoy the view! Thank you.
Shelduck is ideal for a large family or for two families wanting a lovely place to stay with lots of room. Facilities are good. The owner lives nearby and is very helpful. There is a garden which, unfortunately, is not secure for an inquisitive dog.
This will be our 20ish holiday at Otter Ferry and stayed in a few lodges over the years but first time at Cockleshell. This is another super lodge on the shoreline which is great for wild swimming and dogs just love the walks around the estate. Thanks Tristan, will be back later in the year.
We had a lovely stay in this cosy cottage right on Loch Fyne. It is a beautiful property and the host is lovely and helped with any questions promptly. Our two year-old very much enjoyed the playroom in the property. The views on Loch Fyne are stunning and there is lots to explore in this part of Scotland.
The house is spacious, comfortable and everything you could possibly need is provided. The owner was also very helpful in helping us figure out the hot tub. Thank you!
We really enjoyed our stay it was a lovely cottage and a fantastic view. It was in many ways the nicest cottage we've stayed in being romy with good furniture and very comfortable beds. Would have liked more information such as how the wood fire heated the radiators, that the only access was via single track roads . The fire lighter was empty but we had matches, the kindling was insufficient but there were plenty of logs. The only significant issue was the sliding door which was very stiff, my was unable to open or close it. If the weather had been warmer this could have been an issue. W...more
Beautiful apartment in fantastic location, could have sat at the bay window all day watching the coming and goings of all boats & ships going by, kitchen had everything you would need with comfy beds and two bathrooms a bonus, wouldn't hesitate to recommend and book again
A wonderfully comfortable and luxurious house in a stunning location. Lots to do in the local area. Highly recommended!
We found Alder Cottage situated in a very scenic spot, however our first impressions of the cleanliness was very disappointing. On arrival we entered the cottage and as the light was fading I turned on both floor lamps either side of the fireplace., unfortunately they both were full of cobwebs and dust, the lights on the wall above the fire were also full of cobwebs. The 2 sofas in the living room obviously had not been hoovered as there were a load of crumbs and food under the cushions. The first morning we went to make breakfast, I lifted the frying pan out only to feel grease on the base ...more
A lovely cottage ,amazing views, very clean, the hamper provided was an added bonus. Plenty of parking. Lovely cafe at Blairmore
A lovely lodge in a delightful location BUT and it’s a big but, it is a long way from the nearest shop so take everything with you. The nearest shop is a 1 hour round trip down a single track road. After all that the lodge is lovely. Very spacious and nicely decorated with lovely views of Loch Fyne from the living room and the master bedroom. The kitchen is very well equipped with lots of cutlery, crockery etc. but lacks any instructions on how to use the oven. The heating is storage heaters and electric wall heaters plus a log burner. More than adequate. Two electric showers. Not the m...more
Gorgeous cottage on the loch with amazing views right over to Inverary on a clear day. Very clean and extremely well equipped and the owners extremely friendly. It would have been nice to have some drawers in the master bedroom for clothing but this didn't effect our stay at all and we could use some in the second bedroom where the children stayed. We managed to see some seals, cormorants and a heron from the beach just outside the loch and we even captured the Northern lights (in August!!) from the lochside on our last night. I would recommend and I would stay there again.
I thought Culzean House was good. The availability of a sauna and ht tub added to the value. Would have liked all of the rooms to have had en suite.
The customer service we received has been amazing. The property was fantastic and the lads were definitely comfortable.
We had a wonderful time at the Boat House, cosy with the fireplace, beautiful view (even otters came along) and quiet. We got flowers and herbs from Richard from the garden and also tried some vegetables. :-) Just to be helpfull the following: Some things can be a bit better. The wood for the stove should be a little smaller fore the Boat House or an ax would be helpfull. The kitchen is a bit outdated but still functional. The outside of the house could use a little paint. The windows need to be cleaned at the inside to have an even better view ;-).
We have been visiting dunoon for the last 15 years, me and a few friends have our annual deer stalking week with whinston Churchill and was great to stay somewhere that was only 5 mins down the road. The cottage was ideal for what we wanted and will definitely be staying again.
