Lovely cottage but Inadequate wardrobe space - Broken sun lounger Inadequate serving dishes That’s it
Had a fantastic time at Castle Cottage 1 for a week. Weather was great and had the Pine marten once, and Mr Woodpecker every afternoon
We had a very enjoyable stay at Rose Cottage despite the weather. It’s in a beautiful location and we made several walks just from our doorstep. Made a wonderful trip to Mull to Duart Castle and Tobermory. Felt very welcoming.
The studio has nearly everything you would need for a short stay, however, it doesn’t have a seperate facility for drying wet clothing or fishing gear, a small drying room/ shed outside would be a great addition as a keen fisherman. The set up inside is cosy and warm with a good sofa and bed. The duvet was a winter duvet so a little warm on a summer’s night, studio would benefit from a foot stool for raised legs whilst on the sofa and a better oven for self catering, some hooks around the place would alleviate some of the storage restrictions but all in all we enjoyed our stay but not the torr...more
First visited 40 years ago … and Ardtornish continues to thrive . The new kitchen in the South Wing gave us hope that we will long be able to enjoy the glories of the house and garden . It truly is an exceptional and magical spot. Thank you to you all for your quiet efficiency. Louise Faure Walker
Having been visiting Ardtornish for over 25 years, what more can you say. If you've not been, go, you won't regret it.
We've visited Ardtornish many times, and stayed in several different cottages / houses. Achranich was again great for us and a couple of other families who joined us. Really spacious, great facilities, amazing gardens. The large drying room is fantastic for dogs who have been joining in with paddle boarding and kayaking on Loch Arienas and Loch Aline itself.
The Billiard Room flat is full of character, very spacious, comfortable and beautifully situated. We had a wonderful week there.
We recently stayed in Craigendarroch 1 for a few nights (we had booked a week but left a couple of nights early due to the wet and windy weather!). It is a comfortable cottage in a gorgeous location and appears to have been refurbished since our last visit. The kitchen now has underfloor heating and the new shower is fab. My only request would be for a couple of non stick frying pans, other than that the kitchen is very well stocked indeed! Our top tip would be to leave some food out on the picnic table at night and then enjoy watching the cheeky little pine marten that likes to visit around ...more
This was a wonderful stay - incredible scenery, fabulous walks, friendly and helpful staff at the estate and peace and tranquility away from the hubbub of daily life.
We (family of four) stayed in the Ardtornish Craigendarroch-2 property in July and had a wonderful time. At the time of our booking, the Ardtornish website reported an error, but staff was so helpful and nice in assuring us by email that all was OK. It was our first stay at Ardtornish (having found the property by coincidence on the VisitScotland website), and already before arriving, we were in love with the story of the estate and its outstanding work in preserving the natural beauty of the area, the castle gardens etc. On arrival, we marvelled at the wonderfully cozy ambience of the cottage...more
Another return visit to Ardtornish. It’s always a special holiday. The Garden Flat is spacious full, of original features of a bygone era. the beds are really comfortable, beautiful wet room with underfloor heating. Location as part of the house is great , beautiful views from the sitting room over the loch. Easy access to explore the beautiful gardens. The staff are always extremely helpful and now they have a small shop which has ready meals and local products. No doubt we will return
We had a very enjoyable stay. We had a few issues with the central heating not coming on when we needed it to. Also the signal on the tv was a bit hit and miss. But overall we had a good time. Just an idea to brighten up the log shed area, maybe some gravel and a few flower pots to make a drab area look a bit more appealing.
