Myself & my husband had a lovely stay at Dolphins Leap, The property is in a beautiful location to have some great coastal walks, watch the ships pass by and a place to relax & enjoy the privacy of the home & gardens, The property is clean, lovingly decorated and the owners have great taste. The bed we slept in was very comfortable. We loved our stay , even though the weather was a bit dull it did not spoil our time at Dolphins Leap. We look forward to returning at a later date.
A delightful and restful holiday cottage with spectacular views and extremely welcoming and helpful owners.
We loved our stay at Brook Cottage. The location was great and the house was immaculate and had everything we could want. We will definitely come back!
Great location with an easy walk to central Deal with its range of shops and eateries. Also an easy walk to the beach. The house itself is very well equipped with everything needed for a very comfortable stay, plus it is very roomy, with a lovely courtyard garden. We do hope to stay again!
Lovely spacious accommodation for a nice getaway to Ramsgate. Very child friendly which made it very convenient. Walkable to the beach and the shops and even the little park out front was nice to have. Would recommend and would stay again if we return to the area.
Clean, comfortable, cosy. Location is excellent. Reasonable rental. Long term 24 hour parking in Sainsburys ( book thru Just Park) is handy just a couple of minutes walk away. Street parking can be challenging, but perfectly possible.
Lovely cottage, 5 minutes from sea and town. Good parking. Everything you need for an enjoyable and comfortable stay.
We stayed here for three nights over half term and couldn’t have asked for a lovelier house. Big rooms, all of which were very comfortable and clean. Perfectly situated for walking into Deal in one direction and Kingsdown (the Zetland Arms) in the other and with a park opposite. Great walled garden that was good for our dog. We are already planning our return!
Very comfortable, well located for centre of town. We had a lovely stay there and wish it could have been longer.
The house was very comfortable and in a lovely quiet village but with all amenities you could need. There is a busy pub serving food just a 5 minute walk away, opposite there is a butchers, bakery, Post Office, 2 convenience stores, a Chinese take-away and even a beauty salon. Sandwich was a 10 minute drive and Deal was 20 minute drive, same to Kingsdown where we visited The Zetland Arms. The garden was very much appreciated during the lovely weather.
The house was fabulous; very well equipped in every room, with beautiful art and ornaments throughout. We had a lovely weekend. The location was close to the beach and the shops.
Only positive things to say! The house was lovely, location was just about perfect. We had a great time - thank you. I really appreciated the contact/welcome on our first day to make sure everything was OK for us. We would definitely go back. Thank you.
The house is charming, bright and fresh with a well equipped kitchen and thoughtful bottle of Cremant left for us. We were a party of 5 and it felt easily spacious enough for a few days. The kitchen is well equipped and we made lunch and breakfast for ourselves each day. The courtyard garden is sheltered and was a lovely place to read when the weather was a bit crummy on the seafront. We walked in to Deal a few times and had only very good experiences with the restaurants. It wasnt luxury (that wasnt what I was looking for) but very comfortable, clean, perfectly decorated and excellent value....more
Wir (Familie mit zwei großen Kindern) haben den Aufenthalt in dem schönen Cottage sehr genossen. Die Einrichtung ist sehr gepflegt und geschmackvoll. Die Umgebung ist sehr ruhig. Herzlichen Dank!
Very well equipped and comfortable property where everything has been thought of, felt more like a home! Cannot fault. Great location especially if you are travelling without a car. Would love to return.
We had the delight of being the first visitors for 2024 so the house was spotless - literally. It made a stay in Dover much more bearable as we were there for work. The owners had put great attention to detail to what a visitor may need for their stay. We rebooked following a quick 5 day trip to Oostende for a few more days rather than the Premier Inn. The walk over the hill behind the house was lovely too when the sun decided to make an appearance. Nice to have that on your doorstep.
Lovely! Easy walking distance to promenande, shops, restaurants & pubs. Ideal for our family get together. Very comfortable and well equipped cottage. Would recommend and visit again.
Great accommodation ,with every need catered for and more .Location was a short walk to seafront and shops with in a 15 min walk along the promenade.
The cottage is charming and in a great location.............................................................................
The Drift in Deal is a gorgeous property. It is beautifully furnished and provided so many lovely touches. I was very impressed with it all. We enjoyed a few days in this property which is centrally located and an easy walk into Deal. I also would praise the staff at Head Office. There was a problem with one of the door keys. This was dealt with very quickly and communication was excellent. Thank you.
My husband and I had such a wonderful two-night stay at Willow Tree Lodge. The location was excellent and the facilities were all in perfect condition and SO CLEAN. Effort was made everywhere and you could really tell. I usually like exploring different places and picking new accommodation each time, but I would definitely come back here a second time.
We really enjoyed our return stay at Pier View. The flat is in a perfect position with excellent views of the beachfront and with all amenities and comforts. It is bright and modern with every facility for an enjoyable, relaxing holiday. We hope to return again next year as we had wonderful holiday. The sea view from the flat is amazing and we would definitely recommend it thank you
I had a lovely short stay at this perfectly formed little house. It has been beautifully renovated and had everything I needed. As I was there in early March, I made good use of the woodburner! Customer Service was perfect too.
This was the perfect place for a family holiday. Well equipped, spotlessly clean and very comfortable - especially the beds! We all had a great time.
Perfect location for the lovely town of Deal. Well equipped, spotlessly clean and well equipped. I would have no hesitation in booking this house or using Keepers cottages again.
Excellent stay with first class service from the team at Keepers Cottages thank you for all your professionalism
Riley cottage is the perfect spot for a small family to explore Deal and the surrounding area from. Super location on Middle Street - lovely to walk along and see all the history and a stones throw from both the beach and the excellent shops and restaurants on the High Street. We loved starting our day having breakfast in the little courtyard at the back!
As a family of four this was a delightful place to stay. The open plan living and dining room was very helpful and the large outdoor space provided plenty of room for outdoor play. The facilities were immaculate right through the house and made for a very enjoyable stay (and the little touches in the fridge upon arrival were a lovely surprise). Would highly recommend.
Great house full of quirky and unusual objects.... something new to see everyday. Plenty of room for 2 people Comfortable beds Location was very good The steps kept us fit!!! Would recommend parking in Bouverie Place....24hr NCP car park....stays can be extended remotely through the app Loved the welcome pack.... delicious granola! The light was a bit dim in the bathroom....maybe a light over the mirror would be good Overall,we really enjoyed our stay
St Mary’s House is a beautiful house with a lovely enclosed garden. It is very comfortable with lovely beds, clean bedding and everything you need in the kitchen (except a decent sized tea pot). We stayed 3 nights and found it a perfect base to visit Dover Castle, Deal and Walmer Castles, Richborough Roman remains where the Romans landed, Deal and Sandwich. Sandwich is pretty with a 16th century court room in use. We had a great meal in the pub opposite, St. Crispin's Inn. Would recommend St. Mary’s House.
We stayed with our grown daughters and their partners, booked the sunshine too. Gardens front and back to catch the sun or sea breeze or shelter as you wished. Every bedroom is large and comfortable. Big kitchen and we cooked a lot. Coffee machine was popular. TV struggled with all the family on WiFi. Great spot for walking over the cliffs with chalk meadows full of late summer wild flowers to St Margaret’s bay; lunched at The Coast Guard and the Pines. Walked to Walmer Castle via coast path and into Deal, evening drinks at Zetland Arms watching the sun go down. Beach is stony bring shoes to...more
Our second stay at Villa Vita. Lovely comfortable house, clean and well equipped, close to the town centre, station, beach and restaurants. We would definitely recommend.
Very good experience. The house is in an excellent location and furnished to a high standard. Size was very good - there was 7 of us. Decent wine glasses too!
What a weekend we all had celebrating a 60th birthday with friends and family. We stayed at the Sycamores house in Staple, Canterbury . A beautiful 5 bedroom house that sleeps 9 with a garden the size of a small park. We was lucky to have some dry weather for the children to play out in the playhouse, slide and swings. The children enjoyed the playroom , bikes and games in the shed. The kitchen and conservatory was the main vocal point for everyone to catch up with lots of eating and drinking as it was so spacious amd plenty of areas for people to sit down and rest there feet The design o...more
We couldn’t have been happier with our stay at Sea View Cottage for a multi-generational family holiday. A cosy and well-considered house with everything we needed. Great location minutes from the beach and the very attractive town of Whitstable.
Lavender Apartment is immaculate and designed to a very high standard. There's a great little café opposite, and the beach is only a couple streets away. We were visiting family in East Kent and would difinitely stay at Lavander Apartment again in the future.
Farrier Beach Cottage is perfectly located near the sea, shops and railway station. It is peacefully quiet and has everything you need for a wonderful break in Deal.
Meadow View is a lovely modern home, set on the edge of a quiet village. It’s about an 8 minute drive to Deal seafront. The house is well equipped and comfortable for 6 people. Having driveway parking is a bonus too. The real highlight though is the very large garden, with decking and seating at the end and views across the countryside to the sea. We enjoyed sitting out there in the afternoons. We had an issue with the showers in the house. Both had temperamental heat, but we’ve let Keepers Cottages know, so hopefully they will be fixed for next guests. Overall I’d highly recommend this ...more
A great cottage in a good space and place. Well equipped but sadly dated. Nice outside garden space with very welcome parking. Our second visit however it is on the market so we be are unlikely to book again.
Lovely comfortable cottage. Very well equipped and beautifully decorated. Will definitely book again!
Three beautiful bedrooms and open plan living make this a lovely place to stay for extensive exploration of the west side of Kent. We visited Sissinghurst, Great Dixter, Chartwell, Leeds Castle and explored Whitstable, Folkestone and Dover Castle. It was a delightful place to stay.
We had a fabulous New Year with family and friends at Downs Cottage. The house is stunning and its location right next to the beach made our stay really special. We absolutely loved the open plan kitchen / lounge area, a perfect place to host a gathering of family and friends.
Dexters House is ideally situated for both Deal beach and Deal High Street. It comfortably accommodates 6 people in the 3 bedrooms, relaxing in the lounge and eating at the dining table. It is clean and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. This is our 2nd stay at Dexters House and we hope to return next year. It feels very homely and we love it.
Stayed over a period of unplanned works at our property. Despite being arranged at very short notice this beautifully appointed cottage was a real haven from the chaos. It was very well equipped, spotlessly clean and comfortable and felt much larger on the inside than it looks. The secure garden (for our little cockerpoo) led right to the short path to the beach. We were staying in January in icy temperatures and it was warm and welcoming. With the direct views straight to sea from the rear rooms, it would be an enchanting place to stay at any time of the year. Highly recommend.
Incredible place to stay. So well equipped, immaculate and thoughtful, lovely welcoming touches. The location directly on the beach is beyond compare and the history of the houses and its location add so much to the charm. Thank you
Perfect well equipped cottage for four people and a dog ....spacious living area, ligh, clean and airy and a tranquil garden, a stones throw from the beach and all local facilities, added bonus of exclusive use of beach hut and kayak - we loved our stay!
We´ve enjoyed the cottage from the minute we walked in. A comfortable, clean, modern home for a perfect vacation. The back yard was stunning, we loved spending time there. Whitstable is such a cute and charming town, we will certanly return! The only issue, which we knew of before booking, was the parking situation. We took care of that problem in advance as we booked a private parking space for the whole week in the neighborhood. We absolutely loved the Starboard Light! Roger, Jennifer and Stella the Dog from Germany
Great cottage in a perfect location. Has everything needed for a comfortable holiday. Kitchen is very small but it didn’t detract from the overall comfort and we managed to cook 3 evenings. Would recommend
A lovely house in a great location. Close to Old Town, New Town, Railway station and shops. Lots of restaurants nearby too.
We have stayed at Claire's Cottage for a few years now and it is always a clean, comfortable and well equipped cottage. Will be back next year.
A lovely property which worked really well for our mixed group of three generations of our family plus a very small dog. All prior requests were met and available on arrival eg travel cot and high chair and we were pleasantly surprised at how spacious the property was. The location is excellent as the house is very close to Deal High Street and all its amenities. I would recommend this property to anyone visiting Deal.
The property was a complete surprise. A huge high quality lodge in the owners Garden. Ideal location for visiting the Kent coast. 5 minutes from the sea by car and 20 mins walk. 30 mins from Ramsgate Broadstais or Margate. 45 mins to Canterbury. The property was very clean and comfortable and thecowners friendly and helpful. We would recommend the Blue Lodge to anybody. ..
We pulled into a driveway between a field of sunflowers and an organic meadow, and drove up to the most wonderful barn. Full glass front looks over the fields, gorgeous views from both aspects. The garden is an orchard, with beehives and plenty of natural planting. It just feels wholesome. Opening the door we were met by a most welcoming open plan living area, with comfortable bedrooms, lovely bath. It suited us perfectly, including the fact that the TV room is small and separate - we much prefer to watch birds, and there were plenty of them! The living area is perfectly set up to cook and cha...more
Great stay, thank you. We really enjoyed. Very clean, good location, nice amenities, modern decor…..
The cottage is excellent. It’s positioned a short drive from 3 fantastic golf courses so is perfect for a golf weekend. 4 large bedrooms meant we all had our own rooms. A small welcome pack of biscuits, milk and a few other bits was a welcome surprise. It’s a short walk to the town of Sandwich in the evening. Clean, warm and spacious the cottage is definitely somewhere I would recommend.
This is the second time we have stayed at this property and intend to do it yearly. Great location. Parking can be a problem but there are paid car parks around if you get stuck. Always clean and tidy, though this time the top floor was generally dusty my asthma wasn’t happy not sure if it’s in the furnishings. All in all though we love this place and when we go back it’s like home :-) we even did a big roast dinner for 7 on the Sunday
This was our first stay at a holiday park which we enjoyed very much. The chalet was very comfortable and fulfilled all our requirements. The only drawback is that you need to get into the car for any shopping or visits into town. All in all a very enjoyable stay.
We were a family of 7 adults and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was huge with room for everyone, although most of the time was spent in the conservatory, the grey living room with the open fire and the dining area. The kitchen was very well equipped. The garden was huge and was enclosed so the dog could be let out without worry. There were 2 parking spaces on the private lane, one more spacious than the other but everything worked fine for us. All in all a great stay and we are already planning on when to come back.
Lovely Cottage in a great location - everywhere in walking distance. Took the 82 bus to Dover Castle (it stops outside). Excellent visit full of history. More tourist information leaflets on site would be good. Made good use of the outside courtyard space for eating out (serenaded by sparrows!). Very comfortable bed and seating (although the sofa was a bit deep for my short legs!). The spiral staircase was fine for us fit and active 70 year olds but might be a challenge for the less fit. Well equipped kitchen.
My wife and I have just returned from a short break at this property and did not really expect the reality to match the idyll shown online. I was wrong, it was a stunning apartment. It was exceptionally clean, very well appopinted andwas in a wonderful location on the seafront. I deducted 1 mark from 'condition' because one of the chairs is worn through on the arms but even that felt mean as it didn't really detract from the stay. I highly recommend this property EXCEPT for those that may have mobility issues, there are quite a few stairs to go up before entering the apartment (and then a few ...more
We had a very nice few days, and were very comfortable, this is the second time that we stayed here. We noticed this time how tired the house is looking, the pool table needs a recover, two of the showers didn’t work, the heating in the games room didn’t work, we couldn’t use one of the toilets. When I contacted the maintenance lady, she was very good, she helped me get one of the showers working and called a plumber out to sort the heating. I was impressed with her help, but there was just two meany things wrong in the first place.
Our family had a lovely holiday at The George. Just a few minutes walk to the beach, perfect for going for a quick dip in the sea. Great living space for the family with a well equipped kitchen. Really like the seclusion from the road and the drive with lots of parking space. Our dog Rosie enjoyed lying out on the patio. Would happily stay here again.
A well appointed and comfortable holiday home, conveniently placed for Sandwich and its surrounding countryside and seaside resorts. Well worth a stay!! The perfect place for a family get-together.
Excellent absolutely spot on clean. Plenty of additional creature comforts. 2 bathrooms for 4 people is a luxury u dont get often in a holiday let. Great outside seating space. Close to the town. Great relaxing areas inside.
We stayed 5 nights at The Boatman's Reading Rooms and had a wonderful time. The House was immaculate when we arrived. We loved the Style of the House - a beautiful and colorful Combination of old and new. The kitchen is really well equipped - although we didn`t use it much, because there are so many places to eat just a stonethrow away. The road outside the house is often busy until late into the night - many pedestrians also walk past and talk loudly - but we knew that before and so it wasn`t a problem for us. Having private parking spaces was the deciding factor to choose the house. But th...more
The house had everything we needed, in a great location. Kitchen very well equipped. Would stay again.
We spent 3 nights at Tally Ho over the Easter break and had a great time. The house is really comfortable and warm, with the added bonus of a secluded courtyard. The house was very clean and everything works well (although it took us a while to understand the induction hob, but that’s because we are not used to them.) If I can be really picky, I’ll say that the kitchen should have the basics such as olive oil, vinegar, coffee etc. overall, a really nice address to wind down and spend time as a family.
The property was totally satisfactory. We had a few issues with operating the heating system when we arrived in winter and it took a few days to get help with regulating it, but after that, system worked well. The location is great for pedestrians, close to the beach and also to shops. Nicely decorated cottage, and stairs are good. The TV was not a smart TV as far as we knew, so we had limited streaming. Kitchen well equipped and a larger fry pan was provided when we asked for one. A new hose also provided but we never figured out how to attach and use it.
This is a great base for your stay on north Kent coast. Clean, comfortable and great location. Close to the high street but in a quiet road. Lots of interesting shops and loads of good restaurants. Short walk to the beach or Harbour.
Stayed here several times. Large spacious house near town centre and beach. Excellent for family holidays. Highly recommend
A beautifully designed apartment with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Excellent location for the beach, the high street and access to further along the coast. Just exactly what we needed and some tasty treats left for our arrival. Very kind!
Wonderful place to stay for visits to Folkestone, convenient location, wonderfully presented, good to use as a base to explore Kent
Great location for exploring Deal. Shops and restaurants close by. Lovely pub on the corner with friendly hosts. Sea front a 2 minute walk. 15 minute walk to Deal Castle.
We stayed at Steadfast for a few days over May half term. This was our 3rd visit to Deal and this location was unbeatable. With views directly over the high street from the sitting room, we felt absolutely in the centre of things. It was so lovely to step outside the incredible Georgian front door and be a minute (if that!) from the beach and everything that the High Street has to offer. Before going to Steadfast, my husband had been concerned that the apartment might be a little small - but he couldn't have been more wrong. It is spacious and well-designed. Having the (very large)...more
Excellent property in good condition and comfortable. Great location for the beach and beach bars/restaurants. 5/10 minute walk to the town centre and station.
We made a very last minute decision to take a weeks holiday. There was a storm forecast but Kent looked to be avoiding the worst of it so we decided to head for somewhere along the coast, waiting for the very last forecast before making our final decision. After a quick internet search we found Tides Reach and thought it would suit our needs. We weren’t wrong ! I phoned Keeper Cottages on the Thursday to make a booking for the next day, this was a requirement as you cannot book at such short notice online. The booking was seamless and everyone I dealt with was extremely nice and helpful. They ...more
Our first time in this area and we were very impressed Barn was lovely, outdoor space ideal for dogs and well fenced in. Only a 10 minute walk into sandwich through a lovely park along the river lots of walks plenty of eating places dog friendly. Sandwich is a town full of history so very interesting. Be aware the road outside is very busy at times . there is a pavement but not very wide A couple of suggestions for the barn A small cupboard for groceries . the only storage was the Fridge. On Dolphin St which is off Middle St the historic part of Deal making it a great spot to stop.Rogue cottage has a good size lounge with a large front room all original features and large open fireplace.Good size kitchen through to a small dining table and handy downstairs loo. 2 upper floors with a main good comfy double bed and bathroom with a grand copper bath plus a walk in shower.3rd floor had another bedroom.Dog friendly.A super place to stop for us for our week in Deal and well worth a look.Plenty of good reviews in the house review book from previous guests.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Writer's Cottage. We loved the features and particularly the beautiful garden. The owners had gone over and beyond providing things like crockery, condiments etc. Very easy to get to anywhere in Deal from here as central position. A couple of cracks here and there, but the character of the cottage more than made up for that. We'd certainly come back.
Fabulous accommodation, well equipped with lovely rooms. Superb location with breathtaking and atmospheric views of the sea - whatever the weather! Conveniently located next to the Zetland Arms. Attending a family wedding at nearby Ripple Court, so less opportunity to avail ourselves of all the nearby amenities. Highly recommended and sad to leave.
We arrived at The Corner House in Deal at around 5pm, and couldn't open the key keeper. I rang through emergency contact number, and apparently the code had not been updated. It wasn't the best start, as itwas raining heavily, but the contact answered, and quickly helped us gain entry. The cottage is lovely, very comfortable, and situated very close to the beach, the town, and two pubs. The Corner House was very clean, apart from the floor, which was quite dirty. Maybe it had just been forgotten. There were some nice things left for us in a welcome pack, which was really unexpecte...more
From the moment we stepped into The Abode, its character and warmth were simply enchanting. The careful restoration of the 15th-century cottage, paired with modern comforts like a fully equipped kitchen, Wi-Fi and Sky glass TV made our stay both cosy and convenient. The location couldn’t be better - a short walk to my parents place, the Abode is nestled among charming shops and riverside walks, yet surprisingly quiet. Best of all, our dog was welcome. Truly a perfect stay—already planning a return!
Sweet cottage for two .. three would be a bit of a squash… cosy , great location, everything you need is there .. very narrow steep stairs with a rope handle so not for everyone but loved our stay .. would come again !
An ideal base for travellers without a car. Close to station and town centre and beach. We hope to use the house again.
Welcoming basket would have been grateful ! No Barbecue tools. Sparse kitchen utensils. Otherwise ok.
This beautiful cottage is full of character. Although very old, the cottage is in excellent condition with good modern facilities. The woodburning stove with very welcome on cooler autumn evenings. The location of the cottage is very good for exploring East Kent. Locally Blean Woods provide some attractive rural walks and the opportunity to spot wild bison!
We have just returned from a 5 night stay at Downsview, what a wonderful beachside cottage.the house is spacious and comfortable with amazing views across the beach and the channel.the large family room/kitchen was perfect for our family visit and we were provided with everything we could need for a comfortable stay. The beds were so comfortable but our favourite spot was the glass balcony looking out across the channel. We ate at both local pubs,The Zetland Arms and The Rising Sun,the food was great at both venues and I thoroughly recommend them, breakfasts at The Goose on the Green and The ...more
A superb holiday for our party of 15 plus a dog. Kids loved trampolining, tennis, croquet, with a football goal included while adults enjoyed the terrace and amazing gardens which are huge, extending in 3 directions from the house. The rooms and bedrooms are spacious, with character and comforts. Part of the character is it's age but everything worked fine. A bit more fridge/freezer capacity would be good. The view from the top floor across to the castle and sea beyond is stunning. You can walk from the driveway to the beach side path in a few minutes or up onto the clifftop. Ample opportuniti...more
The Flat in Deal is a lovely property in the heart of Deal. The flat is well kept and the beds are super comfy. There is a small outside space so you can bring a dog. Whilst we liked our flat, there was alot of noise both nights from the pub next door. It had loud music until well into the early hours. That was a pity for us as we were there for a relaxing getaway.
Lovely house. Great space for multigenerational holiday ,(8 adults , a 7 year old, two 3 year olds ,new baby and a dog) comfy beds ,well equipped kitchen and good sized rooms.Large enclosed garden ideal for children to play. The tennis court and basketball hoop as well as the pool table provided hours of entertainment . We enjoyed walks from the house across farmland, lots of footpaths to follow. Internet connection poor, frequently cut out. An outdoor washing line would have been useful .
Flint House has been finished to an exceptional standard and provided everything we needed. It’s almost directly on the beach and well connected to many local areas and attractions.
Fern cottage is in a great location very close to the town and the sea. It is tastefully decorated and has everything to make you feel at home.
The Bothy suited us well. The owner, Chris, was quick to respond and rectify a problem with an alarm. Thank you Chris. Despite knowing that no-one could see in, not having window blinds in the bathroom and ensuite was a little off-putting. Having a receptacle for recyclables in the utility room would be helpful as would a tea caddy in the well equipped kitchen area. All in all we would recommend The Bothy to others and we may return sometime ourselves.
Moat Farm House was such a great venue for celebrating a family birthday Everyone enjoyed their stay greatly. A lovely location and perfect accommodation. The house was well appointed with everything needed on hand. Cant recommend highly enough.
Quite satisfied with all aspects of this pretty little cottage. Everything we needed for a short stay.
A comfortable modern house with all the appropriate amenities. We had a lovely holiday in pretty Deal.
We had a party of 12, 8 in the main farmhouse, 4 in the barn. Stunning weather all week so every meal outside, great with 7 kids under12! Stayed with smaller group 2 years ago just in farmhouse, but the combined gardens/lawns of both properties were a huge asset for outside activities. Peaceful location just on edge of Sandwich perfect for beach, town and beyond. Virtually everything expected in the properties was there, and communication with Keepers very efficient. We will return! (Nb; recycling etc a bit complicated, not helped by some misting bins….)
1. The access to the flat needs better description and signage 2. The heating in the flat has been upgraded and needs description in the flat's notes. Otherwise the flat is great and we really enjoyed ourselves in Deal!
Gorgeous house, great location, fab hosts. We will be back! Loved it! From 2 very fulfilled families of 4 x
Great location, quiet but very close to town centre and an easy walk to the beach. House was very well equipped, garden was a lovely sun trap, beds were very comfortable, good communal kitchen. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay as seven adults and a dog, would stay again!
Really Interesting place. Stylish, high end furnishings and comfortable. Couple of things would make it more welcoming. Lot of dust on lampshades and behind TV. I notice cos allergic. Little things like a bit of tin foil, kitchen paper, couple of herbs and bit of oil would be nice. Washing machine provided but no tablets or clothes horse. Not too much to ask really. Outside space really needs cleaning especially as looking at broken windows of another property. Appreciate, not a lot you can do about that but at least it's quiet apart from kitchen extractor. Lovely cottage, beautifully furnished, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Lovely deck area in the back garden for morning sun, coffee and relaxing. Very close to the beach (3 mins walk) and extensive coastal paths. Great food and drinks can be had at the lovely Zetland Arms.
Excellent location. Good facilities. Parking space a bonus. We are regular visitors and shall return next year. A visit to Zetland Arms is a must
A wonderful place to stay for peace and quiet, and just switching off for a few days with family. Stand in front of the cottage, facing the fields ahead of you, and just listen to the soothing silence, a real change from our city life. Well-positioned for access to plenty of nice beaches, best of which was Ramsgate, less than 30 mins drive.
We had a wonderful three-week stay at Captain's Cottage. The location is perfect - especially for young families or older visitors - with the beach, the castle, the playground, the amenities at Roman Landings and the large supermarkets all on the doorstep. The bedrooms are all generously sized and with two bathrooms and two WCs, it's easy to have some privacy. The property itself is in need of some TLC, but with young children, friends and family all visiting us, it suited us that way. The team at Keeper's Cottages were quick to respond to issues and were always helpful and polite. Thank you f...more
Excellent location from main street shops, places to eat and drink and the beach. Quiet. Very steep staircase, shame no downstairs WC. Simply furnished but had all that we needed. Some people might not like the shabby chic interior. Could do with a towel rail in the shower room and a table in attic bedroom to place makeup etc. Light switches take a bit of getting use to.
We stayed at Reed Loft for a week in August. Overall it's a great property with the added bonus of your own Swimming Pool and Sauna. Its much bigger than the photos show especially on the 1st floor! It's well maintained and the kitchen is equipped with everything needed for a relaxing holiday. We stayed during a heatwave which was great but the upper floor was uncomfortably hot even with the floor fans going. The road to the property is mainly single track which was quiet most days but needed care when encountering oncoming cars/tractors etc.
What a great stay here - location perfect, wonderful view, comfy beds, a great breeze keeping the property cool in an heatwave and all the gadgets we needed, kitchen well kitted out and very relaxing. Just a stones throw to the sea and a refreshing dip, close to some truly fabulous fish and chips and 15 mins walk to the town centre. What really made the difference were the excellent team at keepers (especially Phoebe)who helped us with locating the travel cot and helped put us up, even sending someone round when all 4 of us puzzled at how to keep it up (there is a knack), at 5.30 on a Friday. ...more
The apartment is light, well eqipped and quiet. It is in an excellent location, close to the sea front and shops/cafes and about 10 minutes walk to train station. The only slight negative, the bedroom and hallway windows look out onto the bins from the flats - probably not a real issue for most though.
We had a wonderful weekend with just a couple if probs tgat will hopefully be sorted for next people going in. The house is lovely and the stairs certainly kept us fit which was a good thing! The frying pan in the kitchen was unusable so we bought 2 at poundstretchers for our own use and the kettle was leaking as it was cracked so we used a pan.cooker needed cleaning BUT apart from these issues it is certainly a lovely house and would recommend as these issues easily fixable.
We loved staying in Mary’s Cottage, Kingsdown. The cottage was beautifully decorated and appointed and really comfortable to be in. It also had a wonderful private garden with seating and a BBQ. The cottage is much larger than it looks with plenty of living space and 3 double bedrooms. The cottage was idea for a dog too, and only 3 minutes from the beach. An ideal location to cycle from with many many trails and walks and 2 lovely pubs within a couple of minutes. Also great for sea swimming. Thank you, I would definately like to stay again.
We found the layout tricky, super narrow stairs, kitchen in the basement, everything looks a lot bigger in the photos. No shampoo, body wash etc so we had to go out and buy that.
It really is an old fisherman’s cottage! The stairs will be our lasting memory we’re definitely fitter than when we arrived . Lovely period features from a bygone age. The cottage is very well appointed and comfortable; the gas fire was perfect for drying coats during a drizzly few days. That wasn’t a negative we loved the town and how dog-friendly it is. Overall, excellent value and a great, central base for exploring the area.
Amazing view over open farm land with the sea in the distance Friendly and helpful owners who were on hand if needed Very clean comfortable accommodation Would stay again if visiting the area
Returned to Blackhorse Loft and had a beautiful time, again. Well equipped with everything we wished for. Great location and super cozy. Loved it!
This is a lovely, well equipped spacious apartment. The location is very good but a little let down by the view of some of the surrounding buildings. Our stay was enjoyable apart from the incredibly uncomfortable sofas in the lounge area. This meant that we mainly sat at the dining table, which is not ideal for relaxing! Suggest the owners invest in some new seat cushions as they are clearly beyond their best. Would be happy to return if this was resolved.
Lovely house - very comfortable and stylish furniture, fittings etc. Nice feel to the house - a house that is loved.
A comfortable house with every thing we needed for our stay. There is no off-road parking but we had no problem parking 3 minutes away on Eastern Esplanade. The location is great with 2 beaches and a good selection of restaurants and pubs within a 5 minute walk while the road is very quiet.
Lovely house, very roomy Very well equipped kitchen Great to have 2 tv rooms Very good bathrooms and showers not so good Arrived to not a single sheet of toilet paper in the entire house Bin in one of the bathrooms hadn't been emptied With the exception of the downstairs shower room, there's a complete lack of hooks/pegs in all the rooms for towels/dressing gowns etc (also none of the bedroom doors actually close shut properly so if you have dogs/kids they can get into any room simply by pushing!) Also none of the bedrooms had litter bins which is slightly annoying Finally, be awar...more
This was our second visit to Rumbosun. The cottage is lovely, well appointed and great location near the beach. The rooms are comfortable, light and airy. There is a great enclosed garden which was ideal for the dog, which back gate access, so that they we didn't have to come back through the house. It is very peaceful here as there isn't a lot of noise, even with renovation work across the road. Being able to park at the back of the house was very useful too. There a couple of minor things which require addressing in the house as it is old, the main issue being the living room sofas as th...more
What a lovely building to have an apartment in! Lovely views. Easy walk into Deal. We were lucky to have dry weather!
Excellent location. The information from the hosts was clear and they were responsive. The house had lots of charm and space. We would recommend.
The location of the hide was great and it was a great house for sharing with friends. It should make it clear that only two small cars can park at the house as the turning into the house is so tight. The cleanliness and condition let it down for us and a more useful welcome pack would have made a better first impression.
Comfortable and charming property near seafront but in a quiet square within walking distance to the centre of Deal. Have now stayed there five times and enjoyed every stay.
Short walk to beautiful quiet beach. Nice relaxing living space and well kept garden. Would stay again
Very pretty and comfortable and on a lovely street handy for the seafront and high st. My twin room had two good-sized beds and didn't remotely feel like a 'kid's room'. The only bad point was that we couldn't get any hot water out of the overhead shower, but we managed with the hand-held one.
The cottage is well situated and well appointed. It is clean and offers excellent facilities. There are lots of glasses and plates in the kitchen. Strangely enough we could not find a vegetable peeler: it would be good to check the basics are covered. However we are delighted with our stay and would recommend the cottage to family and friends.
Little Chart is a lovely old cottage full of character. It's beautifully furnished and very well equipped. However it would help if the "House Manual" was left in an obvious place - it was hidden behind some bottles in the kitchen. We did not find the deep freeze (in the summerhouse/shed in the garden) until after our shopping had been delivered and the few frozen things we had ordered were returned because we thought we had nowhere to keep them! It would help if the location of the freezer was specified in the details. It was literally a 2 minute walk to the beach through a lovely little ...more
I was excited to finally book a stay with Keepers Cottages who I follow on social media and id promised myself I’d treat myself to a stay in one of their properties. I’m afraid Peace Cottage did not look as good in real life as it did in the photographs! The upstairs was fine actually but the sitting room ( particularly) felt a bit dirty. The cleaning in there and the kitchen was below the standard I would have expected. The skirting boards were filthy and there were crumbs on the worktops. The garden is so overgrown that it is unusable and no table and chairs for outdoor dining etc. The posit...more
Curious Cottage is a really cute property located in the historic part of Deal. We loved the location and the accommodation, it was perfect for two adults and a dog. It's fully equipped and we liked the court yard area which was a great corner to relax on a sunny afternoon. Having a parking space was also a bonus as they are hard to come by in this town.
My family and I , had a wonderful week staying at Seas the day. The house was wonderful and I would highly recommend.
I stayed at the Old Cottage on a week that was a mix of typical British weather. The property is right near the beach and town, so on a sunny day when just heading to the beach or going for a walk the location would be great. However on the days its raining and you want to go explore the area, you may find this is a bit of hassle as the nearest on street parking is over 10 mins walk away or you are willing to pay for a car park and move your car during the day (almost every car park is short stay). The property is comfortable enough, on arrival we had a nice hamper and it had all the accesso...more
We stayed at the oyster cottage in Whitstable which was anvery charming house, well decorated and spacious. Loved the local art all around the house and had everything at hand. Personally I didn’t like the beds, one was too hard and the other one had a pit. Otherwise it would have been perfect.
The location couldn’t have been better right on the beach and next to a fantastic pub but the property lacked in areas. The garden was very tired and covered in weeds. Not a particularly pleasant area to sit out in. Several of the decking boards felt like you could put your foot through them. There was a tap but no outside shower or hose to wash the dogs after being in the sea. Inside was lovely but no standing showers. We had to sit in the free standing bath and use hand held shower to wash or have baths and with two big teenage boys this wasn’t ideal. Would be easy to just put an attachme...more
Seaside cottage has been recently renovated to a very good standard. It is also very well equipped in terms of kitchen and laundry equipment and utensils . My only quibbles were that the fridge/freezer was very small and that the lighting in the living room and small bedside lamps could be looked at. The traffic on Beach Street may be irritating to some people as it appears to have no speed limit.
Nice cottage in a really great location - near High St, Recreation Ground, 2 mins to a friendly pub - The Alma, less than 5 mins to West St Long stay car park, 10/15 min to seafront The welcome pack provided was a nice touch - oatly milk sachets, granola, biscuits, tea The cottage is 3 storeyed with wooden floors on top levels and tiled kitchen. The stairs are uncarpeted. The kitchen is well equipped with a small table top style fridge/freezer. Really good comfy beds with plenty of pillows We felt the sitting room seating could be improved. The 1 1/2 person love seat was ok but the o...more
Issues with black mould at the property. Stench of mould when we arrived, back door left open clearly to try and get rid of the smell by airing the place. Told repeatedly no one ever reported it before and the owner stayed last week - very patronising and not dealt with adequately. We had to spend as much time as possible out of the house as it was affecting our breathing if there for too long. No offer of compensation against the £970 cost despite the issues - just an offer of money off a future stay - pointless offer as would not use them again. Also plates/ cutlery were dirty and had to wa...more
We had a wonderful time at Elizabeth Cottage. It’s in a perfect location: close to the shops, close to the beach, right in the heart of the lovely conservation area. The cottage is very nicely decorated. Two great double rooms. A small but cosy living room and a fantastic kitchen with everything you need. As stated in the description, these are exceptionally steep stairs and our 4 yo struggled a bit. While we were staying there, we noticed some damp patches on ceilings and walls. We soon realised that this was because of a leak from the bathroom which meant we couldn’t use the shower on ou...more
We had a lovely stay here. The accomodation was very comfortable with comfy beds. it was well equipped with everything you would need. It was a great location for visiting Dover castle and for our stay after our trip abroad via ferry. It was indeed handy to have a washing machine too! The site itself, we weren't able to use the pool unfortunately so can't comment on that but the children enjoyed the golf. We also visited the beach which is a short walk away, easy enough with children. It's a pebble beach and we had a lovely few hours here. My only comments for updates would be that the shower ...more
Very nicely located and spacious house but the rear garden was overgrown, the lawn needed mowing and we’d have appreciated better bed linen . The quirky bedroom furniture wasn’t very practical for storing clothes either .
We liked this old house with its quirky layout and it was handy for all amenities. There was building work going on opposite, which we were pre-warned about. This was a bit disruptive at times, but didn't spoil our stay too much. The house and kitchen was well fitted out generally, but there was a shortage of bedroom storage. There were a few little things that hadn't been fixed eg a broken hook in the main bathroom and missing toothpaste holder, plus the toilet roll holder in the upper bathroom. The living area was comfortable and homely. We also liked the eclectic trappings and pictures sca...more
We arrived with our guide dog puppy, and our delivery van of online shopping to find no message, no keys, no emergency contacts, owners not there to give us keys and explain parking etc as promised and no key press code. Amazingly after several phone calls to Keepers Cottages office we got hold of someone. They had no idea but said they would try to contact the owners. After 15 minutes they called to tell us where to find a key and apologise that the person meeting us had left early. No idea why they didn’t bother to contact us by phone / text / email or leave a note or inform the keepe...more
A fantastic location for accessing a lovely part of Kent. Clean comfortable cottage ideal for 4 guests with a real feeling of privacy and seclusion set in a beautiful garden with rear views to a meadow .
A lovely cottage, beautifully furnished and with everything you could need for a holiday cottage. Fantastic location, a very short walk to the sea front and the centre of Deal, down a beautiful little side alley. We stayed just outside of main holiday season and had no trouble finding free on street parking a short walk away. The stairs in the cottage are very steep but it wasn't an issue for us.
The house was in a lovely location, although due to this, there is a constant stream of cars driving past it to/from the beach/pub next door - so not exactly peaceful. The renovation/conversion of the house to it's current state appears to have been done really well and it incorporates some really nice design features, however, it feels like the house hasn't been maintained very well since then: leaks in the kitchen & downstairs bathroom, a rotten front door, a ripped doormat sellotaped together, taps coming loose and a window that can't be opened in the main bathroom (no curtain in there ...more
Loved Honeysuckle cottage ,cosy with a great location ,garden was nice to sit in and would definitely book this cottage again .
The cottage is great, very well furnished with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The location is ideal with Whitstable beach and High St within walking distance. Some people may find the spiral staircase a challenge. A nice spacious garden. We would love to return.
The house is in a pleasant location, within walking distance to both the beach and the town center, and parking was fine. Unfortunately, there isn’t much more positive to say. The property is in generally poor condition and not particularly clean. Some doors had white powder spread around them (possibly against ants), not great when traveling with little children. The main bedroom window could not be closed. The garden furniture is completely rusted and one of the walls toward the neighbor is about to collapse, the satellite dish mentioned in a year old review is still lying around as well. Th...more
This is a gorgeous old house with huge potential, but the house has not been laid out well and is in desperate need of restoration. For example, there are three bedrooms upstairs and a further bedroom downstairs, but all the bathrooms are downstairs, meaning that you have to walk down creaking old staircases in the night. This could be resolved as there is a large space between two of the bedrooms upstairs that could (with a little investment) be converted to a bathroom. The floorboards in the bedrooms are literally coming apart with several large holes in one bedroom and ad-hoc repairs across...more
