A family member had recommended this property and we were not disappointed. A lovely house with a large kitchen diner with great views over he hills. A nice sunny garden with a stream across the road is a great place to sit for a morning coffee. Private parking is a plus. The village is charming and the house is only a few yards from two pubs, a restaurant, the village store/tearoom and a cafe. Keswick is only a few minutes away by car. The booking and instructions were easy and the only difficulty was some confusion over bin collections, which was swiftly resolved over the phone by the ...more
Absolutely beautiful location, so tastefully decorated & well stocked kitchen. Ideal spot for visiting the Lakes.
I stayed with my two sisters for 4 nights in September. The house was clean, comfortable and very spacious. All 3 double bedrooms were large. Having two bathrooms (plus an additional toilet!) was great. The furnishings and decor were lovely, giving the house a cosy, welcoming feel. It was much better equipped than many holiday lets, in terms of crockery, kitchen equipment, books, sound system etc. The glimpses from upper windows of Skiddaw and other hills was nice. The backyard is quite functional, but was pleasant for sitting out in the sun in the evening. It's just a 5 minute walk to the tow...more
This is an outstanding place to stay in the heart of Keswick. Furnished to a very high standard with very comfortable beds and a home-from-home feel. Great for adult groups. Over 4 floors so lots of stairs. Fabulous views and a telescope on the top floor. We had an issue with one of the remote controlled blinds but this was taken care of immediately by the support team, who were excellent.
We stayed at Deer Close Cottage primarily due to it's location in the Borrowdale Valley. We are 'bagging' the Wainwrights and the cottage is close enough to tick a few more off. It is only a short and very lovely walk into Keswick for a 'down' day and food/drink. The cottage is as beautiful as it looks on the website in a stunning, peaceful location. We were so pleased and the cottage far exceeded our expectations. It is extremely well equipped and so cosy, a home from home and not compact, such lovely space. There are lovely views from all rooms, perfect if staying in on a rainy day. W...more
A wonderful stay in a very comfortable and cosy property which offered everything one could ask for including onsite parking for one car. It's location is absolutely perfect being a few minutes walk from Keswick, along with at least 4 lovely parks close by all of which are fabulous for dogs. The Keswick Cottages team are very friendly and efficient. Sadly, we understand the owners will not permit dogs onsite for any new bookings, so we'll seek alternative accommodation in the area.
5 of us had a lovely Monday to Friday booking at 7 The Townhouses. Everything was as stated and the bathrooms were beautifully clean and the beds very comfortable. We had to ask our neighbour for a corkscrew, they had 3! We did have a problem with the shower over the bath but this was promptly sorted out. During one night the heating randomly came on! No idea why! Otherwise all good. We would come again. It was lovely to be able to walk to all the facilities and not use the car.
A great location and very homely comfortable and well equipped cottage. .
We Really enjoyed our short break ideally would have liked a few more days So, if there are ever any offers on your cottages we would jump at the chance On the whole, loved the cottage and the staff were always very helpful. Thanks again
Very good base for our recent holiday . Comfortable, cosy and really warm. Booths supermarket , the bus station and Keswick itself all on the doorstep
This was our fifth stay at Blencathra, and we have already booked for next year, it's a great place to stay.
Mountain View is a perfect place for a Lake District stay. The apartment itself is spotless and the bed is so comfy. The property has everything you could need. Location is prime and the parking space just seals the deal. There are a good few stairs to the property but this is made clear in the description and was not an issue for us. It could be a bit noisy at times due to its location but again this was not an issue for us. We have used Keswick Cottage’s before and we would not stay with anyone else. The only issue I can think of was the email I received said about a tablet in the prop...more
A great place to stay, very cosy and luxurious. Sorry we couldn't sit on the decking it rained all week. Loved the Farmers Arms for both drinks and food.
Very spacious and comfortable apartment. Great to have reserved parking for two cars. Well furnished and décor in good condition. Nice kitchen/dining area and lounge. Handy cupboard for coats and shoes plus a separate utility room. Great location in the centre of Keswick surrounded by pubs, bars, restaurants, shops and close to the cinema, Hope Park and the lake. We slept very well on the firm mattress of the master bedroom. The other couple in one of the front bedrooms were a little disturbed by the music from the bar opposite, which is a lovely little bar by the way. I definitely recommend t...more
Our stay in Keswick was excellent with regards to the accommodation and it being so central to the town centre. Amazing shops, eating and drinking establishments! Would strongly recommend this place to visit.
Beautiful holiday home. Our 4th stay and always spotless, well equipped and extremely comfortable. The views from the property are fabulous with lovely walks from the doorstep. Thankyou for another wonderful break in Braithwaite. We love booking with an independent company, who answer the phone when you call and always go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Thankyou Keswick Cottages.
We've stayed in Bridge House 4 or 5 times now - it's a great house in the perfect location for us, with all the amenities we need. Having the huge garden is a brilliant bonus, perfect for the grandkids to play safely, parking is ideal, and the house itself is very spacious and comfortable. As always, it was immaculately clean (brilliant job by the cleaning staff) and had everything we needed. Keswick Cottages staff very helpful as always - thoroughly recommended :)
Coledale was easy to locate and on a very busy Saturday having allocated parking was brilliant, as it was throughout the week. Access to the property was easy to. The apartment was comfortable and cosy, and had all facilities we needed. It was close enough for us to walk into Keswick, and a great base for many walks too. We really enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Coledale, and in fact already have! And hopefully we will return next year too.
We're recently back from our 2nd stay at Skiddaw Skies. We just love the apartment - its facilities, views and wonderful collection of books and maps. There are a lot of stairs, but we have no issues with them. Only disappointment was the dreadful weather for walking, culminating in storm Amy, so it was even more important to have comfortable accommodation. Contact with Keswick Cottages was helpful and efficient and it's so good to be able to talk to someone easily, rather than having to battle with automated systems.
Farmers Retreat was one of the nicest holiday cottages we have been in for a very long time. We visit Keswick frequently. It was clean, comfortable with beautiful decor and comfortable furniture and beds. We loved its location on the edge of Fitz Park so the easy walk into town was made more special by walking through a pristine park. The children enjoyed their evening swims in the river Greta. It was idyllic. The cottage could do with a bit more storage space in the bedrooms and towel rails in the bathroom. We particularly appreciated the cloakroom downstairs. Being a 3 generation family wi...more
We loved staying in this cottage. The facilities were excellent and everything we needed for our stay. We particularly loved the uncomplicated modern shower. The bedroom was spacious with a large comfy bed to relax in after a busy day’s walking. Will definitely stay here again in the future. The staff at Keswick Cottages we’re very friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome.
We had a great stay in Keswick. We missed some equipment to clean our boots. Don’t visit the twa dog inn, good isn’t great.
Great stay for a family of 8, the only gripe was the main sofa was difficult for the older members of our party to get in and out of. All the other facilities were top class.
The property was immaculate - very well equipped and a few minutes walk from the centre of Keswick. There was parking at the back for 3/4 cars. Our group were very impressed.
Lovely house, clean and comfortable and very well equipped, would stopped there again. In a good location and nice a quiet area
The cottage was part of a large former hotel and it has been converted very sympathetically. The rooms are large, clean, and comfortable - we had a lot of space for the two of us (and the dog!) One of my favourite things was the picture window in the lounge, with beautiful views across the countryside down to the lake. The beds were very comfortable and the area was quiet. We did have a couple of issues with the boiler going off and the kettle not working but these were dealt with quickly. Beside that, everything was great and we had a wonderful time - shame about the rain!
Great location and space within the apartment. Views from apartment were lovely. Parking spot appreciated. Flat well decorated. Hope to return soon.
We had a lovely week staying in Swallows Lodge. The beds and sofas were comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. There was plenty of space for five of us, plus a large dog. Having two bathrooms and toilets was useful, and there was a clothes airer as well as an outside washing line. We were extremely lucky with the weather as it was warm and dry for the entire week, so we didn’t need to use the heating. There were plenty of heaters so I imagine it would be warm in colder weather. The views over Derwentwater to the mountains on the far side of the lake are beautiful and can be enjoyed fro...more
We've had several stays now in Bridge House Apartments in Keswick. The cleanliness, condition etc of the property was, as always, superb. The only slight downside initially were 2 disappointed grandchildren - the trampoline had gone from the garden! Also, on a wider issue (and through no fault whatsoever of Keswick Cottages) there were several pieces of play equipment, including the zipwire, out of action in the play area of Fitz park. This area is normally teeming with families and kids, but was very quiet this year. As this is probably the busiest time of year, and I realise that there woul...more
This is a very well equipped bungalow in a beautiful location. Wonderful views of hills from every window, in a very quiet and secluded location, whilst only a 15 minute walk from the centre of Keswick. The bungalow is very well furnished with all mod cons and lots of small extras. The garden is fully enclosed, and perfectly safe for well trained dogs to run around. As others have commented, don’t let the nearby waterworks put you off. You can’t see it or hear it from the bungalow or gardens, and there were no smells at all from it. We certainly hope to return and would highly recommend th...more
A lovely apartment, with parking, close to the centre of Keswick.Very well equipped, would book again.
A lovely flat ideally situated near Keswick. Easy access to Keswick (approx 3.5 miles), Buttermere, Catbells etc etc. Bus stop just outside accommodation with frequent buses to and from Keswick if required, even late into the evening
5 the Townhouses was perfect for our 5 night stay; comfortably housing 5 people (including 3 teenagers) and one dog. The comfortable first floor living room gave us glimpse views of the surrounding hills and the large table in the well-equipped kitchen was great for family games. Would definitely recommend.
Great spot, so good having the garage as dedicated parking. Super close to all the facilities of the town and loved how quiet it was.
This was our first time staying at Fairbank and the first time we have booked with Keswick Cottages. We were quite happy with both and the welcome box of tea and biscuits was a lovely gesture! Fairbank was in an ideal location for our needs...being so close to accessing Fitz Park via the bridge opposite the property was lovely. We were wary about the parking permit having never used one before when staying at a cottage, but we had no trouble at all with this. We were able to park in Otley Road car park which was just a stones throw away from the cottage. Fairbank was very comfortable and we wo...more
Great cottage, spacious, 2 bathrooms, well kitted out. Amazing setting, walks from your doorstep, handy for Keswick, Derwent Water, Buttermere, etc.
Loved our stay at Glen Cottage. Lovely welcome pack for us and the dog. The cottage was very cosy & had everything we needed. Great little garden too & just across the road from the village shop and pubs. Perfect!
This is the second time that we have stayed at Greta Bank. It is in a convenient location close to the bus station and Booths for shopping. It is useful for us that it is all on one floor, the ground floor so you don't have to carry your bags far. The apartment is very clean and well stocked with crockery and cutlery and feels spacious. It is very quiet even though it is centrally situated and the beds are comfortable. The one car parking space is very generous and easy to access even with a large car, we always leave the car parked up and use the buses. We also love feeding the birds that vis...more
Very central, lovely place, well equipped. Would highly recommend, we had a great time in Keswick …………….:::……………………………..
We loved Jasmine Cottage! Cosy, comfortable and we loved the area. A tearoom next door and a great pub a 5 minute walk away and excellent hikes on the doorstop. It was perfect for us!
We had a lovely stay at Bridge Mews with our dog, would definitely recommend. Lovely site and great location, just a short walk to the centre of Keswick.
Great location in Braithwaite and well appointed cottage with nice, shiny bath (welcome after a day on the fells) and lots of useful equipment for home cooking - would have been great to have had a few more baking trays to put multiple roasting items in the oven but the air fryer worked really well, so maybe not needed for most people. Nice and well-cleaned with plenty of boot and waterproofs drying space in the utility room, loads of coat hanging hooks too - really useful and surprisingly overlooked in many other cottages in which we have stayed over the years. Ambient background lighting f...more
Any properties in the Bridge House complex benefit from a great location, a secure outdoor area for dogs and children and 2 parking spaces. For a short period in our week long break we had 3 cars to park so we were requested to pay extra to park in front of the cleaners garage even though some of the other apartments were empty so there was plenty of space anyway.
Excellent cottage very comfortable every thing you need is there car parking space is a bit tight I would definitely recommend staying
That garden…. If you have dry weather it just stunning. Lovely stay at Greta House, great location. The back bedroom view is amazing. Parking not the best but we could always get a space. Keswick cottages always on hand with any queries. The only downside for us would be pillows… only because I prefer them firmer. Also in the warmer weather a fan in the bedrooms would be a great addition.
Me, my partner and the dog had an amazing 3 night stay at Skiddaw View apartment. It was exactly as described with some thoughtful extras. It was my partners 40th birthday and they had left a card and prosecco for our arrival, as well as a doggy gift pack, to mention a few. Really appreciate the personal touches. The apartment was exceptionally clean, the kitchen was well equipped and sofa was comfortable. The view was fab and it was lovely to see what we’d climbed up from the window. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend!
An exceptionally well presented holiday let that is worth every penny. Strongly recommended to anyone looking to stay in the area
Lovely accommodation high standard of furnishings everything you need and more in the kitchen, comfortable beds. 37 steps up to the apartment door
A very homely place, well organized, clean and well kept. The host was also friendly! A definite recommendation.
A lovely cottage in an ideal location to explore Keswick and beyond. Quaver Cottage is warm and very comfortable and had all that we needed for us to feel very ‘at home’ whilst there. Many thanks to the owners and Keswick Cottages for a very pleasurable booking and holiday experience.
Having stayed at Millside cottage previously, we used the property after our daughter's wedding at the Lodore falls hotel on 2nd October before returning home. The main reason as before was because it was dog friendly. Welcome packs for 2 dogs but only a "cleaning pack" for us and a small beverages starter. As before, frying pans really need re-newing and steamer utensils for the microwave would be really useful. The property was warm on arrival and had a good real flame gas fire. The beds as before were very comfortable and there is a small shop only metres away. Ideal to get into Keswick, on...more
We had a very good week staying in Acorn Cottage the property was very clean and the beds comfortable. The cottage is well equipped we didn’t really want for anything. Our dogs even had their own welcome pack of treats and a chewy rope. Our only criticism is that the settees were quite low, so all in all we were very happy.
This was my fifth or sixth stay at Tithe Cottage, and it continues to be absolutely perfect every time. The cottage is always spotless, warm, and beautifully maintained – a real home-from-home in the heart of Keswick. The peaceful location, just a short walk from the town centre, with easy access to walks, shops, and restaurants. Whether I’m heading out for a hike or just relaxing, Tithe Cottage has everything we need. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into making sure guests feel welcome and comfortable. I’m already looking forward to my next visit
Been going to Keswick for years and this was a last minute decision which was a good one. Loved being so close to everything and the place was immaculate home from home could not fault it. Thanks to the team who looked after us and nothing was too much i even contacted the office on the Sunday a day before we were due to leave to secure it for four more nights. David was very helpful indeed.
We have had a wonderful week exploring and staying in the lovely relaxing location. We had much fun in all the areas around Keswick, Kendal, Windermere, Ambleside and many more areas and lakes. Always a beautiful cottage to come home to after each day exploring to relax and everything to help you cook a meal.
The house was very spacious and had plenty of room for 6 and a dog. The kitchen was very well stocked, there were enough towels and the cleaning pack/welcome pack was fine. The WiFi provided was good. The parking g space was quite tight for our Seat Atteca so we parked on the street. This was fine each day as there were plenty of on street spaces outside property. The heating worked well, the property was very warm. The beds were comfy. The place was clean but I noticed a few areas that are obviously not cleaned regularly, such as the radiator in upstairs bathroom and the decorative cushions ...more
The Accommodation we booked through Keswick Cottages, is a lovely place to rest and recuperate after a days walking. The beds are very comfortable and afforded a great nights sleep. The apartment is centrally located in Keswick and good for all the amenities the town has to offer. We enjoy staying here having stayed here on two previous occasions.
Our third stay at Elm Court and would definitely come back again. Perfect location to explore Keswick and surrounding area. Only suggestion is probably needs a new vacuum cleaner.
Barf cottage is a lovely clean, comfortable cottage which is very well equipped. We were blessed with the weather and had a wonderful relaxing week here. The pub is about 1 minutes walk away, and there is a lovely cafe in the village, about 5 minutes walk. There are lots of lovely walks around - Keswick is just over a mile along a level footpath and there are lovely walks along the side of the lake, and up to Catbells. There is also a bus stop - we caught the bus to Seatoller and walked back to the cottage. We had a dog with us, and there is a small paved garden for them to use (keep an eye...more
We so loved our stay at Rosebank. It was warm and comfortable. Perfect position for our climbing the surrounding fells. Two bathrooms was a real bonus. Thank you.
Lovely little cottage in Braithwaite. I know village well & was up visiting parents. Very tastefully decorated. Pretty little garden with a pull out washing line. Nice little pack left for my dog including a toy. I will come again. Parking is an issue especially as now an air bnb opposite. Says in blurb parking in front of property but it was never free. Plus sometimes tricky getting through gate as cars are parked so close. I luckily had parking at my parents who live up the road but would have annoyed me if this wasn’t the case. There is other parking in village so not sure why peopl...more
Excellent experience last year so decided to spend another week at the same cottage. The location is prime as are the transport links if you don’t fancy driving. Excellent walks nearby and fabulous places to eat. Would recommend Chinty’s for breakfast/ brunch followed by a walk to Castle Head for an amazing view.
This was our second stay at Gretaside and I have to say that the weather blessed us yet again ! The central location was very suitable to us as we have a dog, just around the corner from the park for morning and evening walks. Everything in the apartment was clean and little extra's left for us in the new updated kitchen was very welcome.
We felt at home and relaxed at this excellently located and well appointed cottage. We were near the grocery and bus station. The staff at Keswick Cottages was reliably helpful and friendly beginning in the initial reservation process and extending through out stay. 11 Howrah’s Ct was quiet and homey. The property is near the Rugby Club, but we enjoyed the sounds of practice and the one game that occurred while we were in residence.
Pinecroft is a lovely property, beautifully furnished & very comfortable. Excellent location for walking into Keswick. Would definitely book again
Weekend spent with my family and young child for my 30th birthday weekend. I can’t recommend Keswick Cottages enough, from the minute I booked they were welcoming, gave clear instructions and couldn’t do enough for us. The process of checking in was brilliant with the parking available and the location of the house itself outstanding in the heart of Keswick walking distance to the High Street. The house itself was very clean and perfect for the weekend we wanted. All my family loved it and we will definitely be booking again in the future
Second time at the property and every bit as good as the first. Excellent area for taking off boots and walking gear, the property is comfortable, well equipped and furnished to a high standard. A central location accessed from the rear with free parking (note this is a 2 minute walk but we were able to unload/load on our arrival/departure outside). Beds were great, slept so well! Having a bathroom per 2 bedrooms on same floor as them is a plus. The only negatives are the flights of stairs, which could be an issue for some, and a general smell of food from the cafe below which permeated to ...more
Stayed for 2 nights in Shelley Cottage. Great location and Keswick is my favourite place in the lakes. We had great weather and the garden was lovely with the summer house that is a real sun trap. Views from the Cottage are stunning.
A clean, comfortable house in a quiet location but only a short walk away from the town centre and restaurants, shops etc. The welcome pack was a nice touch, and particularly welcomed by our four-legged friend! Just a few minor issues: - the kitchen door doesn't close securely, so our small dog could easily push it open. The sneck needs adjust. - the stair 'gate' seems past its best. It was tricky to operate and the lock released only after several tries. - whilst it wasn't the weather for sitting out, the outside area, including the small yard, could do with a general clean-u...more
Fellseekers cottage is in a great location. car parking is a bit tight but manageable. We really enjoyed our stay. Thankyou.
A cosy, convenient and comfortable cottage. Carefully maintained, warm and welcoming, we have visited regularly for several years. Highly recommended.
Enjoyed our break at stickel tarn the apartment is in a great location with the benefit of an allocated parking bay.The beds are very comfortable and the living room is bright and airy and the views of the hills are great. The only downside to the apartment is iff you are old and not very good with stairs it wouldn’t be for you.The smart tv was good as Netflix and prime were available to use when chilling out after a hard days walking. We have over the years stayed in many cottages and apartments in Keswick and would rate this as one of the best.
The location was ideal and it was of reasonable value for the 5 of us. I love sitting out on the balcony in an evening. This is the 4th year we have stayed in the cottage because we have always been satisfied up until now. Sadly the house is in need of some TLC. The tiles in the bathroom were held on with duct tape, not ideal, and I would say that it needs a deep clean. Skirting boards were covered in dust, the small chest of drawers in the single room had juice spilled down the front and was sticky and the inside of the front living room window was covered in fingerprints. The drawers’ inter...more
Sams cottage suited our needs. My wife uses a wheelchair quite a lot of the time. The property has wide doors and grab bars in the spacious bathroom. The town centre location is ideal, providing easy access to shops and amenities. The only minor criticism would be the location of the TV, it's as far away from the seating area as I could be. Access to the parking area would be a problem for larger cars. Otherwise a great little cottage in a great location.
A lovely cottage in a handy location close to the town centre. Parking 300 yards away so difficult to unload and load up as double yellow lines outside. Internally very nice and a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. All in all highly recommended but be aware of the parking issue.
The position of the house was brilliant for access to Keswick and the Northern Fells. It's situated in a quiet private road near the Farmers Arms, a warm and friendly pub with good grub!! I was a little disappointed though on arrival as the and itpet friendly policy of the owners was obviously evident as soon as I opened the door. Although the cleaners had done a great job, there is little they could of done to mask the scent of a pet or two, I suspect, and it took a considerable airing and a fair amount of masking with scented air-fresheners and copious amounts of odour-fighting sprays to...more
Enjoyed our stay, (4 adults) plenty of space and very handy for the town. Downstairs bedroom is handy for those who can't manage the stairs but the bed is very creaky.
Overall we had a good week at Cragside Cottage, right beside a crag with sheep grazing. Lovely open-plan living area and large Smart TV which the grandchildren loved. Modern kitchen, but could have done with slightly smaller dinner plates which actually fitted in the dishwasher and pans which weren’t so heavy. We had been assured the patio area would be fenced off by the time we went, but there was nowhere to sit out at all. But it was in a good setting, very easy to park and handy for a number of beauty spots.
Very nice cottage, excellent location for local walks and village amenities. Pub opposite very good for meals and drinks.
Brandlehow is the perfect place to relax and refuel. The location is superb, nestled in the woodlands and on the shores of Derwentwater. Most days began with a coffee overlooking the lake, watching the sunrise and the cloud disperse. Beautiful walks from the doorstep and of course a lot of kayaking right from the door. The water levels were incredibly high when we arrived so couldn't make the best use of the launches as we have in the past but enjoyed a trip later in the week. The footpath that runs adjacent to the garden is really only busy around lunchtime as it is midway round the lake...more
