We have stayed in many places in Keswick and surrounding areas but Catbells definitely tops them all! A fabulous apartment with a beautifully thought out interior and views from every window. We loved it! Super comfy and warm, with everything you need, plus allocated parking. We would love to stay here again. Thank you Keswick Cottages.
Two Chimneys cottage was absolutely perfect, it had everything we needed, with extras. Lovely welcome gifts for us and the dog. It was immaculate and very cosy and comfortable. Location was excellent, walks near by and a short 10 miles n stroll into town. Thank you and we will definitely stay again when visiting Keswick.
Just enjoyed our second visit to Mill house. Visits 3 and 4 already booked. Lovely house in a beautiful location.
I stayed with my two sisters for 4 nights in September. The house was clean, comfortable and very spacious. All 3 double bedrooms were large. Having two bathrooms (plus an additional toilet!) was great. The furnishings and decor were lovely, giving the house a cosy, welcoming feel. It was much better equipped than many holiday lets, in terms of crockery, kitchen equipment, books, sound system etc. The glimpses from upper windows of Skiddaw and other hills was nice. The backyard is quite functional, but was pleasant for sitting out in the sun in the evening. It's just a 5 minute walk to the tow...more
Enjoyed a v cosy stay in Azalea and it was an ideal location - central yet really quiet. The property had nearly everything we needed and bed was extremely comfortable. I know it's old fashioned, but as big tea drinkers, we missed a tea cosy . The sofas with electronic footrests and charging points were a welcome novelty.
I really don’t want to write a review because then everyone else will know about this place , Fantastic , immaculate , really well equipped house , I was a bit worried not having a garden with 3 dogs but the park being 30 seconds walk away made up for that. Parking was free and a minutes walk away as was the town centre. We had a minor issue with the dishwasher , I let Keswick cottages know , more for the next guest and they had someone there within the hour to fix it . Can’t recommend the Eyrie or Keswick cottages enough , We will be back
We had a relaxing week in this charming, peaceful property. Even though the weather was snowy and bitterly cold we were cosy and slept very well in the very comfortable bed. Lovely walks along the lake from the door. Close to Keswick yet rural, with splendid views from the kitchen/dining area and lounge.
Absolutely perfect! - Location - Comfort - Cleanliness - Communication - Equipment - Parking space - Heating We hope to return (minus the rain) ... but then we knew what we were letting ourselves in for in February I suppose. Can't recommend enough and have shared with all my friends too!
Absolutely beautiful property. Every possible need catered for. Beds very comfy, showers amazing ! Dog free, so lovely to have very comfortable lounge furniture ( not leather ) would certainly come again. One problem might be if a future party arrived with 2 cars. Not enough room on drive.
Booked with Keswick Cottages via telephone two weeks prior to a four night visit. Both Caysie and Sarah were most helpful and informative making my booking easy. Farmers Retreat is ideally located in Keswick and just a pleasant short walk through Fitz park to the town. The property is comfortable, well equipped and maintained with everything you need. Parking being a bonus. Most enjoyable stay and would revisit again.
We really enjoyed our time at Mountain View. Didn’t have the best view of the mountain down to the low clouds but when it did appear it was beautiful. The apartment was pretty much perfect. Supplied everything you could possibly need and everything was straightforward easy to use. Shower was lovely hot and powerful after a day of walking round the lakes in the cold and wet great to come back to a warm cosy apartment and relax on the super comfy settee. Round the corner literally from shops bars and restaurants great location.
The bungalow is well located with stunning views front and back and just 15 minutes walk into town. Very cosy and warm, there was ample hot water. The beds were very comfortable, with nice linen and a good supply of towels. There's a lovely garden to the rear of the property.
Very good as last year but not enough mugs and smaller bowls provided, also some written instructions for equipment.
Lovely cottage, every thing done very well and to high spec. Comfortable and well thought out. Only quibbles are having to adjust the heating constantly if you're not out all day ( not likely in February) and would have liked instructions on how the locks work! It was a bit hit and miss to get it right, not ideal if there was an emergency.
Cottage was beautiful but heating was a terrible just warm so at night we were really cold outside is not as pretty as pictured bins weeds not very clean and the parking was a nightmare y husband had to climb in the passenger side to get into the car saying all this the cottage was lovely but we would not return
Been staying at Bridge House with a group of friends for many years as part of our annual excursion. Why do we go back to the same place you might ask? Because we have confidence Bridge House always delivers. A great location with a 2-minute walk into Keswick which has so much to offer, and by far the best town in the Lake District. Generous and allocated parking spaces for each property. 5 star spacious excellent accommodation and with a regular refurbishment programme. Finally great customer service from the staff at Keswick Cottages.
We have stayed in many places in Keswick and this wonderful flat is certainly up there with the best. The location for an out of season visit is superb. Very close to all of the local amenities with beautiful views towards the fells from the upstairs rooms. The flat was spotlessly clean, well equipped, and always warm. An idea location with options for many walks straight from the door or only a few minutes drive away. We can highly recommend The Fell Pack, The Square Orange and LRB for delicious reasonably priced meals. We only have one small gripe. The double bed. The mattress was a l...more
We or our family have used this apartment on several occasions and everytime we have been delighted with the location, facilities, cleanliness and the little touches that make you feel welcome on arrival. Keswick Cottages always achieve the highest standards in all their properties that we have used. This one is suitable for family groups with good sized bedrooms and excellent showers, en-suite etc. Its location is perfect for access to central Keswick and down to the Lake and having two allocated private car parking spaces avoids all the hassle and cost of parking in the heart of the town. Second time we have stayed in this wonderful Bungalow. Just one thing, need more clean towels, one set not enough for a week otherwise everythng has been thought of and is great
Everything from booking process (speaking to a real person) to the stay was F-A-N-T-A-B-U-L-O-U-S. What a brilliant wee bolthole for 2, and as central to the town square as you could possibly be (about 30 steps away). Everything in the accommodation was of high quality, well laid out and a lovely wee surprise card and bottle of sparkly for my 60th from the agent - lovely. The car parking space was right across the road and an easy hop with the bags, and even more appreciated when leaving (with much more than we arrived with due to an array of shopping). Absolutely no downsides and no suggestio...more
Would stay again the owners could put up a small trellis up on the left outside wall to have stopped our dogs going to visit the other cottages next to Lydia’s,lucky that no one was staying in the cottage next door, also a lot of people don’t like dogs, nice decor, lovely warm and comfortable, shower very large and plenty of hot water,we think the double bed needs to be in the front bedroom and the twin beds in the back,so close to the town,we had a very comfortable and a sunny week thankyou in Lydia’s cottage and we would recommend to family and friends as also parking for 2 cars what more could...more
Excellent flat, which had everything we needed including a parking space. Very central to shops & pubs and local walks. Definitely be back.
Wonderful apartment very homely and comfortable will definitely be back it’s one of our favourites have stayed in Skiddaw skies many times over the years.
Ellergill is a lovely property, very well equipped for our large party. It is in a great location, second time we’ve all stayed here.
We had 5 days at Swallows Lodge & the accommodation is first class. Cosy, warm & spotless. I honestly can't think of anything that could be improved. Excellent quality of furnishings. Comfortable bed, fully equipped kitchen including washing machine & drier, which we did use due to the weather being wet at times. Amazing views of Derwentwater & hills & enclosed garden which our dog loved. Would highly recommend & we will definitely be visiting again in the future.
Well placed for a walk into Keswick, or escaping into the hills! Clean and comfortable and worked well for two teenagers and a toddler. Quiet location and some nice views, lovely secluded garden. Would happily stay here again.
We were a family of 6 adults (3 couples) with dogs spending Xmas day in the Lakes. Firstly the drive was huge so no problem with parking and the check in instructions were clear and simple. Three bedrooms was a godsend for us! The house has everything we could have needed for our stay, including a really well stocked kitchen for us to prepare Xmas dinner Also the pub around the corner was nice after a long walk. Took us around half hour to walk in to Keswick. The biscuits and prosecco were a lovely touch but the dog gift boxed were the very best!! We loved our stay, thank you
We loved the cottage, amazing views, very comfortable with loads of parking. The bungalow is very spacious, loved the Love Seat room. Short drive into lovely Keswick town centre We had an amazing stay and love the Lake District.
We have stayed in Keswick many times and in lots of different properties. Red Robin is in an excellent location, quiet and peaceful. This property was well appointed especially if you were self catering like we were with a young family. The only moan and this is for all holiday properties ,is the waste bins. Where we live we have bins for all recycling and find it really saddening that we can’t recycle as well while we are on holiday . We know there are recycling points in the town, but it’s something we don’t want to waste our precious days doing. Moan over, we had a lovely time.
The apartment is very well located, just a short minute's walk from shops and amenities, with the added bonus of 2 allocated car parking spaces. The apartment is very spacious, very well appointed and beautifully clean. Our only issue was with the traffic noise from the main road right outside the 2 front bedrooms which meant sleep was at a premium, and there was very little soundproofing from the apartment above. Shame because it really is a great apartment.
This is now our 2nd stay at 5 the townhouse and cant wait to return in December it has everything you need for a stay in keswick. The cleanliness is spot on . The location is great literally a 2 min walk into town beautiful views either side of the property. Riva even knows where's she staying when we visit Keswick . Everyone at keswick cottages are helpful thanks to sarah hogarth again and all the team there's only one thing wrong and that's the leaving . Thank you for another fantastic stay Ethel ian and riva See you in December
Excellent location we had issues with the sofas they were very uncomfortable they really need to be replaced other than that everything else was fine
We booked Greta House via Keswick Cottages after arriving in Keswick to our AirBnB property which wasn’t as described. We called Keswick Cottages at 4pm on Friday and were in the property by 5.30pm. Greta House is lovely. Really well designed with a great use of space. Everything is well kept and maintained. The thing that makes the property so special though is the garden. It backs directly onto the river, is well designed with comfortable furniture and a BBQ. We were able to sit outside by the river due to the sunny weather. Our dog loved the space too. As a few people have ...more
Sheepfold Barn was the perfect location for my weekend with friends! It's rural location gave us the peace we all wanted and privacy to use the hot tub without concerns about people looking. It is located at the end of farm track but despite the recent wet weather it wasn't too muddy and was easy to navigate. It's interiors are to die for and the house is well stocked with everything you could need, we all came away wishing we could live there full time! Only issue was the heating wasn't working while we were there, which took us a bit of time to work out as the house was cosy when we came in ...more
Our second stay at Alisons Cottage. Great location and very cosy. Garage a huge bonus. A great place to stay & staff at Keswick Cottages very friendly & helpful.
Great apartment, very well equipped and in a good location. We have been staying at Bridgehouse Apartments for several years and have never been disappointed.
Accommodation clean and tidy. Keys a little hard to find at the beginning for entry as there are many 'front porches'. In a nice area with mountain views and easy access to Whinlatter and Keswick and surrounding area.
Lovely property in quiet location …………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
Our 10th visit to this lovely bungalow in a wonderful location with glorious views. Spacious bedrooms both of which are en-suite. Good sized kitchen with utility room at the rear of the property. Lovely lounge with gorgeous views. Can't fault it!
We have become creatures of habit, staying at Fairbank for the third year in a row. It has everything we need in terms of being a delightful cottage with all the facilities we need, nicely furnished (plenty of wardrobe space) decorated and excellent heating and hot water which is a must in February. Its located directly opposite Fitz Park and the river so it has a beautiful view from the kitchen and master bedroom. For us its brilliant for taking the dogs out especially for a quick walk first thing in the morning and last thing at night! Fairbank is just a 5 minute walk from Keswick Town, w...more
We have stayed in several apartments in this area and this is one of the best. All ground floor with private terrace outside (which we couldn't use unfortunately as we had a very wet week in February!) The house was warm, the beds comfortable and the bathroom was very good. Hall space very useful for coats and boots. Comfort rated only 3 as the two settees were very soft and low (for three 80 year olds) and the booster cushions provided unfortunately didn't make them more comfortable. The lounge area was quite small but OK for two or three people. The location is very convenient for parking ...more
A lovely cottage set in the heart of Braithwaite. Lovely views of the hills and woodland from the garden and very quiet and peaceful. We had everything we needed and everything was very comfortable. A very modern feel to the property and and lovely deep bath with plenty of warm water for baths and showers. We did have a problem getting the heating to come on but as it wasn’t particularly cold it wasn’t a huge issue though the towel rail didn’t come on all week. We had the log wood burner when it got a little chilly. A well equipped kitchen with everything we needed when we cooked. A very plea...more
Lovely cosy cottage. Perfect location with everything easily accessible with lots of walks for the dog from the door. Car didn't move from our allocated parking spot for the duration of our stay. Super comfy bed. Fully equipped kitchen. Really enjoyed our stay and hope to return.
Greta Howe is a lovely property in a perfect location. Just a small tip for future guests, I’d avoid putting the washing machine on before bed, as when it goes into the spin cycle the vibrations travel through the property and can wake you up. We’d definitely consider booking again. The staff at Keswick Cottages were superb as well, I phoned them twice before our visit and they were really helpful both times. Thankyou.
Lovely cottage, very comfortable, well presented and equipped. We will check Tawny Cottage availability first when next visiting the Lakes.
Bridge Mews is a lovely, comfortable property in an ideal location, a few minutes walk from the centre of Keswick, with Booths supermarket just round the corner and the Coop across the road. We love the on-site parking and the enclosed lawned garden, which is ideal for our dog. We have now stayed here twice and will certainly be back.
Lovely bedrooms and lounge Surface clean only. Great location.Disgusting toilet brushes. Fridge far too small for 8 people. Kitchen needs attention. Heating either freezing or boiling coming on at odd times one day it was -4 and didn’t come on until 9am so house was very cold. Expected higher standard for the price. Other issues too. Would not recommend or stay again unless changes made. Feedback sent to company 2 days ago with no response as yet.
The lords seat was a lovely place to stay, very comfortable and clean. Great location with amazing views. Nice to have the extras like the dvds and games. The only disappointing thing was the water going off (ironic in the lake district) but obviously not your fault. The only thing that would have helped is instructions on a couple of things. We struggled with the hob as it clicks off every time we put the pan on and hadnt used that sort of hob before so took a while to figure it out. It was a lovely place to stay. Thank you for letting us stay there.
Loved bridge cottage. This place has everything you ever need. Fire is beautiful and the main shower is absolutely delightful. The location is second to none.
A lovely apartment in a great location just opposite fitz park. Kitchen was a little compact but would definitely stay here again!
Easy to book a last minute getaway over the phone. Shortly after payment we received an email confirming the booking and providing full details of the property, key safe number, location etc. The property is very spacious, well-equipped, comfortable and quiet. Parking space in Keswick a great bonus, and location is very central, just a couple of minutes walk away from the centre of town. We would certainly stay here again next time we visit the lake District, and would recommend the property to family and friends. Thank you.
Lovely house for a weeks stay in Keswick. Plenty room for all of us which included 4 kids and a dog. Very clean and well equipped. We had a couple of small issues which were resolved very quickly after contacting the office. Would use this property again
Accommodation is of a very high standard and location excellent. I would definitely recommend, and will book again next time we visit Keswick.
Beautiful apartment, lovely furnishings and great central location. Our only complaint was we couldn’t get the oven to work, it definitely needs replacing as seems a bit old.
Another visit to Quaver Cottage - lost count of the times we’ve been here. Beautifully clean as usual. A real home from home. Love Keswick although even wetter than usual! Thank you to the owners and Keswick Cottages who always provide an excellent service.
Spacious property, within walking distance of town. Did report that bins were overflowing outside with black bags piled high both on the floor and on top of the bins on two occasions (appeared bins had not been cleared for weeks). Some areas of 5he property were a little dusty otherwise clean. The kitchen is rather small for a property of its size making it a bit difficult to have more than one person using it at a time, and bath a bit tight to get in/out of. Beds comfy.
The cottage is very comfortable and has every facility for a great short break in Keswick. Very well equipped and spotlessly clean. The drying area in the shower bathroom came in handy for the wet weather. 2 minutes from main street with both supermarkets within 100yards. Will definitely visit again. As previously stated by others the car parking space is small but right outside the door.
The Cottage was ideally located for lots of adventures and had a very homely feel. The Cottage has the benefit of off road parking and because there are really good amenities in Braithwaite together with the fabulous walks from the door ranging from a Wainwright to a gentle stroll around the village we didn't use the car. We particularly enjoyed the walk up Barrow and Outerside with our dog Toby. I'm sure we will be staying again.
Booked online at very short notice and received confirmation almost immediately. Keswick Cottages provide comprehensive details of checking in, key safe number, wifi code, recommendations for things to do etc. They are very helpful when contacted by phone with any questions we had. This was our second visit to Elm Cottage and was equally enjoyable; it is clean, spacious, comfortable, well-equipped and very quiet. A reserved car parking space right outside the cottage is an added bonus. We have stayed in several properties in Keswick and this would be always our first choice if available for ...more
Cottage was well presented and clean. Nice and warm with good bathroom and comfortable beds. Access and parking a bit tight but manageable.
3rd time staying here. Spacious, well equipped and furnished place. Great central location and easy (provided) parking. Log fire was very cosy.
We had a very enjoyable stay at Rosebank the place was immaculate. The little touches of fresh flowers , welcome pack for us and our dog was very much appreciated. Even hand wash in both bathrooms and kitchen we usually take our own as none usually provided , plenty of dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid everything thought of . Kitchen was well equipped , comfortable beds and plenty hot water . We loved seeing the wide variety of birds that visited the garden especially the pheasants. The views beautiful and plenty of walks straight from the door
Had a lovely stay with fab views over the fells. Cozy fire and living room. Will definitely becoming back. Thanks again for a great stay
Amazing cottage in the centre of Keswick, finished to a very high standard. The bed was really comfy, just what was needed after exploring the surrounding area. The bathroom was very roomy and the shower (both waterfall and rainfall settings) was fabulous. Millie the cockapoo especially enjoyed her welcome gift, a lovely personal touch.
Absolutely fantastic property, so comfortable and spacious with allocated parking. Has everything you want, I think the fact we extended our stay by 2 days says it all. Keswick Cottages provided excellent customer service as always.
Very cosy (with the log burner), a great location with many local walks and well equiped. Thanks for the dog welcome pack.
The apartment was conveniently situated, well equipped, and warm. There was an issue with a towel rail not well fixed to the wall, one of the drawers was awkward to use and the single beds needed mattress toppers, in my view. Having said that I would definitely recommend the property for a stay in Keswick
Absolutely perfect for 2 people and our dog. Very modern, comfortable and clean. Car parking at the front and 5 mins walk to centre of Keswick.
This is the second time we've stayed at Byways. We originally stayed in March 2014 and we returned this past week. The cottage has been refurbished since we last stayed with gorgeous furnishings and a wonderful power shower. It is lovely and comfortable and is a home from home. The cottage is in an ideal position within Keswick only a 10 minute walk from the centre of town. The addition of a garden was great for our dog. We had a wonderful stay and will be back, our only comment would be that after 17 years of staying in Keswick in multiple self catering accommodations, the lack of esse...more
Lovely, well appointed property in central Keswick with easy access to the town centre. Since the property is split over three levels there are plenty of stairs, but if you don't mind that the views are great.
We booked a last minute stay at the Fellseeker and contacted the team directly to help with booking as we were looking for a dog friendly property. All of the booking team could not have been more helpful, excellent communication from the staff, who immediately sent over all booking information and directions to the property. On arrival at the property, it was lovely inside and very clean. The location is excellent. I would definitely book here again and could not recommend it enough! Thank you for a wonderful stay.
The property is in an excellent location. Communication with Keswick cottages prior to our arrival and the information provided is also excellent. We were a party of ten and the accommodation was spacious enough for us all. The bedrooms are all a really good size and generally everyone agreed the beds and pillows were all comfortable. The bed on the 3rd floor was in need of some attention as it was a metal bed that was squeaky and had a lot of movement in the frame. The kitchen is well equipped - I was able to cook a Christmas dinner for 10! The only negatives are when using the bathroom on ...more
Lovely cottage a short walk from the main attractions of Keswick. We were staying for work just for 2 nights. The cottage was cosy, really well presented and very comfortable. We brought our dogs - this was a cottage that said it was dog friendly and actually was! Dog bowls available for borrowing and little doggie welcome packs! We would definitely return.
The location was ideal and it was of reasonable value for the 5 of us. I love sitting out on the balcony in an evening. This is the 4th year we have stayed in the cottage because we have always been satisfied up until now. Sadly the house is in need of some TLC. The tiles in the bathroom were held on with duct tape, not ideal, and I would say that it needs a deep clean. Skirting boards were covered in dust, the small chest of drawers in the single room had juice spilled down the front and was sticky and the inside of the front living room window was covered in fingerprints. The drawers’ inter...more
We had a wonderful stay in Shelley Cottage, great location, comfortable and incredible views! Very comfortable and relaxing, just off the main road but still felt peaceful! we enjoyed the garden as well!
Wonderful few days away in Coleridge Cottage. Location was perfect with parking just a short walk away. I didn’t use the car once while here. An abundance of walks right from the doorstep. Although the property is on a main road into Keswick it was so quiet and peaceful. Just a five minute stroll into town centre. Everything about the property was excellent except that with one shower and toilet upstairs and one toilet downstairs, it might have been a bit difficult with a family or group staying there. Communication with Keswick Cottages was excellent. All information given before an...more
perfect location wonderful views close to all amenities everything you need for your stay modern and clean and tidy quiet area of keswick and to top it all a hot tub BRILLIANT LOVED IT.
We are an active 70+ couple who have visited the Lakes for 30+ years. On arrival the keysafe proved too difficult to open and after 30 mins of fruitless attempts a call to the office for assistance in gaining access was necessary. The issue was resolved quickly in a most friendly manner. Once inside a couple of minor maintenance issues were identified (these things happen) but again, these were soon resolved. Sams Cottage is well equipped for a comfortable self-catering break for up to 3 people, disabled or otherwise. Access to Bakers Yard is down a short but very narrow lane with high w...more
The house is kept beautifully clean. Views from it are mind blowingly fabulous. Needs more hanging space in the bathroom and unfortunately there was a smashed window covered in cardboard in the front hall that I was not informed about. Other than that, just a beautiful home from home and an incredible team at Keswick Cottages!! If you’re thinking about booking with them…just book…right now!!
Enjoyed our stay, (4 adults) plenty of space and very handy for the town. Downstairs bedroom is handy for those who can't manage the stairs but the bed is very creaky.
Overall we had a good week at Cragside Cottage, right beside a crag with sheep grazing. Lovely open-plan living area and large Smart TV which the grandchildren loved. Modern kitchen, but could have done with slightly smaller dinner plates which actually fitted in the dishwasher and pans which weren’t so heavy. We had been assured the patio area would be fenced off by the time we went, but there was nowhere to sit out at all. But it was in a good setting, very easy to park and handy for a number of beauty spots.
Brandlehow is the perfect place to relax and refuel. The location is superb, nestled in the woodlands and on the shores of Derwentwater. Most days began with a coffee overlooking the lake, watching the sunrise and the cloud disperse. Beautiful walks from the doorstep and of course a lot of kayaking right from the door. The water levels were incredibly high when we arrived so couldn't make the best use of the launches as we have in the past but enjoyed a trip later in the week. The footpath that runs adjacent to the garden is really only busy around lunchtime as it is midway round the lake...more
Two separate electrical faults. One caused a flame to shoot out the wall melting the wires in the kitchen socket, the other melted the wires in the immersion heater meaning no hot water for several days. A door fell off in the kitchen, and the upstairs landing storage heater wires had been cut and disconnected so it was freezing upstairs at night. I was told by the electrician that came out several times that the owner of the property liked to ‘tinker’ with the electrics hence the botched up and dangerous wiring. I was also told the owner was very tight and wouldn’t spent money on the plac...more
