Hut is fantastic with everything you need. Great location in a very peaceful area. Hosts are amazing!
We stayed here as a large family group of three generations. Everyone was enchanted by the character of the house, with all the quirky art, the fantastic main staircase and so much space. There are so many living rooms on the ground floor that it was easy for different groups to find their own quiet space when wanted. The kitchen/dining area was perfect for large sociable meals, and was very well equipped. The bedrooms were spacious and beds extremely comfortable, so much so I had to check out the brand of mattresses! The children enjoyed the playroom and the outside space, and the grownups ...more
A beautiful and well stocked home for a delightful stay in the New Forest. Every member of the family (baby, children, adults and dog) was considered in this property. A wonderful cupboard of children/baby toys and books. A welcome pack for both humans and dogs was a lovely touch. We loved watching the horses and cows walk past the front window. It’s a short walk to the local village where we found a lovely bakery, dog shop, tea rooms, Tesco express and fish and chip shop. There’s so much more there, but this is what we used. A superb stay in a place that felt home from home. Thank you! High...more
This is a fantastic place to stay with beautiful gardens. It has large rooms, high ceilings and good views.
Perfectly positioned property for exploring lymington. Has everything that you need, so handy that there was hand wash, washing up liquid, tea/ coffee and left a pint a milk in the fridge! The property was spotless and bed very comfortable! It's positioned right on the cobbles which is bustling in the summer months. Visited the isle of Wight, the nature reserve and many pubs in the village during my visit and certainly recommend smugglers retreat for a cosy place to stay.
This is a lovely property set right in the heart of Lymington. The living space is excellent for hanging out in and the bedrooms are all very comfortable. I would highly recommend this property to anyone who wishes to have a relaxing weekend away in a beautiful town.
We stayed at Swallows cottage for five nights in September. I couldn’t fault the accommodation- very comfortable beds with good quality bed linen and towels. Excellently equipped kitchen, plenty of everything if you plan to cook. Four good sized bedrooms. The area is quiet, residential, but easy walking to the marina, a bit further to get into town. The only thing lacking is some curtains for the patio windows- it felt a bit exposed at night. I can definitely recommend this property and would stay here again.
Superb accommodation pristine throughout, ideal location for local pubs walks and restaurants, Would recommend for a family get together, the children loved it too
The Nest is a fantastic place right in the heart of Brockenhurst. It’s cosy, got everything you need including some board games. We made the most of scrabble! The place is so accessible to the village and seeing all the ponies, donkeys and cows roaming about. The location is great as a base for visiting Lyndhurst, Lymington and further down the coast like Bournemouth. Would fully recommend to anyone and can’t wait to visit again!
Saltwood really lived up to all our expectations! From the decor to the location to the ambience. A lovely spacious and comfortable apartment in a great location. The hosts were superb providing us with a welcome cake and other goodies and were always happy to help with anything we needed. I couldn’t have wished for a better way to spend my big birthday with my family. Even the weather was super on the day bright sunshine and very warm. We will definitely return. Milford has great restaurants and cafes and pubs a really good find!
Everything one needs for a lovely holiday in the New Forest. So peaceful and quiet considering it was a bank holiday weekend Clean, comfortable and plenty of room for everyone
Perfect little spot in the new forest, the Shepard's hut is well laid out and makes for the perfect new forest experience, all added to by the hidden sauna. Facilities are nice, toilet being separate is not an issue, and the little private garden is so peaceful and relaxing.
We had a very pleasant week at Treetops. Deceptively large, light airy rooms, all amenities and very nice welcome pack. Comfy beds. The outdoor space is especially pleasant with lots of trees and birds singing, front and back. The decking is enormous and a sun trap, great for sun bathing, relaxing, al fresco dining and barbecues. The owner (Vivek) was in contact before, during and after to make certain everything going smooth and with recommendations. The location is ideal for exploring the New Forest, visited Burley, Mudeford, Lymington and Poultons Park. All in all a great holiday, woul...more
Ideally situated for a great stay for all ages, we had an amazing few days with the family. We would definitely recommend this property.
The location was very convenient. The property was lovely, great cooking facilities and excellent decor. We enjoyed our stay. The only slight inconvenience was needing to use the parking clock to park in the long stay car park around the corner but we were prepared for this and it wasn't a big problem. Customer service was great as we needed to arrange an extra night's stay last minute and this was handled quickly when I messaged on WhatsApp.
We were a party of three related families. The accommodation was wonderful and James gave us a warm friendly greeting on arrival. The location stunning where we were able to enjoy the local places of interest. The house was very comfortable and offered entertainment for children and adults. Would definitely recommend staying at Broombank if considering visiting the New Forest.
a beautiful property, the seaside just across the road, the property was very well maintained. I would highly recommended this lovely holiday home
Fantastic house . Bedrooms are super comfortable, Best equipped kitchen ever ! Has everything you could need . Great dining room and TV room . The outdoor space is large and great for games . The added little touches of toiletries, and milk, tea coffee and wine etc made it extra special.
A great house - full of tasteful decor and very comfortable. Great living room and a beautiful kitchen. Upstairs three very nice bedrooms, one ensuite. It's located in a quiet cul-de-sac running parallel to the High Street, with a cut-through that takes you right to the front door of the local M&S Food Hall, and only moments away from Waitrose. There's a nice small courtyard with a table and chairs that is not overlooked. Only one very minor gripe: The driveway is a little narrow (or maybe my car is a little wide!)
Excellent place to stay.! Dog friendly , Peaceful, private and clean.village is very cute plenty of places to see very close by .
The cottage was modern with a cozy feel and was very dog friendly. It is very comfortably equipped and has lovely en-suites to each bedroom. It is in an excellent location within walking distance to Burley village but very quiet in a private road in the heart of the New Forest where we had horses and deer visiting us at the end of the drive. The grounds of the cottage were beautifully kept and a joy to quietly sit out under the covered seating area whilst listening to the birds and enjoying our morning coffee. Sadly we didn’t use the hot tub due to the inclement weather although as there was s...more
Gorgeous stylish house with everything you need (and more) for a very relaxing break. Very comfortable beds, excellent shower and bathroom, superbly equipped kitchen/diner, lovely garden and BBQ - what more to say! Everything sparkling clean too. Shops including a good Waitrose and town centre on the doorstep and not far to beaches or forest walks. Restaurants and pubs nearby but we preferred using the garden and dining facilities to go out much in the evening!
We had no car so Victory Cottage was perfect for our needs. Close to the station and the high street with all its shops and restaurants. It is very well equipped and very clean. The owners have thought of everything for your comfort. We will be back!
We only stayed at Captains Keep for 2 nights, but would love to have stayed longer to fully appreciate the lovely house and the garden, with its amazing garden room. The house is very well equipped, with good quality furnishings and very comfortable beds. The living areas are set up well with spacious, practical, social seating. The only reason I have rated it 4 out of 5 stars for value for money, is due to the later check-in time of 4pm and the early check-out time. We had to be out by 10am, which spoilt having breakfast together, due to the rush in packing up and clearing everything out. An...more
The apartment is lovely, cosy and spacious. There was a great selection of snacks there and milk in the fridge was a nice touch. It’s a great location as it’s near the sea and the new forest. The directions were incorrect on the email we got sent so we got a bit lost but found it in the end. I think it should make it clear on the booking that this is like an annexe attached to someone’s house. The mat in the lounge is coming apart and leaves bits of it all over your feet etc. The kettle was full on scale and the toaster was filthy. But other than that we enjoyed our stay but think it was not v...more
We had a very relaxing stay at On The Rocks. We arrived in lovely sunshine, to find the house stunningly clean and tidy. There was everything we could have needed to make our stay stress free. The kitchen was fully equipped, the bedrooms comfortable , all with beautiful views. The living area has magnificent views over the sea, and the outside area just so very relaxing, you can just sit and watch the world walk by. Very tranquil.
It was a family get together of three generations and we all loved the house and the area. A lot of thought had gone into the design, also the kitchen was well equipped. It was just a perfect place to the spend the weekend and I’m sure we will be returning.
Had a lovely time in this beautiful property. Great space for all the family. Would definitely return. Small improvements to elevate could be better towels and pillows but that is a minor thing. Overall, fabulous. Thank you
The photos do not do this property justice. It's a beautiful house with everything you need for a perfect holiday. The hot tub, gym and games room provided that extra 'thing', especially for a family of 8. Combining this with lovely walks and pubs nearby, as well as a large number of 'attractions' so close, there was a lot to do. And amazing hosts too, so helpful. If there was anything we would change it would be to properly secure the property as our dogs did find some 'escape' areas. Just lovely.
Large luxury house in lovely location for everything Bournemouth has to offer. Nearest beach is particularly good for families too. Host was always helpful & contactable.
Very spacious and comfortable. Exceptionally well equipped. There is a big garden with plenty of outdoor seating.
We spent a very relaxing week in Moo Cottage. Such a beautiful location and property. Time to recharge the batteries of your soul. The nearness to nature and surrounding countryside was perfect. We spent time just sitting in the cottage and watching the wildlife, and walking around the grounds. Also visited surrounding area. Plenty of good places to eat. The accommodation was very comfortable. Just two points to mention that could be attended to , The toilet brushes and holders were not a pretty site. Quite a few cobwebs on all the windows and skylights. Otherwise a thoroughly pleasa...more
The main bedroom windows would not open as they were broken. Providing a fan which only circulates hot dry air is unsatisfactory. The weather was gloriously warm and the bedroom needs ventilation. The windows should have been replaced or repaired before allowing any new tenants in. I would expect to sleep in a bedroom with opening windows in warm weather and no prior notification of the problem was given to us. I would expect better for the rental.charged. Generally the carpets needed cleaning and some kitchen frying pans were unusable.
A lovely modern cottage in a nice village with great facilities. Well kept and spacious within 15 minutes of the coast. We would highly recommend.
We booked Little Nye alongside the main house Nye Creek. It was perfect extra space with easy access to the garden / hot tub / dining. Worth knowing that it is very close to the main house if you are booking separately. The bathroom for the main house is directly above Little Nye’s bedroom. Running showers and flushing toilets are quite loud. The bed in Little Nye is quite low and the bed is very firm. Very comfortable pillows and bedding. As a self-contained space, Little Nye has everything you need. Perfect location for the forest and the coast.
Fern Villa is exceptionally decorated, comfortably furnished and luxuriously equipped for a brilliant family stay. The fully enclosed rear garden is excellent for dogs and the outside lounging area lovely at night with fire pit under the stars. Amazing to see the local ponies, donkeys and horses wondering on the road out the front. A nice easy driving distance to the best beaches and walking trails right from Brockenhurst to explore.
Great cottage & location, very well equipped. NFE were great to work with, the booking was very smooth & good communication.
This was just right for our family group. Well-equipped. Well placed for short, level walks by the elderly and infirm but with longer options for the younger and fitter. However, my son-in-law, who is somewhat disabled , and I, age 92, had some accessibility problems particularly with the staircase. The handrail is too wide to be held securely. It would help to have an additional second handrail of a smaller diameter which could be fully grasped. It would also help if one of the upstairs toilets was adjacent to a wall to which a grab rail could be fixed, to help with sitting and standing...more
Excellent house for family break. Amazing facilities and a fantastic location. New Forest Escapes amazing service as always.
We wanted somewhere that was suitable for a family celebration that was both relaxing and comfortable for ages 10 to 80 in a quiet location and in this respect Valley View ticked all the boxes. We loved the cottage annex which proved very suitable for our group and which matched the quality of the main house in every respect. The location is amazing and the younger more able members of the family enjoyed taking advantage of the beautiful unspoilt surroundings and saying hello to the ponies and donkeys who were never far from our front gate! Sometimes descriptions and photos provided by holid...more
This was the perfect property for our much needed family break! We enjoyed the food at The Smugglers, The Lighthouse Cafe on the seafront and Mr Pink’s Fish and Chips, which were delicious! The Gun Inn was a welcoming local for drinks and food. Morning walks to The Coastal Bakery for lovely fresh bakes to accompany sausage and bacon from the Butchers on the Green is recommended!
We had a lovely week stay at Gins Barn. It is comfortable and spacious and in a great location. Holly and Julian could not have been more helpful and their dogs were very friendly! Sitting outside as the sun set by the river was a great end to the day.
Rowes Cottage is a peaceful well situated home from which to explore this beautiful area, or just relax in the quiet garden. My daughter was very grateful to gain permission to play the piano in the cottage. To make the place perfect and gain 5 stars all round, a blind or something on the kitchen windows to keep out the afternoon/evening sun and a shelf for toiletries in the shower would be great. Thank you
A cosy, well-equipped cottage perfect for a weekend stay with grown-up kids. Great location with easy access to the New Forest and the coast. Handy to be able to walk into the village for your everyday essentials and the train station.
We had a lovely time at Two Sides Cottage. Great size house and garden, and comfortably fit 8 of us. Lovely quiet location. You do need a car to get to places as rural location without any footpaths on the roads. The cottage had a really lovely feel to it and rustic charm. A highlight was hearing the owls at night and seeing a variety of birds in the morning.
I have given some consideration to writing this review as I have given detailed feedback to the lettings operator and have had a constructive exchange with Sarah who I imagine is senior in the company. I've given a 3 for customer service because some of it was exceptional, meriting a 5, but part of it much less so. I'm sorry I had to give a score at all as a 3 does not reflect either of these extremes. I booked the house for 5 nights from 1st October 2025 to accommodate 8 adults for a birthday celebration. The house itself is well presented but rather kitsch. Less kitsch and more basic esse...more
This is a lovely cottage and was an ideal location for exploring the New Forest and Solent coast. It’s very comfortable with everything that we needed. The town is full of great bars and places to eat. New Forest Escapes made every effort to check we were happy - a very nice touch.
We had a lovely stay at The Mews—such a peaceful retreat in a perfect location for exploring the New Forest by bike. The apartment was spotlessly clean, well equipped, and spacious enough for our family of four to relax comfortably. Everything felt thoughtfully arranged, making it easy to settle in and feel at home. Although the weather didn’t quite cooperate during our visit, the charming garden area with a BBQ looked ideal for sunny evenings—we’d love to return and make the most of it next time. Highly recommend for families looking for a quiet, well-located base to enjoy the New Forest.
Beautiful cottage with direct access into the forest. Thoughtful hamper on arrival and very friendly property manager gave us lots of ideas for walks. Great base to explore The New Forest
The property has well thought out facilities & a stylish decor but it is in desperate need of maintenance. The list of disappointing areas are extensive. Cleanliness - we could hear scuttling in the cavity walls each evening, we’re certain the property has mice and found what appeared to be mice droppings in one of the kitchen cupboards. The kitchen floors hadn’t been mopped, the floor under the outside dining area was filthy, underside of toilet seats stained yellow, frying pans that we hadn’t used smelt of fish, we’d little confidence that the cleanliness of the hot tub & pool water was be...more
The swimming pool was a lovely size in a lovely garden. We struggled with the downstairs bathroom shower which was low pressure and sometimes the power ceased altogether in the upstairs bathroom. There was an unsightly staining on the ceiling above the upstairs shower. There were not enough cereal bowls and dessert spoons for the 8 of us. The dishwasher filter was very dirty. The mugs on the shelf had unsightly tea stains which we had to hand wash to get clean. Generally felt that the bedroom curtains were rather dated and didn’t have blackout linings. It was very bright in the morning. The...more
Open plan living/dining/kitchen absolutely stunning. Hot tub amazing. Weather conditions stopped us using private slip way to the river which was a shame. Back garden beautiful. Front bedrooms could do with triple glazing as road noise can be heard. Bedroom 2 - en-suite bathroom needs updating to the same standard as others. White headboard in master bedroom is stained yellow with dust around bed base where the mattress sits needs hoovering. Plenty of parking for our 3 cars. A great weekend was had by everyone but with a few updates could be a 10/10.
Anoush is perfect for the most relaxing break. A well equipped tastefully decorated home from home with a lovely hot tub. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Anoush and cannot fault this beautiful home. Check-in was easy and we were comfortable throughout our stay. I don’t hesitate to recommend this property and would certainly stay again.
Chocolate box cottage with the most beautiful view! Wishing we had brought binoculars. We saw deer and of course the wild ponies and donkeys that have made the New Forest their own, so watch out! The inside of the cottage was lovely. However, the furniture in the living room was cramped and small. If you tend to spread out at home watching the telly you can't really do that here. The kitchen was well appointed. For guests that want to cook most meals, it is missing a 2nd skillet. Frying up potatoes and pan frying chicken does then require planning. The balcony was beautiful! What a view. A...more
First the positives: location is excellent, tranquil, great for sea wall walks but not too far to the high street. Booking process was seamless. The Boat House has a lovely garden and looks cute. However... the sofa bed is comfortable neither as a sofa or a bed. Everything is slightly down at heel. The floor is not particularly clean - my socks ended up filthy. If you are a biggish person, you won't be able to get into the shower (there's a fixed screen and a small space between it and the wall). The towel had seen better days. I think this is all somewhat reflected in the price - it is one...more
The location of Ashdale Cottage is lovely. The house and annexe could be better - we arrived to a blocked upstairs toilet with a plunger still in. The main upstairs bathroom hot tap was not working, this has clearly been an ongoing issue as there was a welcome card for a previous guest stating this issue (and that it would be fixed). The majority of beds were really uncomfortable especially the one above the kitchen (rock hard). The annexe smelt of damp so we chose not to use it. The main house smelt musty upstairs. There were dirty greasy oven dishes in the cupboard and the overall level ...more
