Spent 10 days here and had a fabulous time - absolutely loved our stay in the Cruck Cottage and the New Forest! The cottage is cosy, comfortable and well equipped. Loved the location and garden too. Thank you so much for the special touches such as dog biscuits, logs, and eggs. We really enjoyed the pub too, were lucky to have a band there on our last night! Our stay was perfect and will happily return to this lovely place! Thank you New Forest Escapes for finding us the right fit!
We stayed here as a large family group of three generations. Everyone was enchanted by the character of the house, with all the quirky art, the fantastic main staircase and so much space. There are so many living rooms on the ground floor that it was easy for different groups to find their own quiet space when wanted. The kitchen/dining area was perfect for large sociable meals, and was very well equipped. The bedrooms were spacious and beds extremely comfortable, so much so I had to check out the brand of mattresses! The children enjoyed the playroom and the outside space, and the grownups ...more
The stay was perfect! The hot tub was amazing. The hosts were great when we needed more logs and brought them straight away to our gate. Thank you for an amazing stay for new years and hopefully we will stay again.
Our second time at Seabiscuit property in Lymington and again - an amazing stay. The property is so warm and cosy with comfortable beds! Fully equipped kitchen and room for a large party to dine around the table. Great location in Lymington with 1 min walk to the high street / Market on Saturday. Covered parking space that is reserved for 1 x car for the property. We will be visiting again!
The service from New Forest Escapes was excellent from start to finish. Nothing seemed too much trouble and staff were always very polite, efficient and helpful. The property was delightful, stylish, comfortable and very interesting, with masses of space (we were a family group of 8 ranging in age from 3 years to 70) and lovely views across the grounds to the Solent. We loved all the artwork on the walls (most was for sale and much by Caroline and Nick de Rothschild, the property owners) and particularly enjoyed our visit to their Palais des Vaches art gallery a short drive from the rotun...more
We stayed here for my husbands 70th birthday with our son and daughter’s families. It was perfect for us all: an 8 week old baby, 4&6 year old grandchildren and 4 adults. We were so impressed with how spacious and well laid out the house was. Everything was so comfortable especially the sofa and beds. The kitchen is very well supplied - we had a chef cook for us on Friday and she found everything she needed very easily. We had a delicious lunch for 10 at the Haven Bar in full sunshine as recommended by Olivia. The house was cosy despite the freezing temperatures. Our 4 year old grandson l...more
We Stayed at MoonWood for the New Year celebration and my daughters birthday. We are a family of ten aged from one year old to 79 years old. A very comfortable home and the Spa Swimming tub was a great success.
Awesome place. So luxurious, peaceful a truely beautiful stay. We will be back and wish we could live there!
We stayed in Hayley and Herbert's flat because we had to move out of our nearby house due to building work, so we weren't really on holiday, but flat is so lovely it felt like a holiday! It's comfortable, very spacious and beautifully furnished, also well-equipped and spotlessly clean. It's also in the perfect location for enjoying Milford - a stone's throw away from the beach and close to lots of lovely cafes and restaurants. Hayley gave us a warm welcome and was helpful but not intrusive throughout our stay. And makes a lovely cake!
We had a very pleasant week at Treetops. Deceptively large, light airy rooms, all amenities and very nice welcome pack. Comfy beds. The outdoor space is especially pleasant with lots of trees and birds singing, front and back. The decking is enormous and a sun trap, great for sun bathing, relaxing, al fresco dining and barbecues. The owner (Vivek) was in contact before, during and after to make certain everything going smooth and with recommendations. The location is ideal for exploring the New Forest, visited Burley, Mudeford, Lymington and Poultons Park. All in all a great holiday, woul...more
amazing weekend, beautifully house and location with super views and walks. we will definitely be staying gain
Perfect in every way, quality appliances, beautifully decorated, great location and so cosy during a winter break 10/10
A very lovely apartment with everything you need to enjoy your break. Ideally located a few short steps from the high street on the ground floor makes this perfect for anyone with mobility issues. Some occasional noise from passing pedestrians as the bedroom window is right next to the pavement, but generally not an issue unless a very light sleeper. Had a small problem with the heating but this was highlighted and sorted by the owner so shouldn't be a reoccurring issue. The parking clock is a great asset though confusing what you have to do after the time expires. Tourist information didn'...more
My partner and I are and our small dog stayed in Whistlestop for 2 nights. It is by far the most comfortable and cosy stay we've had in a long time. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would! Ciaran was a wonderful host - I highly recommend adding on breakfast for a cosy room service feel. We can't wait to return to Whistlestop and see more of what New Forest has to offer (if we can tear ourselves away from comfort!)
We stayed at The Bend for a big birthday celebration. The booking process was easy and we were given lots of information prior to arrival about the house and information about the local area. The house is absolutely amazing and there was plenty of room for 12 adults. The kitchen is so well equipped and the house has absolutely everything you need. We had an amazing weekend making lots of memories in a beautiful house.
A fabulous in the new forest over the festive period. Surrey Lodge is in an ideal location with horses and donkeys walking past the front door. Brockenhurst is a short stroll away with pubs, shops and tea rooms all available Look forward to a return visit
We had a lovely time staying for a few days at Nutmeg House. It was clean and beautifully laid out. We enjoyed being near the High Street and doing some last minute Christmas shopping. We really appreciated the small details to make this home even more lovely to stay in: board games, books for all ages and pretty much anything you could want in the TV. Being able to control the heating with ease was also nice while it was colder. Diffusers in each bathroom, from a local company, was also a nice touch. The only issue we had was reversing to the very tight drive to park outside the house. We h...more
Amazing view, great location, very well equipped and comfortable house and responsive host. Perfect for our short getaway.
It was perfect. Warm, comfy and spacious house - we wouldn’t have changed anything. It was the perfect place for our family to gather to spend Christmas together coming from different places. Our dogs loved it too. Large garden for them to run in, woodland walks from the house, ponies, deer and wonderful hot tub ! Oak lodge was spotlessly clean and everything had been thought of. Jon was so helpful on Xmas eve when heating stopped ( easily fixed with new batteries in thermostat) loved every minute !
Beautiful discreet property in perfect location. Everthing we and our little dog needed for a break in the New Forest.
We booked here for Christmas and it didn’t disappoint. A beautifully presented house and annex with quality fixtures and fittings. There was everything we needed for our stay including spare dog poo bags if required. Waking up with the most glorious views was an absolute treat. Beautiful walks straight out of the house and within 15 mins you’re nearing Lepe. So glad we found this house, we will be back.
we stayed here for my husband’s surprise birthday, having self catering properties ourselves i was so impressed at the standard of the rooms and bathrooms every detail is thought of , the kitchen is well equipped and we used the gas BBQ even though it’s January! Good location for walking into town and visiting forest . i myself have taken home some tips from here to improve my own self catering property ! Highly recommend
We had an amazing family stay at Greenwood. The house is spacious, character full and homely. Each bedroom is roomy with lovely views into the garden The games room/Annexe is an added bonus and fun to bring the family together. The garden is large and our dogs had a great time chasing around in a safe enclosed space The open plan downstairs is a lovely sociable area where we gathered and the other rooms provided quiet space when needed The setting of the home is exceptional, straight onto the forest with lovely walks on the doorstep and the village 8 min walk away Highl...more
Wow, just wow! Everything was as described, if not better. Definitely exceeded our expectations and plenty of space for 8 people, along with hosting other members of our family who visited us over Christmas. The place was fully equipped with everything we needed, along with a picture perfect Christmas Tree. And there were some nice additional touches to make us feel welcome when we arrived. Can’t rate this place highly enough and will be our first choice again in future if ever we need to rent a larger home in the New Forest.
We absolutely loved our stay at the LGH. The property was more spacious than we expected, it was full of wonderful little details and the furnishings were of a really high standard. A few ‘housekeeping’ things to mention that might help others: there are a variety of routes that you can explore to get into the village, so make sure to try them out; we stayed in January and lit the log burner (it was reassuringly easy) but we had to turn the heating off as a result! Oh, and there’s a definite knack to flushing the traditional cistern. There’s not kettle as such, it’s one that you use on the hob...more
This was our second visit to Furzedown and was again extremely successful. The property is spacious and ideal for a family gathering. The children loved the music/ play room and large garden. The various wildlife visiting the garden creates interest for all. Good location. The welcome pack is a nice touch.
The photos do not do this property justice. It's a beautiful house with everything you need for a perfect holiday. The hot tub, gym and games room provided that extra 'thing', especially for a family of 8. Combining this with lovely walks and pubs nearby, as well as a large number of 'attractions' so close, there was a lot to do. And amazing hosts too, so helpful. If there was anything we would change it would be to properly secure the property as our dogs did find some 'escape' areas. Just lovely.
We have just spent four nights at Popsy cottage with our dog. The house is lovely, very comfortable, clean and had everything that we needed. We particularly enjoyed the log fire. The New Forest is a short drive away and the local shops and pub the Hare and Hounds are walking distance. Would happily stay here again. NFE were easy and efficient to deal with and Claire the property manager was prompt and helpful with our queries. Overall very happy with our stay.
This is a wonderful house for a family celebration. Top quality kitchen and beautifully decorated house. We really enjoyed staying here despite a very rainy weekend. It was ideal for all our family including two dogs. Such a comfortable house which enhanced our visit.
We loved staying at Nuthatch over the festive period. The location is great and the set up was excellent. The only downside was a lack of curtains in the living room which prohibited a bit of privacy in the evenings. Loved it though a. D would definitely stay again.
We booked Little Nye alongside the main house Nye Creek. It was perfect extra space with easy access to the garden / hot tub / dining. Worth knowing that it is very close to the main house if you are booking separately. The bathroom for the main house is directly above Little Nye’s bedroom. Running showers and flushing toilets are quite loud. The bed in Little Nye is quite low and the bed is very firm. Very comfortable pillows and bedding. As a self-contained space, Little Nye has everything you need. Perfect location for the forest and the coast.
Location is fabulous and scenery is better than any we have stayed in. Well equiped with everything you need. Just found the decor a bit dated and in need of an uplift
Fern Villa is exceptionally decorated, comfortably furnished and luxuriously equipped for a brilliant family stay. The fully enclosed rear garden is excellent for dogs and the outside lounging area lovely at night with fire pit under the stars. Amazing to see the local ponies, donkeys and horses wondering on the road out the front. A nice easy driving distance to the best beaches and walking trails right from Brockenhurst to explore.
Wanted a break in the New Forest and this cottage met that desire. It was comfortable and homely with every thing that you need and more. Would happily spend more time there.
We had a wonderful stay at Nye Creek for our family event. The house was excellent, very clean with a lovely garden which the children enjoyed. The beds were comfortable and the whole place felt welcoming and well cared for. There are great walks around Keyhaven towards the beach or Lymington. Milford on Sea is close by for any shopping needs and we had a delicious Sunday lunch at The Gun Inn. We would highly recommend Nye Creek and would happily stay again.
What a lovely warm, cosy and welcoming home. 3 generations enjoyed this lovely home with everything we needed to make our stay just right. 10 minute walk into Lyndhurst through the field and the New Forest just round the corner. Lovely shops in town catering for all our needs. Weather for October was very kind to us. I expect this home is even lovelier if you get a chance to sit outside on a lovely warm evening. It was very quiet so a nice peaceful location. Thank you to the owners and everyone behind the scenes.
This was just right for our family group. Well-equipped. Well placed for short, level walks by the elderly and infirm but with longer options for the younger and fitter. However, my son-in-law, who is somewhat disabled , and I, age 92, had some accessibility problems particularly with the staircase. The handrail is too wide to be held securely. It would help to have an additional second handrail of a smaller diameter which could be fully grasped. It would also help if one of the upstairs toilets was adjacent to a wall to which a grab rail could be fixed, to help with sitting and standing...more
Spent a few days pre Christmas with the family and had an excellent trip. The cottage was in a great location for some walks and next to a super pub that did a fantastic Sunday roast. Great customer service from New Forest Escapes too!
We had a lovely stay at Little Exbury with two dogs. The cottage is very comfortable and clean at the end of a quiet lane, with Lepe only a c. 3km walk/drive away, and nearby Exbury, Beaulieu and the rest of the National Park within close proximity. We hope to go back sometime soon!
We wanted somewhere that was suitable for a family celebration that was both relaxing and comfortable for ages 10 to 80 in a quiet location and in this respect Valley View ticked all the boxes. We loved the cottage annex which proved very suitable for our group and which matched the quality of the main house in every respect. The location is amazing and the younger more able members of the family enjoyed taking advantage of the beautiful unspoilt surroundings and saying hello to the ponies and donkeys who were never far from our front gate! Sometimes descriptions and photos provided by holid...more
We had a lovely week stay at Gins Barn. It is comfortable and spacious and in a great location. Holly and Julian could not have been more helpful and their dogs were very friendly! Sitting outside as the sun set by the river was a great end to the day.
This is a very beautiful cottage & in a superb location just a short drive to beaulieu & also burly is not to far this cottage is in the heart of the new forest if your looking for a cottage in the new forest I would strongly recommend this cottage
Sway Corner is a lovely homely cottage. It was beautifully clean & well equipped. The beds were extremely cosy & comfortable. Very easy to walk into Sway for local shops, pub, railway station & into the Forest. For EV users there is a charger in the recreation ground opposite the cottage. All the New Forest Escapes staff were so friendly & helpful.
Burley Mews is a lovely property in an idyllic spot in the forest. It has a stylish modern interior with quality furniture and fittings. The kitchen is well thought out and well equipped. The bathroom with shower over bath again is modern and stylish. It is ideally situated for walks in the forest and the village of Burley is easily reached on foot , as is the The White Buck Inn. There are open views from the property. Our visit at the end of November coincided with a very cold few days and unfortunately the bathroom and living/kitchen area of the property were very cold despite the central ...more
We loved our stay in Nutshell Cottage. It was cosy and the decor was lovely. Everything provided in the kitchen. Location was great and parking really close by. However, twin bedroom is very small and the lounge seating isn’t enough for 6 people. There was 5 of us (adults) but we struggled.
A comfortable cottage for the family and our grand daughter lived the dolls house. Sofas in the lounge a bit tired.
Always a lovely place to stay for great forest walks to the north and beachside strolls to the south.
A lovely house in a nice road, but please note the following... The two double beds could do with being a little larger - especially as this is a great 'couples' house The table sits 6 comfortably, but adding in the red 'additional' chairs made seating awkward for 8 - suggest to either change all chairs or provide a larger table The natural place to stand and put make-up on in the main bedroom is by the large window, suggest a good mirror there instead of the wall prints The games room is a little 'oversold' and 'under delivering' for adults - especially the pool table and small TV The...more
The property was very spacious, although weather wasn’t good it had a view that I could imagine would be pretty in the nicer days to come. We found the housekeeping not that great as there were cup marks on bedside tables, thick dust on the lanterns, fake flowers, under the sofa and on the sideboards. The sofa was covered in stains as were the carpets, rugs and the kitchen curtains were splattered with food. It did put us off as not feeling that the property was clean made us uncomfortable.
Beautiful little cottage. Everything you needed perfect place to recharge your batteries will definitely return one day.
Firstly I would say fantastic customer service from New Forest Escapes. Great communication at all times. Will definitely be using again. We had a lovely 4 days here between Christmas and New Year but I will admit I was feeling cautious when I booked. The location is great, with lovely walks straight out the property onto the nature reserve and good pubs close by. An easy drive to go further if desired and plentiful parking at the shed. It is a 3 star accommodation at best but gets 5 stars for being it. There is no point in booking somewhere such as this then complaining there was no room s...more
The property was great and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Very well equipped and great location. Clean, tidy and the team were very efficient. Few feedback points - would be handy for outside lights to be left on for arrival, makes parking and finding lock box much easier. The Upstairs single toilet with sliding door blocks very easily - seems to be issue with flush/ pipes so we had to unblock it whilst there. The downstairs shower also floods very easily - water doesn’t drain quick enough
A really unusual place to stay. Great atmosphere. We wanted to do something 'different' for Christmas with the (adult) family - and The Old Church certainly delivered on that front! A few minor niggles: A bit chilly at times. The timed heating not quite on long enough at this time of year. We were able to boost the heating after contacting the property manager. Lovely kitchen but strangely no cupboards for storing non-perishable food (which was challenging for a party of six adults for best part of a week). Paid extra for the hot tub, which was good fun but no extra towels included.
