We stayed here as a large family group of three generations. Everyone was enchanted by the character of the house, with all the quirky art, the fantastic main staircase and so much space. There are so many living rooms on the ground floor that it was easy for different groups to find their own quiet space when wanted. The kitchen/dining area was perfect for large sociable meals, and was very well equipped. The bedrooms were spacious and beds extremely comfortable, so much so I had to check out the brand of mattresses! The children enjoyed the playroom and the outside space, and the grownups ...more
Hut is fantastic with everything you need. Great location in a very peaceful area. Hosts are amazing!
This is a fantastic place to stay with beautiful gardens. It has large rooms, high ceilings and good views.
Seabiscuit was like staying in a show home. Every detail has been executed thoughtfully and with no expense spared. The house was lovely and warm and extremely comfortable. Every kitchen utensil and appliance was superior quality, the bedding and towels were luxurious, all furniture and fittings were exceptional. Lovely big tv and easy to use, always a bonus. We wanted for nothing. Great location bang in the middle of the high street, Saturday market on our doorstep, M&S, Tesco, fish and chip shop, harbour with pubs and restaurants a short walk away. Off street car parking space, super ...more
Superb accommodation pristine throughout, ideal location for local pubs walks and restaurants, Would recommend for a family get together, the children loved it too
We stayed at Swallows cottage for five nights in September. I couldn’t fault the accommodation- very comfortable beds with good quality bed linen and towels. Excellently equipped kitchen, plenty of everything if you plan to cook. Four good sized bedrooms. The area is quiet, residential, but easy walking to the marina, a bit further to get into town. The only thing lacking is some curtains for the patio windows- it felt a bit exposed at night. I can definitely recommend this property and would stay here again.
The apartment is beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. Everything was prepared perfectly for our arrival with the wood burner ready for lighting, a lovely gift of cake, jam and cookies and fresh milk in the fridge. Fantastic location in a beautiful part of the country. We rented eBikes for a day and Sunday walked along the sea front to The Gunn Inn in Keyhaven. Only request is a few more matches for the wood burner as we ran out. Thanks for a lovely stay.
Everything one needs for a lovely holiday in the New Forest. So peaceful and quiet considering it was a bank holiday weekend Clean, comfortable and plenty of room for everyone
We had a very pleasant week at Treetops. Deceptively large, light airy rooms, all amenities and very nice welcome pack. Comfy beds. The outdoor space is especially pleasant with lots of trees and birds singing, front and back. The decking is enormous and a sun trap, great for sun bathing, relaxing, al fresco dining and barbecues. The owner (Vivek) was in contact before, during and after to make certain everything going smooth and with recommendations. The location is ideal for exploring the New Forest, visited Burley, Mudeford, Lymington and Poultons Park. All in all a great holiday, woul...more
We stayed at Surrey Lodge with our daughters and partners for this year’s family holiday. The house is well equipped, warm and comfortable. It’s location is excellent, walks from your doorstep , pubs and restaurants a 10 minute walk away .
I had the best stay here and would not hesitate to recommend or return. The hut is so cosy and snug and even on a rainy day is enjoyable. The wood burner heats it very quickly and the infra red sauna is a great touch. The add on breakfast was amazing and breakfast in bed was greatly appreciated. I cannot fault it and it was a friendly welcoming space. Meal wise you can easily do some simple things like salads or brought in sushi. The fridge is small but can fit more than you think!
We spent four comfortable nights at The Bend. It was warm and comfortable and very clean. We were six ladies and all the bedrooms were well appointed. Four bedrooms are en-suite with two family bathrooms so we all had our own facilities. We enjoyed the open fire and it had a well equipped kitchen. There was easy parking and we enjoyed a dinner cooked by a private chef on our last night. The cinema room was great for watching tv. We didn’t use the garden but it had some nice seating areas and a bbq.
This house was perfect for us - a multi generational family birthday weekend in a beautiful location. It's in the heart of the new forest with ponies often at the end of the drive. Facilities in the house are fantastic, plenty to keep everyone entertained and relaxed inside and outside the house. The hot tub was fantastic and the games room was well utilised by the kids. The owner is exceptionally friendly and helpful and nothing was too much. The house is very well equipped, they have really thought of everything you might need. We loved our long weekend and would happily recommend!
We stayed here whilst visiting family who live nearby. The location was excellent. Easy walking distance from shops, supermarkets, pubs and restaurants. We particularly liked The Kings Head and the White Hart where the food was excellent. The apartment was comfortable, well equipped and spotless.
a beautiful property, the seaside just across the road, the property was very well maintained. I would highly recommended this lovely holiday home
We had a lovely stay at nutmeg house. It was a really comfortable house with all mod cons and had a lovely homely feeling about it. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was very well equipped. Positioned right in the centre of Lymington and with in easy reach to all the lovely towns in the New Forest.
Our first visit and hopefully not the last to the Nook. Top quality accommodation in a central location with dog walks straight into the forest on the doorstep. Brilliant coffee shop opposite was a bonus. Would highly recommend. New Forest Escapes were efficient, helpful and friendly.
Three generations, from age 7 to 71, stayed at Greenwood to celebrate a 70th birthday and 50th wedding anniversary and Greenwood was the perfect setting. The house was spotlessly clean, welcoming, and had everything we could possibly need. The games room kept the young (and old!) entertained for hours. Thank you Greenwood and the NFE team; we had a perfect weekend.
The cottage was modern with a cozy feel and was very dog friendly. It is very comfortably equipped and has lovely en-suites to each bedroom. It is in an excellent location within walking distance to Burley village but very quiet in a private road in the heart of the New Forest where we had horses and deer visiting us at the end of the drive. The grounds of the cottage were beautifully kept and a joy to quietly sit out under the covered seating area whilst listening to the birds and enjoying our morning coffee. Sadly we didn’t use the hot tub due to the inclement weather although as there was s...more
We had an amazing time, everything was lovely, and the mini website/app was so helpful for planning.
We had no car so Victory Cottage was perfect for our needs. Close to the station and the high street with all its shops and restaurants. It is very well equipped and very clean. The owners have thought of everything for your comfort. We will be back!
We only stayed at Captains Keep for 2 nights, but would love to have stayed longer to fully appreciate the lovely house and the garden, with its amazing garden room. The house is very well equipped, with good quality furnishings and very comfortable beds. The living areas are set up well with spacious, practical, social seating. The only reason I have rated it 4 out of 5 stars for value for money, is due to the later check-in time of 4pm and the early check-out time. We had to be out by 10am, which spoilt having breakfast together, due to the rush in packing up and clearing everything out. An...more
The apartment is lovely, cosy and spacious. There was a great selection of snacks there and milk in the fridge was a nice touch. It’s a great location as it’s near the sea and the new forest. The directions were incorrect on the email we got sent so we got a bit lost but found it in the end. I think it should make it clear on the booking that this is like an annexe attached to someone’s house. The mat in the lounge is coming apart and leaves bits of it all over your feet etc. The kettle was full on scale and the toaster was filthy. But other than that we enjoyed our stay but think it was not v...more
It was a family get together of three generations and we all loved the house and the area. A lot of thought had gone into the design, also the kitchen was well equipped. It was just a perfect place to the spend the weekend and I’m sure we will be returning.
The photos do not do this property justice. It's a beautiful house with everything you need for a perfect holiday. The hot tub, gym and games room provided that extra 'thing', especially for a family of 8. Combining this with lovely walks and pubs nearby, as well as a large number of 'attractions' so close, there was a lot to do. And amazing hosts too, so helpful. If there was anything we would change it would be to properly secure the property as our dogs did find some 'escape' areas. Just lovely.
Very spacious and comfortable. Exceptionally well equipped. There is a big garden with plenty of outdoor seating.
We spent a very relaxing week in Moo Cottage. Such a beautiful location and property. Time to recharge the batteries of your soul. The nearness to nature and surrounding countryside was perfect. We spent time just sitting in the cottage and watching the wildlife, and walking around the grounds. Also visited surrounding area. Plenty of good places to eat. The accommodation was very comfortable. Just two points to mention that could be attended to , The toilet brushes and holders were not a pretty site. Quite a few cobwebs on all the windows and skylights. Otherwise a thoroughly pleasa...more
We were a party of 2 guests staying at Nuthatch in 2 bedrooms, for a long weekend Thu-Sun. The house is lovely, very well appointed, comfortable & beautifully decorated. At the time of our visit the property was relatively new to the rental market & we did have a few minor teething problems with operating the central heating and a couple of bits of snagging - nothing that spoiled our overall enjoyment. Happily the management team responded promptly and managed to resolve swiftly which was greatly appreciated. Location is excellent. It’s central enough for a short walk to all the amenit...more
The main bedroom windows would not open as they were broken. Providing a fan which only circulates hot dry air is unsatisfactory. The weather was gloriously warm and the bedroom needs ventilation. The windows should have been replaced or repaired before allowing any new tenants in. I would expect to sleep in a bedroom with opening windows in warm weather and no prior notification of the problem was given to us. I would expect better for the rental.charged. Generally the carpets needed cleaning and some kitchen frying pans were unusable.
A lovely modern cottage in a nice village with great facilities. Well kept and spacious within 15 minutes of the coast. We would highly recommend.
We booked Little Nye alongside the main house Nye Creek. It was perfect extra space with easy access to the garden / hot tub / dining. Worth knowing that it is very close to the main house if you are booking separately. The bathroom for the main house is directly above Little Nye’s bedroom. Running showers and flushing toilets are quite loud. The bed in Little Nye is quite low and the bed is very firm. Very comfortable pillows and bedding. As a self-contained space, Little Nye has everything you need. Perfect location for the forest and the coast.
We had a lovely 4 nights at No16. It was spotless and we were really pleased to find a lady arrived before we went in to double check that the house had been cleaned well. It was spotless! The house is gorgeous and the downstairs open plan area is perfect for family get togethers. Our only issue is that the bed sheets are poor quality polyester and really need an upgrade as do the towels to match the quality of the rest of the house. Thank for the stay!
Fern Villa is exceptionally decorated, comfortably furnished and luxuriously equipped for a brilliant family stay. The fully enclosed rear garden is excellent for dogs and the outside lounging area lovely at night with fire pit under the stars. Amazing to see the local ponies, donkeys and horses wondering on the road out the front. A nice easy driving distance to the best beaches and walking trails right from Brockenhurst to explore.
What a lovely warm, cosy and welcoming home. 3 generations enjoyed this lovely home with everything we needed to make our stay just right. 10 minute walk into Lyndhurst through the field and the New Forest just round the corner. Lovely shops in town catering for all our needs. Weather for October was very kind to us. I expect this home is even lovelier if you get a chance to sit outside on a lovely warm evening. It was very quiet so a nice peaceful location. Thank you to the owners and everyone behind the scenes.
This was just right for our family group. Well-equipped. Well placed for short, level walks by the elderly and infirm but with longer options for the younger and fitter. However, my son-in-law, who is somewhat disabled , and I, age 92, had some accessibility problems particularly with the staircase. The handrail is too wide to be held securely. It would help to have an additional second handrail of a smaller diameter which could be fully grasped. It would also help if one of the upstairs toilets was adjacent to a wall to which a grab rail could be fixed, to help with sitting and standing...more
Excellent. Just walked straight in & felt very comfortable. Ideal for Keyhaven and exploring the New Forest.
We wanted somewhere that was suitable for a family celebration that was both relaxing and comfortable for ages 10 to 80 in a quiet location and in this respect Valley View ticked all the boxes. We loved the cottage annex which proved very suitable for our group and which matched the quality of the main house in every respect. The location is amazing and the younger more able members of the family enjoyed taking advantage of the beautiful unspoilt surroundings and saying hello to the ponies and donkeys who were never far from our front gate! Sometimes descriptions and photos provided by holid...more
This was the perfect property for our much needed family break! We enjoyed the food at The Smugglers, The Lighthouse Cafe on the seafront and Mr Pink’s Fish and Chips, which were delicious! The Gun Inn was a welcoming local for drinks and food. Morning walks to The Coastal Bakery for lovely fresh bakes to accompany sausage and bacon from the Butchers on the Green is recommended!
We had a lovely week stay at Gins Barn. It is comfortable and spacious and in a great location. Holly and Julian could not have been more helpful and their dogs were very friendly! Sitting outside as the sun set by the river was a great end to the day.
We had a great stay in Rowes Cottage. The space itself was clean, comfortable and well appointed. The beds were very comfortable, we all slept really well. The kitchen had everything needed to cook for the week - no blunt knives and mismatched cutlery in this holiday house! It was useful to have both the dishwasher and washing machine with detergent provided too. The cottage was well placed to visit Beaulieu and Lymington as well as further into the forest or along the coast. It is also within walking distance of the coast, through pasture, woodland and common. Overall, the perfect place fo...more
A cosy, well-equipped cottage perfect for a weekend stay with grown-up kids. Great location with easy access to the New Forest and the coast. Handy to be able to walk into the village for your everyday essentials and the train station.
The accommodation was beautifully furnished with a lovely garden and situated in an ideal location for exploring the New Forest and nearby coastal areas of Beaulieu, Bucklers Hard, Hurst Castle and Hengistbury Head. There are plenty of local restaurants to provide the necessary sustenance after a hard day walking in the Forest.
We had a lovely time at Two Sides Cottage. Great size house and garden, and comfortably fit 8 of us. Lovely quiet location. You do need a car to get to places as rural location without any footpaths on the roads. The cottage had a really lovely feel to it and rustic charm. A highlight was hearing the owls at night and seeing a variety of birds in the morning.
A wonderful place just north of Lymington to explore the forest and coastline. A lovely garden and ponies grazing in the front of the property. Great service from the owners.
This is a lovely cottage and was an ideal location for exploring the New Forest and Solent coast. It’s very comfortable with everything that we needed. The town is full of great bars and places to eat. New Forest Escapes made every effort to check we were happy - a very nice touch.
We were 4 ladies on a weekend getaway and looking for absolute luxury. We loved loads about this home and it was visually stunning. Overall we had a lovely stay but there is a longish list of things we would hope they can improve on. We paid extra to use the pool and read in the literature about how to open the difficult lid which was helpful. However once open the pool wasn’t cleaned and there were dead things in the bottom of the pool so we didn’t use it in the end. When we went to close the lid we couldn’t and contacted the host to find out why as there was nothing in the advisory not...more
The swimming pool was a lovely size in a lovely garden. We struggled with the downstairs bathroom shower which was low pressure and sometimes the power ceased altogether in the upstairs bathroom. There was an unsightly staining on the ceiling above the upstairs shower. There were not enough cereal bowls and dessert spoons for the 8 of us. The dishwasher filter was very dirty. The mugs on the shelf had unsightly tea stains which we had to hand wash to get clean. Generally felt that the bedroom curtains were rather dated and didn’t have blackout linings. It was very bright in the morning. The...more
We had an amazing family get together staying in this beautiful property. The house was perfect for us all, including our 3 year old grandson and the dogs! Upstairs has a great kitchen with everything you need to cater for a big family group and being open plan is very social, the views are wonderful too! It all opens onto a well fenced, safe garden ideal for children and dogs alike. The bedrooms are all very comfortable, with everything you need from a hairdryer to a night light for the little one. The location of this house is perfect, in a quiet position overlooking the estuary at Lymi...more
The house was lovely and very much in line with the pictures. Kitchen very well stocked with basics and a few books and board games provided. Hot tub was great also and really warm on arrival. The only main downside was the very close proximity to the A337 Christchurch road which generated a constant traffic hum. I was particularly aware of it going to sleep and early in the morning. There are also some building works going on at the moment two doors away which generated some noise in the morning that woke me a couple of times. If it weren’t for the road noise, I’d consider going back anoth...more
We booked a short notice break so were limited in choice across booking sites due to dates etc, stumbled upon New Forest Escapes and have not been disappointed. Customer service and communication efficient and friendly. The Lookout was in a brilliant position with lovely views across the Forest and walks from the front door. The cottage was cosy and comfortable with everything you need for a relaxing break.
First the positives: location is excellent, tranquil, great for sea wall walks but not too far to the high street. Booking process was seamless. The Boat House has a lovely garden and looks cute. However... the sofa bed is comfortable neither as a sofa or a bed. Everything is slightly down at heel. The floor is not particularly clean - my socks ended up filthy. If you are a biggish person, you won't be able to get into the shower (there's a fixed screen and a small space between it and the wall). The towel had seen better days. I think this is all somewhat reflected in the price - it is one...more
The location of Ashdale Cottage is lovely. The house and annexe could be better - we arrived to a blocked upstairs toilet with a plunger still in. The main upstairs bathroom hot tap was not working, this has clearly been an ongoing issue as there was a welcome card for a previous guest stating this issue (and that it would be fixed). The majority of beds were really uncomfortable especially the one above the kitchen (rock hard). The annexe smelt of damp so we chose not to use it. The main house smelt musty upstairs. There were dirty greasy oven dishes in the cupboard and the overall level ...more
