As usual, another wonderful stay in West Burton in Wensleydale. Apart from being one of the prettiest villages in the Dales, with a spectacular waterfall, West Burton is an excellent location for exploring the entire Dales and AONB areas. Bridge View is a first class apartment, with two lovely owners who ensure every requirement is covered. Country Hideaways ensure booking is both smooth and simple.
We stayed for a week in September. The house was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Masham has a good variety or shops and pubs right on your doorstep. Some great local walks too. Highly recommended.
This was our fourth stay at The Hay Loft, and hopefully it won’t be our last. It’s simply a perfect cottage for two, full of charm and with wonderful hosts. The walled garden and off-street parking is a major bonus.
Another brilliant stay in this compact quiet and spotlessly clean cottage with everything you could wish for. The Dales are on the doorstep and the vibrant small town of Leyburn less than 10 minutes away for a full range of shops and services. Whether walking, touring or just getting chilling out , East Witton is hard to beat.
We love the Beckside. Comfortable, clean, quiet, in a lovely location. Had everything we needed here, and we so appreciated Sandra’s delicious lemon curd and barm brack, with fresh eggs and milk in the fridge.
We had a lovely stay at the cottage. Attention to detail would have given 5 throughout. More could have been made of the patio area as we felt it was a bit neglected. Dirty windows and lots of cobwebs. However this did not spoil our stay.
We found the cottage very welcoming with all the little extras that Gill and Steve leave for us. Will recommend to our friends.
Our second time staying in Jesmond Cottage where every little detail has been provided for the most comfortable of stays; a lovely cottage in a beautiful and tranquil location. Super easy to book and the owner is a very attentive host. Highly recommended
Our fourth stay at Forge Cottage. A spacious, well equipped cottage for two, located a couple of minutes away from the market place and shops. Hosts Shirley and David are very welcoming and helpful. I can highly recommend a visit to Masham!
We thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay at Hill Top Cottage. On arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome. The wine and Wendsleydale cheese was a lovely touch. The cottage was very clean, cosy and exceptionally well equipped for our weeks stay. The view from the windows and the surrounding area was stunningly beautiful. A perfect base for exploring the local countryside and many places of interest not too far away. We would love to return here in the not too distant future.. Perfect!
Fantastic week, great accomodation, lots of walking,, drinking and eating out. Parked the car up on arrival, and there it stayed for the week.
This is an amazing place in a stunningly beautiful bucolic setting. The house is great, the history is great, the location is remote but not too remote, and there are all sorts of things to see and visit within an hour drive in any direction At night it is silent except for the occasional bleat of a sheep far away. I encourage you to stay at this place while it is still available, since in some ways it seems too good to be true. Great place for kids too. Very safe and lots of outdoor space to play and explore. I plan to come back someday if I can.
We found the School House was a lovely place to stay. It had a really nice patio out the back to sit in. My only criticism is that the steep stairs needs another hand rail on the other side as I found it difficult to get up and down the stairs. There was plenty of wood and coal for the fire
Our first impression as we opended the door was WOW! Such a treat to be able to stay in an old wheel house. The decor, furnishing and little touches are high end. There is absolutely nothing I can fault with it. It's set in a beautiful location with amenties i.e. a pub close by in a pretty quiet little village. I'd loved to return one day. Thank you for sharing your property with us.
In over 50 years of self catering cottages this has to come close to 1of the best, clean very well equipped and of good quality ,location perfect the front view with horse going to gallops the back with jasmine bush and sweet private hedge a real sun trap and the weather fantastic which comes down to luck ,would we visit again YES
The cottage was very comfortable well equipped and in a lovely location. The nearby Wensleydale Creamery was really interesting and well worth a visit.
A very comfortable and well equipped cottage in a lovely village. Glorious view from the bedrooms and a hop and a skip from a great pub/ restaurant and the rest of the village amenities. Welcome pack was the best we have had in 40 years of holiday cottages. Highly recommended, the swifts were a joy to watch.
Lovely cottage in a quiet location. Very well equipped, but needs a bath mat if you are showering. Excellent food at the Street Head Inn, 10 minutes walk away.
