This is our fourth visit and definitely not the last the apartment is of very high standards it’s got everything you need beautiful views from windows walks from the front door no need to use the car les and Sandra who own the apartment are very knowledgeable friendly the perfect hosts . on arrival we was left a lovely fruit cake lemon curd six eggs which was very kind
ThIs is the first time we’ve stayed at Barton Cottage and I doubt it will be the last. I can only reflect many of the comments in the visitors book, many of whom were returning guests and that it’s a home from home. It’s quirky in a good way and has everything you need for a good, relaxing holiday. Lots of hot water, a comfortable bed and the pub is just across the village Green.
What a gem the Hay Loft is! A wonderful cosy hideaway close to Ripon town centre but with walks from the doorstep. Beautifully kept and presented, with a plentiful supply of logs for the fire. We only had a short break, but it was wonderful. Many thanks indeed to Katharine and Pete - a great place to stay!
Home from home - November 5th - we required the solitude (no fireworks to upskitall the dog) Local residents are very friendly and welcoming. A great summer break.
This was our third visit to Beckside and it didn't disappoint! Sandra & Les provided their usual high standard of hospitality. Nothing was too much trouble. It is a beautiful location with lovely walks from the door. Can thoroughly recommend the Street Head Inn for Sunday lunch and for food in general. We will return! Biggest problem is that Beckside gets booked up too quickly. One final point is that Joanne & Nadine are brilliant to deal with. Highly recommend Country Hideaways.
Well described accommodation, everything mentioned was available. Ideal location and a parking space provided. Only downside was that there wasn't a dishwasher - but my husband coped !!!!!!
This was our first stay at Clipstone Cottage but a return vist to Masham. The cottage was ideally located for easy access to local amenities and to tour around the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, comfortable and had everything needed for a relaxing holiday. The owner, Shirley, dropped in to say hello and to make sure we were happy; we also appreciated the welcome beers and chocs. We very much enjoyed our stay - thank you.
This is a good place to stay with pubs and fish and chips close to the market square. And through the archway there is an excellent sandwich shop with helpful owner. Will come back again. Derek and Maria
A lovely cottage, really well appointed and an excellent location. A perfect place for a short break. We couldn’t have asked for more. Looking forward to visiting again for a longer stay next time.
impeccably clean and comfortable and I would recommend without hesitation. Always find Country Hideaways properties are of a certain high standard and this was one of the best
A wonderful place to stay if you enjoy wide open spaces and a feeling of splendid isolation. This cottage is well equipped, cosy and comfortable and a great base for exploring Wensleydale it's a place we keep coming back to. Rob and Pat are so welcoming too we relax the instant we arrive here.
Fabulous holiday home, with two lovely living rooms and a real fire. Plenty of amenities in the house with cake, biscuits and wine to welcome us. West Burton is great for short and longer walks and the falls are breath taking. Good communication throughout the booking process.
This cottage was perfect for 2 couples to have a wonderful short break together, catching up, biking and walking in the beautiful surrounding countryside. The cottage was really comfortable, clean and well equipped, with a useful shed to store our bikes too. Overall, It was great value and we’d definitely recommend it. Thank you so much for the welcome tray with the delicious cakes - a lovely touch.
Our stay at Jesmond Cottage has been so relaxing, comfortable and convenient with a perfect location overlooking the Green, and the village shop and pub just a few steps away. Very clean and well appointed property with every possible piece of kitchen equipment supplied, comfortable beds and cosy rooms. Parking outside is a bonus too. We’ve had a really enjoyable, unwinding holiday surrounded by the wonderful Yorkshire Dales.
Magnolia Cottage is a well placed comfortable cottage close to the centre of the beautiful town of Masham - ideal for exploring the surrounding areas of Yorkshire - We would thoroughly recommend a stay. Thank you to Neil (the owner who lives nextdoor) for dropping by at the start of our stay and giving us some useful information regarding pubs / shops and places to visit.
What a beautiful property and grounds. The peacefulness was constant. Lots of history surrounding the property. Very well equipped for every age. The owners very helpful if needed for anything. This house needs to be filled with family and enjoyed. Some great towns locally to be explored. There is an aga as well as a conventional oven, do use it too cook. There are pheasants and squirrels and rabbits running round the grounds and the views are amazing. We felt very welcomed in the house and will certainly look to revisit in the future.
This is an ideal cottage for a couple. Right in the heart of the dales. Everything required for an enjoyable holiday is present here, in compact form. A lovely comfy bed, all that anyone could need in the kitchen, a wood burning stove, central heating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We enjoyed a comfortable few days away in a good location - the enclosed garden was ideal for the dog
From our first enquires Joanne and Nadine were most helpful , with nothing too much trouble. The Old Wheelhouse was extremely comfortable and homely, with quality inclusions. The location was superb !
We had a good weekend at Hazeley Cottage. The property was comfortable and very well equipped, and warmed up once we worked out how the electric radiators worked. The village shop and pub were good, and the shop very friendly and well stocked supplying nice bread, fresh vegetables, milk and orange juice.
Very nice cottage to stay in - some quirky furnishings and very well equipped. Really nice having two sitting rooms - one in the front which was very spacious and had a nice coal fire for the daytime and a separate one at the back with a log burner and great views over the garden and dales for the evenings (we were there in October but the house was very cosy and we only used the open fires a few times but it was great to have them. Plenty of walks to do from the door and also plenty of great places within a short drive too and being off the main road through Wensleydale it was quiet and a...more
We always love coming here. Comfortable beds, spacious living area, well equipped kitchen, great location, off-road parking space outside.
We had a great week in Cherry Tree Cottage and found it to be in a superb location to visit Wensleydale and beyond. There are some brilliant walks from the cottage with tea rooms and pubs plentiful. The local pub does great value food and local beer. The cottage itself is a bit of a mixed bag. Pros: - Very clean, warm and cosy on arrival. - The coal fire is a highlight. - Quiet location off the main street and parking space right outside the front door. - Private courtyard looks like it would be nice to sit out in warm weather. - Decent internet for planning outings etc. - Spaciou...more
We have stayed here many times and at different times of the year. Autumn months are our favourite when we can make use of the lovely open fire. Especially good this time to be able to watch a good selection of films in the evening on the upgraded TV. Spring/summer it's lovely to either sit outside at the back of the cottage in the lovely quiet courtyard or at the front watching the racehorses trotting by with the castle as a backdrop.
Lovely country location nice and quiet with good views. Good base for exploring the area. Only down side was the lack of drawers in double bedroom and the small ones in the bedside table wouldn't open and close properly.
This is our second stay here in the last two years. The property is very comfortable, very warm and very peaceful with amazing views. Ideally situated for exploring the Dales. Quite simply Warren Barn is a lovely place to enjoy a holiday in this area.
We are regular visitors on holiday to the village, having stayed in 5 cottages over 20 plus years. We stayed in River Cottage last year and booked immediately to return this year, to coincide with the Sheep Fair. The cottage has everything we need, comfortable beds and good kitchen facilities, and is in a great location. Perhaps the best complement I can give is that I did not realise that visitors here could bring a dog (we usually would not book to stay in a cottage if it does take dogs), and having now stayed here for 2 separate weeks I have not noticed at all any sign of dogs being here...more
West Burton is a beautiful and very quiet village with no through traffic apart from to farms at the western end . If has its own idyllic waterfall where you can enjoy a morning with kids and it's a short walk over the hill to Aysgarth Falls. The village boasts a friendly pub , butchers and village store . The cottage is perfect for a family of 4 to 6 although the bunk bed room is suitable mainly for younger children or as an overflow snoring room ! The village green is a great place for family's to play when not sightseeing with both a small playground and ample space for football and crick...more
