The Cove is a lovely apartment in a very good central location to Ryde, Shanklin, Ventnor, Black Gang chine and Robin Hill theme parks, and some lovely beaches. Lots of places to eat out within a short drive or a beautiful pub within walking distance from The Cove. It was lovely to find all the grocery essentials like bread, milk tea, coffee on arrival. A nice little touch! The apartment is very clean and comfortable and nice to come back to after a day out. The beds were so comfortable (which you don’t always find) and lovely fresh linen too. We wouldn’t hesitate in returning to “The C...more
We had a very enjoyable stay at the sea Shack the views were wonderful and the peace and quiet was great. The amenities are with in walking distance. Richard the host had thoughtfully provided everything we could need for our stay. We are looking forward to our next stay there.
A well equipped spacious apartment , excellent location at a very reasonable price. Very clean, warm and comfortable, off road parking a great bonus Only minor criticism would be that the tv could be a larger screen size and the fridge was a little on the noisy side, but neither would deter me from booking again.
We enjoyed our stay at the Lodge. Both of us are disabled but I took suction wall bars with me to help me on the toilet and use in the shower. There are quite high steps into the property but I was ok with that. I was a little limited on walking around the property because my walker would not fit everywhere but it did not really impact on us. Lovely quiet place to sleep in but some noise in the early morning from the farm vehicles, which is to be expected on a working farm. The only other comment I will make is that the fridge is very small and low down but everything else was excellent. Ya...more
Third year running that we have been to clara cottage every thing about the place is good, nice little village, close to holiday resorts, nice village pub..just a shame that we carnt book it for next year(as already booked) very sort after property
Great house, clean tidy and great location. Lovely welcome pack as well. A family gathering with 2 dogs and we all loved the house.
With it's proximity to the ferry port, town, pubs restaurants and coast, this is the perfect place to stay when visiting the Isle of Wight. The house is spotlessly clean, comfortable, homely - the garden is a sun trap and private, and the parking is a bonus. Everything that you could possibly need is provided, whether you are planning on eating out every day or cooking a roast dinner...the house is clearly somebody's much loved and used holiday home, so no expense is spared on the furniture or equipment. Access was simple and uncomplicated, the photos advertising the property are an excelle...more
Great location, everything I needed for the week. Warm and clean. Great facilities. Nice to meet the host on arrival.
We had a great time at Jan Dee Cottage. Its well located in ventnor which has a nice beach and nice restaurants. Also just 15 mins from shanklin. The house is clean and well appointed and had everything we needed for a nice week away
A really nice apartment in a really lovely part of the country. Very well equipped and spotlessly clean
A lovely ,tidy comfortable house on a nice street. Can get to beach and town center. Needs better curtains in main bed room.
We come back year after year…that should say it all. A beautiful, peaceful cottage in a gorgeous location. Always feel refreshed and relaxed after a stay at Fernwood whatever the weather.
Lovely newly refurbished house. Having stayed in Cowes before this is by far the best location for amenities.
We booked for a 3 night stay in February half term and thoroughly enjoyed the views, the quietness and the cosy and clean interior. Everything was extremely well catered for and the bungalow was spacious, warm and suited our needs. We will be back.
We thoroughly enjoyed our November stay at Kenmare Cottage, it is very spacious and well equipped, and so very homely, the owners have thought of everything. The location is very convenient, it is close to the shops and the beach in Shanklin, it is also handy for the old village, restaurants, pubs and takeaways, which are all within an easy stroll. This is by far the best place we have stayed in Shanklin and would highly recommend the property. The team at Island Holiday Homes were also fantastic, they provided excellent customer service throughout our stay. Their attention to deta...more
We was wowed as soon as we entered this property, bright clean and spacious, the location was perfect, only a short walk to the nearest town, there is also beautiful views on the walk, we loved every minute of our stay at the dickens and we would definitely be coming back.
Very helpfull owners just what customers require, plenty of room to relaxes and enjoy holiday.very central location ,could visit places all around isle easily
Who could ask for a more beautiful location and spacious holiday home to relax and unwind in. Photos exactly as seen and more. The views from the balcony, patios and gardens are fantastic. Quiet and peaceful.
We have been going to the i o w for 0ver 20 years and stayed in many locations and the squeak was a perfect place for us the only down side was the lane to the squeak needs the pot holes filling in.
This was our 4th stay at Highlands. Apartment is lovely very spacious and in good condition. Its great location means its easy to get around a short walk to old village or the beach.
We absolutely loved the apartment . It was finished up a very high standard and the location amazing
The Beach House has everything you could need and more, with a view as well! Large light living space, superb kitchen area and three comfortable bedrooms each with their own beautiful bathroom. We had a lovely stay here and would definitely recommend it
Solent View was a home from home with all we needed for our holiday. Its location was convenient for travel and there is a bus stop right outside. It’s a popular property with many returning year after year which says it all.
We were first time visitors to the Isle of Wight and came across the apartment on Cottages.com. It had the most amazing view over Sandown Bay. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed for our weeks stay. It was also in a good location for Shanklin. We would definitely go back there.
Lovely stay, comfortable and everything you need like home from home. Will be back. Very helpful when booking.
We have stayed in this gorgeous home several times. It really is a home from home. The kitchen is so well equipped. It has everything you could possibly need.
The Hayloft was amazing. Perfect cottage, perfect location. Easy to get to and access. Communication was great for getting there and the welcome pack had loads of brilliant information. Easy walk to the village where we recommend Tansy's Pantry - the plant based food is out of this world. Can't wait to return.
Mole cottage was great, lovely views, comfy rooms, well equipped kitchen and plenty of room to move around in. We were fascinated with the badgers each evening, and enjoyed a few afternoons sitting in the garden overlooking the sea. Had a really lovely, relaxing time there and would happily visit again.
Low Tide Loft is in a wonderful location and is very spacious. The views are beautiful and there is easy access to the coast. The downstairs bathroom door lock was very stiff and could do with being loosened.
This apartment has everything you could need for a self catering holiday. Location was ideal with a short walk into the old town and short walk and steps to the beach. Ideal base for looking round the rest of the island. The veranda was lovely to sit on although it would be better if a couple of feet was taken off the trees as this blocked the view slightly. We will definitely return in the future. Shanklin is a lovely village with excellent restaurants.
Very comfortable property with amazing views - sea at the front and downs at the back. A place you instantly relax in.
Another very enjoyable stay at The Moorings, thank you. Clean, warm, comfortable and cosy. The new cooker was easy to use, the shower, hot and strong, all the rooms warm and cosy, the conservatory particularly so in the afternoon. A five minute walk to the pub, a bit more to the shore and overall a great location to get out and about on the island. Bembridge, a picturesque 20 minute walk around the bay, for Fish shop, bakery, farm and good coffee shops. Ryde, an interesting bus ride via Seaview, plenty of shops, lovely promenade with great views across to Portsmouth and recommended, The...more
We had a fantabulous experience at Ye Olde Cottage. Great accommodation with a distinct character. Neat, tidy, and well kept. Host and team were very professional, understanding, and responsive. The kids loved the house so much they have asked to come back to this very house, when next on the Island. I can't recommend Janet and Ye Olde Cottage highly enough.
Very comfortable house with stupendous views across the bay but needs some attention to detail to be perfect. The beds were comfy but a bit saggy in the middle, the lounge was comfy but the armchairs and sofa are made for people of 6ft with very long legs! The walk up from the town and beach is long and very steep, which was ok for some of us but others should be aware - but there is a bus. The en-suite bathroom was left half cleaned with rubbish on the floor and a dirty sink with a dirty cloth left in it and debris on the floor to greet us - but the rest of the house was spotless. A litany...more
Excellently equipped cottage. Magnificent views. Good location for seeing the island. Hope to go back soon.
Overlook is comfortable and well equipped. Beautiful sunrise and sunsets. Steps from lounge are major trip hazard and shower trays too. This was mentioned in visitors book many times.
St.Catherine's View is 3 minutes from the sea and 10 minutes from town centre with shops and restaurants, so very well situated. Beds were extremely comfortable, cottage was warm and watertight with great view to sea, and had all the facilities we needed. There was no "How to use it" manual for devices, heating etc. but we managed anyway. All in all a good experience, and good value for money.
As above.. Can't think of a nicer or better place for a holiday.. By far my most favorite holiday home.. Look forward to going there again next year for my fifth stay..
Our 7th visit and another excellent stay at this amazing property. Good bus links at the end of the road to all parts of the island. Lots of walking from the door. The cottage as always was very well presented and equipped with everything needed. Even with inclement weather a nice relaxing break in a home from home cottage. Look forward to returning.
Good position for temporary accommodation for me, found heating and boiler difficult to manage. Hoover poor but adequate.
Lovely location with Shanklin village a short walk away but a peaceful pretty setting. Accommodation is modern, comfortable clean and has plenty of room. Ample parking. Lots of very different walking routes with plenty of tea rooms and cafes along some routes.
The house was the highlight of our stay on IOW - spacious, beautifully furnished but had a lived in feel, so we felt relaxed. 2 families and dog fitted perfectly. Lovely linen and towels, plenty of hot water bathrooms, kitchen equipment etc. would recommend and also come again.
Richard was friendly super working farm what was surprising quiet, and the animals dogs, duck etc all friendly,
We had a lovely time in Shanklin at Lyndean. It had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay.
The Barn is very quiet and rural - set on a working arable farm the accommodation is good quality and the amenities first class - the owners were helpful and friendly - the location is great for dog walking from your door with footpaths leading in 4 directions The garden is split in 2 by a public footpath which is ok unless you have a dog that gets territorial (the small garden directly behind the barn is fully fenced in - the second garden over looking fields is not) The back view from the barn is of another barn - again not something you can see in any of the literature really The driv...more
Everything was super easy, from the ferry booking, to checking in and out. The cottage was great, lots of little touches, fresh flowers, chocolate, coffee etc. Alison at Island Holiday Homes was very helpful and provided recommendations of some nice restaurants activities and walks. I believe it makes a real difference that the booking agent knows the area and is clearly from the island. great stay (despite the weather).
A fantastic property in a beautiful tranquil location . The quality of the accommodation was superb. The owners had thought and provided everything that we needed. Would highly recommend .
A great place to watch the world go by as you sit out on the balcony. Perfectly situated for access to everything you need in East Cowes/Cowes
Superficially clean, but our exacting standards, not quite met. First impressions on arrival, before entering the accommodation, not good, with overgrown garden and piles of old timber (pallets etc) next to a sheeted over old car. The main living area very nicely done, with modern kitchen, small dining area and lounge with comfy chairs and settee did initially make up for outside disappointment. But upgrades needed to TV, and cd player, both of which had issues. Not able to watch local news on BBC TV due to notice, covering a third of the screen, saying digital upgrade required -- contact S...more
The Villa Amanti apartment is a really nice property, iiked the layout, I enjoyed my stay. The leather sofa is the lounge area is dangerously comfy. Sat outside in the front terrace area in the sunshine Sunday afternoon. Big outside seating area at the back but as the weather was a bit testy on other days, did not have the chance to sample it. Within easy walking distance of various eateries, restaurants, pubs... literally a stone's throw from the beach. I'm a non-driver but it was a stress-free journey from Ryde by bus to Ventnor (bit over an hour), and I idled in a nearby pub for lunch and ...more
Lovely modern property, well suited to a family of 5. All mod-cons, and a good location - walkable from the town centre & beach, but far enough to ensure you always get some decent exercise. A shame we couldn't use the garage to store our bikes, and the weather was pretty ropey, but there's not a lot anyone can do about that!
We have stayed in several of these Quay West Apartments, always pleased to return. But this year we had a real problem with the bed. The base was only nine and a half inches (24cm) from the floor, and instead of having a mattress, it simply had a block of six inch sponge foam covered in stockinette. It was not at all comfortable, and being so low to the ground we found it very difficult to get up from as there was nothing to hold on to. If you can imagine sitting on a box a foot from the ground and trying to stand up with nothing to hold on to, especially if you are an older person (we are bo...more
This was a last minuet booking booking with two dogs and four adults. The location was excellent next door to the pub Dairymans Daughter who are very friendly and do excellent food with the bonus of 10% off if you are staying in Lavender cottage , but do tell them when going to the bar !!. There are Arreton Barns around the pub which are small individual units selling sweets , blown glass object, doggie things , leather goods and much much more . As for dog walks couldnt have been better .... the downs within walking distance , fields , lanes all secure for off lead runs !! our two had the ti...more
We had an enjoyable stay at Tennyson Cottage. It is conveniently situated with good parking. The house itself is comfortable and although on a small estate we found it very quiet. Having a garden was a bonus as the weather was particularly warm while we were there and it was nice to sit outside in the evenings.
Clean compact and comfortable. Very quite good position handy for getting all around the island. Pleasant hosts.
The house provided a perfect vacation stay for three generations of family. The location of the house was perfect for Sandown and was only a 2 1/2 minute walk to the beach. There is sufficient parking off road for 1 large car and on street parking available for any additional visitors. The house was very well presented and very clean and tidy. There was plenty of cutlery, plates and glasses etc and a washing machine and dishwasher. The view from the roof terrace was fantastic and the teenage kids made the most of the games consul and second lounge area in the roof. Would definitely try and sta...more
Nice location lovely view across the solent could see the main land on a good day very handy for a visit to Cowes, parking for one car can be a bit difficult at times if you have a large car .
As usual Bonito was very welcoming, the flowers and biscuits appreciated. The view is magnificent and the living area makes the most of this. Appliances all work well and the heating is so easy to manage. We find the bathroom area a little cramped but the position and view more than compensate. It was an advantage having a regular bus route so close by enabling linear walks rather than circular.
As is the title - 'Our IOW Home' with the added bonus of a fabulous hamper & vase of flowers awaiting our arrival. Rofford is warm &comfortable, has plenty of hot water & freshly made beds ready to sink into. It's always a delight to come home to the IOW & Rofford for a week before Christmas, having family & friends over for afternoon tea, drinks or dinner - there is ample seating on comfy sofas & around the dining table. The open plan kitchen is well stocked with ample pots, pans, crockery, glasses etc. Rofford is but a short stroll along the road to the sea front & only a five minute wa...more
A very comfortable house ideal for our group of friends. The kitchen got full approval from the cooks in our party once they had mastered the oven controls, with a larger fridge being the only thing on their wish list, and there was plenty of crockery, cutlery and glasses. We particularly appreciated the ground floor layout, with the kitchen opening to the dining area which was also open to the living room meaning that those cooking were not isolated from the rest of the group. There are 3 showers but not enough water pressure to run them all at the same time and the ensuite bathroom suffered ...more
A lovely holiday home with everything close to hand, the Zoo is 10 minutes walk in one direction and the Pier 10 minutes in the other via the beach or following the road, supermarkets are also an easy walk along the high street and the beach is literally across the road, the property is lovely with everything you could need and of course off street parking, In fact we enjoyed our stay so much we booked for next year while we were there.
We will e-mail you separately with details of our stay. We were very unhappy with the cleanliness of the house. Ladybirds everywhere. We tried to vacuum them up but the vacuum cleaner was blocked. Please review your cleaners.
Hi, we have stayed in this property 3 times now ( 2017, 2019 and 2022 ) and its great, close to my family and close to everything we need. We are from NZ and come to the UK every few years to see family. This property fits the bill nicely and we will be coming again. Thanks again for a great stay. Stuart Tovey
Lovely house in a quiet village. Clean and very nicely modernised. Nice pub and handy shop in walking distance, and good access to the east side of the island. Parking an issue - only space for one car, and this is shared with the neighbour, so you may need to park at the village green.
Sandown on the Creek was lovely, well equipped and very comfy. With lovely views across the creek. We love visiting the Isle of Wight, to see our 'family' and this location was perfect, as they live close by.
Wonderful location. Comfortable. great shower room. Tv freeview reception poor but great internet. Had to do a bit of light dusting and bedroom floor needed a vacuum. Unfortunately dishwasher was broken when I tried to use it. A week of hand washing but wouldn't have used much anyway. Dearer than similar properties.
We had a great Christmas holiday at Grove cottage. It was really cozy and warm. It was also really festive with decorations all around the house. Grove Cottage is compact but very comfortable. The bedrooms are spacious. As is the bathroom. The sitting room is warm and inviting. The kitchen is authentic and well equipped. We would love to come back in summer and make use of the outdoor space.
The cottage was lovely; plenty of space for us and a well equipped kitchen. The beds were comfortable and the house very well cleaned. Despite awful weather, we enjoyed our stay on the IoW and the Salt Pot was a good bolt hole!
On arrival house hadn’t been cleaned. Despite property management saying it had , it hadn’t Cob webs everywhere dirty oven and pans .Poor kitchen utensils not fit for purpose .. Shower has seen better days and certainly not been cleaned . Photos to prove. Freezer needed defrosting/ replacing as it’s so old . Annex hadn’t been cleaned either. You don’t expect to enter a holiday home at Christmas to start cleaning and purchasing kitchen essentials! Linen was clean and beds were comfortable . Although you would expect a hand towel to be provided for downstairs toilet and soap , so we ...more
What a beautiful house in a beautiful location. The only negative point was a slight problem with the cleanliness. We had to clean the fridge and the living room carpet could do with a good clean.
Booked before Covid struck as 50th Birthday location for the family. Managed to get there for 52nd!! Excellent property with large garden. Great location for exploring the Island. We all enjoyed our time.
The cottage was lovely for a week away with my 2 children. It was well equipped and nicely setup - and great location for walking around locally as well as easy to explore the rest of the island. Would definitely stay again.
Conveniently located and roomy holiday home. Quiet location although near centre of town. Clean and comfortable beds and sofas. Good-sized, well-appointed kiichen-dining room with table to seat 8. Bathroom would have benefitted from an over-bath shower to augment the other shower room as with five adults and one 10-year old it was quite a scramble for the shower each morning We had a problem getting dishwasher going but this was quickly addressed by the owner and problem solved satisfactorily.
We had a very welcome short break in this lovely, well equipped house. The key safe entry meant we didn’t have to worry about any potential ferry delays (there were none as it happens). Great for a stress free start to our stay. It was however rather cold when we arrived as the thermostat was on 10C and, once we had adjusted it, the house took a little while to warm up. Once that was sorted we found everything we needed and there was loads of space and ample seating in the lounge, conservatory and dining room, something some properties lack in our experience. So very comfortable. The toilet se...more
This could be fantastic holiday accommodation if some love was put into it. It’s basic and doesn’t have any homely touches, not a single picture on the wall, 1 lamp in the whole house, everywhere just has spot lights making it feel cold. The kitchen has seen better days but is equipped with what you need. We did enjoy our time on the island and the house is well located in Ventnor but it doesn’t make you want to spend much time in it. The garden is the same as the house, bare and cold, such a shame as it has a great view, you could spend a lot of time enjoying it if it just had a few plants,...more
Generally very good. Weak spots were (1) no WiFi (2) parking limited, and when visitors came this provoked (presumably) a complaint from a neighbour re 'parking on the grass' (we were about 2 feet on the grass). No sure about recommendations (below) - 'yes' in some cases, 'no' in others. Perhaps 'yes' for short stays, 'no' for longer stays. We stayed for four weeks. One visitor commented on the 'lack of community', and another saw an opportunity for a small community shop on the park.
The location and the size of the property are excellent and can not be faulted. What really let's it down though is the standard of cleanliness, dusty skirting boards, build up of dust and fur under sofas, kitchen cupboard doors needs a good scrub. We didn't let it effect our stay as the house was just a place to sleep and have the occasional evening meal. Beds are ok, again showing signs of wear and pillows need replacing. Overall we still had a great time and would still recommend to people.
We had a great stay at Rose Cottage. The house was perfectly located in the centre of the town to walk to the beach and 2mins from the shops! Even though it’s in the heart of the village, the garden and house provided a lovely retreat. The house has lots historical features and charm - I can imagine it would be great for hosting drinks or parties.
Baltija was a comfortable holiday home that was ideal for our 3 generation family holiday. A little dated in decor but very clean and well equipped. The bedrooms were spacious with comfy beds and nice quality bed linen & towels. A few more electric sockets would have been handy in the bedrooms, but we purchased an adapter which solved the problem. The bathrooms were very clean and served their purpose. The showers were not particularly powerful but again served their purpose. The lounge & dining area was very spacious with enough seating for all and a lovely outlook onto the garden and beyond ...more
A short stay of only three days. We found the property to be very clean, tidy and well equipped. Our only observations were that the kitchen needs more cupboard or shelving to store food items. Also the parking space needs to be marked more clearly. According to the neighbouring property (Number 8 ?), the space directly in front of the house is not the associated space for Villa 23. Instead we were advised to park at the bottom of the lawned area.
A special character home in a beautiful setting. We absolutely fell in love with the property and the area with the stunning views of the Island. Secluded but close to shops for supplies. We will definitely be staying at Morse Cottage again. Thank you to the staff of Island Holiday Homes for their excellent service and communication!
Lovely big house and garden with plenty of room for families. Well equipped. Bedrooms lovely and with sea views. Living room adequate. Parking really only for one car unless 2 small. Could do with better house services details e.g. heating instructions!
The apartment itself was good, the site dismal!! The view shown is from the bedrooms. The frontage/entrance is of an abandoned, overgrown and litter strewn building site! The restaurant still being advertised is long since closed. Very disappointed and feel the advertising is dishonest.
This was the second time staying at this holiday home . It has everything a family of five needs and is very spacious. Close to the beach, shop and local pubs . Everything was clean and welcoming . Island holiday homes are very helpful and I would recommend using them to book your holiday .
First floor, south facing apartment with magnificent views from lounge and main bedroom over the Ventnor seafront and panoramic sea views. Nice touch were telescope and binoculars for looking at passing shipping. Back bedroom has its own bathroom but poorly lit as looks onto dark lightwell. Nicely furnished, comfortable beds, kitchen equipped with everything you need. On street car parking only. Small supermarkets and local shops 5 minutes walk away
